Pananab's past, present, and future (Intro RP)

Pananab

((I know my NS page says otehrwise, but I don't know how to start out with anarchy, so...))
Pananab, a desertlike, barren, nation that has no place in this huge planet has no government to speak of. The people are poor and there are few things worth of value in Pananab, so there are few businesses, even less money to start one.

Most of the people are villagers, primitive in society. Few of them actually care about the government, or any other government.

There is one man who shows any promise of becoming any sort of leader in Pananab, the leader of an army from a nation not so that much unlike Pananab. General Showkes has been attempting to gain power in Pananab to start the nation's society as it once was in ancient times, but the villagers are unresponsive. So the General has been simply expanding his influence by helping the people with his army and acting as the only law.

Most of the people in Pananab are grateful for the help. Tehre is little need for police work, since they haven't had a crime since the ancient times in which Pananab was once a grand empire, spanning almost as far as the Roman Epire once had. But when the Empire had no reason to grow anymore because it had so many alies and friends outside and within, it simply decayed. The Royal Family melted into society, never to be found. The treasures once claimed by the great empire have been lost, only to be found by foreign explorers for their profit.

Some of the people are resentful towards the General because foreigners are getting rich off of their heritage, so the General has started to instate restrictions on archeological findings. All expeditions are to be gaurded and supervised by his personal appointees. All finds can be bought or loaned fromthe General himself so he can help start a formal governm, ent in Pananab.

It may seem that all is well in Pananab, with teh General well on his way to restoring the nation to the glory it once knew, but foreign nations have something else to say in the matter...

OOC: Okay, so I'd like to have 1-5 nations try and annex Pananab and occupy it, which is perfectly legal since Pananab technically does not exsist as a nation. So please, sign up here.

For those who want to help Pananab keep independance or help the General, that's fine, too, but I still want to be occupied at least for a little while.

OOC: The Dominion is always looking to expand...

IC: The Pudite government had been monitoring General Showkes's progress in the land once known as Pananab for many weeks now, at the orders of the Emperor himself. Ever since the old government collpased the area was under constant surveillence via 5 ViZon UAVs flying from a small carrier group based in international waters off the coast. Most of the reports were unimportant to the government, and as such were lost in the huge, choked, overworked bureaucracy of the Dominion. They all spoke of the minor operations of the so-called General and any sort of organised conflict thought to become a possible threat. Something important had however had leaked through to the upper reaches, and someone took notice...

Admiral Harroun had been put in charge of the reclimation operation, known now as 'Faded Glory'. He himself considered it at the very least a dishonour, and at most an effort to get him killed. He had under his command three entire OPARR fleets, the 3rd, 4th, and his own prestigous 1st Fleet. They had gathered four days earlier at the port city of FA-37, and were now moving at full speed towards the shores (assuming you have a few?) of the fallen empire. Aboard the fifty-four ships of the OPPAR fleets there was a total of 21,000 soldiers, 18 GT-6 MBTs, 74 Mi-28 Havoc Helicopters, 120 MiG 31 Fulcrum Interceptors, 12 Braveheart Howitzers and 134 HMMWU Humvees. They will arrive in six days with orders to restore order within a fifteen mile radius and set up a foritfied beach head to recive further support, which was even now being gathered and briefed.

The operation is being treated as a 'liberation', not a conquest. The native people will be inducted as full legal members of Pudite society after a short scan, and will be, at their own discrecion, either deported to the Dominion or remain where they are. Once area is secured houses and Farmer and Artisan caste construction teams will be imported, and the area will begin its transformation into a Pudite territory. The process is expected to take two and a half years. No problems are expected...

"General, we've spotted ships off of the coast. They look like military ships of some sort. What should we do?" a young Lieutanant asked over the radio. The General, relaxing in a small hut, large for Pananab standards, picked up the transmitter and replied,
"Ignore it. Pananab has yet to be invaded since the empire's collapse. Remember, we welcome visitors of all sorts. If they're part of some war and they need help, we'll oblidge."
"Sir, they look like they're loaded for bear."
"Must be a big battle coming up for them. Keep your eyes open, then, but if they contact you, give them what they want. No need to get the wrath of a modern army against us."
"Understood, sir."

Taskforce Revak, somewhere near Pananab

Lady Admiral Raditz leaned over the charts table, GPS readings, TACCOM and ANGEL reports where scattered across it, giving little to no hint as to what lay underneath.
But what was clear that she and the Royal Southern Fleet had taken a wrong turn somewhere during a storm that swept the entire fleet into different directions, and now only remnants of the 4th and 1st Squadrons where with her, drastically lowering the defences the fleet was to offer for her flagship the Longinus and its merchant vessels.

Although by the looks of it, the Longinus would need little support; as a Emperor class Super Dreadnought, more then capable of dealing with any lesser foe or match that it could encounter. But the Lady Admiral was worried none the less, the merchants where not supposed to last this long without re-supply and the only landmass was a half-desert called "Pananab" with little to no contact up till now. Angelica looked over the charts once more, reviewing the orders she'd just gotten, a fleet of re-supply vessels would arrive in less then a week but they'd have to fend for themselves until they arrived.

Frustrated she threw the order file across the room, smack dead into her aide standing near the door. "Peterson, stop loafing around and send out a distress call! There might be people here, and they might have supplies." Peterson hurriedly scurried off; leaving the Royal Navy's only female admiral to ponder her situation till help arrived.

This is the Dreadnought Longinus, we are in urgent need of supplies and repairs, if is there is anyone receiving this, please respond on this channel....I repeat, this is the Dreadnought Longinus, we are in need of urgent help...

The man was walking back and forth, he had been for nearly five miniutes. He was talking, along with the other fifty-two captians and Admiral Harroun on the same channel over thir radios. They had been going over the last few details of their landing plan, as they had every night for the past seven days. They all knew it by heart by now, the Admiral knew it, but he continued, to make sure there were no mistakes.

About six miniutes ago the shore had come into veiw, thats when the Admiral put out his call to the captians. Upon locating the three areas that had been indentified as the landing sites for the three fleets. Heicopters were loaded up with their compliments of men and supplies, for after the troops hit the beach. Different Helicopters were being filled with Special Operations men trained for anti-insugency warfare. Twenty of these teams were being preped.

After Harroun finished his sermon to the captians he ordered them to switch him over to the PA systems on the ships. His deep, booming voice could be heard all throughout the fleet, blanketing the waves with his voice,

"Operation Faded Glory is a go!"

With that order the engines of 450 Seasprite LCACs roared to life and surged forward. each of them would make several ships beneath the cover of the helicopters patrolling the area and transporting further troops and supplies. The landing had begun...

****************************************************

As the LCACs were being launched the radio operator abour the 'Weight of Heresy', the falgship of Admiral Harroun was ordered to send a warning to anyone still remaining on the mainland. The radio message was sent out to the shore, on all channels, reapeating the same message over and over.

"This is a message from the Imperial Pudite Naval Corps, this area is claimed by the Emperor. Stand down. Any personnel within 15 miles of our current position is to immediatly stand down and surrender their weapons to the nearest Pudite Marine Platoon. Any found armed or in a spirit of resistance will be detained until firther notice. Any physical resistence will be met with deadly force. You have been warned.

OOC: The fleet is aiming to land on a deserted stretch of beach, far away from anyone. If all you beaches are being watched, or are obviously fortified then we are landing in the most rural area avalable.

Also, what is the terrain like in your nation?
Pananab
17-09-2005, 00:46
OOC: Pananab is very desertlike, not much greenery or anything except for the center of the nation.
IC:
The lieutanant had picked upo the transmission and relayed it to the General.

"They're claiming our beaches?"

"Yes, sir."

"This is bad...I don't want to fight them, but we can't exactly allow them to claim Pananab, either. Hold your positions and don't engage the invading soldiers. I'm on my way."

The General rushed to his armored Technical pickup truck and ordered his driver to head to the beack where the Emperor Pudu forces were landing.
----
Two dozens soldiers were stationed in the nearest village, including the radio Lieutanant. All of them were armed with AK-47s and no body armor. They lived amongst the villagers in peace, only to defend their army and their people to the best of their abilities. They knew their orders. Don't fire on the invaders unless they deliberately attacked any of the soldeirs or the civilians and the General would arrive soon with more men. They had their guns ready and eyes the invaders suspiciously.

OOC: Thanks, Dumpsterdam knew so I guess I missed something...

IC: The LCACs blew up to the shore and dropped the front ramp into the soft golden sand. Rows and rows of troops pured out, each forming up into companies about one-hindered and fiftey yards from the shore. Helicopters had already dropped boxes of supplies and a few soldiers, who were buisy organising the supplies and setting up a series of tents to serve as a base camp. Radios were being hauled out of boxes, orders were being shouted across the sands, and small sandstorms were being kicked up as even more helicopters dropped their compliments of troops and vehicles onto the beach.

