In a completely unexpected and bewildering personal statement made by President Xavier Martin just hours ago, the President of the Grand Republic announced a dramatic change in the foreign and economic policies of his nation.

Citing "Unavoidable personal matters [and] the desire to protect the people of the Grand Republic", President Martin declared a period of intense economic and foreign isolationism, to be enacted immediately upon the end of the statement. When called upon to give a reason, President Martin refused to go into more details, instead giving the podium to the Secretary of State, Ferguson MacKaye, who promised to give details of the policy later today.

Secretary of State MacKay today continued upon the theme of isolation for the Grand Republic. The borders of the Grand Republic are now to be closed to all foreign nationals with the exception of a few trusted nations; the military budget will be doubled to enforce the isolationism, and the 200km nautical border will be rapidly reinforced.

The two colonies of the Grand Republic, North-West Nerotika and Western Hitlerreich, will be given to the nationstates of Camewot and Hogsweat respectively, and all military forces there will be withdrawn to the Grand Republic. The nationstate of Krendakov will receive three CVGN Fleets for the defence of its borders, as well as several more unspecified weapons, and will come under the protection of the Grand Republic; from now on, any attack made upon Krendakov will be an attack upon the Grand Republic and responded to with all neccessary force.

The former TIOR military outpost, now under the possession of the Grand Republic, will be re-named as Area Nine, and will be sealed off to all foreign nationals; any aircraft, vessel or military or civilian personnel not from the Grand Republic seen within 200km of the Area will be fired upon.

The Republican Space Force will, for the time being, remain isolated as per military doctrine; however, in six months it will fall under the limited command of the following nations for defensive space warfare purposes; Hogsweat, Praetonia, Krendkov, Kriegorgrad, Camewot.

As of 0000 Hours tomorrow, the Allanean Embassay in Dowland City will be closed, and all Allanean personnel there be rendered persona non grata. They will have fourty-eight hours to leave the country, or be removed by force.

The goods recieved under the Treaty of Nerotika will now be sent to the nationstate of Camewot.
