The hunger of millions of mouths(ATTN Taledonia)

The movement was like a violent ravaging storm. Fast is lightning, strong as thunder. This described the make-shift hive fleet with percision, the coming of the storm, a storm that would obliterate the tiny system, and the world known as Kosse.

The main planet, Kosse, was inhabitted by two nations. One ally, one nuetral to the swarm, but today both civilizations on the world would be torn asunder without hesitation, the Chronosians and the Taledonians.

With speed unknown to hive ships, the first wave of the fleet quickly moved in, bearing down straight towards the feeble world. There should be almost no space-based resistance from the system, as this was an almost useless world and system. Any resistance would be met with a swift, painful, and brutal end.

Unlike past fleets, where the whole hive fleet moved as one mass in space, this time the ships broke up into drastically smaller fleets. The main fleet moved in on the planet Kosse, bearing numerous hive ships, and totalling over 12 million ground units. The rest of the fleet, broke up and were off to conquer and infest surrounding worlds, and any ships that were caught in the system. But even all the smaller fleets combined came no where close to the true mass of past fleets. This was only 15% the size of past hive fleets, but these ships would be more than enough to conquer these tiny planets, and rip Chronosians and Taledonias alike, apart.

Swiftly all the fleets reached the planets they were designated to at the same time. They would gun down any patrols that got in their way, and launch their first barrage of deadly spores upon the planets' surface.

It had begun.

((I had prior knowledge of the system's defences and inhabitants, so it all should be accurate.))

Chronosian Orbital defences roared into bloody life as the enemy began its insatiable onslaught from above. The screams of ground based cannons searing the very atmosphere as Imperial Guardsmen rushed to defence stations. Glittering sepulchures and cathedrals lay bared to the Tyranid advance; homes and business, places of worship and sacrifice; lay open to their fangs and claws; yet the great guns encircling them opened fire with searing heat; the defence beginning in ernest; as defence lasers snapped against the already descending spores.

A Commisar barked orders, before putting his boltpistol to the Guardsman's head and pulling the trigger; whirling to fire several shots skyward; even as the atmosphere swirled and darkened with alien trickery. He cursed under his breath, screaming aloud prayers to the dark gods; as his men scrambled over walls and fallen masonry, ready to face the enemy in its onslaught.

"Onward men! The Emperor Protects! Even these vermin are as nothing before the Imperium! Stand your ground! Or by the Gods, the Swarm is the last thing you shall need fear!"

::TRANSMITION INCOMING::

The Cybernetic Dominion of Hydrogen-Land hereby states that our nation, in alliance with the first Non-Hydronaut commander, CR Oscilloscopes, supports the Azahan Swarm in their attack, and is beaconing the Azahan space as we speak. We are willing to negotiate surrender, but as of now, all Hydrogen-Land soldiers and ships are on full alert.

Enemy nations are requested to make the decision of surrender within one hour's time, for attacks will commence after that period. Any ships caught in Hydrogen-Land or Iron Fist space will be fired upon, and in neutral space, ships will be boarded. Once again, we request your surrender.

CR Oscilloscopes is currently controlling Hydrogen-Land Service Force 2, and is to be considered friendly by the Azahan Swarm, and will not hesitate to attack enemies if infractions are commited, that is all.

It was a startling occurance for Marcus Forses, the newly appointed Governor of the Taledonian side of Kosse. He had arrived just three days earlier, and had just barely took grasp of what was happening in the colony. He had reviewed the treasury, and all the other boring administrative tasks; and was about to schedual a meeting with the Chronosian delegation on the planet to announce his arrival when he heard the news. Long range sensors had picked up a rather large force heading towards the planet; and when they arrived, had begun attacking.

Tho still a novice in military matters, Forses had enjoyed his schooling in the arts of war; and would use it to his full advantage against this "swarm". He was about to send out orders when he recieved a message from the acting garrison commander on Kosse; General Tidor.

Energy cannons have been charged and are firing skywards. Civilians are already being evacuated into the emergency bunkers; and all ground forces have been mobolised.

Word has also been recieved that Admiral Gulay has engaged the swarm with the Kosse fleet*. Suggest a transmission be sent to the Chronosians.

General Theo Tidor

And so, taking the advice of the high ranking military man, Marcus prepared a message to the Chronosians.

Greetings Chronosians,

It is with utmost sadness that my first message to you has been made in these troubling times. You may or may not know, but I am Governor Marcus Forses; the new Taledonian governor of Kosse.

It appears that we are under attack, and we have both activated our defenses. Sadly, the Empire has not encountered a race of this kind before, and we do not know much about their abilities, technology or strategies; therefore we request your co-operation and ask for any information you may have on the swarm.

It is without a doubt that this planet has served as the point in which both our nations have remained rather peaceful with each other; and a loss here would be quite a disaster. We have already sent a call for reinforcements, and suggest you do the same. By Talean, we will defeat this menace, and hopefully Republican/Chronosian relations will grow stronger and, perhaps if luck prevails, official.

Yours in friendship,

Governor Marcus Forses

Grand Admiral Solus was sitting in his rather lavish estate just west of Taledon when the news came. One of his servants came out onto the sunlit padio and gave him a holopad, which shone to life and gave him the details.

Get my car ready, I am leaving for Taledon immeadiatly.

Standing up, we placed his martini on the table and went into the villa.

And hour later, Solus found himself in his full military uniform, sitting in the back of his black limo, and heading towards the eternal city. It didn't take long to arrive at the giant military installation which was the Taledonian Command.