Three of the one-hundred and five 200 man companies soon to be arrayed on the Pananabian beach would soon go out on patrol, two heading up the coast to the north and south, and one heading inland to scout out the small town the helicopters had spotted not to far from the landing zone.

Three platoons would move into the town, and one would move along either side, hopefully encircling it. Two GT-6 tanks would accompany them to provide whatever kind of armour support they might need. When the helicopters flew over the town was empty, as far as they could tell, but that might not be the case now...

The 1st Platoon, led by Captian Vyacheslav Temnikov, was going to lead the way into the town. Vyacheslav was a seasoned officer, having lead his men for the past twenty-three years. He knew all his men like children, and they were the closest he would ever come, because Military class Noble caste members were not allowed any children untill their thirtey year term was used up, and only then if they got permission from their surperior officer after retirment. He had resinged this fact however, and didn't much care anyway.

He made a quick hand motion to the closest of his sergeants,

"Duschov! Bring second squad around and set up those guns on the hill. Tell Third squad to spread out and move forward, I'll be behind them."

"Yessir"

The sergent nodded as he was backing away, then turned and jogged over to his ten men, pointing over to the dune the Captian had dictated. The AKA-47s weredropped down, tripods ready, guns trained on the streets of the town. Although accuracy would be horrible at this range, the simple noise of the three guns was supposed to get the same results. Sergeant Duschov also pulled out his Dragunov SVDK, to compliment the heavy guns with a little accuracy

The other twenty men, along with the eighty men following them, advanced south towards the town down the hill. Expecting trouble, they held their AK-107s up and ready. Although most understood their strict orders not to fire untill provoked, some of the newer men might have a loose trigger finger...

The people of the village looekd out their hut's windows to watch what the soldiers were doing. The Lieutanant approached one of the men, his AK slung around his shoulder.

"Excuse me, but who is your commanding officer? It is urgent that I speak with him."
Emporer Pudu
17-09-2005, 02:16
The man pointed quickly to Temnikov and stepped aside, as he felt the Captians hand o his shoulder. Temnikov stepped froward, adressing the man calmly, much in contrast to the shouting his Sergeant recived not five miniutes ago.

"I am the Commanding officer here. Who might you be?"

The captian slung his AK-107 over his shoulder, via shoulder strap, and put his hands in his pockets.

The rest of the men of the three platoons haulted behind the two officers, calmly waiting for the order to continue the advance.

Captian Temnikov took his hands out of his pockets and turned and reached over to rip the patch off the shoulder of the man next to him, which he did, and then tossed the flag to the Lieutanant.

"Take this to your General. We are your conquerors, the Imperial Naval Corps of The Dominion of Emperor Pudu. We are in control here."

The captian unslung his gun and continued,

"You are your men will be kept here, under guard, until you return."

"But do you really know if I have other men here? It could be just me here. Or perhaps this is an ambush? It doesn't matter. Pananab is not our nation. I am a member of General Stowe's army. We have no nation. We simply exsist alongside the people of Pananab. We deal with foreigners and tehy supply us with men and let us have a share of their profits from findings of their past. If the people of Pananab wish to become part of Pudu, that is fine by us. If they do not wish it, you will respect their decision or we will fight you, but your dealings are not with us either way. It would not be wise to kill one of Stowe's lieutanants. He is a man of many connections."
Barkozy
17-09-2005, 03:04
Barkozy was an anarchy, much like Pananab, but unlike the peaceful sedimentary attitudes of the villagers in the barren country, Barkozians were unabashedly violent. Where Pananab was a poor barren wasteland, though, Barkozy was rich in natural resources, infrastructure, and arms. The issue, then, was not an invasion in a military conquest sense, but in industry.

Factories in Barkozy were poor investments and owners generally come out at a loss due to both security issues and a lack of industrial goods. The major militias all had agricultural subsidiaries, which created the militia-farmer, fighting 8 months a year and farming the rest of the year. They ran meager processing industries, but agriculture wasn't very profitable in comparison to the literal diversity and strength in economic terms of the importers. Importers were the most powerful men in Barkozy. They had sole access to many goods, including those that required modern industrial technology, such as computers and other electronics.

"Hall, I know farming isn't easy money, but you're setting up a factory in the middle of a desert in some god-forsaken country."

"Are you trying to tell me it can't be done?"

"No, sir. But.. how do you intend to do this? You know that there are real countries involved here."

"Yes, but I'm sure they won't notice a factory down a river. They are all over the beaches, so we must use the large river..."

Hall pointed at a winding blue line on a map.

"..here. If we do this we can beat the importers at some of their own game. I'm doubtful, though, that this will seriously destroy them."

"It would be counterproductive to destroy the importers. They provide us with things we could never make ourselves economically."

"Yes, but we must compete. Supplies for the factory will be dropped by air. We have two aircraft available that can do it, and we will make use of both of them. The first to arrive will be an armed engineer platoon out of Marcos along with supplies for the temporary airfield and some general supplies."

"I will arrange it, sir."

Later..

Two silhouettes of large planes flew high above the clouds. It was a long flight, and at last they arrived near the drop zone. The degree of settlement or exact terrain was unknown, and for some of the men on the planes it was exciting. Soon enough parachutes fell from the sky with human silhouettes or large boxes being slowed in descent. The drop was relatively successful, all of the people survived, but some of the crates fell uselessly into the river. This only became clear when they stopped cheering at their new home.

Gombös stood and looked around at the desert and his men. He walked to one of the crates that landed and found inside some metal grating. This was meant for the temporary airstrip. Sand alone could not support a plane, particularly a large one. These grates were extremely useful for building an airfield and were needed more than anything else because only limited amounts and types of supplies could be parachuted. What he didn't find shocked him, though. Only one of the crates had food and water, the rest, it seemed, were carried into the river by the wind.

"What are we going to do, Istvan?"

Gombös shook his head.

"You'll have to ration the food. Get the radiomen calling for a second drop full of food and water and everybody else working on the airfield. It would be unfortunate if this ended so quickly. I will make my way out and be back at night. Go ahead and light the runway torches so that I can find my way back. If I'm not back you guys call for an evacuation because a hellhole like this is no place for a factory."

The second-in-command nodded and walked back to the men. Istvan Gombös was about to explore more uncharted territory, looking for food, towns, anything. If there was one thing on his mind, it was to ask how the hell he convinced himself to do this. After two hours he simply stumbled his way across the desert until he found what looked like a village.

(OOC: Out of place? Stupid? Feel free to comment.)

The Captian seemed disgusted that this man would respond to him after he was given an order, he was used to instant reaction, but he refrained from doing anything harsh.

"Firstly, You would not come here alone, at least not if you had a shred of sence. Secondly, I don't care if you work for the Archangel Gabriel you WILL listen to me when I talk to you. Like I said, this is out territory now and you are trespassing."

***************************************************

"Sir! We have just recived confimation from the 'Weight of Heresy' that the radar blip we saw was indeed a plane."

The young man looked up to the Captian standing over him. He looked impatient.

"Well?"

Well, sir, That means there are two unidentified planes moving over Pananab airspace"

The captian looked at the floor for a second before responding, apparently attempting to calm himself down.

"SO! We have seen dozens of aircraft flying over this desert. General whatsisface had a few last week, remember, you got that report right?"

"Well, no sir, apparently it was lost..."

The Captian almost laughed,

"Well, I missed it to, but I talked to someone who got it and what he described could have been these."

"I really don't think so sir, the computer says that this is not of any past Pananab design."

"Well, get a team up in the air, find out where they are going!"

"But what if I am working for the Archangel?" the Lieutanant asked. The eleven other Stowe soldiers and at least two dozen villagers were aiming AKs at teh Captain.

"He seems to smile apon me."

Two hundred to three dozen wasn't very good odds for teh Lieutanant, but he hoped that the General was coming with a sizeable force. Stowe's army was rather vast, collecting men as it traveled the world from region to region. Stowe was a man of many contacts. He had soldiers in every corner of the nation, enough to put up a good enough resistance to an average modern army. He had no aircraft, but his men were loyal, trained well, and Stowe had plenty of money to give each man food and a gun.

"Like I said, I am not a citizen of this country. I am a soldier in Stowe's army. And if these men do not wish to be your citizen, then you will respect that. Otherwise, you're just going to have to shoot that man and you've just lost a would-be citizen."

The roar of pickup engines with a heavy load could be heard even over the helicopter and military vehicles. The village, hardly consisting of fifty people, was surrounded by what the Lieutanant hoped to be over four hundred of Stowe's soldiers as his ears told him. The Lieutanant hoped that this would make the Pudu army back off for discussions to take place. If the General heard shots, he would order an attack and Pudu might level the village and then use its modern weaponry to decimate Stowe's forces. He just hoped the captain cared about himself and his men.

