War of Reclamation (FT, Open, but ask first)

OOC: Veredia and its colonies have been reunited under the King Vered, and now the newly reformed RVSN is poised to reclaim the worlds that the commonwealth once occupied, and other worlds around Veredia.

IC:

*Royal Palace, Veredia*

King Vered stood in the strategic command room, far underground, deep below the palace. He studied the maps of Veredia and the surrounding region of space. His claim to the throne, and the ensuing reunification of the Commonwealth had gone well, there was resistance at first, but once the factions saw the Royal Fleets in action, most of the opposition disappeared. Even now, troops from the newly formed Royal Veredian Space navy were crushing the last vestiges of resistance.

Now the time had come for the second phase, the reclamation of the worlds that Veredia once occupied before the collapse. But the war of reclamation wasn't just that, it was a war of expansion, worlds allied with the free worlds, supporters of the traitors, would fall to the great fleets of the commonwealth as well. Nothing would stand in Vered's way, Veredia would be restored to its greatness no matter the cost.

"Admiral, one of our first steps should be to reclaim the macross system. It was once the jewel of the Commonwealth, it should be revived. And of course, it has strategic importance and I'm sure we can salvage many of its ancient shipyard and mining facilities to support the fleet." The kind ordered as he looked at the old Macross system on the map.

Macross had once been one of the most glorious and prominent worlds in the Commonwealth, but it had fallen to Corpsac, and was the location of much fighting. When Corpsac was overthrown, the wars and weapons used had turned Macross into a dieing world, but after many years and a slow exodus from the colony, the government started new projects to return the world to its former self. However, when the collapse happened, the projects disappeared, and the people who didn't leave died off, leaving abandoned cities and wartorn wastelands with whole cities that had been glassed from orbit and fields and lakes full of the ruined hulls of fallen warships, including immense Glorious Heritage vessels.

Admiral Tasini nodded to the king, "Yes, your majesty, I will dispatch a small force to search the system and secure it, they should be able to handle any pirates that may be hiding out there. I believe a company should do it. I'll send the orders at once." The admiral turned to his console and dispatched orders that a company of twelve ships be sent to Macross to secure the system, while an expedition to begin the work of reclaiming the abandoned stations and the spaceports on the ground.

*2nd House Tasini Battalion, Veredian system*

A third of the battalion had seperated from the fleet, six corvettes, four frigates, and a pair of destroyers. The heavier vessels remained with the battalion, the battalion commander believing that it would be best to keep the heavy firepower with the main fleet should they be needed, then to send them off on a scouting mission.

The task force was commander by Captain Fletcher, aboard the RVSS Redeemer. The twelve ships opened up jump points and moved into hyperspace.

Some time progressed, and as the company moved through hyperspace, they prepared for the mission. There was little concern for enemy contact, afterall, Macross had been abandoned at the time of the collapse, the biggest threat would be a couple pirates who would run at the sight of a warship company emerging with Royal transponders, and ghosts. And ghosts could do little to harm a full blown Veredian warship.

The force reached its destination and emerged from hyerspace, transmitting a message as per standard operating procedure, not that there would be anyone to pick it up.

To: Any and all life in the Macross system
From: RVSS Redeemer, Royal Veredian Space Navy
Message:
To all personnel in the Macross system, I am Captain Fletcher of the Royal Veredian Space Navy, this system has been reclaimed in the name of the Noble Commonwealth of Veredia, all personnel with comm systems able to make contact are to transmit confirmation of submission to the Veredian Commonwealth, any force refusing to do so will be deemed hostile to the throne, and dealt with accordingly.

Elostirion, The City Upon The Black, Ranhíy

The Tallest Tower of the great white city reached towards the sky like some immense beacon, an attempt to reach the clouds, whilst its smaller friends clambered up below him, but it was neither, it was the Chamber's and offices of the Ranhíy Colonization Committee, The Governor, And the Traders Union For A Prosperous Elostirion.

Lhunthós was just another noble on the sea-worlds, but here, here, well, it could be argued he was the most important elf around, and afterall, he was governor. He sat complacently at his office overlooking the Plains of Ranhíy, A Planet marred once in its past, but well on the way to recovery under the guidance of the elves of The White Havens.

Light of Skin and fair of hair, Lhunthós really looked no different, his more than active eyes of blue drunk in what he could see, before the sharp knock on the Ran-wood door.

"Enter" He called.

The door opened without a creak or undesirable sound, but Lhunthós was greeted by a rather concerned looking Comm's officer, that was when he learned of what had come to pass, And what the home councils had ruled.

Ranhíy was protected by only 2 ships of the Swan Navy, of course, traders needed to be protected, but at the end of the day, this was a new world, and was deemed safe, so that was all there was.

And so it transpired that Lhunthós replied, In a tongue that could be answered by the new.

To: "Veredian Vessel"
From: Elostirion City, Ranhíy
Message:
This is not the Macross system, and you are not its lords, and quite frankly, considering the damage to its ecosystem we repaired, you have more than fanciful thinking if you beleive we will merely move out of our glorious citadel, or submit to your "Commonwealth", The Governer of Ranhíy has spoken, and the Ruling Councils of White Havens Agree, If you have at least the common courtesy to realise that you will not gain anything but bloodshed from force, feel free to dispatch an envoy at a later date to discuss trade deals, But Untill then, Please leave White Haven Space.

Of course, all that lay between the Veredian Fleet was 2 Destroyers, a Trade Post and ultimately Elostirions myriad defences, but he hoped that it would not come to that, And hoped that they did not notice.

Surely it wouldnt come to that..