The long halls took awhile, but he finally arrived at the main control room. Observing the hundreds of busy computer nerds and military officers going around doing their duty, Solus walked over to one of the work stations.

Report.

Kosse has been attacked by an unknown enemy sir. Both Chronosian and Taledonian garrisons have began engaging; and they have requested reinforcements as they are overwhelmed.

The small fleet pushed in, taking brunt hits on their boney heavily armored prows, the orbital guns doing little damage to the front of the massive hive ships. The hive was almost bred for orbital invasions, and had almost perfected it. Though space-based defence lacked, they were not defenseless, and sported many symbioatic weapons bored into the hulls of the ships that would spew acid or spikes to poke holes in enemy ships.

With unheralded speed, the sleek black, organic hive ships slipped closer, still taking the brunt of orbital defense weapons. As preemptive attacks, the ships released thousands of small spore capsules, carrying trillions of microscopic spores that would be extremely dangerous to most. Hopefully if nothing like energy fields disrupted the spores, they would make landfall in minutes after launch, ands spread across the planet's populated surfaces very quickly.

The hive within the ships started to stir, awakening from their slumbers. Warriors, Nauts, Carnifexes, Lictors, Genestealers and their broodlords, gargoyls and any other manner of species snapped wide awake.

Ships that went to attack other planets diverted away from the others, and propelled themselves straight at Kosse. Now the swarm would be coming from all sides in on the planet.

The Kazeci fleet moved in, broadcasting a constant stream of tactical data to the Taledonians on secured frequencies. Their shields ran at maximum and their weapons were charged to capacity.

As they came into range behind the nearest enemy ships, they let loose. From each of the 6 super cruisers came four brilliant gold beams, thick and powerful. Massive turrets shot back with recoil from the powerful ion beams. Each shot lasted 30 seconds as it tried to slice through the hull of its target. Smaller red beams lashed out from the ships, locking onto their targets. Within each of these beams, two photon torpedoes were fired in quick succession, hopefully slamming into their target's hull with out the interference of shielding. They were meant for the total devastation of key systems they aimed for.

The Grand Duke had finally decided on the course of action for the Kosse problem. The Imperial Galactic Guard would mobelize and fight the Tyranid on the ground. 18-09-2005, 18:40
A massive blue ball of energy flew towards the sky as an energy cannon fired. It flew up out of the atmosphere and into space, hurling towards it's target. Several others trailed after it as the rest of the cannons fired again and again.

The fleet, however, was having a bit of hard luck, as the enemy seemed to be ignoring them and heading straight for the planet. Increasing speed, the starships moved to an intercepting path to hopefully slow them down until reinforcements arrived.

On the ground, the large spores that had been launched by the enemy crashed into buildings, arches, statues and roads, crushing them and the people unlucky enough to be caught under them. The civilian populus had been evacuated to the lower bunkers, and now only the military personel remained on the planet.

Through the streets ran the groups of busy shocktroopers, behind them the great and powerful mechs that towered up almost as high as the buildings. The various armored units such as the battle tanks moved around setting up perimeters around the spores incase anything should come out of them.

All in all, it was a strong defensive, but would it last? And what of the Chronosians, would they be able to defend their half of the planet? If not, then the swarm could easily come into the Taledonian sector and start wreaking havok on the cities.

((OOC: Just to clear one thing up. The spore pods would spew out trillions of microscopic organisms that would be extremely poisonous to unprotected people.))

The hive ships were now coming at the planet from four sides, the main fleet being pounded by oribtal defense weapons and ships, the other three not yet experiancing problems.

The main fleet consisted of five very large hive ships, the other three of three smaller hive ships each, but all carrying the same deadly cargo.

The main fleet was getting pounded from behind. Though the prows were the most heavily armored and taking almost all of the oribtal fire, the sides and back of the ships were getting picked apart, slowly, but surely. Soon two of the massive hive ships would lose their propulsion, but hopefully the drift of the ships would carry them into the planet's surface.

Even though they were getting pounded, and had been ignoring the ships and aiming directly at the planet, now it was getting more dire. Bone spikes as hard as steel were shot from organisms built into the ship, at enemy ships. Acid globs were also thrown, able to eat through any metal, given enough time. The harder the metal, the more time it would take, but eventually it would eat through, even if it took months, and the acid was not nuetralized. As they fired, ships sped towards the planets, hell bent on landing their cargo, and releasing the swarm that would consume all.

But now, Kosse was not the only planet coming under attack now. The rest of the hive fleet started to make it's appearance, over three hundred ships started to pounce on planets all over the Taledonian border worlds. Each planet that was majorly inhabitted had ten hive ships, less populated ones were attacked by five ships or less. Now this conflict was not an isolated incident, and the whole of the hive fleet was brought to bear.

ooc: Gerr, too many battle sites. Perhaps we can assume that our actions here reflect those of the other fleets over different worlds?

Ic: The Large spikes of bone were shattered by the Magnetic Particle Shielding of the Kazeci ships. Countless tiny orbs continued to randomly spin around the ships, slamming into and hopefully destroying any solid objects entering into their field. The globs of acidic substance were held back by the energy shielding in most cases, but the ships who took them most hits where overwhelmed, their shields collapsing. Desperately, they tried to beam and tractor away this terror.