"I am on someone else's land. But they let me on. You are the tresspasser here. They let me on to make sure youknow where you are."

"I know exactly where I stand in this matter, thank you. It happens to be directly in front of two of our own GT-6 Main Battle Tanks. You, however, seem to lack such heavy armour..."

The Captian had his AK-107 leveled at the officers stomach, and the one-hundred and twenty men behind him did likewise. After a second of looking at the brave officer Temnikov mumbled something into a speaker on his collar. The trap was set, all they needed now was to hook the fish...

Atop dunes to either side of the small town there stood forty men, each an entire platoon of the IPNC. They began their march down towards the village. Any resistance now would be met with force, deadaly force. Both of the tanks standing behind the Captian roared to life as well, and the troops in front parted before their might. They too rolled forward, each one going around the Captian, as he stood still. The men of the First, Second, and Third platoons stayed put as well, staring down the reckless Lieutenant.

"I do belive you are tresspassing now Lieutenant, this is Pudite ground!"

"This is General Stowes. We'll be mor ethan happy to help you restock with what we can spare, but I'm afraid we cannot repair your vehicles, we lack the materials and training needed to do so. But we'll do what we can, Longinus."
------
One of the villagers spat on the Captain feet and said something in his native language since he doesn't speak English.
"He says that this is pnly Pudite ground if he says so, and he spits at your claim on his land," one of the soldiers translated for the captain.

The Lieutanant smiled as he spotted streaks of rocket headed toward the village.
"We may not have armor, but we have enough anti-armor."
He laughed as two rockets hit the tanks head-on, causing a huge explosion as the AP rockets made a direct hit.
-----
A part of General Stowe's reinforcements split off to meet the Pudite reinforcements headed down the hill. The General shouted over a megaphone,
"This is General Stowes. You will stand down and come out of the village with your hands up or we will retake the village. We outnumber you and outgun you. You will not win this fight."

The captian watched as one of his Tanks exploded before his eyes, not ten feet from him. The other was mearly Immobilized, and returned fire as soon as it could.

"Lieutenant, you may outnumber us, and even now outgun us, but his is our land now and we will all die for it!"

With that Temnikov fired two quick bursts into the enemy officers stomach. All around him his roops were openeing fire on the village. RPG shots were seen streaking down into the village, causing much colateral damage and hopefully taking out a few men as well. The fireteams up on the dunes open fire ith their RPK-107 LMGs, tearing up the roads and deafening those around them. Snipers, laying alongside the machine gunners began also began firing. One of the only men not either shooting, dying, or advanceing was the communications officer of second platoon, who was informing HQ of the attack, and calling for renforcements.

"SIRS! We're under fire! There are hundreds of them, we need more men!"

The redio officer was scared, yes, but he was not panicing. He had survive many battles under Captian Temnikov, and he trusted him with his life.

"Radioman, what is your current position!"

"We're just outside the small village recon spotted three days ago, its full of the generals troops!"

"Stay there son, the cavalry is on the way."

With that seven more divisions were mobalized, totaling fourteen hundred men, as well as two twelve man Special Ops teams in their UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters. The remaining four tanks, protected by thirty-five Humvees went out as well. Airstrikes were being called in, hopeing to hit the town after the Captian and his men had reteated or died, but before the other seven companies arrived. Five MiG 31 Fulcrums, being the only planes they had ready, were dispatched to his the town. They were not going to lose this land.

OOC: Let's strike a deal: Stowes wins the first fight and retreats, regroups, then suffers a huge loss, causing him to retreat.

IC:
A woman came out of her hut and kicked one of the soldiers in the shins and screamed,
"This is OUR land and WE will fight for it! Do your worst, Stowes!"
The men backed away and fired on the enemy soldiers as General Stowe's reinforcements charged on the village. General Stowes had his own snipers on a plateau overlooking the village. The Pudite snipers did their damage, but Stowe's snipers had seen dozens of battles across the world. Aiming carefully, Stowe's snipers elimitated their Pudite counterpart's ability to see by taking out their scopes or hitting the men themselves.
Most of teh men inside teh village were killed or severely wounded, but there were enough to hold their own. Women and children fled, headed for Stowe's army. Stowe looked up and spotted the helicopters headed for the village. tehy would have to win this battle quickly. Their RPGs were meant for Anti-tank, hitting fast-moving helicopters would be difficult. His Technical would be the only one really capapable of hitting the helicopters, and the chopper's armor wouldn't do them any favors.

Another RPG made another head-on shot to the damaged tank and threee technicals unloaded men in the village, which fired on teh Captain and his men.

OOC: Oooo, I found a laptop...

IC: The Pananabian snipers were much more skilled than first expected, taking heavy tolls on the advancing soldiers and the snipers. The remains of the support squads left on the dunes had been severly reduced, and so gave up their supporting fire and charged the village behind their commrades.

The original 200 men had taken heavy casualties from the men in the village. They had the advantage of knowing the terrain, and exploited that advantage. Almost sixty men were dead or dying within the first ten miniutes of the firefight.

The destruction of the second tank after getting of only two shots was depressing, but it was almost expected after the first rocket salvo destroyed the first one. All the men behind the Captian were now in the village, moving form house to house clearing each one of the fighters as they went, however each time the fight was harder, and more of the Pudite soldiers were lost. After the first block was cleared almost half of Temnikov's men were dead. He knew he could not continue like this. He and his men holed up in one of the few two-story buildings left after the RPG shots from the original advance. They would wait here for their renforcements.

The General knew victory was at hand for this battle. The village was already abandoned, so he felt no regret leveling it. He ordered for the building containiong the Captain to be destroyed. Four rockets hit the already-weak structure and it collapsed from the bottom up. The General looked through his binoculars and saw that the Pudite reinforcements were almost apon them. He ordered the women and children loaded into the Technicals and for them all to retreat. The six men left in the village ran to join the rest of the army. This was a victory of the modern army, but a draw when it came to the war.
----
General Stowes and his large armytraveled for many hours until they were at the next village. It was the largest city in Pananab, and probably the only one that had any chance of growing anytime soon. Panrabia was once the capital of the Pananab Empire before it decayed and it served as General Stowe's base of operations. It was heavily fortified and it had the largest market in the entire nation. Almost a thousand men were garrisoned as normal people alone and over three hundred more were on active duty. The General had lost most of the men in the village and thirty men in the battle. Most of those men he brought were General Stowe's personal force, which traveled with the General.

Panrabia would not be easily taken.

The only armor that the General was able to bring to Pananab was also hidden underground for surprise purposes. The tunnels underneath surrounded the entire city, making ambushes easy. The city was surrounded by Plateaus, allowing for snipers to cover the city, as well. It was well-defended, but not undefeatable.

OOC:Mind if I join in? Say, I find an oil deposit in Pananab and want it?
IC:A single Tech-Com S-3 Survey Sattelite swept over the barren desert. Now the primary method of detecting underground deposits of natural resources by the Tech-Com Corporation, it could locate coal, iron, oil, or other mineral deposits from outer space utilising a variety of methods. Its buzzer went off on one of the instruments.

A Tech-Com Corporation Sattelite Control Center, Central Desert, Red Tide

The buzzer went off infront of the Tech-Com Technician. He looked at it, his eyes widened and he promptly printed out a sheet of paper. It was oil... and a massive deposit from the looks of it.

The news went quickly up stairs, from one manager to their boss, to their bosses boss, etc. etc. etc. When it reached the Tech-Com CEO.

"My god..." He breathed as he lifted the personal phone to the Supreme Commanders office.

After a few minutes of discussion, it was agreed, the 3rd Red Tidean Airborne Division with an Engineer Brigade Attached would paradrop into Pananab near the oil field. They would secure a perimeter and set up a airstrip so a Mechanized-Infantry Division could be flown in.

The K-10s were on their way.

OOC: Sure. It'll make for some interesting RPs later on.

Okay, so here's what I have planned now: The Pudu military attacks Panrabia and defeats Showe's army there and he and his remaining forces flee. The RedTide occupation of the oil field brings prosperity to the area and the area grows. Pudu and RedTide, that could cause a bit of a conflict there, so...

Anyway, General Stowe finds a new hiding place and gets a steady income of money, equipment, and men as they grow and get ready to retake Panrabia and the growing area that RedTide occupies finds that terrorism is starting to become popular and start facing inssurgents that are trying to drive RedTide away under Stowe's banner.

This RP is just for the beggining of the occupation, how it all started, so we should have some good RPs later.

OOC: Yeah, with me, Red Tide, Dumpsterdam, and that guy building the factory all in the country, and most of us with modern armys I was just wondering how long it would take for you to adopt a kind of (Special Ops)troops in the counry, and if you begin fighting that way we might call in more.

