Axis Nova begins development of parachronic conveyors (FT)

Wha? What's a parachronic conveyor?

Parachronic conveyors, quite simply, are time machines that move laterally in time instead of forwards or backwards, allowing travel to alternate timelines, such as those where Hitler won World War II, or one where the Kool-Aid Man became president, or timelines where humanity never evolved.

Does this mean you can travel into the past and erase my nation?

Nope. Parachronic conveyors only move sideways in time, not forward or backwards.

Doesn't this violate the Temporal Accord?

Who cares? Indra Prime has no jurisdiction over other timelines.

What does this mean for Axis Nova?

Quite simply, it will allow us to procure resources, technologies, land to house our ever-growing population, and knowledge without the cumbersome troubles of having to deal with other nations in the 'main' timeline. In addition, it can also provide an escape hatch... if neccesary.

How will you know which timeline is the original?

Our scientists have discovered that each timeline has a certain unique 'resonance'. This can be used to identify and travel between them.

What if you ally yourself with alternate Axis Novas and create an unstoppable military?

Oddly enough, there only appears to be this one timeline where Axis Nova developed... we arn't sure why.

This is a godmod!

For PMT/MT, yes, which is why I will not be implementing it's effects in PMT/MT RPS.

OOC: Interesting idea.. if you manage to roleplay a convincing way of unlocking the technology, I might try to buy it off of you somehow :P

OOC: I have no intention of giving any other nation this unless forced to at the barrel of a gun =p

OOC: Cool! I wouldn't think these would violate the Accord anyway, as they're pretty much dimensional tech, not so much temporal. I might be interested in buying some of this, if I can think of some idea for an RP. Tourism maybe...

one really nice nice inconvenience:

If the entire galaxy happens to be controlled by a dictator or you land in a war zone you lose your nice and valuable tech.

This is why unmanned probes would be sent first.

What happens if an species was directly created by a being born before the begginign of the universe aka: a god.

OK what if another country/ empire has this tech and considers this a act of aggression and starts a war

I fail to see how this would be a big issue in any way.

OK what if another country/ empire has this tech and considers this a act of aggression and starts a war

Wouldn't matter. Without knowing Axis Nova's home timeline (and there would be no way to find that out without capturing a parachronic conveyor, which will be rigged to self-destruct if ever tampered with outside it's home timeline), no country/empire from another timeline would ever be able to seriously affect us.

If worst comes to worst, all that need be done is simply avoid that timeline and move on to easier pickings.

OOC: Oh boy oh boy! Another interdimensional nation! Welcome to the ranks of... uh... me and Balrogga are the only others, I think.

ME! AKA: Hobbeebia for those who didn't know. I go to the extremes of Dime-tech, I like to push to envelope. :)

Like how? Balrogga's stuff is pretty trippy, and the Godulans are roughly equal, though only due to separate specializations.

Edit: Keep in mind, I'm just curious as to what feats you're capable of. Right now, I'm kinda operating under the assumption that me and Balrogga had already thought of everything. Curiosity, y'know.

Lets work together here. TG me what you got and I will TG what I got...
Remember its Hobbeebia. I await your TG.

Sharina has interdimensional tech, but in late MT and only able to send a team through- no cars or anything larger than 2 tons.

My interdimensional tech is based off the SLIDERS TV show, and that show takes place in MT times.

This allows me to RP in all these Earths (Earth I, II, III, XXXXXX, etc.) as all I have to do is send in several charimastic leaders and seize control of nations in these Earth's. Not only that, but it allows for radio and electrical contact between my Earth's (radio, TV, internet, etc. tranmissions go through a mini-portal).

OOC: The way I plan to have this work is that control will not be so great-- it requires a lot of power to make a transition and on top of that it takes time-- thus I don't plan to incorporate this in any sort of FT weapons or anything like that.

OOC: So essentially it's just an idea your nation is icly making to wank away their superiority in certain areas and of course exploit the possibilities, while oocly it creates a possible chance for a new scope of good old fashioned rp or two going on. Awesome. Explore it more.

Good luck with it. Although it's very confusing for someone like me, who plans to start noting down my own development in areas such as temporal technology and dimensional technology, so on, that I can never seem to find enough references to what everyone else has. But that's my own private bitch, of no reason concern to you lot.

OOC:

One thing has always bothered me.

Whenever someone comes up with a novel and dramatic idea, it tends to end up being labelled as god-mod or wanking. I believe that's quite stupid, really.

Lets take this parallel universe travel thing for instance. My Sharina nation uses this technology to travel between all these Earth's and perfectly explains why and how Sharina can exist in Earth III, IV, V, Earth TLE, etc. My nation can communicate and send a few people (leaders and scientists mostly) between these Earth's, as well as radio, TV, and internet transmissions. This allows my nation to be able to RP in various Earth's.

Then there is the massive RP potential- something like sending teams or such to explore all those different Earth's. Let it be a Earth where the USA never formed, an Earth where the USSR won the Cold War, an Earth where WW III happened, an Earth where the South won the Civil War creating the Confederate States of America, and so on. There's literally thousands, if not millions of possible exciting Earth's to explore and RP out using parallel reality travel technologies.

People dare to call this wank or god-mod? Such close-minded people. They are losing out on a massive potential for some quite exciting and interesting RP's.

OOC: I said ICLY wank. Ie, governments make big guns to forcast their power and technological superiority. OOCLY, I recegnised it as a tool for some good roleplays that may come in the future. Because that post sure looked like it was aimed straight at me, and if it was that's a tickle-my-funnybone kinda hypocracy right there. :)

Not particularly aganist you, but it was aimed aganist those NS'ers who refuse to recongize new and novel concepts, or are too afraid to try out new RP stuff like parallel Earh's and such. This happens with other stuff... take nuclear powered aircraft for example. People cry "GODMOD!" when it actually was looked and researched in RL back then.

People tend to do that so that they don't have to lose their precious "edge" over other NS nations. Sometimes it strikes me as funny how insecure some NS players are to refuse good RP potential (for instance, a high-tech but small nation fights aganist a low-tech but huge nation) just so that they can maintain their number-wanked superiority "My nation has 1 billion more people than you! Automatic win for me! HAHAHA!".

I just wanted to get this off my chest because every time I try to start up a new and original RP (like my parallel Earth idea) people refuse to join because they're either too afraid to do so, or they prefer to nukk0rz each other to hell and back in these un-ending wars.

Take the book/movie war of the worlds earth had more population and its larger compared to Mars but thy lost (until those bacteria came)

but you are right about most techs being called god mod
take this thread for example http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=444356 lasers are under development and are due in 3-5 years and they cry out god mod (indirectly) but people can do some research

((Anyway, this is an interesting technology. Yes, it's basically multi-dimensional movement, but the entire idea of how you're going about it is very unique))
