[OOC: Before we jump to conclusions I feel it necessary to underscore my in character reason for going to war in an out of character manner. Simply said, Fedor feels cheated, and his foreign programs have always been rather belligerent and agressive.

Here's the map of the area: http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a364/hudders/maps/noddestan.jpg

And the threat title was based off the titles to one of Bad Company's song, just in case anybody noticed. Bad Company is great.]

200 Kilometers Off Isleta Ethamar

The twenty Cartagena class SSNs and their co-workers of destruction, ten Tenerife class SSHs, moved silently four hundred meters below the cold waves of the Fugue Straits, sliding closer and closer towards their projected targets at only five knots of velocity. The two different classes of submarines began to split up, the Cartagenas stopping and then decreasing depth to two hundred meters, and the Tenerifes moving north-east, aiming to cut off Little Indian shipping to their two islands south of Noddestan.

The Tenerifes were fast if they needed to be. It is to say, they had the ability to hunt and kill at forty-three knots, meaning that there would be no escape for Little Indian shipping in these waters, military or civilian. In short, it would all be sunk. The Cartagenas were outfitted with land attack missiles, designed to deliver a punishing blow to any Little Indian units that were able to make it to the island.

The idea was to sieze both islands owned by Little India in the area, occupy it with a small garrison, and hold out until Little India formally agreed to the cession of territory to the Empire of the Golden Throne. Although the Empir was in the midst of its War of Golden Succession, Fedor agreed that he could afford to expand the conflict into the area around Noddestan when taking in mind that his foe was Little India, a little known, and thus little respected nation.

Already, Battle Group November was making it's way to the area of the prospective battle grounds. November was one of ten battle groups that made up the Golden Kriegsmarine, and within itself it was an extremely powerful force made up of, a single Argentine class Galleon, one Zealous class Super Dreadnought, five Indestructable Aircraft Carriers, three Raus class Escort Carriers, three Elusive class Battleships, fifteen Clauswitz class Frigates and fifteen Seydlitz class Cruisers, along with thirty Manstein class Destroyers, forty Azores class Patrol Craft, and over a hundred logistical and transport shipping. This latter statement did imply that there was a single mechanized regiment moving along with November, which was specifically the 4th Waffen-SS Special Operations Regiment, built entirely from criminals who originated from Upper Xen.

The battle group moved in standard fleet formation, with a triple layer anti-submarine warfare (ASW/ASuS) ring, formed by the frigates, cruisers and destroyers, along with a combat air patrol (CAP) around the carriers, and a much larger airborne warning and control system (AWACS) around the entire battle group. Thus, Battle Group November easily became one of the most fortified locations on the face of the Earth. Little India would have a tough time puncturing into the battle group, and even stopping the Empire from reaching it's ultimate goal.

The Empire would never allow itself to be cheated, and this would be the first instance in which it would enforce that rule. With November only six days away, and the submarines already there, it could be considered that the area of the islands was a warzone, and Fedor had already prepared him decleration of war and his ultimatum to Little India and those who supported the nation. Fedor knew that his victory would just be a matter of time, regardless of how many allies Little India was able to bring in. Subsequently, Little India had just been forced into the War of Golden Succession.

The 1st battlefleet, sat in the International waters watched with Interest, the Bizmark class flagship of the fleet was resting in the middle of the battle group, various ships of all Kraven military, surrounded this behemoth of the sea...

"Grand Admiral... We Belive The Empire of the Golden throne has begun to make its move upon the surrounding Islands, Long Range Radar has picked up a formation approaching the Chain 185 kilometers from our present location"

"The Last Island in the chain, The Furthest away from the Mainland... Its still Unoccupied is it not?"

"Yes Grand Admiral, Recent Ariel Surveys have shown no military forces present, Although Camoflauge may be being employed... we are uncertain"

"Dispatch the 9th Sardaukar PanzerGrenadier Divison"

"Understood Grand Admiral.."

The Assault Boats of the Kraven Navy, were being loaded up with The Phase 4 Sardaukars, they marched in perfect unision into the assault boats Crew compartment, the assault boat was armoured, not heavily but enough to withstand a small mortar shell directly onto its canopy, and armed with a Heavy machine gun, The 9th Panzergrenadier Divison comprised of 3000 Sarduakar and 150 supporting Emperor Class Leman Russ battle tanks, and Chimera Armoured Personel Carriers... It would take a further 2 hours for the entire Divison to be loaded into the Various Assault boats, and to be shipped out onto the shore... it would be a swift blitzkreig in which the Corporation had much to gain....

From afar, the High King and Holy Empire of Little India looked from the terrace of the White Tower, a shimmering spike of silver rock, protruding from a high cliff face on Isleta Santa Ithilanor.

He had sent peace envoys to the Golden Emperor, but no reply had been received.

As the sun fell over the edge of the horizon, a pink glow iluminated the Tower, and the city of Santa Ithilanor far below.

In response to the immediate threat posed to the recently purchased Archipelaga Santa Ithilanor by the Golden Emperor, the High King had dissolved the Senate back in Little India Proper, and had convoked the High Council, summoning the seven Kings of Little India to the island to hold conference with him.

As the Royal jet landed in the plaza at the front of the Tower, the Seven Kings disembarked quickly and solemnly, filtering quietly into the tower, and up to the Throne Room at it's pinnacle.

"I do not think I need to convey to you the severity of the situation in which we now find ourselves." The High King spoke with a clear voice, and continued:
"I have sent peace envoys to the Golden Lands of the Macabees. No reply has been received, and I fear that War* is coming."
A whisper murmured around the circle of chairs.
"It is probable that we will not have peace until the Macabees are destroyed, or we cede these lands to their command."

The King of Protea spoke.
"But Your Highness, we payed a large sum for these islands, I know that I for one would not be willing to give them up."

"We may have no option," the High King said, "we have no means of repelling them."

*War has to have a capital letter. Don't argue, it just does.

The Grand Admiral stood upon the bridge of his Bismark Class battleship... "The Obliterator" was the pride of the Kraven Navy and was definatly the biggest ship in the fleet, armed with 5 quad barrelled 240 ETC Battlecannons, 3 on the Front of the ship, Two on the back...it was quite capable of defending itself, or taking the attack to the enemy...

The Phase 4 Sardaukar were making good Progress, moving with absolute perfection, Drills being performed without flaw as each Unit (A single Sardaukar is refered to as a Unit) entered the assault boats...

The Grand Admiral Was quietly proud...

OOC: Question: If I win this war - impossible is nothing - do I inherit the Golden Throne?

[OOC: The Golden Throne, historically, sits in Macabea City, until it was moved to Fedala by Jonach I, the first emperor of the Second Empire. In order to inherit the Golden Throne you have to dethrone Fedor I, grandson of Jonach I, and second emperor of the Second Empire. The War of Golden Succession, in my Passion Play thread, is Heinrich's attempt to take the Golden Throne. You can very well tie yourself into that thread and try to put up a third contestant for the Golden Throne. But this war alone will not topple Fedor if you win.]

"I have heard rumours that the entire Golden Fleet is lying offshore. We have no way of attacking them before they reach land, or defending against them once they land." The High King sat, bright eyed on the elevated throne.

"That's the price we pay for pacifism." The King of Imrathon sat slouched in his chair, looking directly at the High King.

"It was a decision that we made for the good of our collective people, Andaer. Just because you disagreed, doesn't mean it was a bad decision." The only female on the Council, the Queen of Parrlay was tall and elegant, and was renowned for her intense dislike of the King of Imrathon.

"Is there any way of talking to them, or asking any of our neighbours for help?" The King of Veruna looked hopefully at the High King.

"It is doubtful. We either make a stand and allow our people to be slaughtered like animals, or we allow them joint sovereignty over the island," the High King posed the question to the Kings and Queen.

