The City of Metz is playing host to an international summit to discuss the global situation and ease tensions.

Prime Minister Jean-Claude Weber:

"The Grand Duchy hopes we can use this conference to establish a global body, composed of all the states of the world, the likes of which has never been seen. This organization would be dedicated to promoting peace and justice worldwide, and would be absent of any petty partisanship."

the American Secretary of State, fresh from the London Treaty signing, arrives in Metz.

He wasn't hopeful, but he had proposals regarding extending the Hague and Geneva conventions, so if all else failed, perhaps those would be accepted.

Aiming his words at the American representative, Martinez spoke in clipped English, "My country would like to discuss the South American situation. Mainly on how to lower the tension building in the region and steps that can be taken to repair relations between the various states of the continent along with the United States."
