BREAKING NEWS:

"Andrew Polra has just been sentenced to death by the High Court. Mr. Polra was arrested last week, charged with the rape of two young girls and the disappearance of a third. With very little persuasion, Mr. Polra gave the location of the body of the third girl and stood trial for his actions. DNA proved that all three victims were raped by Mr. Polra.

It should have been a simple case, but there was one catch. Mr. Polra has the mental capacity of a four year old. The prosecution, however, claims this fact is irrelevant."

"Though it true that Mr. Polra does not have the same level of thought as normal adults, that doesn't change the fact that three girls' lives have been destroyed by him. Mr. Polra must pay for his crimes.

"It seems the court has agreed, and Mr. Polra will be facing the Sonic Emitter this evening."

OOC: It's been a while....is this FT or MT, this bit of news?

IC EDIT:

The Workers State approves of this man's sentence. The man was mentally disabled, and in the Workers State, such a condition would have normally warranted an insanity plea and confinement to a mental institution.

But such actions, the realm of perverts and war criminals, are inexcusable, no matter the level of development of the person. Therefore, we say to the Government of Dancing Penguin-do evil unto evil.

A four year old child does not go out and rape children. This man deserves death.

Gryphendor applauds the nation of Dancing Penguin for its choice in justice for this beast, who had the potential and tenacity to continue with his dreadful crimes.

No civilized country would have the death penalty.

OOC: In that case, consider my edited-in message valid for you. New Dornalia is a Future Tech nation, but I've interacted with Post-Modern nations before.

Message to Dancing Penguins:

Wow. We are enthralled with what you are doing. What you say makes great sense. We have been inspired, and the Council of Judges has decided to levy out a punishment to 32 strongly mentally-challenged children, ranging from ages 6-8, for the death penalty.

However, we may ask you, as we are folllowing your example, should be execute them in Beheadings, The Gas Chamber/Zyklon B Showers, or the Mystery Execution?

No civilized country would have the death penalty.

Then we cannot help you when your nation is run rampant with criminals.

Andaluciae
13-09-2005, 23:15
While Andaluciaen law does support the death penalty for certain crimes, our continuation of concern pertaining to the execution of the mentally handicapped restrains us from endorsing the actions of Dancing Penguins. On the same note, we also will not be condemning DP for this decision, as they are most likely guided by different constitutional and ethical guidelines than Andaluciae.

While such a situation is incredibly despicable, current Andaluciaen policy regarding such circumstances would include a small, dark hole for the perpetrator, and safeguards to ensure that the perpetrator could not escape and harm any more of society's truly innocent.

In a closing note, keep him locked up tight until you execute him, lest he attempt to escape.

The Democratic Nation of Haughey salutes you in your choice to execute a true menace. The only thing we would have done different was that he would have been shot.

OT: I hate to sound like an idiot, but what is Future-Tech and Modern tech? I mean, I have a good idea but how do you become one and how does it effect you?

True. But we prefer to send them to forced labor camps.