"We can't, as soon as we allow them joint sovereignty, it gives them a foothold, and they would be able to get us off these islands completely," the King of Eleni retorted.

"And, it demonstrates to other nations that we are unable to defend ourselves, and will give in to any threats," the Queen of Parrlay warned.

The King of Protea spoke once again.
"But we cannot risk the lives of our people. I think there is only one thing we can do..."

The King Andaer of Imrathon looked with disdain at the King of Protea.
"We did not buy these islands to give them away at the slightest semblance of a threat. We must fight."

The Macabees,
During recent reconaissance sweeps of the Island Chain for our own purposes, we have detected multiple Macabean submaries in the area. Our strategists have concluded that the Golden Throne is preparing for an assault. We have no illusions of fighting against you for truth and/or the concept of honour. The High Council has decided to offer you a fair proposal; in which we help you to take and secure the island chain in return for possession of Islands 7 and 8 as well as a formal alliance. Any islands that we occupy that are not Islands 7 or 8 will be handed over to Macabean control as soon as sufficient Macabean forces relieve the Concremian troops. If a hostile assault is not your intent, we apologise for the misunderstanding.

"I trust your Journey was pleasant"

"Yes, The Flight from Concremo was very pleasant, although the landing on your Carrier was a little rough"

The Grand Admiral laughed, "Yes, It is always rough on your first landing, Our ships arn't noted for Comfort.. Just pure efficiency..."

The Grand Admiral gestured for the Admiral Bull to join him at the head of his bridge and to watch the amassing Sardaukar Units below...

[OOC: No, I haven't declared war on anybody yet. At first it was a campaign to take one of Little India's island, which I put a claim for first, and was approved it, and then, much to my chagrin, it was re-sold to Little India. The Grand Republic of Skinny87 hereby officially recognises the claim of the Republic of Krendakov for the Island of Feveia (Formerly known as 'Island One') as an official territory of the Republic. Let it now be also recognised that Krendakov is a close ally of the Grand Republic, and that any attack upon Feveia Island will be seen as an automatic declaration of war upon the Grand Republic, and will be acted upon accordingly.

Furthermore, the Island of Feveia is now to be seen as an extension of the Grand Republic itself; a naval flotilla of Three Praeton-Class Destroyers and a Virginia-Class SSN will be permanently stationed at the Island, and will be under the command of the Krendakov military authorities on the island. Any attack upon the flotilla or any vessel within said flotilla will also be treated as an automatic declaration of war upon the Grand Republic.

ooc: As islands #7 and #8 currently belong to Noddestan, you'd have to fight me for them and not Li'l India. Therefore it would be a completely different war.
However, since Little India has signed the island treaty, Noddestan, Van Luxemburg and Krendakov will stand by her with support. Not sure quite how much support Noddestan can give though as I've only got what amounts to a guerrilla army stationed on the mainland.

Even with binoculars, Gabor Yung couldn't hope to see any of the islands in the disputed chain. He stopped squinting out of the window of his eighth floor office and turned his attention to paperwork again.

What he found amongst the mound of receipts and memos disturbed his concentration for a moment. A letter, dated several days prior to the sale of cluster two to the Little Indians. It was a copy of a letter Gabor himself had written, congratulating King Fedor of the Macabees on his purchase.

He put his head in his hands when he looked at the money that he could have squeezed out of the royal purse. This is why someone invented the computer, he thought to himself, cursing Noddestan's power shortage.

He began to pen another letter. But not before taking the mistake out on an office junior.

"Grand Admiral" The Capitol Police Officer spoke, his voice mechanical from behind his gas mask..

"All Units have been loaded, Assault Boats are awaiting your Order"

"Very Good THX 112... You may Launch When Ready"

"As you Wish Grand Admiral" The Capitol Police officer turned away with perfect drilled precision, he moved back to his console and began to issue the order for launch...

All across the fleet, assault boats of the Kraven Military were launched, their powerfull engines roaring with pride as they pushed the craft through the waters of Noddestan... the aim was to land on island 8, taking the island quickly and efficiently, any forces present on the island would be steam rollered by the Sheer force of the Sardaukar.... The Corporations Ace in the hole... so to speak..

Minutes passed as the assault boats neared the shore... the prows bouncing out of the water, then crashing back down as the craft sped towards the beach...

Soon the first boat hit the shore... with a thump and a scrapping sound along the hull, the first ship had made it... the Assault ramp dropped into the fine sand of this island, disgoreging the Sardaukar Phase 4's unto the island...

Sardaukar Optical mags activated... Lazer Target Designators (LTD's) searching for targets in the tree lines, thermomags activated, searching for hidden troop deployments... the first Sardaukar squad of 15 advanced up the beach... 12.5mm Pulse carbines DU tungsten alloy, rounds with a pure tungsten Full Metal Jacket and a hollow point... designed to rip a lighlty armoured target in two...

As the squad advanced... other squads began to hit the beach, followed by the Tanks of the 9th PanzerGrenadiers Division....

Captain Aducat nodded, a sly smirk ployed in his grin, as he gestured for all present to watch him. "Then so be it, I assume you will grant us the freedom to secure your holdings, as we see fit..."

Aducat waved his right hand in the air, a holo projector placed at his feet came to life, humming silent as it showed the first pictures and maps to the Indian Kings. The captain lowered his voice somewhat, almost as if afraid to disturb something, pointing at the first marker a good distance from the islands held by Little India. "The battleship Vulkes and its escorts are within operational distance and will be providing us with our main forces for operations. Admiral Marcus Diaz and his men are one of our best units, he will be engaging those forces we have detected in the vicinity..." Aducat spun around on his heels, manipulating the map, showing the islands from a close-up shot.

"The Macabees are no longer an issue, you will, however, in all likelyhood lose one, if not two, of your islands, which either the Macabees or the Empire will repay you for. There are however, other forces ready to move in, including the Swedish Dominions and some idiotic Kraven Corporation. Should you wish for us to remove them, then we will make it so, but feel free to ask them to withdraw first. We are considering orbital bombardment to root current the Kraven rabble out, but if you have any, low casualty options, we would be happy to hear them."

TACCOM - ANGEL - PRIORITY MESSAGE

To His Majesty Fedor I.

From Emperor Rift.

King Fedor, as of now this very moment, the kingdom of Little India is a protectorate of the Empire of the Isles, and we cannot ignore the rumours that you seek to threaten our newfound allies and friends.

Whatever the problem may be, know that the Empire is willing to seek a centre lane, one that both parties can take as we both strife for peace.

We can persuade the Indians to give up one, if not two, islands, for monetary compensation, but please, do not seek war as the alternative. On a second note, undesired elements from the Swedish Dominions and the Kraven Corporations have already set their eye upon our Indian holdings and we would like to offer a pact, so that our combined might can wipe these enemies off the face of the planet.

I await your response with great anticipation,

The soldiers marched through the Concremian Capital, each step in perfect unison and every soldier focused on their task. The entire Concremian Army had been mobilised for the first time since its reform, all 36 million personel awoke to barking orders and the waving of official documents as they suited up and prepared for War. 14 million Combat Personel; a number disproportionate to the problem but everyone knew this thing could escalate. Today they were taking an island, tomorow maybe a whole nation if the situation was right. Or the fight could end up on their doorstep, and the reserves would join those not already in the fight to defend their homeland. It was a finely tuned machine, and now it had a purpose.

Ten thousand Combat Personel, Sixteen thousand Command and Logistics Personel and the full support of the Concremian Air Force would make the initial strike, taking the two outer islands and bringing in four thousand engineers, two thousand combat engineers and the materials for the construction of four FASBs. The Forward Assault Strike Bases would act as a foothold for their taking of the island chain, allowing them to build their required Facility without the hassle of negotiations. They had tried to be reasonable, even fair, but at the end of the day it would be force that got them what they wanted.