Their onslaught increased. On top of the Lethal Ion Cannons and Shield Piercing Photon Torpedoes, a continuous hail of blue Zat fire plagued their foes. Each shot was relatively weak, but the sheer numbers of them would cause massive damage, at least on the surface. They were joined by seemingly invisible waves of energy, slamming into and crushing all in their path with tremendous force. The twisted tales of missiles could be seen as they chased after their fast moving prey. Larger torpedoes streaked towards the hive ships, ready to detonate their powerful explosives.

(OOC: Ouch, big mistake buddy. Kosse is pretty much the only planet that doesn't have Angel cannons at their disposal, and seeing as how your ships and soldiers are alive, they will be completely destroyed attacking the other ones.)

IC:

The hive fleets that arrived at the border worlds were immeadiatly stopped by the border field that pulled them out of FTL travel. The border fleets moved in to engage, and all of them had at least 2 ships that had Angel cannons. Calculations were made, and the cannons were fired in a position that they would rip through the majority of the enemy.

Kosse, however, was not as lucky, they had no Angels; at least not until the reinforcing fleet would arrive in another 20 minutes. But the fleets would do all in their power to destroy the enemy before they reached the planet.

(OOC: Oh yeah, Crystal Angel cannons, or Angel cannons as they are called for short, fire massive beams of pure energy that adapt to the energy of everything that isn't organic, so that they leave no signature on them. Meaning no shielding or armor can stop it. However, organic things are completely erased from existence. And now you know why you made a mistake. Geez, Chrono, you think you could have picked a more suitable person to hire to take me out. Like somebody with a robot population or something.)

Ships scattered and sped, attempting to avoid these cannons that seemed to plague the border worlds. Hive ships scattered and distanced themselves from each other, trying to make it as difficult as possible to knock out all the hive ships. Alot would be destroyed yes, maybe even all, but there would be atleast one drop of human blood spilled before the last of the swarm was incinerated, or so they hoped.

Over Kosse, the main arrack fleet started to fall apart. Orbital guns started to chew through the boney prows and into the soft flesh that made up the ship's hull. The ships from behind had knocked out two of the hive ships' propulsion, sending the massive ships tumbling in space, the other three taking heavy damage in the prows, almost being ripped through. As one ship tumbled, the explosed spine of the ships was met with orbital gun fire, the guns ripping through the weakened ship's fleshy hull, and snapping the ship in half.

In a small ship far away from the action, but close enough to get a good visual, the 'King' Nerasfatu watched the action. He cringed with ever hit against his precious swarm, and even grew angry.

If you're going to make your move... make it now.

The abyss rent; flames of corrupt power seething from the tears in reality that vommited forth the 2000 ships; one thousand at one side of the engagement; another, situated at the other. The first was an ornate fleet, its ships dancing with incomprehensible logic and form; shifting monstrosities of metal and blackest faith. The other, was wreathed in death; a hissing and terrible corrupt fleet of dark, plagueridden steel. Upon the flagship; Lucian stood; chuckling in his rattling voice; phlegm seething from his mask.

"Engage" He muttered.

"The Emperor's will be done..." Another voice echoed from the flagship of the Tzeentchian fleet; Severino Jeriacor laughed; his voice echoing in decadant pleasure; his loyalty to Tzeentch unshaking, even at the side of this agent of Nurgle.

The weapons crackled; roared and opened fire; as the countless cannons and weapons systems of the Imperium ignited; sending arcing blasts of energy against the Taledonian, Deatharon and Kazecistan fleets. Lucian laughed; engaging full communications; sending his message forth to the Imperium's secret allies; the time was ripe, the time was now.

Countless missles and torpedoes hurtled towards the Deatheron fleet; overwhelming numbers of fusion weapons and cyclonic torpedoes hurtling towards them with the power to wipe clean entire worlds...

It had turned bad. The Chronosians had betrayed the shacky truce that was shared by the Empire and the Imperium; but almost everyone knew it was coming, and the result would be very chaotic for both sides, especially if the two Emperors met; and blood fought with blood.

But for the time being, the Kosse defensive fleet, being still in good condition from the swarm, left the orbital defenses to deal with the rest while they turned to face the Chronosian menace. The force was meager at best compared to the superior numbers of the Chronosians, but the objective was not to win, but merely to stall for time until the reinforcements arrived.

Space was no longer the only battlefield, as the Taledonian garrisons on the surface began firing their artillery and long ranged weaponary across the border at neighbouring Chronosian towns and military installations. The Deatharon marines were also asked to go to the border and reinforce them there, incase the Chronosian legions moved to counter the bombardment.

Peace was no gone from the galaxy, and only one side would be named victor. The loser would be erased from history, but the winner would be glorified throughout eternity, and would live to expand further throughout the universe.

The Border erupted into blood and fire as Taledonian artillery hit home; bunkers splintering, earth shaking, marines and guardsmen hurled this way and that; before the counterattack sundered forth. Basilisk Artillery roared in bloody volleys of scathing fire; Predator and Leman Russ tanks poured forth, their cannons and lascannons roaring in unison as they steamed forth.

Marines leapt barricades and barbed wire in single bounds; bolters roaring skyward, mixing with terrible chants of war and blood. The thunder of artillery dimmed, eclipse by something quite like the howl of some angry beast. Dirt flew as the Combat Bikes, heavily armored, but deadly fast, leapt across the no-mans land between the two; treads screeching into dirt as they plunged towards the Taledonian Border. Hell was being joined on the world.

