OOC: This is a closed RP. No tagging, reading is fine, I can't stop you from reading. Then again, I guess I couldn't really stop tagging either, but I would prefer if you used the subscription option. This is all linked o my next major storyline, for those of you who have been following the White Tower. No details now, but it will be my best one yet.
IC: Yore had long since left Leviathan.
"Where is Beldragos?" Warfare asked.
"On one of the highest planes. Only those that have acheived True, perfect Balance may go there. I may go there, but by my very nature, I have to have True, perfect Balance. You may not go there though, you are not balanced." Yore said.
"What do we do then?" Warfare asked.
"YOU acheive true Perfect Balance. You are unbalanced. I will guide you to achieve true balance." Yore said.
"What about everyone?" Warfare started.
"They can wait. Forget your family, forget your friends, forget your followers. You will begin acheiving true perfect Balnce, now." Yore said.
And so it began. Day and night, never ending, never stopping, for True Balance was a way of life, not a state of mind. Endlessly, Warfare explained things to Yore, from warfare's point of veiw, as to why things were balanced. Endlessly, Warfare had to do diffrent tasks, the like of which, most mortals couldn't do.
Finally, after a full six months, Warfare achieved complete, true balance.
Yore sent off a little golden ball of energy, a message, Beldragos would understand, that Yore was coming, and Warfare had finally achieved a Balance, and in the process, became his own being.
"Now, how do I ascend to the higher planes?" Warfare asked.
"You leave that which you've always had, behind. Follow me, not with body, but with spirit. Your body is now useless, but you are not dead. You are now like the Ta'nar, you no longer need a body." Yore said.
Yore stepped away, and left Warfare standing there.
Warfare concentrated, his spirit, his soul came away from his body. He completed the last step to ascending to the Higher Planes.
Warfare felt, diffrent, without a body, and discovered, he was without form, without shape.
"now, follow me. Not even Leviathan can follow you to where we're going." Yore said.
With that, everything, changed. Warfare, and Yore, appeared before the avatars, and a being that nearly rivaled The Creator himself, The spirit of Creation herself.
"Beldragos, Master of Balance, keeper of the Domains, greatest God of Magick, I have come, with my Father, to inherit my Father's place, to achieve Mastery over the Six Domains of Law, Chaos, Good, Evil, Life Death, and become keeper of the Balance." Warfare said formally.
Yore simply nodded.
"Its been a long time, old friends. I regret, that I cannot return, but I am glad, that I have had the chance to see you at least one time." Yore said, one friend to another.

There was nothing as far as Warfare could see. Just a grey mist. He looked about trying to see something before he remembered his father’s words:
"You leave that which you've always had, behind. Follow me, not with body, but with spirit. Your body is now useless, but you are not dead. You are now like the Ta’Nar, you no longer need a body."
He quickly thought about those words and realized he was still trying to see with his eyes, not his spirit self or awareness. He closed his “eyes” and tried to see using his very being. Slowly he became aware of things around him. He could feel he was attuned to the energy vibrations of this strange place. He could feel the surface beneath him and willed himself to move forward. He felt the “floor” move underneath him and he pushed himself further to move faster.
As he explored this new environment, he noticed he was approaching an open area. He could feel a powerful presence ahead. Warfare carefully approached the Presence. Suddenly a voice rang within his mind, its power causing him to reel.
“Welcome to this most Holy of Places. You are at the Center. You are in my Home.”

“Welcome to this most Holy of Places. You are at the Center. You are in my Home.”
Warfare kneeled before the voice, willing it to appear so.
He thought about it, and realised, that talking would be futile, since he could no longer talk. Thus, he spoke, using his thoughts, and transmitting them.
"Thank you., Beldragos.. I come in peace, simply seeking to learn. The time has come, to attain my father's position, and keep the Balance, along side Beldragos, and his brothers and sisters, like my Father Before me. I have lost all my powers, due to something, I do not understand. Father Yore promises me that this, this will be the Cure." Warfare said, in this new manner.
Yore nodded to his old friend.

BelDragos spoke directly to Yore
“Greetings Yore. You are finally ready to pass on your Mantle, I see. The Mortal Realms have been too long without someone to keep the Balance. Is this one before me the one you have chosen to take your place?”
Yore bowed his head in Respect.
“Yes, the one before me is my very own son, Warfare, whom I believe you know. My only surviving son, the reason of which I'm sure you know. The same reason, which prevents my Return.”
“Yes, I understand. Has he undergone the tests that must be accomplished?"
"Yes, Warfare has attained true Balance within his Soul, though, the final Tests, must be administered by your brothers and sisters, as I cannot give them myself. I have lost my powers, and Warfare just recently gaining his own soul, separate from mine, has none, and yet is still a God. Thus, we are here, to seek your help first, in this area, then, to pass on the Mantle, and the sword." Yore said.
“Prepare him while I summon my Brethren.”
A palatable pulse of power spread out from BelDragos. Soon other beings approached, forming a circle around the visitors.