IC: Colonel Budonev sat down on a large block of building that had been 'liberated' from a larger building by General Stowes men not fifteen miniutes before. He look around him, at his officers calling out orders, and beyond them to the groups of men hauling sandbags and small chucks of rack and building.

They were beggining to construct the fortifications around the town. Although most of it was flattened the High Command had decided it was worth fighting. Although he could not see it he knew there were still other men farther outside the town, they were digging the graves required to bury the 168 people that were killed taking the town. The remaining thirtey-two men were seriously wounded when the Colonel's forces had arrived. Soon more helicopters would arrive with another company of men, and a load of supplies. This was going to be the Pudite forward base.

******************************************************

The airstrip was finnaly complete back at the beach. It had taken five days and eleven-hundred men, but it was finished. It was even now reciving traffic. A large cargo plane was being unloaded. Aboard it were six GT-6 tanks and more supplies, most of them were the requisitioned supplies needed for construction of the towers that were being planed around the base.

Yesterday the men on the beach had recived word that there were a further 250,000 men on their way. They would probably arrive in a week, along with a little more armour to replace that which was lost at the village that was now being reffered to as E01-02.

Patrols were now solid around the base. At all times there were at least two platoons patrolling the fifteen miles surrounging the base. There was almost constant radio contact with the base, every ten miniutes they called in, so any attack would be noted and responded to via the dozens of the helicopters back on the beach.

The K-10s came in at about 15,000 feet.

"RED LIGHT! ON YOUR FEET!" A Lieutenant yelled.

"YELLOW LIGHT! CHECK THE MAN INFRONT OF YOU!" The men began to do so, each one yelling that the one infront of them was good to go.

"GREEN LIGHT! GO! GO! GO!" Man after man tumbled out of the door of the K-10 Cargo Plane. Their cords pulled, their parachutes opened.

Some K-10s opened their cargo ramps, and APC-45s and LBT-44s rolled out down them, both of these vehicles were para-droppable.

There where two women and one man in a dark, misty room with nearly dream-like outlook. It was full of advanced technology but with many rust and wires laying everywhere. One women lays on a bed and other is sitting in front of her. The only man in this room was sitting in front of his old-fashion radiostation.
"What do you see, Nadya?" asked woman sitting on a chair (apparently an officer) in front of sleeping one. Laying woman started to sweat.
"There is an invasion." said woman in trance.
"An invasion?"
"Our ally, Pudu, is invading a barren land of peaceful people."
"Come back to our world Nadya." Sleeping women woke up. "Write down a raport!" -said sitting woman- "Radio-operator! Inform our headquarters about situation."

When General Stowe was asleep he had a dream. It was a very cold day and there where nothing but sand and General when he noticed woman standing in dark-blue robes behind him. "You are not alone General, help will arrive from cold world. Its banner will be the Black Sun."

"Sir, "

Yelled the radiman,

"We have identified another group of airplanes heading over Pananab airspace at about 15,000 feet. It appears they are dropping something."

The officer stood up again, tired of these reports.

"What! Is so great about their damn airspace that every dictatorship and its cousin in this region is dropping stuff on it!"

The radioman turned back to his station. Apparently reciving another report. He stared straight ahead for a miniute, then looked back to the officer standing over him.

"Yes, it has been confirmed. Another drop is in progress. We can't know for sure if it's the same guys who dropped those crates by the river a few days ago, but we think it is."

"Alright, tell me if they choose to littler all over any other peice of thi god-foresaken desert."

"Will do sir."

Two Special Ops teams were being breifed and loaded onto their helicopters on the landing pad of E01-02. One of them was bound for the newest assumed drop zone, the other was headed down the river to try and locate the drop that had occured a few nights ago. Both numbered twelve men, armed with AK-107s. They would hopefully both arrive between the hours of 10 PM and 11-Thirty PM, according to which drop zone they were checking out.

OOC:I have para-dropped a single Red Tidean Airborne Division with an extra Engineer Brigade attached(25,000 men). A Red Tidean Airborne Division is a mix of a Red Tidean Infantry Division and a Red Tidean Mechanised Infantry Division. A Red Tidean Infantry Division moves medium-long distances by truck(otherwise, they walk). A Red Tidean Mechanised Division contains APCs, LBTs, and MBTs. In a Red Tidean Airborne Division, 1/3 of the foot soldiers move by APCs, the rest move by trucks. The Engineering Brigade is mostly equipped with mine clearing and other equipment designed for engineering tasks.

ALL vehicles in a Red Tidean Airborne Division(and an Engineer Brigade) are paradroppable. A APC-45 is the Red Tideans primary Armored Personnel Carrier. It is armed with dual 30 mm Machine Cannons, most effective against Infantry and Aircraft, but slightly less effective against non-armored vehicles, but moderately less effective against lightly armored vehicles, absolutely useless against medium-heavily armored vehicles(IE:APCs, IFVs, LBTs, and MBTs). For medium-heavily armed targets they carry 4 ATGM-1 Wire Guided Anti Tank Missiles. An LBT-44 is armed with a single 105mm cannon, 2 RPK-74 Machine Guns(one co-axial, one mounted), and can come equipped with either 4 MDM-2 SAMs or 2 HATMs(Heavy Anti-Tank Missile). The latter is designed to take out virtually any tank in the world. Its crude, heavy, and somewhat inaccurate, but man-o-man it can kill a tank! For Infantry Weapons, look for my post on the first page of this thread: http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=443123

Now enough ranting... on to my IC Post!

IC:The first soldiers hit the ground and immediatly began to secure the area with utmost efficiency. In the desert there were not any trees to get stuck in so they suffered no casualties, came upon no resistance.

After a couple of minutes a full Battalion was on the ground. And there were still soldiers coming in over a somewhat large radius. These soldiers would then band up into their sqauds, which would band up into platoons, which would then band up into comapnies, which would band up into battalions, etc. etc. etc.

Then the Pudu helicopter arrived, the Puduians(is that right?) would clearly see that this was not a equipment drop. It was a drop of a full scale airborne division(as if the massive number of cargo planes and large number of parachutes had not indicated that).

OOC: Its called Pudite. (this post assumes one of you wont blow my helicopter out of the sky as soon as you see it. If you would tell me and I'll edit this.)

IC: The helicopter had taken about an hour and a half to get to the drop site, arriving at about eleven fifteen at night. As the Blackhawk neared the area's coordinates given to them they began to spot groups of soldier moving towards one central location. It was obvious that this was not a simple cargo drop. The helicopter circled above the location seeming to be the most populated before it began to set down.

About one-hundred and fifty yards away from the largest group the chopper set down. Under the dust cloud sent up by the blades twelve men leapt out of the side doors, each moving in a different direction out, away from the helicopter about five yards before they stopped and fell into a kneeling position, scanning the area with their AK-107s.

After the dust cleared a thirteenth man stepped out of the helicopter, his long grey trenchcoat flowing out behind him. On his head sat a large grey had, with the brim covering most of the back of his head and his face. He carried no visible weaponry, nor did he seem especialy well built. He walked outside of the ring of soldiers and approached the first Red Tideian soldier he saw.

"My name is Mr. Grey, I need to speak with your commander"

A Red Tidean Officer stepped forward,

"Lieutenant 5136. The general is not on the ground yet. The senior commanding officer currently on the ground is a Colonel. Follow me, please." He said in reasonable English(Red Tideans are predominantly Russian). The Lieutenant led Mr. Grey to a man in a Russian Colonels uniform. Next to him was a major, they were both looking at a field map. The Colonel looked up as the Lieutenant apporached. He smiled and stood up, the Lieutenant saluted. And spoke(in Russian),
"A Mr. Grey wants to see you sir."
"At ease Lieutenant."
The Colonel turned to Mr. Grey and held out his hand.
"Hello there, and what brings you to our little camp?"

IC: Mr. Grey shook the mans hand, staring him straight in the eye, not fliching, or adjusting his balance in the slightest. He said to the Colonel, (in perfect Russian)

"I have come to learn who you are, why you and your men have landed here, how long you will stay, and if any more of you will be arriving anytime in the future."

Eleven of the Special Ops men back at the helicopter stayed where they were, adopting more relaxed sitting position, with their guns still covering the area around their transport. The last man stood up and followed Mr. Grey over to the Colonel, listening to the conversation and nodding at all the right times, but saying nothing.

18-09-2005, 03:32
The Colonel was slightly surprised when Mr. Grey spoke in Russian, he sighed, "I have not been given the details... our current orders are to secure the area so our engineers can build an airstrip, which we will probably use to supply and bring in more troops, how many, and for what reason? I have not been told, but I am a soldier and soldiers are not supposed to question their superiors orders... usually. I do not believe you are a native, where do you hail from?"