And high above, Heaven was ablaze; the roar of Chronosian weapons p[ouring upon the Taledonians and their orbital defences; even as they fought back. An exploding ship; its debris marring the void; vomitting forth flame, personnel and wreckage; passed the mighty flagship. Lucian did not even blink; merely instructing further attacks on the Taledonians; while Severino advanced from behind and around; against the Taledonian's and the Kazeci's. Death and Change both waxed full in the skies about the disputed world; and it seemed, that all about the defenders; hope waned.

Yet this was the just the beginning
Taledonia
20-09-2005, 00:05
The heavens roared, as the small group of Taledonian defenders continued to put on a good fight, but they knew nothing could hold back the Chronosian horde until the reinforcements arrived, and that was still twenty minutes away. The enemy came on both sides, surrounding the Republic forces, but not completely taking an advantage. At the right moment, the trap would spring, and it would be the Chronosians who would be in the hell that they had created.

While down on Kosse, the shocktroopers in the deep bunkers opened up. Blasters firing rapidly, filling the gap between them and the advancing enemy army with red streaks as the energy blasts flew forth. Larger beams flew, as the battle tanks fired their cannons, and the rockers blarred from both the portable rocket launchers some of the troops had, and the missile defense systems set up at the border.

The Chronosians had countered with not only an invasion force, but with their own artillery, which smashed into the ground, sending dirt and mud flying everywhere. Some even found their way home into the trenches, sending men, equipment and other things flying into the air, only to come crashing down again in various pieces.

The enormous mechs that had been send to the border also started to engage. The Commander mechs, standing like men with encumbersome armor on, took aim and fired their massive blasters that seemed more like massive chainguns. In the other hand, their mighty rockets flying forth, and crashing into the ground and enemy alike, creating craters and trenches of their own.

The raptor mechs, looking exactly that, like raptors, simply ducked their heads and sent volleys of missiles flying at the enemy. Occasionally jumping into the air to avoid an artillery blast. They let out tremendous roars from their metal mouths; and charged past the trenches and at the incoming enemy. Their once metal claws illuminating into energy blades, and slashing at the enemy tanks and bikers, and at the very ground to swipe at groups of infantry. Energy mines came from their shoulders also, and some headed towards the ground to track enemy, while others stood in the sky to intercept any missiles that might fly at their creators.

Lightning and thunder filled the sky, and was joined by the sounds of the explosions and blasts, and the great trumpets of the Taledonian legions sitting next to the standards with golden eagles, and the deafening roars of the raptors; finally accompanied by the sound of fighters and bombers shouting overhead and releasing their deadly onslaughts.

Men torn from their bikes; or cleaved from their tanks, lay dieing; Space Marines; Guardsman; corrupt blood of every kind mingled on the battlefield; but still they came; relentless. It was not the way of Chronosians to surrender; nor to lose. And as the rain began to pour; they fought on; gleaming Power armor illuminated by lightning flashes as they surged forth; the Eight Pointed Star glimmering on the helmets and uniforms of the guardsmen. A Commander walked amongst his men, his human men; and smoked a cigar; seeming an iron tower of strength amidst the rain and mud; his plasma pistol raised as he took another shot at the enemy; sabre thrust into the air with a roar; inspiring those who fought at his side to fight on. They were not Space Marines; but these Guardsmen would fight to the death, with the fury of a Catachan Devil.

At the front lines; space marines plunged into hell; bolters roaring; blood and dirt water sloshing against their corrupt yet Regal armor; even as some fell to the Xenos they fought; others scrambled forth, bodies kicked aside in the mud-smeared craters and remains of walls toppled beneath fallen Marines. The hiss and howl of Bolters echoed; the clank of great engines of war; the howl as Dreadnoughts strode forward; lascannon and autocannon tearing at the enemy; or the crash of Artillery from an advancing Defiler; the great Arachnid frame lashing out with immense claws; flamers screaming at those who drew to close.

The Chronosian garrison drew upon every strength and cunning; more powerful, in some respects than the bolterfire and roar of chainsword that echoed across the battlefield; as the Chronosians plunged headfirst into war and hellish conflict.

It was as though they had been born there.

The shocktroopers continued to fire relentlessly at the advance of the Chronosian horde, becoming more and more desperate to keep them away, but still taking in the sweet thought that soon they would be able to engage them hand to hand.

The golden blood was spilled all over the ground, and was soaking into the wet ground now as the fallens allies continuously stepped into the puddles of blood and sweat, taking their brothers place at the forefront. The ground still being skimmed by the trillions of energy blasts flinging forth amonst the legs of the advancing mechs, who still rained destruction on the enemy.

As the enemy crossed the invisible line that was the border and into the muddy trenches, slamming into the Taledonian defenders with their chainswords and bolters.

Amongts the front ranks, was Oilus, son of Grachus, who lifted his blaster to meet the oncoming foe, but met death as his enemy bested him and sent him to the muddy floor and the puddle of his own blood. Along with him, was Garreth, the Howler as he was called amongst his squad; the Howler who dropped his gun in the close quarters, and drew his energy blade, entering the fray of close battle. And Dio, son of Plotmey Gavrick, who's wise words of the ripe age were know in the city of Forkton; also entered the fray with energy blade drawn, and plasma pistol spewing out blue death. And Franklin, who was brother to another soldier, tried to draw his close weapon to save his young life, but was cut down from the waist, and sent to the heavens. And the screams of men, beasts and machines alike roared around the scene, and the shrieks of thunder continued to drain it all out momentarily. The thunder that came from above.

And above even the thunder and lightning, the battle of space continued to rage. The small fleet holding it's ground as two frigates exploded into temporary balls of fire, then succeeding into floating debris amongst the battle.