Warfare stood. somehow he knew, now was the time to stand.
"Whom do you wish to test you then?" He heard Beldraogs ask.
Warfare thought. Yore waited off to the side.
"Don't be afraid my son. I will be here for emotional support. These tests will be hard, but in the end, they will be worth it. No finer Test Procters could anyone ask for, than the beings that embody that which you must master." You said in encouragement.
"I'm not afraid, just, apprehensive at being tested by the best. I guess I'll start by facing that which I understand least in my experience. Let me start then, with Chaos." Warfare answered.

“Cool, I get the greenhorn first.”
Warfare turned towards the voice. The being that approached was nothing at first but a small pulse of ebony power. It coalesced into a form of a small skull with it’s eyes still intact.

"Ha, Berk. I am going to show you a thing or two about the cosmos. Well, what are you waiting for? Come on! Let's shake a leg... Well... YOU shake a leg..."
Morte turned and disappeared into the energy patterns. While Warfare stood there for a moment wondering what the hell Morte was, Morte returned.
“Come on, we ain’t got all day now!” The skull again disappeared into the curtain if energy surrounding the enclave.

Warfare followed Morte, though he was quite confused. He too disappeared behind the veil. He looked around to see where he was, where Morte was, and where to go, or what to do next. all in all, Warfare was completly confused.

Morte took Warfare through the bizarre fields of energy down to the material plane. They traveled so fast Warfare could only make out the blur that was whole galaxies. He felt them slow down and the stars turned into streaks, and then settled down into individual suns.
Before the two Entities, there stood a vast network of artificial conduits and pathways. Various humanoids that were nothing more than half-machines wandered about in their various duties. They were oblivious to the two watching entities.
Warfare watched for a while before addressing Morte.
“What are those?”
“They are Borg. What do you see about them that could be considered wrong?”
Morte looked closely and watched them carefully before answering.

19-09-2005, 04:40
"The Borg, have absolutly no will of their own, not even the Queen. The Drones are bound by the voice of the Queen, who centrqalises the Hive, gives it direction, but the Queen in turn is also bound by the will of her Drones, and is helpless without them. There is no room for change, there is no room for development, there is only the will of the Hive." Warfare said.
"Law has its place, it it gives direction, defines boundries, but too much Law is a bad thing. But Law, cannot in and of itself Change. That's its downside. Thus, Chaos. Chaos allows for Change, Chaos can allow those boundries to Change, to expand, or tighten, as the need may be. But, ob that same note, Too much Chaos is a bad thing as well." Warfare said.
He didn't want to offend Morte, but the truth was the truth after all.

Morte spun around, his eyes taking a light of their own. He began to yell at Warfare in a rage.
“How dare you talk like that about Entropy! Don’t you have a brain in that little noggin of yours? I ought ta flay ya and throw ya on the ‘que an cook ya for our next picnic!”
Morte watched Warfare as he fought his urge to flee. Then suddenly Morte began to laugh histerically.
“HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You should see yourself! If you had a body, you would have shat yourself! This would be a knee slapper if I had knees..., or hands.”
Morte saw the look of utter confusion wash over Warfare’s face.
“Berk, we are not gods, we are aspects of the Multiverse itself. All of her Avatars strive to keep the Balance in their own way. Utter Chaos will cause the laws of physics itself to break down. To much Order will cause stagnation. Too much of anything will cause problems.”
Morte let these words sink into Warefare’s mind before continuing.
“The problem with the Borg is they have overwritten their own free will so there is no creativity anymore. They have stagnated as an entity and cannot continue upon their own. They have to attack and absorb other worlds in order to create new things. Wrentia and I have been working on organizing some of the more powerful worlds to counter the Borg. Yes Berk, Order and Entropy working together to right a wrong, balancing an imbalance. That is our purpose. We cannot work in the open because of the problems it would cause so we work behind the scenes. Creating a buffer zone and leading the Borg away from the population centers by manipulating races in the direction we want them to advance. When they get where we want them to be then they will be isolated from the rest of the worlds and will stagnate into non-existence. A trapped animal will eventually starve and choke upon their own filth. I am also working on corruption of the software linking them together. Again, I could just use the full force of Entropy upon them but that would trigger their defenses and alert them. The corruptions must occur slowly so they will basically evolve a free will. This has begun to work in some of the Borg, but they are just the first of many.”
Morte looked at Warfare again.
“Do you have any tactics you might come up with? What do you Suggest?”

