ATTN! A Desperate Call for Help!

Sel Appa

Kept silent until now, Sel Appa has acknowledged that a Populist Revolution is taking hold of the nation. They have been bombing government facilities and kidnapping officials. They have not yet hit the capital, Nemnenait, however. The Army is overstretched by another revolution in Anvorbuod, protecting the capital, occupying Shizl Gzngahr, and abroad on special missions. Chancellor Ngu Phuok Dinh has issued a distress call to the international community:

"Our troops and police are losing ground quickly! It is overstretched...and can't be expanded much more! Please, we ask that relief aid come as quickly as possible. We need approximately 950,000 troops to protect the capital and 1.2 million to replace our troops in Anvorbuod. Also, any supplies are greatly appreciated and appear to be allowed into rebel areas, if unarmed...."

It is hard to tell what to make of the crisis and how the Populists gained power so quickly. They moved switfly, in a similar fashion to a Socialist Revolution earlier. If no help arrives, government officials may flee and plunge much of Sel Appa into anarchy.

We will do what we can to aid you, but these enemies seem to be fighting in ways different than what you are used to you. As a survivor of many civil wars ourselves, Jenrak knows that change is often neccessary, but not in excess such as this. We will begin mobilization and get ready to send forces over.

Sel Appa graciously thanks you for your kindness. Our own troops will fight them for the most part, but we need backup to reinforce our existing positions.

Before we do anything, are there any ports that we are able to bring forces in? Or any airports that are still in your control?
Sel Appa
13-09-2005, 03:20
Certainly! All northern ports are fully operational and the ultrasafe Fizroe Bay is still open. Most northern airports are open, but the southern ones will likely allow impartial relief in.

The Peoples Republic of Korridan wishes to know the belief and cause of this populist revolution, and the belief's and ideals of the government.
Populism is a toned down form of socialism. There is no collectivization. Big business is broken up into small business for the most part or heavily controlled. Small business and the common man is the main focus. There is some equalization of income, but not as much as in socialism. Poor people still pay a small amount of tax, but rich people aren't subjected to very high ones either.

Sel Appa is a government similar, but different to the US. We follow a socialistic-capitalism economy. Transport and Utilities are government-owned, as is some industry and manufacturing. All retail is private. Our current executive: Chancellor Ngu Phuok Dinh is a moderate Communist.

OOC: After much self-debate, I have decided to push Sel Appa forward in time 2 years to 2007. The date is the same as RL, just +2 years. This happens before the revolution, so it is 2007 during it. This all has a reason.

btw, in the end the populists will be defeated in a huge battle, but will succeed in people's minds.

MEMO
TO: EMBATTLED GOVERNMENT OF SEL APPA
FROM: CHAIRWOMAN DEBRA MACKENSAY, FOREIGN RELATIONS MINISTER, CEO OF BIOGEN INDUSTRIES

On behalf of the Federation of Joint Conglomerates, I regret to inform you that we officially deny your, what was, I am sure, heart-rending appeal for military aid. The cause of both populism and socialism are inherently evil. Only a strictly laissez-faire capitalist society in which the owners of multi-billion dollar corporations make decisions for the people can truly be called free.

Thank you, and God bless the almighty dollar.

Windy dusty air, only softly strewed upon his face, his hair locking into his way, as the copters still quickly edged along the boundaries, their naval counterparts still trudging along into Sel Appan waters, cannons and transports on the ready, the engines revving for response. A tall skinny man, with a black suit covering his body, was ahead of the forces, in a personal copter of his own, as he tried to vainly push his way into the territory, missiles blazing and flaring in strokes.

“Are we ready?” He asked on his communicator, where a crackled voice replied.

“Not yet, we need to place the rest of them down.” He said.

“Alright.” He replied. They had entered Sel Appa.

OOC: I seem to be going on a bad post spree lately....augh.

In a boardroom at the top floor of a five-hundred story skyscraper...

Eleven men and women in muted business suits are seated around a massive mahogany concference table in the center of the cavernous boardroom. On one side of the room, a man stands alone staring out the window, this back turned to the executives, his hands demurrley clasped behind his back.

"Chairman Stryker, I am afraid that our extensive analysis of the Sel Appan position on the global stage has proven inaccurate. They are more firmly established than we had anticipated... Sel Appa is receiving overwhelming international military and monetary support... They will make a full recovery, Chairman."

The man at the window does not say anything in reply, makes no motion to even acknlowledge that he had heard Chairwoman Mackensay say anything. Moments pass in silence... one of the executives coughs uncomfortably. After what seems like an eternity, a soft, inhuman laugh is heard coming from the man by the window. Chairman Stryker, CEO of Omnipresent Inc. and leader of the Federation of Joint Conglomerates turns and faces the board. Although the room is flooded in light, his face appears to be cloaked in shadow.

"Ladies and gentleman," he purrs in his honeyed, arrogant voice, "we are all in agreement about one certain thing: the future of Sel Appa could cost the Federation billions of prescious dollars, or it could generate billions of prescious dollars. It's warm water ports, it's uranium rich soil.... Well, I won't make you drool over things you already know. Sal Appa is a cash cow of a nation, and yet for years now it's ridiculous little socialist government, all concerned about the simple little "people," has doggedly refused us the right to expand there. It has, as you know, been rather frusterating."

He suddenly lunges forward and with startling crazed look in his eye slams his fist down on the smooth mahagoney surface of the conference table.... Then, as suddenly as this outburst appeared it was gone. Chairman Stryker laughs carelessly, then says "The solution really is rather simple, respected members of the board." He turns and smiles. "We are going to aid the rebels. Once they are established, we will be able to use them as a puppet... We will bend them, ladies and gentlman"...