The massive balls of energy flying forth from the energy cannons flew towards the Chronosian fleet, followed and accompanied by energy torpedoes, turbo lasers, and small craft who went to do attack runs.

The fleet shook and steadied; opening fire against the planet itself and the enemy fleet; as ships burst asunder at the onslaught of the enemy. Yet still; fighting with renewed vigor; the Chronosians fought on. Ships roared with Warp Cannon and turbo lazer; ion cannon and fusion weapon; all hurled forth to purfiy the void and the world below in the name of Chaos...

The Chronosians fought on; a marine stumbled back, clutching a molten breastplate, sinking to his knees as an energy blade took his throat; falling into a pool of his own seething blood. A Guardsman was torn apart by artillery fire; a Predator flipped, flaming as it slammed into a shattered trench wall; its crew struggling in the furnace of its belly.

Nothing mattered now on the world, except killing; death had become their terrible art; and it was perpetuated a hundred fold; as Marines surged forward; and far above, Lucian gave the order for biological weapons salvos to be fired at the border and the main Taledonian population centres.

He sat alone, in the midst of a great chamber; walls writhing with runes and offerings; flesh dancing to the tune of moaning and hissing, tormented victims of disease and death, fuelling the runes as he muttered his incantation. A crackle of warp energy; a whirr of machinary as drop pods began to hurtle towards the planet; and yet now, Lucian was elsewhere.

The rain came heavy as Lucian materialised in the midst of a Taledonian trench, spinning as the gasps and curses filled the air; scythe swinging with preternatural speed and strength; nurglings hissing beneath his feet; slipping from the Immaterium; the walls of mud and the dead bristled with them, these carrion feeding blobs of Nurgle's wrath; as Lucian advanced; his armor gleaming with blood, mud and ichors from his own tainted body. A great roar bellowed from his lungs as he charged forth; and the hive billowed forth from his being; swarms of nurgle-tainted insects pouring from his armor, feasting on the rapidly bloating dead; and seething forth to consume the Living.

Death itself had come to Kosse. And it was time to feed.

Silently, Nerasfatu sat on his throne of blood and flesh, veins pulsing and vibrating, sending vile, yet life giving liquids through-out the ship, nourishing the giant living creature.

The silence was broken. Nerasfatu growled a low half-human half-alien growl, his mind reverberating the waves of the growl through the sheer psi force that eminated from him, the force he has yet to harness.

Slowly the ship started to slip away towards the Chaos fleet, weaving through any enemy fire they came across, and heading straight for the command ship.

Nerasfatu was angry. A very large number of his swarm was just decimated due to, in his opinion, "Piss poor" timing. The rest of the hive fleet was atleast a day away, and would not make it to the battle to be of any help, not that he would send any, seeing how much his allies seemed toc are about the well being of his children.

Open your doors, I am coming in.

Silently the ship glided towards the command ship of the chaos fleet.

The Empire gave him 800 ships to control for this battle. 300 Frontlineships and 500 Patrolships.

As he reached the bridge he informed the communications offer to send out a message to Chronosia.

The battle raged on, and the Taledonian fleet continued to lose life, as another frigate was destroyed along with a carrier. The fighters had taken on the job of intercepting the weapons being fired down at the army on the planet, in hopes that they could keep the fleets in space and the men could deal with the Chronosian hordes. They intercepted many, and their ruins fell down to earth.

Earth that was destroyed by black flames and mountains of carcasses. The swarm of insects bused annoyingly around the troops, pecking at the armor but doing little else. The men continued to fight, plunging deeper into the enemy as they continued to pour into the trenches.

Olin, a mere infantryman with no name in which he was renown, thrust at an enemy, plunging his energy blade deep into it's belly, but receiving a blast to the head; his armor glinting as the shield protected him, but was useless against the blade that took his head next. And Troitus, sitting in the middle ranks, still clinging to his blaster and firing into the fray. Turning, he saw the Chronosian prince coming through the lines, killing almost all in his path with the exception of those who moved out of the way. Turning, he took careful aim, and fired with everything he had at the enemy prince, hoping to cut him out quickly. He continued to fire, his energy blasts seemingly being taken by all the bloody insects that swarmed the dark prince, but he continued fruitfully until Lucian took his arms and legs, leaving him crippled and useless on the battlefield to die.

Marcus sat in his battle tank, firing the cannon as his gunner sat above him, firing the turret, trying to keep those that came out the other end of the trench away from the tanks. It was going well, until a Commander mech was hit by an artillery shell and fell to the ground, crushing the tank in a massive ball of flames. The tank beside it consumed as well by a piece of a TF-20 that fell to the ground.

The majority of the battle was taken place on the planet surface. The Abh approach to a ground battle was to just destroy everything on the surface-no more ground battle- or just pound the planet into submission. They had brought enough resources that it could be done if the Chronosians so desired.

Doron looked at the screen displaying his fleet. " I want 100 Frontlineships to prepare for mine attack. I want all Patrolships to fuel mines and load rifles. I want all shields at maximum power." - Ulinjara During the Druidic Wars.

Ulin Crathna Makalanin paced the decks, his eyes dashing across his crew. They moved with efficiancy, directing the ship with a amazing presision. His authority over the Thirty Kilometre battleship had never been comprimised, but the Collector himself was comming to Take command. Two hundred Craft, And Two thousand fighters moved through hyperspace along side the beamoth.

