Looking for a Nation to RP with...OOC

Good 'eve all,

I have quite a few Nations I roleplay with on here. None of them very well known, although I'm fairly experianced with Roleplaying on these boards. However, I lack "Connections," that's something I need for this new hankering I have...alternative history.

Not in your normal sence, not in the "Let's replay WWII" manner. But rather, in a MT-PMT Jules Vernian-style Nation that still runs on Steam Power (for the most part). I'm sure I'll get scoffed at for my ideas for this anachronism...but, I thought I would set aside goals of discord and conquest, and let go of the self-gratifying number and tech. wanking a lot of folks do...and simply, Roleplay. Make it more interesting than business deals or an all-too-frequent declairation of war. I want to make a story of it...something slightly more fulfilling than your average "New nation, give me weapons," and "Someday I'll destroy you all."

To do this, though, I need a willing volunteer, who'll play with me. An introduction...with Characters and more than just two leaders chit-chatting about promise of trade and coalition.

This new Nation of mine, is a very secluded desert-land, which used to be a subject of the British. Shortly after a sucession from British Rule, a wanna-be King, David Kane, the First, took privy to claim rule over the small, out-of-the-way Nation...and was actually successful in doing so, and managed to keep peace and relative tranquility, even whilest attempting to pass as a pseudo British King.

Any-who...this Nation, passing through the years and decades without much interuption from the outside world, in effect, creates its own little backwards technologies. Doing what it could with Steam Power, and truly little with the promise of the Combustion Engine. Cars are available, but sorely lack in the darptments of comfort...think 1920-30s euro-style.

The Government, and society itself is painfully oblivious to the outside world, allowing the succession of Kings to deal only with matters of the state, and squash the eventual rebellion hither and yon. As the Kings themselves in essence, coast along the decades, the family line seems to border more and more along the lines of "Eccentric."

It began with King Joseph(ine) Kane, the "Daughter" that King David Kane the III never had. Who took to the practice of ordering his Guard Detail to raid his Mother's panty drawer, in the interest of "immenent domain." He was eventually usurped by his younger brother, who saw his Brother's idle obsession with wearing garder belts, and nothing else, during grand balls, an afront to the Kingship.

Then there was the fine King Jacob Kane, who ruled from the inside of a large wooden shipping crate. He even had the throne cut to size, so that it would fit easily in the crate. No one can really explain that reign...it was unsurprisingly short, as Jacob Kane died at the age of 36, from an infection of a splinter wound.

The latest King has yet to suffer from indignities that seems to be inherent of the Simceiti Royal Family. In fact, he's quite a brilliant man. If not eccentric. He moved the Royal palace from the great castle of Aristan, to one he designed himself. Built of Stone and Iron, the electricity is supplied by an intricate clockwork set in motion by a giant pendulum. He is King Seth Kane, The Inventer.

This, is of course, where it all begins...as said before, I'm not creating this Nation so I can number-wank, and conquer my arse across the known world. I want to see the culture clash, the intrigue, the sudden wake-up, as this secluded Nation looks around and discovers that it's not alone.

Now that I'm done ranting, I'll drop the bottom line: I'm lookin' for someone to Rp a little introductory piece with.

Any Volunteers?

P.S. Hehe, 'Arse'...makes me sound very British. And it's fun to say.

Also, I'm having a little trouble pinning down its era...as, even though it will completely backwards, there will even be scant use of hydrolic-robots(again, Jules Verne-style)...in the interest of roleplay. These robots, however, will not be uber-soldiers in a million-robot army...but I don't know if having such technology would be believable in an MT-era nation...not that ability-of-belief is a major cause for concern with this. But still, it's nice to have a place. ;)

Yeah? What Comic is that? You'd laugh at me if I told you the inspiration for this. If you're interested in the proposal, perhaps we could chat abit about it? Sadly, I won't be on for long today, as I have to go to the City untill Saturday night.