18-09-2005, 03:51
Mr. Grey stopped for a miniute, thinking about how much he should tell this man, he finaly decided.

"I am authorized only to tell you that me and these men hail from the Dominion of Emperor Pudu. We have come here to liberate those who are native to this land, and install a new government after toppeling the currenty reigning dictator."

He stood waiting for a response from the Colonel

The fortifications were in place, and the dead were buried. The fourteen hundred men sent to E01-02 had fulfilled the first of their objectives, and even now Humvees were being choppered in from the beach to support thise already here.

Once they arrived the men would begin patroling the region around the town. Groups of four Humvees would move in a ten mile radius every day, looking for any more signes of the enemy or any kind of counter attack. When they had secured the area surrounding them they would begin the search for the General, who they belived to have fled to another town nearby, but they were not certian.

*****************************************************

Back at the beach the first of soon to be seven semi-underground bunkers were being built surrounding the now-wooden building that was the command senter until they finished its bunker. Surrounding them would be the tents of the one-hundred and forty-six companies stationed there. There was a motor pool among these tents as well, its bunker was the first to be completed, as they needed a cool place to keep all the gasoline and ammunition.

Fifteen wooden towers were also being constructed about 200 yards from the outermost tents. Each would have a 50. caliber machine gun mounted in it, beneath a wooden roof. They were manned by three men, a spotter, a gunner, and a radioman. They were the first line of defence of the base was going to be attacked.

Soon the men would begin digging the pits to hold the SAM missile battery that was going to be sent there, but, as Pananab had displayed no signs of any air units so far this was not a priority.

Three scout trucks roamed the area that the Tidean forces had dropped, searching for any Pudite forces that may have come this deep into the nation. They spotted the small group and one of the trucks pulled back to the Village they were operating from. The five men that served as the village's police and military force were ready for a small assault, but a large-scale one tehy stood no chance of, since the village was several hours away from Panrabia or any otehr major holding of Stowe's.
-----
In a Pudite-held village, three men conspired to help Stowe by acting as spies. One of them was the Elder's son, Hakunu, which was very favorable for Stowes. He reported to the General with outgoing phone calls, letters, and radio transmissions.
"They're calling you a dictator, Stowes. They mean to 'liberate' Pananab. What will you do?"
"A dictator, am I? I protect these people when they want it! I am here for them! These villages elect to allow my forces to stay!"
"I understand taht, sir, but what will we do?"
"Get close to them, Hakunu. Get close and then let their supports fall. I want you to gain their trust, act as the leader of the village. If tehy find out about our calls, then tell them that your are my ambassedor. I don't want to fight. I want these people to be safe and happy."
"I know that, Stowes."
"If they are bent on my ultimate destruction, then we will fight. Until then, my forces will act as they have done for the last twenty years. If the peopel don't want the Pudites to claim their village, please, make sure they don't fight. We don't want anyone being hurt."
"I understand, sir."
"If they don't accept you or attack the village, head to Panrabia as soon as you can with refugees."
"I will not fail you, Stowes."
"I know that, Hakunan."
Stowes shut off the radio. To Hakunan's misfortune, he didn't know that the Pudites had been listening to every word...
OOC: Don't kill him, I have plans for Hakunan.
--------
Stowes and his army were beneficial to Panrabia. It was slowly getting larger from the the Pudite occupations as people fled, not wanting to become part of the Pudite Empire. Several weeks passed and Panrabia slowly expanded.
As did Stowes' army.
Archeologists, knowing that a battle was about to ensue, took the oppertunity to do some exploring, so the income that the archeologists spent in Panrabia really helped. Merchants came with the Archeologists, knowing that Stowes would need food and ammo to supply to his men and help the city sustain itself. As more and more things were found in Pananab by the Archeological digs, the income to Pananab grew even further. Stowes was now planning to create fortified structures at the front of the city to help keep them all safe.
But even with all these improvements to the city, Stowes still needed weapons.
Lots of weapons. Weapons he couldn't find in the normal Black Market. He needed better weapons.
Weapons only a modern army could supply.

****************************************************

Back at E01-02 the men were being readied. With the news that a spy had infiltrated the command structure of the base, there was no time to wait. Six-hundred men were being assembled just outside the town, most mounted in Humvees or APCs. They were going to strike at a large town that was identified the day before.

The helicopter patrol that had Identified the town recognised it to be Panrabia, the capital of old Pananab. The helicopter had approached early in the morning, hopeing to confirm its ID and get out before it was spotted, again General Showe was undereestimated, he had men rady, and in minutes there were about a half-dozen RPG shots streaking towards the Blackhawk. Luckily though, due to bad lighting and the helicopters speed, only one of the shots hit the helicopter. The machine gun beneath the cockpit was knocked off, and the front landing gear was crippled. The chopper limped home.

The vehicles roared to life, Humvees sweeping ahead of the slower APCs, clearing the path and scouting the best route. Above the transports flew twelve Mi-28 Havoc attack helicopters. Their objective was to capture Showe and flatten the city, causing the rest of the nation to surrender.

OOC: My commanders will continue to underestimate Showe for now, beliving him to be a simple nomad with an army. You beat back this assault, then we will return with even more men and can forece you to retreat like you said before.

Also, I Congratulate you on this RP, this s one of the best MT threads I've been in in a while. I like the way you began, making it ok for me to accualy try to invade something without being stomped on by twelve-hundred huge nations. Very good, thanks.

"General Stowes! We're under attack!"

"Sound the alarm!"

A loud wailing was sounded off and people rushed into their homes. Stowe's men waited in the shadows, hoping to get a chance to ambush the Humvees and kill the driver and gunner at least. This was the first time Panrabia had been attacked since the timews of old, and this was the New City; The old one had been missing for over four hundred years, which is why so many Archeologists came to New Panrabia.

A dozen of Stowe's tanks, Soviet in origin, seemed to pop out of nowhere and began to fire thier 100mm guns at the Humvees. The tanks were old. They had only seen combat only once or twce, and the last place they had fought was in an urban city in the nation over. They were covered in sand and dust, so continued use of the tanks would be a very stupid idea. Stowes would need to get them tuned up or get new tanks, but they could last through this battle.

The snipers atop the plateau heard the alarm and looked down at the Humvees. They were getting battered and beaten by the tanks. One sniper shot out the tires of one of the Humvees, which was hit by another tank shell.

The Humvees rear-mounted grenade launchers were doind their work on the old tanks, but the Hummers light armour could not stand up to to many more tank shots, and those that remained fled the feild, back towards the APCs they were leading. As they fled some of the gunners took a few last shots at the soviet relics, but most missed.

Upon hearing reports of the Humvees being assaulted by Stowes tanks up ahead the five hundred men the Hummers were guiding leapt out of the transports and began to run to a nearby rigde where they would soon have a good veiw of the fleeing Humvees. There they would ambush the tanks. Each of them worked to cover the brighter peices of their uniform and weapons with sand, to mask their presence.

The APCs would continue forward, and the tanks, not knowing they were empty would attack them as well. Then all the Pudite vehicles would flee back, leading the old beasts into a trap.

Only one of the Havoc helicopters had been shot down so far, by a luchy tank gunner, but the rest were not going to stick around. With the ground support fleeing they would be unsupported, and so the followed. They, however, would be much more able to cause disruption as they left, with their Anti-Tank missiles slamming into the rusty sides of Stowes tanks.

Three of the helicopters stayed however, they had recived special orders, and moved towards the Arakarian helicopters. A message was sent via the external comm syste over to what was hopefully one of their officers.

"If you have claimed this territory then you will be regarded as invading the Dominion, In that case my leaders wouldn't understand if we DIDN'T fire on you. You will be given seven miniutes to make up your mind before we regard your claim as an act of war. Good day."

The vehicles below did not stop, nor cease firing, they had their orders and were not about to stop becuase a voice in a helicopter told them to.

Two helicopters that where in middle of battle remained aboveground when the one that was over town landed to talk with officers of Pananab.

"We're allies of those that attack you" - said Arakarian officer - "we want to stop this bloodshead. Although we are their allies we want to stop them. The only way to do this is to claim this territory an Arakarian protectorate. Then they would have to violate our Pact and declare war on Arakaria. Can I see the General? I'm sure that he will recognize our emblem - the Black Sun."

OOC: I don't want to take over whole territory. I think that if areas near Panrabia will be held under Arakarian protectorate we can start a race to gain as much territory as it is possible. I hope that I didn't spoiled your fun. Arakaria has few forces so with help of locals it should take to much land.

"Sir, we have an unsettling situation on Pananab." - said radiooperator in Arakarian HQ.

"Yes sir!" - said radiooperator.