There was a commotion, before two men steped aside for a Figure drapped in Deep Green robes. He moved with a fluid grace, and as he dropped his hood, it showed the slanted ears and eyes of a Elythid. Immidietly the deck bowed to the handsom man before them.

sIC:
"What? But we were coming to a peace agreement? But sir! But, but!"

The man on the other end of the transceiver was cut off by the Admiral, as he curtly went to work. A short, bald man, the Admiral had no received his command through wealth or bravery, but sheer strategic brilliance. He was not, however, known for his political correctness.

He had planned this strike for a long time, calling in favours left and right in the Council of Unity, blackmailing and bribing with abandon, and now it was paying off. His employer, the former Exarch Emperor, the one who the Council had so foolishly thought powerless, was planning a return to power, although albeit differently.

This time, all he wanted was control over the Council, and the power that would give him. The Admiral had no idea why he was instigating this war, nor why he wanted the entire offensive fleet, a body of ships rarely used to a hundredth of their potential, to attack Taledonia itself.

Almost a thousand non-fighter ships had been gathered, an action that the Admiral knew would nigh-ruin the League's finances, and cause undue strain on the law-enforcement system. He didn't know that the League could gather a force so large, and he had no doubt that rebellion would be the result, as well as him having to command a rather motley fleet.

However, it delighted him to be able to command such a huge fleet, and he had two simple objectives. Firstly, he would launch an attack with four hundred ships, a number that the Taledonians surely could not match, and raze Taledon to a smouldering ruin. Hell, he would obliterate the planet entirely, and move onwards, obliterating planet after planet, until the Republic was no more...

Secondly, he would keep the second fleet in reserve, in Truespace, providing both a handy escape route, and a powerful reinforcement, just in case the Republic happened to overwhelm his standing, more elite forces, not to mention the FTLi generators they could activate.

No, the Republic stood no chance. What with the Taledonian forces spread so thin, with the attack on Kosse, the betrayal of Chronosia, the fleet led to Hydrogen-Land, it was doubtful they could muster the force needed to destroy this fleet, especially with the location of each Taledon defense cannon marked, and the shields tuned somewhat, so that they were primed against Taledonian fire. Indeed, they had even developed an anti-Crystal Angel Cannon method, although it was fairly primitive.

So, the fleet, with the sleek, black dreadnoughts and cruisers leading the way, the destroyers and frigates winging out to the sides, the carriers in the middle, and the gunships scouting on ahead, below, or above.

Suddenly, a flash of blue light appeared, hiding the ships from view. When it faded, they were gone.

"Cease the bombardment. Get ready to land" ordered Greecksef. And so the fleet headed towards the planet, and the Hebels and Grevulus deployed the landing craft and fighters to unleash havoc on the enemy.
"We are to deploy at the near the front lines but behind the enemy. We shall assisst them in destroying any Republic ground forces we encounter. Now get to it" said GOC Peryry.

The fighters screamed through the air, firing at anything that was not an ally, clearing the way for the dropships to land and unload their cargo. The dropships moved through the air quickly, but not as fast as the fighters. They quickly approached their LZs and turned around, "cooling" them with their own weaponry. Their rear doors opened and came down, unleashing the horde of troops and machines within. The Greckens emerged from their dropship and fired their energy cannons at the enemy, mealting the ground and kicking into the air where they missed their foes. The Vergers attacked the enemy armor air, firing their missiles and rail guns. The Vigers stormed from their berths, explosive shells leaping from their cannons. The Gearhead robots swarmed from their ships, firing their projectile rifles at any enemy. The infantry squads deployed, attacking their designated foes.

Nerasfatu had long returned to his fleet and was making it close to the Kosse system once again. His plan was to help the Chronosians take the planet, but now they spotted enemy ships starting to leave the system.

Nerasfatu grinned, and ordered half his fleet, nearly one thousand ships of the hive, inculding hive ships and destroyers, to follow the ones trying to escape.

Tyranid ships would never catch up on conventional means, they were slow, lumbering powerful ships. So they devised a tactic.

Every minute, ten hive ships and/or destroyers would try to warp jump directly infront of the running ships, saving them much time and catching them up, while also trying to block off their passage.

So this happened, the first ten ships jumped towards the Deatharons. They missed alittle, exiting the warp a few miles from the ships, though alittle bit ahead of these ships. The second group jumped, again missing, but landing a bit close, but still a few miles away. The third jumped, again landing closer.

This would continue until they pinpointed the coordinates enough to jump almost on top of the enemy ships. Mean while, a group of three hundred jumped 100 miles infront of the fleeing ships, and spread themselves out, forming a blockade expanding several tens of miles in any direction, two dimensional. They only guessed where the ships would go, but they asumed the fleeing ships would stay on their course.

The remaining 200 ships that had no mission, jumped at random points infront of the fleeing ships, off to the side and above the direct line, hoping to catch the ships should they turn off and try to flee in another direction.

The hive ships that were close enough to be attacked, took lash after lash of phaser fire. But so did they hive return fire. They shot acid globs at the ships, and bone spikes as hard as steel.

Hive ships that were in those random places started to close in on the fleeing ships, soon the ships themselves would make a web that the ships would not be able to fit through physically, if the fleeing ships kept their present course and speed.

The ships that were close enough, the very close ones, started to lash out massive long tentacles at the ships as they passed by. Some hive ships got a running start, steaming ahead of the ships, so that when the faster ships passed by, there would be more time to try and entrap some of these ships in the long extremely durable tentacles.

The fleet moved in for the kill.