"Morte, its a concept as old as time itself, or, if not nearly there. Sever their Link to the Queen. Take out their Central Voice, and prevent them from Reconnecting to the Queen, or simply making/assimilating a new one. Without the Central Voice to guide them, give them direction, the rest of the Hive will simply fall into Chaos. Once in Chaos, have the nations move in, and seperate each Drone from all the others, spread them accross Creation as it were, yet at the same time, keep track of them to prevent them from starting a new Hive, and eventually having them all regroup into one undefeatible Mega-hive. While their seperated, Sever each Drones Link to the Hive, and De-activate their Borg Parts. They will need Mentors to help them Re-integrate into society. It's quite a Task, I know. But, if anyone can organise it, I know you and your brothers and Sisters can. I admit I would have trouble with such a Task." Warfare said, still a little shakey from Morte's Outburst.
Now he understood just why Chaos was so unpredictable.
Balrogga
20-09-2005, 12:15
“Yes, that would be the easy way, but not the correct way. We could do that instantly and wipe them from the cosmos in the blink of a mortal’s eye. That would cause a vacuum. Nature abhors a vacuum so it would cause an imbalance. There is no telling what could develop out of that vacuum. It could be better or it could be worse. For this reason we have to work in the background making small changes that is easier for Nature to recover from so the Balance is maintained.”
Morte watched Warfare to see if he understood what he was hearing.
“Wrentia and I represent extreme ends of the same scale. If we directly intervene there will be certain repercussions, even if we both intervene at the same time. There is no way to balance our direct interactions so we have to work indirectly. Kintoun and BelDragos are the only ones who can act directly seeing as they are Neutrals. Their hands don’t cause the disruptions the rest of the Family does. If the situation gets out of control, we will ask them to assist but for now it is under control. A mortal solution for a mortal problem.”
Morte could see Warfare was having a bit of trouble understanding. He expanded his Aura and took them to another Plane. The inhabitants looked like they were shapes with legs. Warfare could see thousands of spheres with two legs and a small set of folded wings marching about doing their duties. They were overseen by what looked to be rectangular blocks with four legs and a small set of folded wings. Occasionally Warfare could see what appeared to be a three sided pyramid with three legs, and an arm, eye, and mouth on each face. The ever-present small folded set of wings was also there.
“Welcome to Nirvana. This is the plane of Absolute Law and Order. It's inhabinants call it Mechanus. Apply what you know to them.”

"Ah, Nirvana. I have been a Law God for most of my Life. If even one thing gets thrown out of place, the entire plane will go to Chaos. Though, that is hard to do. The Plane protects itself greatly from something like that happening, thus, it is harder for Chaos to act here, then it is for Law to interact, say, in the Temple of The Chaos Pantheon, I still say Slaneesh is the ugliest God I've ever seen, and Arianna the most beautiful, though I admit that could be Love talking." Warfare said.

Morte turned and smashed his forehead against Warfare’s. He staggered backwards blinking tears of pain out of his eyes, his hand holding his bruised noggin.
“What did I tell you before? This has nothing to do with Gods. This has to do with the entire Multiverse itself. I thought you were supposed to be worthy. Why am I wasting my time with you when there are other candidates out there that can think beyond themselves?”
Warfare stood there stunned by the attack. He wondered how he could feel pain when he had left his body behind. Morte continued to berate Warfare.
“Did you forget what you were talking to? I am an Avatar of the Multiverse, one of the Laws that govern everything. I am that thing you call The Chaos Theory. I am Entropy. All beings must follow my suit for without me you would not be able to digest your food, throw a rock, or even think. I am the source of Creativity, Imagination, and Change.”
Morte glared at Warfare.
“Your opinion of Slaneesh’s comeliness does not matter here, nor does your preferences of your amour. The fate of EVERYTHING is at stake. If you cannot be serious then you better find your own way home. I will go looking for another wanna-be to test.”
Morte stood watching Warfare to see what he decides.

