Tanry-Vu continues to deteriorate

To all reading this comminique: the People's Revolutionary Force is pressing onward into the capitol, New Paris. We have taken heavy losses, but we expect to win this battle. We are asking the citizenry of Tanry-Vu to rise up and help us overthrow Henri LaPonte's so-called "Republic".
The situation is grim for those of us not lucky enough to be in Henri's special forces. There continue to be serious shortages of food and medicine. We believe the famine has been deliberately engineered by Prime Minister Pro Tem LaPonte, that once we have deposed LaPonte we will find plenty of supplies in the warehouses he thinks we don't know about!
We are asking for surveillance of the supply depots 10km north-northeast of New Paris. Satellite surveillance, UN observers, any help of this nature would be welcomed. Please, everyone, help keep LaPonte from implementing a scorched earth strategy!
My unit is under fire. Signing out,
Remy Pichette

We will use Sentinel Squadron 1-10 to monitor the supply depot. Our soldiers in this squadron are trained to guard anything at all costs.

We appreciate the offers of military assistance, but we request that all bordering nations stay out of this conflict. My first concern is for the people of Tanry-Vu. Once aircraft and heavy artillery were on the battlefield, casualties would increase enormously.
We are only a few blocks away from the Prime Minister Pro Tem's palace, which is heavily guarded. We ask him to surrender now for the good of this nation.

"He's in this office, sir, and the door is locked. Everyone else who works in the building is accounted for. We haven't found any traps," the lieutenant announced.
Remy nodded. LaPonte's traps will be scattered all over the country, he thought. Command-and-control economy. Millions will want me dead because they can't imagine anything better. "Break the door down," he ordered shortly.
Gunshots rang out, and the oak door fell into the office. Remy strode in to find Henri calmly sitting at his desk.
Henri's gaze traveled over Remy's dirt- and blood- streaked face, his torn fatigues, his steel-toed boots. "You've been making good use of your Rhodes scholarship, I see."
"As have you," Remy said reflexively. "But today, your reign comes to an end."
"Tell your men to stop pointing their guns at me. If I die, the country dies with me. Surely you must realize this."
Remy understood. There was no telling how much of the country's wealth - bonds, currency, stocks - was tied up in LaPonte's estate. An ill-timed changing of the guard could derail what little remained of Tanry-Vu's economy. Remy's backers had harped on the need for an orderly transition.
"Exile," Remy said. "In a country of your choosing, if anyone will have you. We've frozen your accounts in this country; we reserve the right to go after your assets abroad. But I can guarantee you'll still come out of this as a wealthy man."
Henri nodded. There were no surprises on either side. Both men were well-prepared for this outcome. "I should leave for Paris at once. I shouldn't have any problem finding a friendly country in the next few days."
Remy said firmly, "Then go. I'll escort you."
