“Welcome to the Krendian News Service. Today, the first free elections for thirty years took place. The Communist Party of Krendakov came out top with 48.5% of the vote, with the Krendian Socialist Party coming in second with 32.8%. The Facio-Imperial Party had 8.9% of the vote, and the other parties consist of the remaining 9.8%. Acting President Aleksei Ognev did not run as the candidate for the Communist Party of Krendakov, leaving the place open for his absent wife: Chizura Ognev. Currently, Preidant Chizura Ognev is in Theao, at a conference. Her husband will take her place until she returns. It is hoped that these elections will result in era of greater freedoms for our people. Acting President Aleksei Ognev addressed the people of Krendakov earlier today, after a rendition of the new national anthem: ‘Freedom Everlasting.’ This replaces the previous anthem of ‘Bravely, Comrades to arms!’”
