Sergei Mavarok, a well known arms-developer in Yerengovich, steps into the room, and in front of the camera. He holds a new Yerengovichan Assault Rifle.

"We of Mavarok Arms Industries are pleased to present our new assault rifle, the LR-37. It is lightweight and very accurate. Any parts that can be made of plastic, are. This new plastic is very light and strong. The LR-37 will rarely ever jam. It is a very reliable weapon. We gave it a week in the jungle, and the man who took the test reported no jams at all. It has great range, and is easy to use."

Mavarok fires a full magazine at a target, and no bullets stray off of the circular target.

"This weapon is now being sold by the Mavarok Arms Industries. So if you want your soldiers fighting with a perfect weapon, send a telegram to the Government of Yerengovich with the amount of rifles you wish to order."

The commercial fades away.

OOC: Do you want a little help, then? It's evident that you're not quite on solid ground here.

Do you have msn? It would make it a lot easier.

OOC: Curses. I don't, so we'll have to do our best here.

Firstly, this is an In Character forum. When you speak without the prefix 'OOC' then people automatically assume you are roleplaying, and things might get confused.

Bear in mind that this is a bare minimum of information for a weapon, and it is a good idea to put additional text (Referred to as 'fluff') in as well when releasing a weapon. You did this, and that is commendable.

You did not, however, provide the firearm's basic statistics, so potential customers have no way of comparing it with those that they might already have.

OOC: I have here the statistics for the FN FAL. The FAL is what is referred to as a 'Battle Rifle'. This usually means that it has no fully automatic fire function.

Caliber : 7.62x51mm NATO This is the old NATO standard rifle round, used prior to the adoption of the American 5.56x45mm round.
Length: 1100 mm The FAL is a very long rifle, being over a metre. Most modern rifles are around 800-900mm long. Long = accurate, but also heavy.
Weight: 4.45 kg empty The FAL is heavy, as most modern rifles a little under 4kg.
Magazine capacity: 20 rounds Most rifles now use a 30-round box mag. One exception being the French FAMAS (http://world.guns.ru/assault/as21-e.htm), which uses a 25-round mag.
Rate of fire: 700 rounds per minute This refers to the FAL's burst function, which fires three rounds with a single pull of the trigger. This helps the firer shoot accurately and quickly, where single shots would need to be re-sighted every shot, rather than every three.

http://world.guns.ru is a very good site for looking up information. Have a look around there for a while.

OOC: Now here's what you've got wrong...

Caliber: 12 x 7.50 mm These figures refer to the width of the bullet itself (e.g. 9) and the length of the case (e.g. x19mm). This means that our example round would become: 9x19mm - This is a pistol round. Pistol rounds have large calibers (Width) and short cases, usually around x20mm. Rifle rounds are usually somewhere in the region of x45mm
Velocity: 1001 m/s You'll have to look through that site before you can learn much about ballistics.
Length (Open/Folded): 3 feet When manufacturing a weapon, specifications must be exact, and are given in millimetres.
Weight (Empty): 5 lbs. Again, around 4kg is the usual.
Capacity: 30 Round Clip
Fire Modes: 3 Round Burst/Full Automatic Single, too. Nearly all rifles can fire in single shots as well.
Per Unit: 750 USD Fair enough.

Now. Go to the site, read, and learn. You'll get better, but the main part of actually giving it a go is already over. Best of luck.