The soldiers and their support personel boarded the massive Greatbird supply planes, a naval strike was too risky with all the potentially hostile subs floating about. The Greatbirds had been laden with ECMs, and were being accompanied by four wings of Heavy Bombers equiped with Anti-Shipping weapons as further protection. These bombers in turn were protected by two wings of interceptors, three wings of multiroles and a wing of heavy fighters to keep the enemy off their backs. Back in Concremo Silos of all sizes were readied, most of them equiped with Cruise Missiles but a select few holding some more experimental weapons.

The admiral of the fleet saw "Island 8" on the horizon. He called General Fredrik Berg to the bridge. He came fast.

"General Berg." The Admiral said. "Do you think this war is necessary?"

"Of course admiral, this is a necessary war." The General responded.

"Bollocks, you think exactly what everyones thinking! This war is a complete waste of men and time. But orders are orders. You go tell everyone to board transports. I'll call the aircraftcarrier deck and tell them to start boarding the Chinooks." The admiral said with a twisted grin.

"Are you sure we'll make it to the islands? I've heard reports of heavy aircraft presence."

"Yes, general. We'll make it to the islands. Our Kraven allies are landing, and so are we."

"But Admiral!"

"General, just go and prepare the men on this ship and let me handle the other ships."

"Yes admiral!"

The 22nd Amphibious batallion with 668 men and the 24th Amphibious batallion with 668 men were loaded on amphibious hovercrafts, while the 12th Amphibious Engineer batallion with 668 men and it's Amphibious tank was taken by boat.

The same was for the rest of the regiments except for the 6th Marine Medic batallion with 350 men. They were taken to the islands by Chinook helicopters marked with distinct Red Crosses.

Gabor was at the window, squinting again. He still couldn't see the islands. He paced about a bit, concerned about reports of troops mobilising and the various naval activity out there on the Cratian sea. Stations on the Fugue State islands of Origin and Sequel had noticed the ships breezing through the straights and had informed the Noddestan administration in due course. Gabor thought they'd probably dragged their heels a little in informing him.

"OK, pack up," he said after a long silence, "we're going to the beach."

"Where, sir?"

"The coast, Yaddavich, the coast! How else do you expect to observe a naval conflict? We don't have any ships worth talking about, so we'll have to stand on the sand and hope we can see something worth noting down."

"Sir, should we not inform General Dares?"

"The General is on holiday. Now is not the time to disturb him. Besides... he's incommunicado."

"Yes sir," Yaddavich bowed reverently and began packing up the office, as ordered.

Imperial Transmission to Dumpsterdam

It has been a long while since the Golden Throne has talked to Dumpsterdam, and I'm afraid that the last diplomatic actions between us and yourself did not include me, but instead my grandfather Jonach. It has only been a few months since I first accended to the Golden Throne, and already I'm in the throws of a War of Golden Succession, and now this.

Our dispute is rather simple, and we would rather seek out a peaceful resolution, instead of wasting men that could be better used to drive the enemy back to the capital of Haven. Regardless, the issue is that we bought the fifth island before Little India, and yet it was resold to Little India, and consequently, the Empire has felt cheated of what should be its own property. We find no need to occupy both islands, merely the fifth island, and we are prepared to buy it off Little India if Dumpsterdam indeed protects the country. We, under no circumstances, would like to break the friendship which such a long time ally of the Empire.

Thank you for both your concern for us and your protectorate. May God give us a peaceful path through this crisis, or I'm afraid that we will take the islands by force.

Then it seems we can strike a deal here, would you be willing to pay the last bid you made on the island to Little India as compensation? If you where planning on spending this money already, then you should have no qualms with this.

We hope this offer is reasonable, and will prevent any sort of hard feelings between the two parties’.

As soon as we have this out of the way, we can turn to more pressing issues, such as the invaders seeking to besiege Little India, TACCOM has confirmed the presence of at least one of your submarines in the area and we would appreciate its assistance in driving out the Swedish and the Kravens.

I await your response with great anticipation,

Indeed, Your Majesty Vespasisus, we are willing to pay the final bid on those islands to Little India, which I believe was at five trillion Reichmarks [OOC: I think it was that], which would translate to 7.5 trillion United States Dollars. This will be paid through electronic means to Little India as soon as the island is officially ceded as a territory of the throne.

Switching to more pressing matters, our fleet currently making its way there will engage the Swedish Dominions and the Kraven Corporation, and will turn them back. There will be not one of their ships left, we assure you of that.

[signed]Fedor I

First Blood - Kraven Corporation

It would be a bit hypocritical, and a bit ironic to engage the Kraven Corporation and Swedish Dominions off the island chain, but realistically the Empire had its reasons. Even had the Empire continued its invasion of Little Indian territory in the region, which had been stemmied by quick action commited to by Dumpsterdam, the Empire absolutely did not agree with dividing anything in the area with the Kraven Corporation or Swedish Dominions. It was to say, none of those two latter forces had even spoken to the Empire prior to their rather belligerent movements. Consequently, with self-interest in mind, the Empire had all the right to engage them in order to protect it's newest territory in the area.

Consequently, an urgent SSISX transmission was sent to the submarines below, using a very invented method of dropping a single intelligence bouy in the water and from there transmitting the method to the submarine's positions two hundred feet, or some seventy-five meters, below. The message was simple - to destroy. So, the submarines, so willing to kill, complied without any hesitation.

Within seconds the Cartagena's two VLS tubes slid open, revealing a bristling warhead in its wake, and before anything could even react the cavitation began to build around the area as the missiles left their nest. The VLS tubes rotated, revealing another missile, as the empty VLS slot reloaded, and seconds later, another missile left each submarine. With twenty Cartagenas, each with four slots in their VLS tubes, and each with two VLS tubes, that meant that within two minutes there would be one hundred and sixty missiles making their way towards Kraven's fleet, hoping to hammer it and cripple it, so that Battle Group November would have a much easier time moping them up.

The entire missile barrage was centered around a single type of method, the Sledgehammer, designed by both Guffingford and the Golden Throne, it was amongst the most effective heavy ship killer known to the world, and unfortunately, it had not been tested yet - however, these days would prove to be quite excellent testing grounds. The Sledgehammer was designed to have a parabolic flight path, heading up at an eighty-five degree angle, and then coming almost straight down onto the area of the ship with the lowest armor, the deck. The Sledgehammer's powerplant was a Lancaster and Blaire RAMjet engine, and it had a single depleted uranium penetrator at the forefront, with ten twenty kilogram MIRVs to soften the area of penetration, and finally a huge five hundred kilogram OctaNitroCubane warhead in the rear, to fully destroy a wide area of its target.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/fruityloops/parabolic.jpg

The work of art made their way towards the enemy fleet at Mach 6.5, and made its way almost to the upper atmospheres, and finally began to come straight down. During the end of its flightpath it would begin to corkscrew, just like a modern inter-continental ballistic missile, making it much harder to shoot down. The largest priority in the Kraven fleet was its prized Obliterator, one of their Bismarck class Battleships, and consequently, the Obliterator received the attention of twenty whole Sledgehammer anti-shipping missiles. The rest of the missiles were spread out across the rest of the fleet, homing in on any other Bismarcks they had, as well as their standard anti-submarine warfare ships like destroyers and frigates, as well as any carriers they would have in the area. Ships the size of a carrier or a battleship would gain the attention of at least ten Sledgehammers, while the smaller ships would only receive two missiles. Regardless, it would be a potent attack on Kraven's ships, and perhaps they would think twice to comitt themselves further to this war.

All the while, the Tenerife class SSHs prepared themselves to intercept the returning assault crafts. Either Kraven's forces would be stranded on the island, or they would be killed as they tried to make it back to their fleet. Kraven would receive a huge blow in this war in the next couple of days, and the Empire would make sure of that.