Warfare got ahold of himself.
"Calm down Morte. It was a simple side comment. I know full well that this goes beyond me, or have you forgotten that I too know who is about to be released from his ancient seal?" Warfare waited a minute as this sank in.
"Now, I understand Chaos, I understand why its neccesary. Can we move on now to the test, or are we going to stand here and mince words awhile longer?" Warfare asked.
Balrogga
29-09-2005, 06:42
Morte was still miffed at Warfare’s apparent lack of seriousness and glared at him a moment longer. He suddenly laughed loudly and they both plane-shifted.
The area they appeared in was a small world where everything seemed to move in unison. The people stepped in unison, the clocks ticked in unison, and the birds sang in unison. Everything was working along the same heartbeat or pulse. After a few minutes it even became bothersome for Warfare to watch. His head started to throb in unison to The Pulse.
“This is a small demi-plane orbiting Mechanus. You figure out what is wrong and how to fix it. Remember to try from destroying it. Balance is necessary. My Power will be filtered through you for the moment, but only a very small amount for any more than that will surely burn you out.”

29-09-2005, 07:20
"hmm." Warfare murmured, thinking to himself. Power, he had it again, it was, Chaotic, free, no wonder some gods of Chaos only partied. He felt, Giddy. He controled himself, and surpressed the urge to run and jump and shout like a Child playing.
He allowed his conciousness to spread over the Country, while remaining hidden from the inhabitants.
Then he found it, a Gigantic tower. Strange energy ran from the Tower, causing everything to go in step with the Clock. No one heard it anymore, yet all were bound helplessly by its every beat.
"The Clock." Warfare said simply.
He looked at the Clock directly.
It was, an indescribable mass of Metal, and twist of machinery. The energy pulsed out of it from a massive clock at the top. Two great green hands kept the time. Warfare recorded and kept the time going in a seperate place, then exerted Chaos upon the Clock. He knew where to put it, a plain on Mirroden. Accidents happened frequently there. Perhaps this would avert them. Something to control everything in the area.
"I shall call it, the Clock of Omens." Warfare said.
He then exerted Chaos upon the clock of Omens. He moved it, through planes, and accross space, and set it upon Mirroden, in Chaos Valley.
It fed upon the energies within. the results, were, as of yet, unclear.
Back on the Demi-Plane, everything was still in sync with the clock that was no longer there.
Warfare thought. Perhaps weak Chaos Energy would do the Trick.
He tried it on a group of boys bouncing their Basket balls.
Weak Chaos spread through them. suddnely, they could not bounce their palls in any sort of a pattern. They stopped, and stared at each other, as did several people on the street.
Warfare flew to where the Clock was, and charged up a mighty ball of Pure Chaos. The Law and Chaos neutralized each other, in a Bang.
*One hour later.*
Warfare nodded. The world had a sense of Normalcy. Enough Chaos to Counter the Law energy from Mechanus. These people would thrive, grow, and change.
"Morte It is Done. Thy Test is completed." warfare said.
Seconds later, Morte and Warfare were back where they were before.

One of the Entities stepped forward and its form solidified.
“So you choose me…….Follow!”
The armored figure stepped off into the mists without looking back. If he did not follow, then he was not ready to represent the Aspect of Order.
Wrentia Starfire continued on through the mists. She was not only the Incarnation of War, but also of Order. The two fit together quite nicely. This time she would only be testing the Order Aspect. If he failed, well, there were always the Sticks. Morte could have another bar-b-que afterwards.

Warfare followed Wrentia through the mists. He was more than prepared to represent order. For most of his life he represented Law, save for a small time when he represented nothing but Greed. but that was another story altogether.

20-11-2005, 02:54
Wrentia stepped from the mists into a forbidding land of chaos. The Abyss stretched as far as the eye could see. Demonic forms warred with each other establishing dominance. Only strength was respected and the weak were mercilessly beaten down and used as cannon fodder. In the shadows bizarre shapes preyed upon those forms that strayed too far from their numbers.
“What can you make of this?”
She steps back and watches Warfare.

"It is a land of strength, only the strong can survive here, the weak are killed or eaten mercilessly. This place cannot grow, for ideas cannot form, research cannot take place, it will always be a barbaric land of strength, if left on its present course. Eventually, it will fade away, and be no more, for those that survive will be strong indeed, but unintelligent enough to think up a solution to problems that can and will arise." Warfare said.