OOC:My troops are landing somewhere north of the oil field. Also, Pananab. Those tanks guns size would depend upon what kind of Russian tanks they are. T-54/55s have 100 mm guns, T-62s have 115mm guns, and T-64s have 125 mm guns. The closest Soviet tank to 90 mm is the T-34/85 with its 85 mm cannon. But the American M-26 Pershing and M-48 Patton sport 90mm guns.
IC:By now the entire division and the extra brigade were on the ground. The APCs and LBTs aswell as foot infantry set up a perimeter, FAT-Vs(A more advanced version of the HMMWWV) with ATGM-1s and 15.5 mm machine guns patrolled it. The engineers immediatly began to smooth out the ground to build an airstrip. They erected pre-fab air control stations(which were basicilly tents with electronics in them).

The General had a bottle of wine in front of him, which he poured into a glass.
"I am General Stowes. You, as I have been told, Lieutanant Mitarias. Sit. Have a drink," he offered, motioning to the bottle of wine.
"Not the best I have, my wine cellar is in the last nation my army was in, but it's what I brought. I drink to calm my nerves. This invasion was unexpected, uncalled for, and unnecessary. If you approach the proper men, you mught be able to get hem to agree to let us share control, but the feild officers have their orders and are not allowed to interact with those deemed a threat.

IC: Since it was obvious that the Pananabian tanks were not pursuing them the Hummers retreated only to the troop line on the ridge, followed by the APCs. There they remained, the soldiers began digging emplacements for their machine guns and RPGs, and the snipers would find the best angle on the valley below. Most of the Havocs moved back to E01-02 to re-supply and bring back fuel and ammunition, the rest (seven) stayed with the men, landing about two-hundred yards back, down the other side of the ridge.

They would wait here until orders arrived regarding the Arakarian helicopters and the message they sent.

Welcome friends! We have an urgent matter to discus with our allies. We really would like to avoid conflict between allies, aren't we? We suggest to split the territory between our forces. We both has right to liberate those poor people. It would be wise to declare Panrabia a neutral, co-governet area where our bases will be established. We are mostly interested in oil supply because our economy is in disasterous shape. We would like to take control over territories to the east from Panrabia, including Pananab Rainforest. There are also plenty of oil on Pananabian Plateau - would you consider to help us with Red Tide2? I don't mind there presence to much but I would be disappointed if those resourceful oil fields would be wasted in hands of non-ally. Please, state your counter-offer. We hope that our friendship will last forever. MAP prevail!

"General, I'm Lieutenant Izar Mitarias of Arakarian Task Forces." - said a lightly-beared man, around 30 years-old. He continued slowly but sadly - "I'm man of honor, like you General, so I must be honest. There is a very dim chance of your victory over Pudu Empire. We also cannot do anything to stop them. There is only one chance but you've to trust the Black Sun which is our patron Angel. You have to surrender your forces within territories of Pudu. We can provide you with protection and autonomy that will be limited only to international cases. Your people could remain armed as a local police. I know that I can sound like an arrogant usurper that is dictating what you have to do, General, but it isn't us who are invaders. Pudu Empire is overwhelming and we cannot stand a chance against it. Please, I beg you General to accept my humble offer. At least temporary. Pudu soldiers are just outside of your town."

"Retreat is not an option, Lieutanant. Peace is. If the Pudite empire wants to annex Pananab, that's fine. As long as the people here want to become part of the Pudite empire. I was once part of a terrorist organization, Lieutanant. I was a few high-ranking man in the organization. Do you know why? Because before I was a terrorist I was a counter-terrorist. I taught that organization everything they needed to know to fight against and like a CT. I've done a lot of things I'm not proud of. I saw my errors and I changed positions and joined the main people's resistance and led them to victory. I learned something from them. That the people will not accept anything forced apon them. I asked to be elected as their leader after the fighting was and they held elections. I was voted in as their leader. Because the people were nomads, we traveled great distances and fought many battles. These nomads eventually came here. I am not leading an army Lieutanant. I am leading a people to their new home. Whether Pananab is their new home or not, I don't know. But they seem to like it here, to accept it. The people here enjoy a great symbiotic relationship with us. My men protect the villages and the villages give them lives. My men will not leave their homes. I cannot force them, otherwise my army would crumble and who knows what dictator will take power. My men will stay where they are. If the Pudites are so focused on my army's destruction, so be it, let them come. I will fight, my men will fight. And when I am dead, the people of Pananab will fight. Then what do the Pudites have? A large, desolate desert with a good coast and oil fields, but that's it. There are no minerals here. There is no farmland. There are places of history here, so yes, the land is valuable. But a land is nothing without its people, Lieutanant. I will not accept Black Sun as my flag. I have my own. I like it. If we can strike an agreement between my army and the Pudites, I will be happy. My men will be happy. But I am the people's tool. My suggestion to the Pudites is to put their guns away and take out their paper and pens if they don't want to have to fight for this area for the next twenty years, because if they don't, that's what'll happen. And I know many people that can make that time even longer."
The general pulled out a folder and placed it on the table.
"This is what I have planned for the last three days. An agreement plan. Emperor Pudu will have his nation, provided that the people of Pananab agree to it. The Pudites rule Pananab and my army functions as it has been for the last thirty years. RedTide gets their oil fields, but teh town gets a share of the profits. Any more oil fields that are discovered by Pananabians cannot be claimed by RedTide2. Any that RedTide2 discover are under the same agreement. And most of all, if the people want them out of Pananab, they must leave. I'm not changing my banner. Life is good here in Pananab. We're modernizing at our own pace. Such a sudden change is too great for these people, unless they feel otherwise. I do not fear death, for I know that my life was not in vain."

Yes, your people propably will fight. But what then? You say that you like this place, you say that locals are good folk. When Pudu Empire start their war there won't be anything left. Only burned houses, raped women, kidnaped children and dead man. Those who will survive will be refugees or scavengers. Pudu is able to erradicate every small town. Is it worth to sacrifice those people for the color of your banner? Maybe those people want to fight but do you really think that they want to see their families laying dead? Being a leader isn't an easy task. It isn't as simple as listening to the crowd. I understand your point but if not Pudu, others will come. Without statehood, this land has nothing. I notice your noble goals but you cannot sacrifice those people. Freedom is valuable but it's worthless when you're dead, General. Think of children, for God's sake! They don't want to die! I also doubt that Pudu or Red Tide2 will listen to you when they see few badly armed nomads. You can try though. Remember that our banner is the only protection that those people can have right now. Your banner will only draw gunfires. Your AK's won't protect villagers from bombs."

If he get his own nation, than he'll be an easy target if he try to do anything against us. It's much easier to deal with a General and "organized" army than with local partisants. How about that?
Your offer about spheres of influence is more than satisfactionary if we can deal with Red Tide2. We should make a meeting of all, three sides to split the territory.

A radio message came in to, now Lieutenant, Duscov, who survived the battle for E01-02. He was put in command of the force that was going to attack the capital as a reward for watching his commrades slaughtered at the town three days ago, he still had a burning hatred for the General, ad any of his men.

This is why, when he recived the radio message, which was ordering he and his men to retreat back to the town, and that peace had been achived, he diregarded it.

The Lieutenant told his men it was the long awaited order to continue the advance, and because he had recived it personaly, there was nobody that could argure with him. Duschov loaded the APCs back up, and after realizing that the helicopters he had sent back to retrive supplies would not return, now that the attack was called off, he would have to move now, before the troops noticed their abcense.

Within ten miniutes of reciving the order to retreat the 600 men, under the traitor officer, were cresting the ridge for the second time in as many days. This time the force moved as one, all vehicles in one huge, rolling, rumbling, ground shaking mass. one hundred Humvees and as many APCs rolled forward beneath the seven Mi-28 Havocs that had stayed. Many of the vehicles had dammage, and about half of the helicopters rockets were usded up. Operating with no support, the attack was going to have to be quick.

----
The General ordered runners to tell the Pudites that the General was surrendering and leaving Pananab as soon as they could. The snipers atop the plateau had left their stations and the tank tunnels were abandoned. The only thing that could be used to track Stowes' army were the tire and tank tracks left in the sand. The villages were now only inhabited by the peasants and a few of Stowes' men that had families and would not leave them.

The radio said something in the native tongue and the Sargeant listened to it with direct and complete attention. He looked at the man and said, "Nevermind, something's come up."
The trucks turned and left.

Hakunan sighed heavily when he heard that Stowes had left. There would be no bloodshed for now. He walked into his room, which he shared with his entire family. His family was gatehred around his cot and he squirmed through it. A bag of money was at his feet and on a note on his pillow was scribbled,

The Pananabian runner was forced to leap to the side as the APC infront of his came to a stop, sliding down the hill a little further after the engine was shut off. As the collumn slid to as stop the Lieutenant was seen popping up out of the top of his APC. He beagn screamming in russian at anyone that would listen. He climbed out of the top of the vehicle, stomping on the roof for a few seconds before leaping off and striding angrily through the ranks of vehickes, slamming his fist into the sides of the APcs as he walked by. As he reached the Pananabian runner he stopped.