The Greatbird transports were lined up for take-off at one of the three military bases in Northern Concremo. The first taxied into position and had their destination co-ordinates relayed through air traffic control. Each one carried two hundred soldiers and would have them parachute onto the isnads from high altitudes. They were piloted by remote, an effective counter to hijacking or pilots wishing to defect with their cargo.

Harson beginan the take-off of the first, Greatbird 451, but something to his right caught his eye. A faint blip on the radar, something big but possibly stealthed. He filed the report in seconds, and in two minutes they had visual confirmation of the object. Just a bird, they said. But ta bird like that would need a wingspan of forty metres, give or take...

He refocused to the task at hand, and set the plane in motion. Harson had his hand on the lever for wing flaps when he heard a splitting sound from behind him. He turned, and stared at the air conditioning system and shook his head. The damn thing had been on the blink since day one.

Greatbird 451 gained speed, but made no attempt to rise. The wing flaps remained secure, and still it continued. It reached its optimum take-off speed and kept accelerating, approaching the end of the runway. The plane went from the tarmac of the runway to dirt and grass but kept going, merely hundreds of metres from the cliff edge.

The co-operator kicked through the tower control room door and swore. Harlson had vanished, and hadnt opened the wing flaps. He could only watch as the plane skidded off the edge and plummeted into the waters below, taking every passenger with it. It broke upon the rocks, the fuel supply exploding in a fireball that burnt the cliff side almost to the top edge.

He ran out the door to tell the Co-ordinator, such an accident must be reported. Then he noticed two things; the missing cover of the ventilation system, and the blood on the control pannel.

The Bridge of the Obliterator

The Grand Admiral was stood, proud that the operation had gone smoothly, when suddenly the early warning systems of the vessel went into overload...

"Grand Admiral" the Capitol Police Radar Operator spoke with cold indiference "We are detecting multiple launches, ETA 2 minutes"

"Activate the Ligh Mounted Anti Missile System (LMAMS)"

"As you wish Grand Admiral" the Capitol Police Gunner replied

as the missiles approached on thier acute trajectory, the LMAMS was activated, the 10 barreled Gatling Cannon began to rotate, all over the rest of the fleet LMAMS weaponry began to activate, tracking multiple targets and warming up the cannons, the missles came into veiw, directly above the fleet...

Then the Cannons opened fire, the barrels spat hot lead at the missiles approaching, explosions flurred out across the sky, as targets were destroyed, the LMAMS were struggling with the immense fire power being brought to bare at the fleet, but they hammered on, other ships that weren't being targeted, or were thought not to be targeted concentrated on killing missiles aimed at the Obliterator...

The first few missiles began to rain down, a small destroyer took a salvo directly onto the bridge, warning sirens blared and Capitol Police crewmen tried to douse fires and minimise any further damage, but the ship was begining to list...

The Carrier was hit on the front and rear, damaging one of the VTOL Lifts, and hitting the Rear Crew Quaters, killing a Duty of Capitol Police Crewmen who were currently on a sleep cycle and a period of recouperation...

Sirens across the fleet began to blare out, Fires raged across the decks of Destroyers and frigates... but these were controllable...

The Obliterator was hit 3 times, once of the very front of the ship, tearing apart some of the Lighter cannons and exploding a magazine of Shells, Captiol Police crewmen were thrown from the deck, landing in the oil stained waters below...

the next blast hit the obliterator in the side, taking out the a portion of Cabins that contained various supplies for the Non Capitol Police Officers on board...

The Third blast hit the Rear 240 ETC Quad battle cannon... the salvo rocked the ship as metal was torn ashunder... the Cannons laid inoperable, until some major repair had been carried out....

"Damage Report"

the Capitol Police Ensign spoke, his voice mechanical from behind his gas mask...

"Fleet is reporting several Fires, but are controlable, damage to Some of the ships, The Carrier is reporting an Inoperable Vtol Lift and the 2nd Duty was annihilated, Damage to the Obliterator was Extensive but the ship remains at 90% operational, Capitol Police Maintenance Crews are already Begining Repairs"

"Good, What was the Trajectory of the Missiles, and prepare to Retaliate"

"Long Range Tracking systems, indicate the missiles were launched from a Sub based system, there appear to be no Surface ships near to the Aquaexit point"

"Hmm, Activate all Sonar, begin sweeping for Enemy Subs, Inform all fleet ships that Enemy subs are active and hunting, all ships to remain on High Alert"

"What of the Torment Classes?"

"Leave them be for now, We don't want to break radio silence, they are currently on complete shut down, When they are needed we shall inform them of their orders"

"Understood Grand Admiral"

"Send a message to the Macabees"

"As you wish Grand Admiral"

TACCOM - ANGEL - PRIORITY MESSAGE

To His Majesty Fedor I.

From Vespasius Rift, Lord and Emperor of the Isles.

It is decided then, we shall transfer the offer to the Indians and prepare our forces to move in.

Admiral Diaz is very happy with your presence already, and will not require your submarines to break radio silence to coordinate efforts.

Glory to both our Empires, long last our alliance.

Vespasius Rift, Lord and Emperor of the Isles.

Death from above!

The sleek bow of the Vulkes shot through the water at a comfortable thirty knots, dozens of Doorman and Provinces class frigates keeping guard as it sailed towards the current battle zone.
Next to the Vulkes was the Raven a Behemoth class carrier, aircraft leaving its deck nearly every minute as they approached the island chain.

Admiral Marcus Diaz was an experienced commander, having fought dozens of minor skirmishes, most notably his crossing off the Gibraltar straights in a PT boat under heavy fire. But those days where over, now he commanded an entire taskforce and officially was also the CO of the Royal Southern Fleet.
"Con, Sonar, contacts?" Diaz asked, not diverting his eyes to either console operator.
"Fishing boat at 505.456 in grid #565, civilian aircraft in sector #31 at 8000 meters, no further contacts sir..." "A'ight, have the taskforce manoeuvre into a standard two picket line formation, send out aircraft and have our Revenant Packs move forward, that new Macabee class we have can use a test."
The operator sighed and complied; the Admiral was always keen to test out new equipment and ships and this time would be no difference...

Taskforce Aurora was preparing for war, sailing into combat range of the Kraven fleet with blatant ignorance, long distance weaponry tearing at the sky, waiting patiently for now...for now...

"We cannot accept the offer." The King of Imrathon glowered at the High King. "It's a matter of principle."

"Why not accept the offer? It's more than what we paid for it, and we can always buy the third cluster." The Queen of Parrlay's commonsense was legendary.

"We will put it to the vote." The High King raised a hand, gesturing for silence.

Six of the seven Councillors raised their hand to agree to the sale of the island for US $7.5 trillion.

The King of Imrathon remained silent.
"Very well. These islands shall be ceded to the Macabees as territory of the Golden Throne." The High King beckoned for the Kings and Queen to leave.
"Please, return Home, I shal follow you shortly, after I meet with Captain Aducat to secure the transfer of the islands and the money."

"That is serious news indeed. Call all battlestations and put them on hold. We haven't been ordered to engage the Macabees." The admiral said.

"Yes sir."