The A.I. system picked up the random movements of the Tyranids. The pattern of attack made no sense. The A.I. ordered an immediate wormhole jump to the Gate. The Massive amount of energy surrounded each Transport as it was to "jump into" The forming wormhole. The weapons and shields went off line during the power up this left a number of Transports vulenerable to Tyranid attack. The A.I. estimated that only 30% of the retreating force would be destroyed.

The A.I. self destructed as many ships that were captured as possiable. This however was a diffcult chore and many ships were still in Tyranid "hands". The Surriving ships jumped and headed out of the now obvious trap of the Tyranids.

OOC: Trying to jump into a wormholes and self destructed ships at the same time is diffcult for any A.I. system.

Edit: The A.I. is trying to blow up the ships that are caught by the Tyranids tenticales. The problem (mainly so I am not called a god modder.) is that to do this it has to divert power from the jump making it harder to blow up the ships. Thus leaving some to do as you please.

With several psychic screeches, the tentacles blasted apart as some of the ships under their grasp exploded into firey balls. The others had peices of tentacles cut off as the ships jumped away, taking peices of the tentacles with them.

Otherwise, the rest of the ships that had not detonated yet were still held tightly by the others. Strong thick tentacles started to crush and mangle the ships' engine sections, trying to "gently" rip off the portions and throw them away, so that there would be no more explosions.

At this same time, hive ships approached the reamining ships, and latched the transports onto them. There the hive ships would start eatign through the hull of the enemy ships, and try to send wave after wave of the swarm to take over the ship, hopefully leaving a couple alive for... informaiton.

The Internal defenses of the each ship was acivated. The Phaser turrets would constantley fire upon any intruding creatures that entered the captured ships. The constant fireing was racking at the Swarms. The Troops on board also fired trying to stay alive. This was turning into a nightmare for the Deatharon soldiers inside.

Wave after wave of hormagaunts(Basic weak Tyranids, melee based) were cut down in the fire. But it seemed for every one they killed, ten more would take its place, along with more powerful hive creatures such as warriors, lictors, and genestealers.

Several ships started to latch onto one ship, making each enemy ship have three or four different points at which the swarm was tromping through. With every passing minute, more and more of the swarm tromped in, and with each passing minute, they seemed to grow more and more vicious and malicious.

The boarding action seemed to slow down. Less and less of the smaller creatures swarmed, but still came through, until finally they topped coming.

There was an earie silence.

That changed when huge creatures almost two stories high ripped through the ship's bulkheads. Any hallway they did fit in, they would most likely fill the entire thing. Any hallways they couldn't fit through, they simply cut through and made themselves fit. Though they had no where to run if they came under fire, the sheer amount of armor, and the huge scythe like blades they hefted on their arms were more than enough to make up for this. Carnifexes, the swarm's tanks.

After they made their explosive entrance, the swarms of hormagaunts flooded back in. Meanwhile, Genestealers and their Broodlords made their way to the brigdes and anywhere else the swarm thought important personel would be. Any heavily arm soldiers would be killed along the way by the swarms of genestealers and their lords. Any very lightly or unarmed personel, that were dressed in any sort of flashy or elborate clothing would be captured, and crippled, but not killed.

The Men were taking heavy losses. The Mrrshan Commando's had a plan to take out the Carnifex's in a hallway thus blocking the swarms advance. The Commando's took aim and hoped there Phasers would take it out by sheer fire power.

The genestealers swarmed upon the officer. They gnashed and ravaged their claws, grasping at non-vital points and trying to rip them to shreds, such as arms and legs, but without totally removing them, as to not set in shock, which might kill the officer.

Few carnifexes were smart enough to use their massive blades as sheields, and kept advancing. But most were not smart, thus they toppled like huge bags of bricks. When they fell, there was few points in which the hormagaunts could fit through, but they still did and could only come in single file through two points near the top.

The warriors had noticed the problem, and started clawing at bulkheads to their sides, ripping through the metal, and trying to find an alternate route to soldiers who had cut themselves off, past the heaps of bleeding tanks.

Still, more and more of the swarm poured in. It was almost getting to the point where the ones that weren't in combat, were crowded into each other, and in some cases, on top of each other.

The Soldiers took advantages of the swarm comeing single fire. This reserved ammo and saved lifes. The Grendarl Shock troops waited for the swarm to break through they planed to use heavy plasma rifles when they got to close. The genestealers took their last slashes, moving over their own dead, and dragging the officer away. He would be good intel.

More and more of the swarm poured in. Walls were torn to shreds as they made new halls for themselves. A new command was set in though. Tear down very wall, but leave the structural supports. Imeddiatly, those of the swarm that were idle, started to rip and claw at the metal, tearing sheets from the supports, and spilling over into other rooms and halls, tearing their walls off aswell. Even parts of the floor and ceiling were ripped open to make easy access between levels, without tearing up their walking path. The swarm could not fit in the original ship design, so they would make themselves fit.

The warriors broke through on the soldiers though, and were met with ferocious plasma fire, the concentrated fire taking downt he warriors very quickly, and the hormagaunts behind the warriors. But still they kept going. Now they knew the enemy would not go down without a fight, so all there was left to do is exaust the enemy's ammunition... tyranid's specialty.

Tens of thousands of the swarm still poured in, in all the captured ships, now spreading out more because of the missing walls, and more readily able to savage those who still wished to fight.