Waiting a minute the man explained to him that the General was surendering the town, and that he was moving on (If I read right...). The Lieutenant pretended o think about this, putting his hapds on his hips and lowering his head for a moment. The real purpose of this action however, was to get his and closer to the Desert Eagle resting just inches from his left hand. In seconds the gun was pressed up against the poor mans chest, blood covering the end of the barrel quickly as it poured out of the hole in the Pananabian Messenger. Duschov began to laugh manaicly shooting off three more rounds into the dead mans body, and before turning around again, kicked the corpse in the side, covering his boot with blood.

As Duschov turned he was met the point of a different gun, that of the company Commisar, who was standing in between the two APCs he had just strode through. The man made no sound as he fired the single shot into the crazed officers head, and no sound was made by the troops behind him. The Commisar, now the commander of the company, and therefore the attack group, climbed back into his Humvee and ordered the retreat. Meanwhile, 1000 of marines where airdroped on the northern beach of the largest marine bay (let's call it Blue Bay for now) in Pananab with basic equpiment to establish a small airfield. It will take 3 days to build an airstrip for supplies. Also, one fighter took four "bombs" that contain leaflets and droped each one above each village that is situated near Blue Bay. This "bombs" detonated around 30 meters aboveground and spread flayers with following content:
People of Pananab! We're representants of Arakarian government! Don't fear us! We are here to help you! There are nations that are more predatory than our humble republic. We secure peace and bring medicines to cure diseases that some of you suffer! In few days our soldiers will come in three vechicles and withe flag. They will bring a well-educated doctor, modern medicines, fresh water and high-quality food. The people of Arakaria are friendly towards you and your families! Arakaria also sends a transport of 5000 soldiers and aditional staff of 1000 men (most notably engineers, doctors and teachers). To finance this operation we also escort Arakarian Oil Company that will start establishing an off-shore platform on largest source of oil on sea.

Acticivty on the beaches was reaching peak levels. Just yesterday a massive fleet had arrived carrying the 250,000 soldiers requesitioned earlier in the operation. Barraks were overflowing, storage pits could not contain all the supplies, the vehicle garages could not protect all of the vehicles. With this new surplus of men and machines, they would have to spread out.

Airborne survellience had located at least nine small towns and villages still free in the Pudite-held north. Each ov these villages would have to be claimed and fortified, for security reasons. border checkpoints would also have to be established on the souther border with Arakaria. There were literly thousands of men with wich this could be accomplished.

Forty-five hundred men would be dispatched to pacify and bring unto Pudite rule the nine free villages of the north. This group would be made up of five brigade-sized groups of five-thousand men. Each of these brigades would have ten Mi-28 Havoc Attack helicopters and 15 GT-6 Main Battle Tanks, as well as a host of smaller transport vehicles laden with supplies, to support them. At each village a brigade would branch off and lay claim to the village.

If the villagers came peacefully then they would be left in peace as the town was fortified. Of course, after the Pudites arrived, all in and out traffic by the villagers would have to be recorded, but that would be the biggest of the minor changes to their lifestyle. After a waiting period, peaceful and obediant citizens would undergo a test, which, after passing would place them either in the Farmer (worker), or Artisan (Specialist) castes, recognised as Pudite citizens with all the rights granted thereof.

If they did not come peacefully however, they would have to be subjegated by force. All villagers would be rounded up, killing any that attempted to fight back, and kept in barraks outside of town. These barraks would be wired with cameras, and any who seemed peaceful, or benevolent to the Pudite occupiers would be released to the town, where they would undergo the same process their more peaceful cousins had. Any remaining in the barraks system after a period of two months would be deported back to the Pudite homeland, to undergo their own 'training'.

With men dispatched to secure the remaining villages in the north, the southern border with Arakaria heavily patroled, and guarded by the six checkpoints established recently, the Pudite forces were focusing more on studying their newly aquired territory. The jungle regions remained unpatroled, let alone explored, and, if the success of RedTide2 and Arakaria were any indicators there was even oil to be found in the vast desert wastes of northern Pananab.

Many of the citizens didn't care about the fortifications of their towns, but the segratation was a problem for them. In ancient times, when the Pananab Empire was young, they adopted a Caste system, which led to rebellions, civil wars, and riots. Pananab citizens were not well-educated of modern requirements in societry, but they knew history well, and they were supersticious people towards Caste systems. Many of the people forced to adopt Farmer while their sons, husbands, wives, or daughters were forced to be seperated into Artisan. Many Elders in the Pudite-occupied areas spoke out.

"The Pudites might be accustomed to these forms of society, but we once had them and it caused devastation in the ancient Empire. Only once that caste systems were abolished is when we achieved a great empire. Implement any laws they may, but this caste segragation is going to cause resentmenmt amongst the populace. On behalf of the Pananab people in the Pudite-occupied half, I request that these caste systems be repealed in Pananab."

Official Pudite Response: In response to the massive outcry being made by the Elders in most of the newly occulpied villages, the government has, for a period of time determined by the Emperor, revoked the Caste system for the citizens in the Province of Pananab.

A second new law has been created to counter this rebelious spirit in the new province. Billions of gold crowns (Pudite currency) are being devoted to the total renovation of the Education and Healthcare systems in Pananab. Teachers are being imported from the Dominion, followed by the doctors and specialists required to found the new hospitals that are being put up in every single one of the newly occupied towns, alongside a free oublic schools. All children will be required to attend school for four hours (10:00AM-2:00PM) every day of the year until the age of sixteen. Below this Illusion of caring lies a more subtle motive however, at these schools children will be taught the history of their nation, that is at least, for the next twenty-five years, during all of which the hstory classes will teach less and less of Pananabian history, and more and more Pudite history. This way, eventuall they will forget the days when their oppressors utilised caste systems to dramatic failure, and only remember the sucessful Pusite Caste system of Merchant, Farmer, Artisan, Warrior, and Noble. Only theen will we be able to fully integrate them. The Emperor hopes for complete annexation within seventy-five years.

General Stowes sighed at the newspaper.
"Just one more reason to dive them away..." he said as he tossed it aside. Their natural growth was increasing, but General Stowes needed more advanced weaponry, perhaps even make an alliance with a foreign nation, one with a better military and economy than the Pudites. They would never be able to eliminate the heritage that the Pananab citizens rightfully have. The stories of the old Pananab Empire will be passed down from generation to generation, and even in the event that doesn't happen, when General Stowes reclaims Pananab, he has written records of all the stories and all of the Archeological digs are still happening, so the Old Pananab Empire will never truely die out. He would exploit that to help Pananab regain its independance and he will finally have a constitution for Pananab.

With the dissent problems solved, at least for now, the occupiers could again shift their priorities. A brigade of troops has been dispatched to begin construction on a small base camp at the edge of the northern jungle, from there Helicopters and platoons of scouts could move through, exploring the only peices of the Pudite territory left un-mapped. The base would consist of a short airsrip, enough room to land small cargo planes and the like, for supply dumps, a six helicopter landing pads, for the six UH-60 Blackhawks stationed there, the camp would also have enough room in its small garage to hold ten Fox class Air-droppable APCs, for rapid re-deployment. The rest of the camp would be barraks for the five-thousand men in the founding brigade, as well as room for any brigades passing through, and room for the pilots and drivers required for the vehicles.

The base would be surrounded by a short, three foot high concrete wall, to stop wheeled vehicles, just as at the beach encampment, and all the towns were, followed by a fifteen foot chain-link fence and a ten foot deep ditch. There were three enterances, each a simple draw bridge over the ditch and two gates through the walls. There were also six towers surrounding the hexagonal base, each twenty feet tall with a thin roof to keep the sun off the three men stationed inside it. They were there to man the 50. caliber machine gun mounted in the tower. Becuase of the high altitude of the base (Its on a hill on the jungle plateau) the men in the tower could see for miles around, even further protecting the base.

After it has been finished a scout company will move into the camp. Their jobs would be the helicopter-deployed deep-jungle partols as well as the short-range normal patrols. Accompanying these men would be the 10 AD-APCs and the helicopters.

About a week after normal patrols have begun, and the area around the base deemed secure, several teams of Artisan-Caste surveyors and geologists would be brought in to begin the search for oil in the north. Each of the eight teams would be accompanied by a twelve-man Special Ops patrol, and all of them would be deployed via the Spec Ops helicopters.