Twelve hours later...
A fleet of black helicopters air lift billions of tons of weapons, ammunition, supplies, tanks and aircraft into the rebellion's territory. When the rebels realize what are in the giant metal crates, they take up a cheer, but by then the black helicopters are long gone.

Can you back your claim of billions of tons of supplies? Anyway, you could pose an interesting third front. If the capitalists see they have a foreign ally, they might take up the fight. You could also aid Anvorbuod, which is a capitalist province(much to the nation's dismay).

I want Sel Appa to plunge into anarchy, have a recall election, or stay in place. Let's see how it goes.

From the metal cage-like catwalk, the roaming steel cuirasses that held the water from splashing into the dense metal ends of the amphibious transports, steel motors trucking along amongst the frothing white caps of the waves, the ridged beaches and the lands of Sel Appa still askew from far off, so deftly and small and fragile it seemed, but it began to grow, to only increase in resolve and size and strength, and fear and greatness as the fleet emerged from their dormant rumbling and wander. Steel lined along steel, the thimble turrets line massively in great cannon rows as the seemingly stone-like amphibious transports chugged their way, so swift and agile, twirling in great swift twists, the soldiers inside leaving behind a trail of vomit as they try to regain their senses as every lunge and every sharp curving turn placed them more and more in disorientation. This was the normal way of the typical Jenrakian marine, the normal soldier blessed in the Siren caste. They were strong, they are fast, and they work. They do what their commanders, their superiors, whether be imperialistic or foreign, tell them to do. They will do as they are asked, no matter what the task, as unbefitting or gruesome it may be, they are charged to do it, and now they are once more called into service into foreign.

For only so deftly do these soldiers ever meet a foe on Jenrakian soil, and last time they had done so they had witnessed a massive enemy, so great and taunting against them, that the Sirens would have had to flee in complete reorganization to become stronger to defeat them. The last time they saw action on their own soil was the backstab of Sandurian soldiers, and the civil war that followed. Now, like they usually are, the Sirens, main forefront legions of the Jenrakian infantry divisions, began to arrive into another foreign land, to fight another foreign foe. Why did they do this? Many would ask, and most of them would answer with only one reply: religion. Such a theocratic, heavily entrenched culture and religion in Jenrak, that their constant warmongering of their superiors, the never-ending threats from the Gods, motivated the Sirens and gave them the resolve and the will to fight. Now, once more, they would be called upon to serve in this war.

The first wave of Sirens emerged in droves of ten aboard each transport, all bearing the same symbol: a twisted blood red ‘S’, seemingly slashed upon the steel transport, but anyone who looked close enough could tell the dripping of liquid the paint had left behind. As they approached Sel Appa’s lands, the large metal bay-like doors, as if they were miniature carriers, slammed down with a heavy hard thud, and the light pierced into their shells for the first time in a while. They were sick of being cooped up in the darkness for hours, like chickens to be placed into the slaughter, and perhaps that is what they are: chickens about to die. Perhaps that is their fate, perhaps not. Perhaps reinforcements will come in time to keep their resolve strong and valorous, to them, perhaps none will come and they be forced to resort to dangerously promiscuous tactics. All that is known is that once that metal plate fell down upon the first wave of transports, their cuirasses digging deep into the shallow dirt, the Sirens felt the breath of fresh air for the first time.

Many people could not distinguish the Siren from the Munamark, a class two levels lower than the Sirens in the Jenrakian infantry divisions. Unlike their inferior counterparts, the Siren are placed with a small tattoo on their wrist, writhing around their arms like a twisting snake that was ready to consume them. On their neck, was a tiny trigger, that would blow their suits up, triggering an electric shock throughout their body, and creating tiny bomb-like person. But now, was not the time to discuss, as the Jenrakian battleships still floated dangerously in the ocean, waiting for a move, the Sirens still exiting from their confinement in a hot and dank transport, finally feeling the rushing of the waves between their toes, the grains of sand crushed beneath their feet.

It was there, it was then, that a taller Siren, larger than the rest, emerged alone from the last transport, with a malign look on his face, intent and squinting in the bright sunlight. He tried to cover up his view of the dazzling rays, but the light seemed to still trickle through his fingers, and it became overbearingly annoying. Getting out further, feeling the cold wind smash into his body, the man looked around confidently, counting the men that were there. He seemed to do it with great fervour and enthusiasm, but soon enough he lost interest and finally moved onwards, looking back as the amphibious transports rallied up and began to drift back towards the rushing sea, the cannons far-off still locked upon the shoreline. With a black sleek communicator in his hands, he opened a blank channel, so that any nearby transmitters or radar could catch it’s signal. With a strong, confident voice, he spoke behind his dark mask, “To all forces, Jenrakian soldiers have arrived. Please notify of location to next position.” He said, pocketing it.

In the sky, flying far off in their choppers, the man in the foremost heard the transmission crackle to life on his board. After he heard the message, he replied back on his communicator. “Jenrakian soldiers, do you have the package?” He asked, his choppers full of commandoes still perched around him, following him to find a suitable location to land.

The Lead Siren nodded towards the package of biological and chemical tanks and barrels, and the vials strapped around the soldiers’ arms, and he grimaced evilly. “Yes, all packages right here. Stun, kill and rabid poisons accounted for.” He said, closing the channel again, waiting for another response.

“Then move northeast of your position, while we try to find a rendezvous point for you to set up in. Then we can begin transmissions to all friendly Sel Appan forces.” The man in the chopper said, twisting about in the air, leaving a smoking trail behind.

“Yes, Sir.” The Siren said, as the channel was closed once more.