All transports were put on hold, and all aircrafts were called back. The fleet started moving away from the islands.

it was quiet on Isla Granita. Too Quiet. Colonel Gunther Langing looked out over the ocean. that was a thing he couldn't do in the Austrian province of Van Luxemburg, and he was probably lucky he had joined the army. "You'll see something of the world" was the commercial of the Royal Van Luxemburgian Army. that was indeed true, because he now was at this van Luxemburgian-owned Island in the middle of damned blue. If you want to see something, don't join the army Gunther thought by himself. Damned blue. DAMNED BLUE! why am I here? in this ocean of blue, on an Island narrowly bigger than the Farm he lived on?. He awaked from his dream when his Lieutenant Jean-Pierre Murien entered the room, which was cooled by airconditioning. "Sir Gunther, we've got information about some Naval battle of the Islands 7 and 8." Gunther looked behind him, where Jean-Pierre stood. "Naval Battle? who vs. who?" Gunther still was a bit dizzy of his dream. "Probably Dumpsterdam, The Macabees and the United Islands Treaty versus the Kraven Corporation and friends." Jean-Pierre didn't like this, he really wasn't gonna like this, because Gunther always had some stupid task for him. "Okay, we're aiding the Treaty ofcourse, so get one of our JK-H1's Heli's into the air and try to do an Aerial Survey above the battlefield." Jean-Pierre already was sure before he mentioned it. he was to get into the helicopter and report back. if he could do that afterwards.

The JK-H1 was a Tactical transport, ready to leave from it's helipad, when Jean-Pierre got in. not that it's purpose would change, they would just need to see the battlefield with some VLIA Specialists. when all got in, the doors were closed and the Main rotor slowly came to speed. whne the Main Rotor was ready to lift the Craft off the helipad, the pilot hit the Throttle and the JK-H1 took off. heading: Islands 7 and 8.

"No, give me the binoculars, I know what I'm looking for. And give me your coat while you're at it. No sense in getting wet."

It was raining on the coast of Noddestan. Gabor stood on the rocky beach, watching the fireworks that peppered the sky above the water. He was too far away to actually know what was happening but he could guess, based on reports, that ships were exchanging fire out there. Battling for the control of Noddestani owned islands.

It didn't really make any sense. Both islands were barren wastelands with a climate too humid to make a good holiday destination and no mineral deposits or particularly interesting points to do anything other with it. Neither was of tactical importance. So why fight over it?

The Noddestan government had already all but pulled out of the conflict. Might as well just let them fight over them, had been the general consensus, it wasnt worth engaging an enemy for. Of course, they'd struggle in defending the islands what with not having a navy or an airforce, anyway.

Perhaps he should have given Phoenixius a call? Get them over to sort it out on their behalf. But then he remembered they were already fighting a war in Pokos and were probably stretched too thin for this conflict. Anyway, it would be a bit of a shock since the Phoenixius administration resident in Noddestan were being led to believe there weren't any problems. Kept comfortably in the dark, as you would say.

Through the binoculars, Gabor couldn't make anything out anyway. He threw them in the sea and scrambled back up the pebble beach to his waiting car and driver.

We cannot accept your offer for both islands. It would simply be cheating your nation, and was it not why we became so morbid in the first place? The seven and half trillion are solely for Isleta Santa Ithilanor, Isleta Ethamar being yours. We will not take an island that in no way did we deserve. However, we thank you for your cooperation with Dumpsterdam and myself - in the end you will be grateful of your decision because perhaps Dumpsterdam has provided you with yet another ally in future cases.

Regardless, we suggest that you immediately occupy Ethamar because it seems that we are not the only nation interested in land through war in the area, and to leave Ethamar undefended would be to simply invite invaders.

Nonetheless, it is your sovereign territory, so the ultimate decision is yours. Again, thank you for your cooperation.

Our job in this war was not to engage those who fought for islands that did not apply to us. Consequently, you are not in harms way, except, perhaps, the defenders of the islands you are attacking, if their were any. Our attacks upon the Kraven Corporation was within a completely different context.

Not only did the Kraven Corporation never state the reasons for his presence, unlike yourself, but his fleet was dangerously close to the islands we were fighting for. They claim to have supported us, but why did they never attempt to get into contact with us? Consequently, with that we justify our decision to raid his shipping. [OOC: Not only that, but my agreement with Dumpsterdam was to turn around Kraven].

You do not have to pay tribute, since you were never defeated, and you do not need an alliance with us, although if you wish, we may sign one. The Empire will leave you alone unless an ally asks us to do the opposite.

Battle Group November
They had finally arrived to their destination, and reconaissance had already reported the Kraven fleet withdrawing from the area, to supposed international waters. November was ordered to leave the fleet alone, unless Kraven engaged November. The Cartagenas were ordered to re-supply with November, while the Tenerifes remained silent, ready to raid any unsuspecting ships if they were deemed hostile.

November would remain around Isletta Santa Ithilanor to oversee the construction of the mobile army and stable naval base which would be used jointly by the Empire and the IADF. The project would be huge and it would turn the island into a virtual fortress, all but impregnable.

The one day war seemed to have concluded in a victory, although it far too soon to really tell anything.

Before you reply, consider that the First and Second Empire have more then enough power to melt down this taskforce, and anything else you decide to throw at us. Your letter is in Minister Yung's inbox and he'll probably never get around to reading it.
I'm a bit bemused about what exactly is happening. But then again, so is Gabor so it doesn't concern me much.

OOC: The Torment class is a Fission sub, and uses a mixture of MHD and Plasma technology, enveloping the craft in a field that absorbs the sonar waves, effectivly removing it from sonar or radar, however causes a strong heat signature, but this is deadend by the Cool waters surrounding the craft.

[*cough*...ummm, fission sub? Assuming you're using a fission powerplant, that's future technology - they won't be able to successfully make enough energy from fission until at least 2050 - the problem is that they can't put enough electrons into the cauldron, because if they do then the electrons begin to rub up on one another slowly reducing their energy - so when they hit each other head on, so that fission can occur, they don't have enough power to complete it.

Furthermore, plasma stealth has been deemed impossible for even normal sized fighter aircraft - even the Russians themselves agreed to the fact that plasma stealth was large myth when you use it for one hundred percent effeciency coverage - and it wouldn't absorb sounds waves anyhow, plasma absorbs light waves (radio waves, RADAR).

One last thing, it causes a strong heat signature, yes, but the cool waters around it won't do anything - they'll steam, making it even easier to find those submarines.

Battle Group November

The battle group had finally arrived, and the ASW ring was placed some one hundred kilometers away from the nearest Kraven ship, meaning that the core of the battle group was about two hundred kilometers away from Kraven's fleet, and in perfect position to commence naval operations in the region. Despite the Cartagena's missiles the Kraven corporation had decided to persist with its attack on Island number eight, against the wishes of the Empire, and consequently, Kraven had blatantly invited the Empire to wage undisputed war between the fleets.

The sole Argentine class Galleon had turned it's twenty-four twenty-five inch electro-thermal chemical guns, with electro-magnetic rifling, towards Kraven's core fleet, the dreadnoughts, along with the eight eigteen inch electro-thermal chemical guns, making quite an impression, as the clean steel bristled from the shine of the sun. In synchronous order, and in a series of melodical bursts, the thirty-two guns opened up using their laser rangefinders to accurately pinpoint the vital spots on Kraven's superdreadnoughts. The Argentine class Galleon had been designed as a dreadnought killer and here in this war it would prove just how effective it was. The guns had a much longer range than their counterpart's, simply because of the electro-magnetic rifling, and they packed a much greater punch. Each burst sent a volley of the specially made sabot shells, designed to rip right through the armor of superdreadnoughts.

All the while, the Zealous class Super Dreadnought had turned its sixteen thirty inch electro-thermal chemical guns on the island Kraven had occupied, beginning to shell contruction positions, including the new firebase, and all other defenses, hoping to force Kraven's soldiers onto the floor, and hoping to kill quite a few of them. The water rippled violently after each shudder of the guns, sending a wave up to the beaches of the nearby island, and the thundering noise could be heard miles away. Along the horizon the bulbs of seperate explosions covered the island as the Zealous found its mark.

At the same time, the rest of the fleet had put itself in defensive position, not opening up on the enemy until the Argentine had softened the up. They would be prepared for Kraven's response, and then they would complete their job. By the end of this war either November, or Kraven's fleet, would be the only one remaining along these waters. The War of Fugue Straits had just heated up.

