OOC: Just need a person to be the other nation... observing nations may join in too
IC: He looked out into the cold blackness of space, wondering, thinking. Space, the one arena that was unconquerable by the Emperors. He had served his lords for 40 years, and was lucky to be admiral at such a young age by Sebecean standards. He was here, in orbit around Oplima Rex, a barren world that had been newly added into the Imperium. He turned away from the window, and looked and his computer, a message waited for him to open- orders, and as he looked closely at them, he noticed a suborder on it, 'To be deleivered to 1st Admiral Brennen Vhen, Fate of Blood'. This was an obvious clue, an order to him, sealed by the 'Fate of Blood', and only something like this could make his next promotion, and possible his death.
After reading the orders, Vhen looked back into space, as he activated the bridge of the Dreadnought Khan. There was a short pause, and then his second in command (ExO) responded, with a hoarse "Sir!"
Vhen replay sharply, and somewhat coldly, "Capt. Junde, plot a subspace jump to the quardinates, Melkan Sector, V.780.87665.0934Homelef, over!" he knew that Junde would do his job without question, but Vhen felt nervous and slightly sick. He shut off the com as Junde finished his last 'Sir', and he continued to look out the window as the Ships intercomms started the countdown to SSPC jump. He As the voice hit two the Admiral said a short Sebecean prayer, and as he looked out, the space began to distort; it twisted and turned and it finally broke in a flash of light. The Admiral stood there slightly blinded by the light, but as he regained his sightm he saw that he was over a new planet, somewhat ugly and hostile compared to the massive forests and huge crystal feilds of Higar and Fedia. He looked back at his orders, and read that the planet had been known for many years but, intelligent life on it was not suspected until recently. His orders on this mission were clear, destroy or assmilated the native culture and if it is part of a greater empire, to wipe out the colonists to prevent another incursion into the Sebecean Democratic Imperium.
Vhen activated his wrist computer and tapped out and sent a copy of his orders to his ExO to fulfill. He sent the data to the bridge and powered down the microcomputer and began to stare at the planet once more.
"BattleStations, BattleStations, Set condition 1 through out the ship; BattleStations, BattleStations, Set condition 1 through out the ship" the loudspeaker blared. The Dreadnought came alive, men running to their posts, Banshee and Valkayrie pilots ran to their craft, and the Orbital Marines prepared for a hot oribital insertion. For the first time in 30 years had the Khan been alive, and Vhen was here to see it.
"Admiral to the Bridge!", blared the loudspeaker. Vhen turned away from the window, and walked toward the door of his quarters. As he neared the door, he saw a glimse of himself in the mirror; a well built man about 5'7" in his height, he had short dark brown hair, and deep green eyes. In seeing his reflection he turned to make sure his uniform was alright. After checking himself, he walked to the door, not slowing down as if there was no barrier there, but the door open quickly. He exited his quarters and walked down the hall to the lifts. He took one up to the Flag Room, and when it stopped the door opened with the sound of the typical, "Room Atench-HUT!"
"Atease", Vhen muttered, as his ExO walked up with a datapad.
"Sir, here is our position, status, and system read out." Junde voiced with a more releived voice than before.
Vhen glanced at the screen, and determined no steller resistance would be met, yet. He sighed, there was going to be no special combat, no fight to prove Sebecean power. Vhen looked up at the main screen, data was flowing in about what appeared to be a vast military or colonial complex or someother structure of great importance. He typed in a small code on the datapad as he began to sit down. The main screen began to construct the outside model of the complex and surrounding area and possible ambush points. Vhen looked over the model that his advisors made up, and made a few changes, and soon after that Vhen ordered the attack to begin.
Once Vhen got back to his quarters, he went to his desk and began typing a Com to Fleet Command. Near the end of the message, the ship began to fufill it perpose. The Khan started to slightly rock from the recoil of the guns and the correction thrusters. Inside, a series of low thumps was felt by Vhen. He then got up turned and watched as bolts of fire rained down on the helpless planet. He also saw and felt the pods that the orbital marines were in. He was sure this promotiong would come.