****************************************************

Pudite High Command has recived word that General Stowe and his men had fled north, into uninhabited territory. There they have stayed, and until now the Pudites were happy to ingnore him. Now though, that things were settling down and the nation regaining its peace, General Stowe was again a priority, and still deemed a threat. Becuase of this, Special Operations teams were sent out on long-range helicopter patrols into areas that had been identified as possible targets by satlites in over the area. So far there had been no success in locating the rouge General, but patrols were continued. Each one consisted of three twelve-man squads mounted in three UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters.

Occasionaly an SR-71 Blackbird was deployed over the country, to locate objects under high clound cover, or in an area the satalite can't see, due to angle or other details like that, but these expensive spy planes were rarly deployed becuase they were not absolutly certian of the Pananabians AA capabilities, even though they doubted anythings abilitly to reach the plane that high in the air, going so fast...

The soldiers hid when the Pudite airplanes flew overhead. The pupup AA-guns were ready, but taking down a Pudite aircraft would give their location. They still weren't ready for a war. They still needed the aircraft and guns. They could show an effective resistance, but not a true victorious one. General Stowes wanted the war on Pudu to be a rout, not a single Pudite soldier left unretreated, alive, or uncaptured. Still much to do...

OOC: Wow! Wait a minute ;) I try to post what I wanted to do. Pananab, ofcourse, can modify my attempts.

IC:
Arakarian Republic has send additional 20,000 men. Pananab people aren't a tough opponent and are outnumbered even by smaller forces (OOC: correct me if I'm wrong). Arakarian forces moved slowly and without unnecessary violance. We offered food and healthcare to the villagers buying their trust. Afterwards we introduced education, social equality (but not communism), limited democracy, etc. Police stations where build in nearby villages, where field hospitals where installed along with schools. We also build more oil rigs in ocean to make money that can be invested in this region and to support troops. Our government isn't a harsh dictatorship, so it tolerates small disagreements with Elders trying to not get in their way when they really don't want to. We put many effort to educate our soldiers about tolerance and foreign cultures. We hope that this can pay back nowadays.

OOC: The oil field on the plateau in your territory is own and operated by Pananab Petroleum and was originally discovered by General Stowes, that's where he got his oil, just a heads-up^^
IC:
The Pananab people in the Arakarian sector seemed to be better off. They weren't being forced to integrate into their society like they were under Emperor Pudu's rule.

Hakunan Jahuziz has sent out the following question about his company, Pananab Petroleum:
I would like to know if my company is legal in the Arakarian sector of Pananab. We currently operate a few oil rigs in the Arakarian sector on a plateau, and we would like to know if it's legal for my company to operate in your nation.

IC:
The Pananabians in Red Tidean territory were treated the same as all Red Tidean Citizens... that is, if they stepped out of line, the Consortium would make them 'dissappear'. The only difference is that the bodies of the Pananabians were usually dumped in the desert and, as an extra precaution, set on fire.

The Red Tidean military had pulled out its Airborne and Mechanized Division, replacing it with an Infantry Division to gaurd the airstrip, as well as 2 sqaudrons of SU-47s. The oil field(and the town in it) was gaurded by Tech-Com Mercernaries(which really acted as military-style security personnel).

And RedTide2, the AA is designed for slower and more conventional. Besides, you're occupying the southern half, Stowes is above the Northern Border, he's not even in Modern Pananab anymore.

IC:
The people in the RedTide2-held area often left the villages for the more tolerant Arakarian-held Pananab, but most of the people still didn't care. They got income from teh men working on the oil fields and most of the time, the people simply ignored their occupiers.

Little-known to most of the people in Pananab, the Great River that flowed through Pananab's birders and made it bloom with rainforests and fertile farmland, gone since a great earthquake, was about to reappear.

The Mechanised Infantry Division rumbled into the area of the massive oil deposit. It rolled straight down the center and too the village in it. There the command vehicle parked and the command post was set up. A battalion of Consortium Agents had come with the soldiers, they set up shop in the village and immediatly began enforcing the law(or atleast... the Red Tidean version of it).

The rest of the division left the town and began to set up a perimeter around it.

Since nothing was being located with the areial suvelience the High Command has decided that no more feul would be spent flying these missions. Now their surveilence would be entirely satalite based. A second satalite was assigned too observe the movements of the Pananabian rebels. (My government considers Pananab North a peice of the country, and thus you are a rebel) The Generals knew they were up there, and since they could not hide from satalites, as they never knew when they were watching, they would hopefully produce better results.

Forts were being constructed along the northern border, each garrisoned with six-hundred soldiers, four UH-60 Blackhawks, twenty-four Special Operations men, six Mi-28 Havocs, and a dozen Humvees. At any time two-hundred men were on duty, wuth another two-hundred in reserve. The forts were surrounded by four-foot high concrete walls behind a fifteen-foot chain-link fence. In between the concrete and the cain link was a ten foot deep ditch, all this, combined with the eight machine gun towers surrounding the base were enough to discourage any attack. The men were constantly on alert, for their commanders were expecting an attack from Stowe at any time.

Security on the villages was tightened as well. Reports had reached them of delining village populations and since nobody was permitted to leave, at least to other villages, anymore, this was impossible, as none of the populations were going up. They must be sneakng out. Becuase of this, all humans leaving the village were provided with an escort of two soldiers. Nobody without an escort was permitted into the village, all rouges were taken into dark, uninhabited buildings and quietly 'questioned' about their strange circumstances.

******************************************************

It seemed that every week more shipments from the dominion were arriving, some carried supplies, some aircraft, tanks, and some brought more troops. Becuase of this enormous growth the original beach base was expanded quite a bit to cover about a third of Pananabs norther coast, but still this was not enough, an becuase of a lack of any significant occupation by the Pudites prior to this, 75,000 men were dispatched to the capital city of Panrabia to defend it from the General, should he stirke at what was, until the troos arrived, our weakest point.

Once there they would line the city with the regular Pudite fortifications, low concrete wall, chain-link fence, ditch, towers, and construct a large airfeild, with enough hangars for forty planes. This would make it the second largest Pudite construction as of yet. Only the original airfeild at the beach was larger, as it could contain over one-hundred of the Pudite MiGs in its underground hangars.

After the Panrabian troops were sent off, another 45,000 men were dispatched to re-enforce the guardians stationed at the nine towns. This would bring the garrison up to 10,000 men. Each of the nine brigades would bring with them sixteen GT-6s and forty-five Humvees. The airstips at the towns would be enlarged as well, to contain the ten MiGs that were being assigned to each one.

The IDs and barcode were actually quite welcomed amongst these people. It may make other people think that it takes away a person's identity or degrades their humanity, but to the Pananab citizens, they thought it was a wonderful idea! OOC:/IC: (A little of both, don't wanna seperate it) It is standard in my nation as well to barcode citizens, however grocery shopping is unnessacary, as all meals, cloths and anything else commisioned to the citizens is delivered to their doors, which are being replaced by Pudite doors as new houses, pre-made in Pudite factories by Farmer caste workers, are being shipped in. New clothes are also being shipped in. Televisions are also now illigal, as well as a host of other devices I don't feel like listing. Radios are also being delivered, free of charge, as are all deliveries. There is no more official currency here, as the Dominion only uses its money to gauge the governemtns wealth, and since the government owns the people, they get no money. The former local currency will still be circulated by the locals if they wish, but anything they need (and NEED only, not want) will be delivered when we belive you need it. Everything the people need is theirs, if they do not get it, they do not need it. They only get it if everyone gets it. Although the caste system is not in effect yet, all people are being assigned a job, one chosen by them, for them to fulfill in the community. Privatly owned automobiles are also illigal, as a huge public transportation system is being shipped in. Busses to run in-city, and a monorail system for long trips. Not that there are many of those, save for those that chose jobs that absolutly require travel. Education recived is only what the people in question need to know. You will only learn things relevant to your chosen career. You will choose a career at age eleven. Before eleven the only schooling is in numbers, letters, sppech, and shapes. 1) Arakarian-held Pananab is to have equal chances of representation in Parliment
Each citizen has one vote.
2) Pananab will be allowed to form its own political parties and participate in voting
Arakaria doesn't have legal parties excet: Christian Labor Party, Green Centrist Party, Liberal Democratic Party AND newly legalised Native Conservative Party. President won't allow any other party. This is official. Our government doesn't kill those that are involved in illegal parties but activists can be sentenced for year of heavy labors.
3) Pananab will accept any laws passed by the Arakarian parliment, as long as it does not interfere with business or intrude on personal privacy
Economy is an integral part of Arakarian legislature. We aren't liberal. If people of Pananab hide their incomes they will loose their bussines. We redistribute collected wealth between ALL citizens of Arakaria.
4) Should any part of Pananab gain independance, Arakaria will allow Pananab to secede and all representation of Pananab in the Parliment will be cut. In this event, Arakaria and it parliment will recognize Pananab as an independant nation.