As the guns continued to go off, the five Indestructable class Aircraft Carriers had ordered their pilots to their aircraft, suiting up for a possible combat mission over hostile waters. Consequently, November had a two prong approach to its follow up actions in the war, including a full scale naval bombardment of Kraven's fleet, and an aerial strike upon them. Then, when the main fleet had been dealt with, and with Kraven's soldiers stranded on that island, it could be taken from them.

-Kraven Corporation is PMT, and as far as i know always has been. He could have fission OR fusion subs, and could get them even if he was MT. He might have diverted lots of time and funds to it, or might simply just have smart scientists.
-The temperature of plasma is, theoretically, variable between 0 and 10^9 Kelvin. Somewhere in between would be the temperature of the surrounding water, do you agree? As for plasma stealth itself, that too could have been subject to intensive research and development. In IRL, a Chinese submarine is thought to have used it to get into Japanese waters undetected.
-I'm also sure at the very least the sonar signiature would be distorted beyond recognition if not completely absorbed.

The High King of the Little Indians stood at the bows of a small seacraft taking him to Isleta Ethamar. Although sad that he had to trade Isleta Santa Ithilanor to the Macabees, he was pleased that he had avoided what would have been a costly and destructive war with the Macabees.

Far in the distance, the fleets of many countries steamed forwards. What had started out as peaceful negotiations with Noddestan to buy some islands was turning into a full-scale invasion.

Was this the state of Humanity? Reduced to petty fighting over a group of small islands?

The High King sighed, a single tear running down the side of his face.

He disembarked the craft, and was taken to a large, beautiful villa built at the shore. He looked back over his shoulders, before climbing the stairway into the villa.

His daughter, Crown Princess Donna sat silently on a small golden chair in the main chamber of the building.

"Very soon, Donna, all of this will be over. They will leave, and we can carry on in peace."

"But, Baba, what if they don't leave? What if they want this island as well?"

"Do not fear, Donna. All is not yet lost."

The fleet was under bombardment... in the bright of the day shells hammered into the ocean sending tall jets of water rising into the air, then falling down like a crystal water fall...

One shell smashed into the side of the frigate, their was a loud explosion and the twisting of metal... sirens echoed throughout the ships and Capitol Police crew men struggled to contain fires...

"All Gunners Return Fire"

The frigates long range missile systems traversed to the location of the Macabees fleet, The Corporate Tomahawk class missiles with an effective range of over 300 km were launched in a bright flurry of smoke and flames, The other frigates responded in kind, join their bretheren in the salvo, each firing several Tomahawks, they would fly to 200 feet, then when approaching the target drop down to only a few feet above sea level, making it difficult for anti missile systems to track and destroy them, theoreticaly being out of their arc of fire...

As more shells rained down, the Kraven Bismark classes returned fire, their 240 ETC cannons being will within reach of the Macabees fleet,

There was a thump as a shell hit the side armour of the Emancipator, the second bismark class, who had sustained light damage from the earlier missile salvo, then following the thump was an explosion, but this time the shell had hit a structural strong point, damage was minimal...

Now the Obliterator and the Emancipator returned fire, their massive cannons traversing to face the aggressors fleet... Warning sirens echoed around the ships as, each cannon prepared to fire, the 3rd and 4th bismark classes, The Devestator and The Hate Eternal also responded in the same manner, turrets roatating to fire, their massive cannons glinting in the same fashion as the macabees, as each one sounded out in a symphony of destruction, their Tungsten tipped shells ripping through the sky towards their target, each shell was designed to cause the most damage by simply carrying as much explosive elements as possible... the tungsten shrapnel would be enough to lacerate crewmen, and the explosives enough to Tear a hole in the side of a Battleship, or cause light to medium damage on a Super Dreadnaught...

More shells from the macabees fleet rained down, this time on the island.. targeting the construction sites...

This was not a problem, the Slaves were being forced to work under fire by their Capitol Police guards, and the Capitol Police drones cared not for their own lives and continued to work regardless of the explosions that rained around them...

A squad of capitol police troopers took a shell in the centre of the squad, corpses were thrown from the crater like rag dolls as dirt and sand were lifted high into the air...

A squad of Phase 4 Sardaukar were hit, the shell scattered them to the four winds, out of a squad of 5, 4 got back up suffering Damage, but enough to maintain motor functions and a combat effectivness of 63%, one or two with a missing arm, or ruptured Piping...

As shells rained down on the fire base, It was hampering construction work, and several sections of the wall had to be replaced as a shell dismantled the work quite effectivly...

"Air Carrier, We need air support, VTOL attack craft, Target Alpha 5... Zealous Class... "

"Understood Island Command, Air support on route"

From the Air Carrier, Waves upon Waves of Vtol attack craft were launched from the 4 remaining VTOL Lifts, they formed into 8 wings of 4 and headed for their targets, their twin ram jets sending the craft screaming through the sky...

Mean while, the 4 Torment classes now safely in international waters and away from the battle grounds, dropped their Plasma envelope and activated the Sonar and other scanning arrays, in an effort to locate the Submarines of the Macabees,

Within a few hours, the possible signature of Submarines were detected, but even a hint at a possibilty was followed up, the first torment class activated its forward Torpedo tubes, loading a SUBROC... the missile system was launched from a standard torpedo tube, it would leave the tube then travel a few feet until safely out of range of the launching Vessel, then The Rocket motors would activate propelling the weapon out of the water and accelerating it to Mack 3, the missile could afford to miss its target by quite a magin, as the warhead was a 5 kiloton nuclear depth bomb...

The Weapons lethal range was 6 kilometers, and it was enough to crush the hull of any submarine caught within its Killing field...

The other Torment classes loaded SUBROCs and awaited the order to fire, or Confirmation of the kill....

[OOC: My submarines are nowhere near your fleet...at least not six kilometers...my submarines operate at ranges over three hundred kilometer distance.]

The Kraven fleet began to return heavy fire, using their huge two hundred and forty millimeters electro-thermal guns, although these were nowhere near the size of the guns used by the Zealous and the Argentine, or even a normal Elusive class Battleships. It should be taken in mind that the thirty inchers were at least five hundred millimeters in diameter, and no super dreadnought or galleon would use lower than four hundred millimeters, or battleship for that matter. It was simple to say that Kraven was using extremely undersized guns. Regardless, much of the shells found their mark on the Argentine class Galleon, however, they would face the need to penetrate one thousand two hundred and seventy millimeters of armor at some pointes [the belt armor], while the turret face plates found themselves at one thousand three hundred millimeters, making the Argentine rather impenetrable. This would be more than true when facing Kraven's tungsten sabot rounds, which were considered rather obsolete concerning the fact that the Macabee Kriegmarine used only depleted uranium rounds. It would be noted that rolled homogenius armored values were much higher than those numbers, but in reality unknown. Consequently, Kraven's rounds, although finding their target, only put light dents on the size of the hull of the Argentine and Zealous, and since there were no personnel on the decks there was no need to worry about those deaths.

The Tomahawk missiles fired at the fleet were easy to track through the various RADAR systems found on Battle Group November, earning them an extremely early response of over two hundred Praetorian V surface to air missiles, which used their solid rocket fuel boosters to push them from their deck held launchers, and then drop that and exchange their propulsion with a fine RAMjet engine, carrying them at around Mach 4 at the altitude of the first phase of the Tomahawk's flight. Bright plumes of smoked gathered where Praetorian found Tomahawk, yet there were still many missiles inbound. But they would find a wall of cold tungsten as the anti-air artillery batteries and the main guns on the smaller shipping opened up, launching their encapsulated metalstorm rounds through the air. CAPMES was a genius idea, first perpetrated by Verdant Archipelago, and then improved upon by the Empire. At a certain altitude, decided upon a fuse, which was placed on mathematically by computers within seconds, the round would disintegrate, like a sabot shell, having an internal centrifuge send thousands of small tungsten balls in all directions, ripping through missiles and forcing them to pre-emptively explode, or blow. These were much cheaper than the Praetorians, and found to be much more effective. Kraven's missile salvo was eradicated, leaving only a few Tomahawks left, which decreased altitude, preparing for their final phase.