20-11-2005, 13:08
“I didn’t ask what you thought of this, I asked what you could make of it. This is the Abyss in all its 666 layers. It is populated by all the Demons in existence. It is the home to those who embrace both Chaos and Evil. Orcus and Demogorgon reign here and have been over thousands of years. The Bebilith are the only saving grace here. I believe you know some of their descendants. They are the ones preying from the shadows. They are the ones responsible for the only rule everyone follows. Hell is the place for evil that is ordered, The Abyss is for those that are chaotic”
Wrentia looked closely at Warfare.
“Again, I ask you, what you can make of this place?”
Warhaven
20-11-2005, 18:18
"Hmm, I say that those that come to the abyss, the Dark Gods, and Feinds, I say they can escaoe far too easily. Too many innocent souls suffer when they escape. Demonkind already has an extremly hard time escaping the abyss. However, Dark Gods can simply will themselves out after a time." Warfare said.
He thought, with sorrow, of the lives of all those who had lost their lives needlesly over the years. If he could do anything to change that...
Balrogga
26-11-2005, 03:02
Wrentia sensed what Warfare was thinking.
"But that is the whole point. The Abyss is part of the Multiverse. It serves a purpose. What whould happen if The Abyss was not here?"

26-11-2005, 08:31
Wrentia sadly shook her head.
“The Abyss is not the source of Chaos and Evil, just the repository. That is like getting rid of the bucket, thinking it will also get rid of the leak in the roof. You would still have the water to deal with. Do you honestly think that if the Abyss ceased to exist, those that are attracted to it would also cease? They would be everywhere else. You would have them in villages and Cities across the Multiverse. The suffering would increase multifold. The Multiverse would also be unbalanced and everything would fall to pieces. You forgot about Balance.”
She looked off into the distance. Plumes of violet smoke rose into the air. Green lightning flashed downward into the ground with a distant rumble. Undoubtedly there was death at the end of those strikes.
“Think about your answer and follow me.”
Wrentia turned and walked into mist that formed around them.

"Tell me what you have learned."
Warfare thought long and hard.
"I've learned, that although it is Loathsome, Evil is necessary. I've learned that it is Evil that gives Good definition. I've learned that Growth and change would be impossible without Evil, in some form. I've learned, that Evil lurks in the hearts of many, and that my Quest to destroy it entirely was in error, for no matter how many are destroyed, there will always be another Evil to stop." Warfare said.

03-12-2005, 02:22
"Is Evil defined by Good? Is Law defined by Chaos? Is Life defined by Death? Or is it the other way around?"
Wrentia led Warfare out of the mists into an area completely devoid of life. The bare earth lay exposed to the sky unbroken as far as the horizon. The sun bathed the ground in its scorching brilliance. In the distance there were structures reaching for the sky. It was not clear if they were natural or built.
She looked over to the applicant.
“This land was consumed in the fiery aftermath of disorder. The people who lived here let disorder rule their emotions and their civilization crumbled. They unleashed their weapons upon themselves blasting all evidence of their existence from the face of the planet. They were an orderly civilization until Chaos was introduced. The Disorder rippled through the countryside like a plague until everyone was consumed in paranoia. That paranoia caused them to unleash their weapons of mass destruction upon themselves.”
Wrentia began walking across the scorched earth towards the distant structures.
“As we walk, tell me what you learned. You have yet to answer my last question.”

"Is Evil really defined by Good, is Good really defined by Evil? a Rose by any other name would still smell just as sweet, so it is with Good and Evil, Law and Chaos, Life and Death, They are opposites of each other, yes, but they do not define each other. It is the Hatred and fear between them that defines them. Law hates and loathes Chaos, just as much as Chaos hates and loathes Law, It is because of this Hatred, that they have said, I am everything the other is not, I am the better way, I am the true way. Thus, Chaos makes itself Chaos, because of Law, and Law does the samething, It makes itself Law, because of Chaos, yet if one were to cease to be, the other would loose definition and meaning all together.

“That is true, they balance themselves out. It can be easily explained by stating one of the laws of physics: "For every action, there is an opposite and equal reaction”. Chaos is also incorporated into the Laws of Physics too. The Second Law of Thermodynamics brings Entropy into perspective. You cannot have the laws of Physics without Chaos in the formula.”
Wrentia and Warfare continued to talk while they walked.
“The greatest danger to sentient life is the inability for people to see how their actions will affect others. The nobleman wants a new summer home so he raises taxes to get the money not caring how his people will suffer. A scientist builds a biological weapon nit caring how it will be used. A government places landmines in a area leaving them after the war for the local villagers to find accidentally. A god uses his power without thinking of the consequences.”
Warfare suddenly noticed they were already among the ruins. At the center of the ruins a clock tower stood, untouched by the disaster around it.
It looked familiar to Warfare…