The ammo was indeed running out. The remaining soldiers tryed to hold the tyranid back with bayonets once there ammo supply was gone. The soldiers even used ammo backs from dead comrades. The situation looked bleak. The troops knew they were doomed. The ordered came from the highest ranking officer left a sargent. "Prepare to Charge!!", He screamed. The Warriors of Deatharon knew there time was up. They all screamed, "long live the Empire." As they charged with bayonets at ready.

Warriors and Hormagaunts, with claws and blades atleast two feet in length, though some several feet in length.

Bayounets met with hard chitinous skin, which wouldn't be penetrated, stop short of firearms, and energy weapons, or extremely large steel weapons hefted right.

The star field surrounding the battle suddenly erupted into a thousand of bright flashes. Captain sunder took one look at the battle raging and immediately ordered the fleet to move in.

They flew in at dazzling speeds weaving in and out. The thousands of transports both large and small flew up to the sides of the deathron ships. As the "docked" along side the ships they cut there way into the hull of the captured fleet until they could see the firefight raging inside.

OOC:

Ahem...

Now then. Let's talk about acceptable FT parameters for ships, what's god moding, and what's not.

God modding: Sending "Thousands" of ships when a nation is so small.
Not god modding: Sending a few transports full of marines to *try* and assist

God modding: "Weaving in and out with dazzling speed", they are transports, usually slow moving, also moving in without giving me a chance to respond by firing on your ships.
Not god modding: Having your few transports try to weave in and around my ships who have the Deatharon ships completely surrounded, in their tentacle grasp, and the Deatharon ships being almost completely torn up.

Please, don't be like so many other newbies who think they are the best thing out there. Just start small, and work yourself up as your nation gets older.

If you would like me to take the post seriously, and RP this, then plese fix it. Otherwise I cannot respond to something like that.

OOC:

I almost fully agree with Azaha here. While your nation, The Arcadian Islands, probably can field a few thousands of ships, it is a touch unrealistic if you will be sending all your ships to assist Deatharon (leaving your own nation virtually defenseless).

Also, transports usually made but a small part of nation's fleet, so it is highly unlikely that your nation has more then 50 or so transports (100 is absolute maximum); though it is likely to have other space ships: fighters, destroyers, cruisers, etc (many of which are likely be able to carry troops as well). For comparison, when my nation had population of 488 million, I calculated my reasonable fleet size as 15000 battleships (my nation is unusual in the way it almost solely relies on huge battleship-class spaceships) with 500 men crew on each. Feel free to use this for making the size of your own fleet more reasonable.

God modding: "Weaving in and out with dazzling speed", they are transports, usually slow moving, also moving in without giving me a chance to respond by firing on your ships.

I cannot agree more; transports are usually (though not necessary) slower then military spaceships, especially space fighters. Even if you believe that your transports are pretty fast, it would be fair to give Azaha a chance to react; Azaha wouldn't live to 2+ billion population without coming up with some technological achievements of their own. ;) (Though if I remember correctly, Tyranids prefer to rely on sheer numbers, not technological achievements.)

In short, I second Azaha's advise for you: edit your last post to make the size of your fleet more realistic and make it so that Azaha gets the chance to respond to your ships' arrival.

OOC

just to clear things up I wasn’t trying to god mod so let me explain

Thousands of transports.....I meant about a thousand like 1034 or something but I put S so I can see how that looked. And I never sifted through all the post to see how many ships there were but I thought it was a safe bet that 1034 would be a small number for a fleet of Millennium falcon sized transports compared to the apparent size of your fleets. as for how I got so many let me clear up that they were indeed quite small and I planed to explain later that the Arcadian military heard of the battle and because they didn’t have a huge fleet they BBS (Buyed Borrowed or stole) every ship they could find. So they were civilian ships pressed into military service. The plan was to blow the ships up or program them to ram the enemy ships in an effort to give deathron the edge. But when they saw what was happening they moved in to save all those they could(Like what the British did at france during WW2).

Also Arcadians are master ship builders and I don’t think its that far fetched to say they could be quite maneuverable in the right hands (Han Solo millennium falcon).

I will edit my post but I will still move in and dock in the same post. You already killed most of the crew....in short I'm not destroying your fleet just saveing some deathrons. you can strike back wile were loading the crew or when were escapeing but we came in fast and I dont its unreasonable to say your fleet would be hard pressed to react to a fleet jumping and flying at high speeds. And just because your transports or slow doesn't mean they all are.

Also you dont have to be such a dick about it I made a mistake big deal I wouldent say my post was unfair I dident say I was here to destroy your fleet you prick I knew my place is supporting the big guys. I think his post completely disserved and dare I say asked for retribution. All he would have had to do was say hey man that’s way to many ships or hey man that’s a little unfair but know he decides to post like he is my superior. My guess is he took one look at how many posts I have made and labeled me as a noob. I doubt he considered that I had made a simple mistake. So he had to “show me the light” and lead me away from the path of noobness. Fact is if someone with more post under there belt came along and posted the same thing you would not have been nearly so rude towards them.

This one I love

Yes I really need all my posts to pass the test of the great Azaha. Don’t get me wrong here I like the idea that if someone post something that you don’t like just ignore it doesn’t matter if they may be right! I mean if I think a nation doesn’t have that many ships then it can’t right? Yes I did say Thousands instead of thousand but how were you to know how many transports I had! If you had waited you would have gotten all your answers but no that is something you would do if the person had more posts.

My point is your not my superior so don’t try and teach me a lesson. If I make a mistake by all means tell me I did but don’t treat me as a lesser player