Kraven had seriously underestimated November's defenses. They had aimed for the dreadnoughts without taking in mind the various AWACs flying over the perimeter, and three layers of ASW perimeter, allowing for four layers of defenses. It was found to be almost impossible for a missile to find its way to the core. Consequently, only a few Tomahawks were left as the close-in weapons systems on the ships began to open fire, using their LIDAR and RADAR guidance to accurately bring down the Tomahawks one by one.

Nonetheless, some of them found their mark, pounding into the sides of the Argentine and the Zealous. One should be reminded, though, when the navy made one of its infamous congressional testimonials and it was claimed that if a Tomahawk hit an Iowa the only thing they would have to do is repaint it. Of course, this Tomahawk was much stronger than the TASM-D, however, so was the armor on the galleon and superdreadnought. The damage was relatively light, and the Argentine rocked back and forth for a bit, but after a few seconds continued firing at the Bismarck class superdreadnoughts within Kraven's fleet.

Regardless, other ships were not as lucky. A frigate and two logistical ships were completely sunk, and most sonar men could hear breaking noises underneath the water. Three destroyers were heavily damaged and there were two cruisers with light damage. However, those last five ships could be repaired within forty-eight hours by on sight tenders - another testamony to the Empire's excellent logistics, especially when it came to naval wars.

The phase array RADARs on the decks of most ships found the incoming bogies as well. Due to IFF treatments they were deemed as hostile, and the incoming bogies were translated into incoming enemy aircraft. They soon found themselves under the pressure of over seventy Praetorian Vs rocketing their way into the sky, leaving behind a plume of dark smoke, and rays of fire. Using thrust vectoring and their extremely powerful engines the Praetorians would soon find their targets, even as anti-air artillery guns had already opened themselves up on the incoming aircraft from over thirty kilometers distance. The AWACs had also alerted itself, and some twenty MMA-A2s had already rushed to the sight, prepared to drop the enemy aircraft on sight, already switching their weapons management to the vaunted MTAAM-3 LRAAM, which had an effective distance of over two hundred kilometers.

All the while, the five Elusives and the missile destroyers had already responded to Kraven's attack, making their second salvo well worth the effort. The Elusives devulged some two hundred Principe III anti-shipping missiles. The Principe IIIs would fly at just thirty-three meters over the water, making their way using a standard RAMjet engine, and keeping out of the enemy RADAR's horizon, and then at one hundred kilometers from their targets they slowed down, and dropped altitude, and then broke apart, revealing a MT-3 torpedo, which dropped nose first into the water. From there the torpedo would use an underwater pumpjet propulsion system, making them amongst the quietest torpedoes in the world, and using their blue-green LIDAR and standard SONARs, made their way into the keels of enemy shipping. The Principe III was an ingenious design, and they would prove their worth once again in this naval battle.

Again, after that, the fleet returned to its defensive position, while the Argentine continued to pound their ranks, welcoming another Kraven missile salvo. November would not die easy, and Kraven would soon find that out the hard way.

Admiral Diaz painstakingly watched the exchange between the Macabees and Kraven, each pounding at the other but leaving the Macabees as the clear winner of round one, sustaining nearly no damage.
"Helm, bring us about for main battery fire, weapons, target closest carriers with a full broadside of SSM's, comms, make sure we have all the air cover we need." Diaz shouted to his crew, spurring them to finish their tasks with speed and efficiency.

"Steady as she goes, main battery prepare to fire, broadside ready!"
Diaz's second in command reported, all was ready to deliver death to the Kravens and Diaz lowered his hand and screamed for his weapons operators to fire, sending shockwaves through the battleship.
The nine 25' ETC guns of the Vulkes opened fire, sending its payload at the Kraven carrier, hoping to disable this possible threat before it could launch anymore aircraft; depleted uranium shells, guided by laser targetters from the Vulkes and DDF GPS satellites in orbit to correct any flaws in elevation or range.

As the main battery reloaded the flagship fired a barrage of Lance and Principe SSM's, coupled with the missile cruisers of the fleet made for an impressive show of smoke, fire and trailing missiles streaking through the skies. This was a standard tactic of the Royal Navy, the Lance missiles where you’re run-of-the-mill SSM’s whereas the Principe’s where carrying four short range torpedo’s each, to be delivered by gliding the carrier missile into the water. As soon as Kraven CIWS would open up, the Principe’s would drop into the water and unload dozens of rapidly moving torpedo’s while the Lance SSM’s would continue onto their target. This would hopefully confuse Kraven CIWS systems for a vital second and then present them with another threat of torpedo’s, it proved very difficult for many captains to be able to outmanoeuvre a torpedo but keep their CIWS trained on incoming missiles. And that was exactly what Diaz was hoping for, massive confusion and destruction…

[OOC: Negative, depleted uranium has always been proved to be the stronger of the two substance for a sabot shell. Furthermore, studies have proved that the mixing of the two metals actually make the substance more brittle.

Tungsten may be denser, but its more prone to shattering, while depleted uranium is self shaping and gives a far greater impact, and has more resistance to the impact.

On RAMjets, that's always been my argument, however, there's so many people that use RAMjet on sea-skimming missiles I've just decided to use them. However, it doesn't really matter, as I can change them to a standard rocket jet and it would do the same thing, at the same velocity - RAMjets are probably a worse propulsion system for a sea-skimming missile anyways...I just use them to stress the point that I'm PMT technology.]

The Kraven Ships were hit hard by the missile salvo, their Ligh Mounted anti ship missile system was stretched to capacity, managing to bring down a large portion of the salvo, but failing to completely stop it, several of the smaller ships had been devastated their hulls torn apart and their bridges a flame,

The Bismark classes had survived the first few salvos, but still several missiles finding their mark, hitting the forward armour... tearing holes in the armour but not low enough to allow water to enter...

The Vtols hammered their Twin Ram jet engines(OOC: These are not RAM jets as in the sence your Missiles are using, its just a terminolgy I gave them because of the Forward turbines literaly Ramming the Air into the Ignition ports) causing the craft to vear out of the way of incomming missiles, suddenly stopping mid air as the engines quicky rotated to alter the force of the engines... but the attack was called off before it truley began...

The Grand Admiral stood on the bridge of the Obliteratorlooking grim... it had all gone so wrong so fast... he couldn't understand where all of these fleets just appeared from, they were attacking this Island with the Intention of aiding the Macabees but instead found themselves on the receiving end of a Macabee attack...

"This is the Grand Admiral to all Kraven Ships Prepare for Combat Withdrawal" he looked tired and forlorn...

"Ensign, Signal Kravonika we Need a tactical Retreat"

"Understood" The operator began sending a coded message to Kravonika, Relaying Co-ordinates of the Macabees fleet... The Numonican Silos would launch a series of Non Nuclear ICBMS at the Macabees fleet, with the intention of covering the retreat of the battlefleet..

The Island was no longer of any importance, While the fleet prepared to retreat Assault ships returned to pick up the Sardaukar, any that were left behind would self terminate in a violent explosion that ensures no salvagable parts are left...

The Capitol Police on the other hand were remaining, using the Artillery that had been set up to harrass the Macabees fleet while the rescue attempt continued....

