Spain

Due to the new demands from the Nationalist Government under General Franco, the heavy industry of Spain has sparked a large need for employees, materials, and factories. Private Enterprises, safe from wage laws, unions, and other such troubles, have sprouted up around Central and Eastern Spain, opening massive factories from which to produce the new tanks being demanded by the military. This sudden need for employment, materials and factories has given a 'Jump Start' to the economy, for more workers are now working, more materials are being exchanged and more structures are being built, all while increasing the strength of the military.

Unfortunatly, the side effect would be the strain placed on the government budget. This strain however, is being eased by the resources harvested by the forced labor camps. These camps being manned by Republicans, Socialists, Liberals, and Communists, in general, anyone who opposed the Nationalist Government. Large amounts of Coal, Iron, and other metals demanded by the industries are now supplied not only by private contractors, but government facilities.

Unemployment is virtually non-existant, for the homeless and unemployed are commonly deemed, 'Communist Sympathizers' and shipped off to camps in Southern Spain, or sold into service on large farms/factories. Taxes on these new industries are balancing out the funds spent on purchasing the tanks, along with the government, 'Relocation Facilities'.

Nationalism is high in Spain, the people enthused with parades, celebrations, and victories over the Republican Menace, a foe that now serves as a scape goat for nearly all incidents. A foe that absorbs all errors of the government, natural disasters, and accidents. By focusing the peoples anger against these weak and nearly non-exisistant enemies, they cling to Franco's Regime for protection, and support the government in every action they make.

Nearly every headline involves the Republican Menace sabotaging, murdering, stealing, brain washing or in general, wreaking havoc. Their actual ideals are twisted into that of devil worshiping and are proclaimed enemies of God. The people, have grown to hate them as much as Franco.

The newest tanks being demanded are the Serpiente HBT (http://s12.invisionfree.com/Earth_1946/index.php?showtopic=419) and the TA-1 Anti-Tank (http://s12.invisionfree.com/Earth_1946/index.php?showtopic=418).

Production has doubled over the last month, the workforce is larger than ever, and the economy is skyrocketing. Wealthy investors that have previously been to frightened of the unstability in the market have now begun heavily investing in rising industries, confident of their sucess due to the power the Nationalists hold over problems they might encounter. The unemployed are constantly being shipped off to Government Run forced labor camps in which valuable resources are mined, making sure not to interfere with private industry.

The reliance on foriegn industrial products has been cut drastically, for all factory made goods can now be found in Spain, a convinience previously unavailable. Due to increased production, worker wages have naturally risen, due to the larger number of industries and the increased workforce, tax revenue has been majorly increased without needing to raise them.

Regarding the public and private school systems, public school funding is being cut throughout the nation, as private institutions have requested acess to the market of education. Tuition to these schools are low, however all citizens that require aid, are commonly given it in return for labor, or time in the military. Courses such as History have been altered, focusing on recent history, painting an increasingly evil portrait of Republicans, Communists and Socialists, while shaping the Nationalist Party as the savior of humanity. The funds saved from education are poured into purchasing military weapons, while the economy is further stemmed by the private education, forcing schools to purchase new supplies such as books, tables, building contracts, chairs, food and every other need a school would have.

The economy is shaping up, its growth matched by few. While it is still not on the level of other nations, it wont be long until that point is reached.