The Kraven Fleet continued to fire upon the Macabees fleet and now split its fire to the Dumpsterdam fleet... until all the assault ships returned and were ready to move away, leaving behind this little worthless peice of Soil behind...

++ Numonica ++

The Silos of the Kraven ICBM programme slowly opened to reveal several ARCTURUS Class ICBM's these would normaly be carrying a nuclear payload, but instead were modified anti shipping missiles, these were designed to penetrate the armour of a ship using kinetic energy, the force of gravity and the propulsion of the engine to force the warhead into the heart of the offending ship, these particular ARCTURUS Classes were kitted out with C12 a far more explosive version of C4, C12 was used extensivly by the Capitol Police to Level buildings, when capturing them proved too difficult...

4lbs of C12 is enough to collapse a small apartment block, where as 2000lbs of C12 was enough to Level a city block,

The warhead would penetrate the armour, sending the warhead into the heart of the enemy ship, then after a few seconds delay ensuring the warhead is safely snuggled within the Ship, explodes tearing the ship apart from with in...

and as the Kraven Fleet disengaged... The Arcturus Classes were launched to cover the tactical retreat....

War of The Fugue Straits

The heavy naval fighting had began to subside a bit as the Kraven fleet began to withdraw from the area, attempting to rescue their units stranded on the islands they had attempted to take. Battle Group November would continue to pelt the enemy fleet with rounds, although all subsequent aerial operations were to be postponed, even permanently cancelled. In short, November would allow Kraven's men and fleet to leave unharmed, except those who continued to fire on November's positions. However, it was expected that the ending salvos would cause relatively little harm to either side, except perhaps for a few small ships in both fleets. But, for the most part, the battle of Fugue Straits, which made up the war, had ended with but a whimper. But all that would soon change.

The MS reconaissance sattelite system had caught several infra-red explosions throughout missile silos in Numonica, processing them as emerging inter-continental ballistic missiles. Simply put, one couldn't tell if they were armed with a conventional warhead or a nuclear warhead, and that would ultimately be the key factor in the Empire's retribution decision.

The MS system had already transferred the information to the GPALS clusters dotting the near solar system, and that itself had sprung to life immediately. The pods mounted within and outside the several sattelits belonging to each cluster let loose a torrent of at least two hundred 'brilliant pebbles' as they were known. They were small rockets, which moved using jet pods that would increase a force in any given direction, meaning the brilliant pebbels used little fuel, and had excellent manueverability. They also had a small camera mounted on its nose which allowed the GPALS constellations to guide their rockets.

As Kraven's ICBMs popped into the outer atmosphere, and then into space for their brief flight in the area, the brilliant pebbles were quick to pick up the infa-red from the outeratmosphere and then the image itself of the missile. Some of the brilliant pebbels broke off towards the group, others kept on going in case more missiles showed up. Those that were intended to intercept the outbound group covered the distance in just about sixty seconds, giving brief flashes of light throughout space.

All the while November and the Empire had been warned as well. The Empire's land ABM system was put on alert, but the trajectory didn't fit, so it was covered again. On the other than, November manuevered. The problem of using an ICBM as an anti-shipping weapon was the ICBMs normally made cork-screw manuevers, but beyond that the missile was basically unguidable and unmanueverable, consequently, all November had to do was to change spots for some of the ships, and the missiles were consequently evaded.

The brilliant pebbles had done their work, destroying most of the missiles, but some continued to come in, and most landed in the water, exploding submerged, and nonetheless doing damage to some of the keels - although not mortal damage; two or three others actually hit their targets, destroying two fast attack craft and a logistal ship in an instant, leaving over three hundred dead, and another two hundred wounded, stranded in the cold waters of the Straight, watching their ships explode into dozens of pieces, and slowly sink to the bottom.

However, again, the Empire didn't know if the warheads were nuclear or conventional until they exploded, and simply said, they had exploded much too late to find out. Already, the Empire's larger surface to air missile batteries had released sixty Praetorian V Ausf. B surface to air missiles, modified with a larger fuel tank. The missiles screamed into the skies, breaking through the atmospheres, slowly acceleration. By the time it had gone into space the missile was travelling at Mach 27, and once in space, its velocity dissapeared altogether, and it made its way towards projected locations of Kravenite reconaissance sattelites. The ASAT missiles had hoped to either scare the sattelits or destroy them, basically shutting off Kraven's eyes in the sky for the time being. For this task the brilliant pebbles had also gone to work, launching over twenty more rockets, searching for Kravenite sattelites. They found their mark much easier than the ASATs, and with greater manueverability they went for the kill, covering distances in just sixty seconds. It was hoped that the hit would definately shake Kraven for a full withdrawl from the area.

Since the damage had been relatively nothing, it was decided within the timespan of half a second that there would not be a nuclear retribution. The actual decision had popped up when the ICBMs trajectories had been calculated, and it was decided that they were not headed for the Empire. But, had Kraven thought about it, a nuclear holocaust would have begun.

OoC: Sporadic fire from Kraven, will not sink much, will not further engage Kraven if he retreats and you've already dealt with the ICBM's.

Lest I need to do/say more?

(OOC: appologies for lack of posting, Started a new job last week and Im trying to keep up with multipul threads while trying to get enough sleep)

The Kraven Fleet had begun the withdrawal, leaving for international waters,

Sporadic fire from the fleet began to wither as the medium range weapons lost their effective kill zone, and the larger weapons inferior to the vast navy of the Macabees and allies....

This had taught the Kraven High Command a valuable lesson,

A: Its navy Needed updating
B: It needed To Reconsider its Naval Tactics

In short The Corporation would be reforming and refitting its 8 Battlefleets, ensuring something like this doesn't happen again...

But The High Command was sure, that once this was done... The Macabees would face round 2, and hopefully would not come off so lighlty next time...

The Sattelites hit by The Macabees were relativly of no importance, used mainly by the Kraven Chemical Incorporated to search for new mineral reserves, it proved to be a minor inconvinience...

But as the fleet left the Island chain, a message was broadcasted to the Macabees fleet...

The Events that have happened here, have been most unfortunate, The Corporation was simply hoping to assist your endeavours in, what appeared to be a decsisive move upon the Islands, Our only intentions were to assist a possible future allie and strengthen the ties between our two nations, but after this incident Reconciliation may never occur in My time....

The Grand Admiral

Moments after sending the message, the Grand Admiral turned his Corporate side arm upon himself and took his life, fearing the retribution of the High Command upon his return...

(OOC: Ive left this open so that we can have future conflicts if you wish, I admit my Navy isnt up to scratch, I dont normaly engage in naval conflicts, and this was sort of a learning curve for me)

[OOC: Sounds good. To end this war, I will post the following, and if Noddestan doesn't put it on his map, that's all good, because it'll be on mine.]

The short war had finally ended, and in response, Battle Group November was ordered to return to Targul Frumos to deal with growing problems, the War of Golden Succession. Nonetheless, before their return home they had overseen the dumping of five hundred soldiers per island - islands five, seven and eight - giving the island chain a total of one thousand five hundred defending infantry, plus their logistical considerations. The unloading operations had gone swiftly and it was done within a day, allowing November to return home.

The garrison behind would build a single citadel on each island marking it as territory of the Empire, and this would officially become the first overseas territory the Empire had ever aquired, giving it the collective name of the Territory of Cratia [named after the Cratian Sea, which sulks around the islands]. The citadels would be extremely fortified barracks, each with its own radar and lidar detection sensors, as well as an expansion of the Empire's submarine towed sonar strings.

Further expansions on the island were expected, but the Empire could not afford the massive construction of a military base so far from home while the War of Golden Succession continued to rage. Regardless, the Empire had emerged victorious, and no matter Kraven's threats of later retribution, the Empire had become a true Empire, marking the first time either the First or Second Empire had expanded past what it currently had. Fedor would go down in history as a conqueror.
