The Target: Plannetia IV, or at least that's what the Al-Imvad records called it. Sometime in the near future it would come to be known to the common soldier as Bloodbath IV. But that was ahead, right now the hasty alliance between Al-Imvadjah, Khurgan, Zatarack, and Hyperspatial Travel was all that had kept their troops transports from being completely destroyed. Soon it would be time for the airborne troops to board their dropships and carve out a safe base of operations on this hostile world.
-----
It was in fact hardly a fight, with the only loss being a damaged axel on a tank, which could be easily repaired. The primitive natives, almost all civilians, had been completely routed by the appearance of advanced spacecraft and powerful weapons. At that time all the infantry beleived it would be an easy campaign, most of the major conflict occuring in the negotiating room to split up the planet.
----
As John Grelt disembarked from the last shuttle, his electronic eyes looked over the rapidly forming basecamp. He went among the temporary structures rising on among him, looking for the general in command of Al-Imvad operations. He found him, as expected, in the command bunker. He entered just as some unexpected fireworks went off in the sky above, Cortez burning his ships. Al-Imvadjah had been the first to land, but allies and rivals would soon be establishing their own bases, and certain parties would soon be thinking about the possibility of retreat. Failure is not an option for Al-Imvad armies.

Lord Bhaal and his men marched through the burning streets of the city, stalking their prey. Bashing down a door with a single swing of his mailed hand, Bhaal peered into the dark interior. Sniffing the air with his batlike nostrils, he grinned, baring huge fangs.

"I can smell your fear..."

His answer was a blast from a primitive shotgun. The pellets rattled against his armor, several gouging holes in his face, one taking out an eye. Of course, with seven, he would barely miss it, but the principle of the matter...

"Pathetic fool. You think a simple slug-thrower would be enough to kill the favored of Tzeentch?"

Lightning fast, the Tzaan-Lord reached for his bolt-pistol. Before the mortal could so much as flinch, the inferno bolt had penetrated his gut. With a horrid screech, the man detonated, spraying flaming blood and gore across the room.

By the light of the grisly flames, Bhaal could see the man's family standing about the room, cowering in terror. Motioning to his men, Bhaal walked from the room. The family would be gathered, taken to prison camps assembled in the center of the city. There, they would be converted, or they would die. Either way, they would serve the Changer of the Ways.

Stepping into the crisp cold air, Bhaal flicked on his Vox unit.

"All troops. We will use this city as our base of operations. Continue the hunt, but fortify the area. I want this city Changed by morning. Bhaal out."

Smiling, Bhaal resumed the hunt. Slowly but surely, Change was coming to this world.

OOC: Enter Blue Team.

Task Force LV-312 (renamed), dispatched to capture the planet of Plannetia IV and it's people for induction into the Allied States. Aided by it's Chronisan, CorpSac, and (oops) allies, the Task Force assembled in orbit over the planet. The Velkyan Componet, consisting of 2 dozen ships, proceeded to set up the OAP platform over the planet. Housing 4 massive-sized MAC guns, the station could rain down hellfire like God himself. The other ships began to form up around the OAP and the Pride of Selka II, the flagship of the Velkyan Fleet, as they began to launch fighter sorties around the LZ. Making sure the LZ was clear of any hostiles, the Valkyries proceeded to fly cover while the first wave of Pelicans and Lodestars poured from the fleet. Minutes later, the first dropship, carrying Sgt. John Knowles and his squad, hit the dirt 10 miles out from a civilian town. Climbing into several Warthogs, they down the turf, shadowed by a Wolf, just in case the natives or enemy brought armor.

They entered the town. It looked deserted. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a native jumped out with a tool of sort at John. John reacted quickly, grabbing the alien into a sleeper hold. He lost consicousness. Speaking through a Audio Translator Device, he began to soothe the townsfolk.

"People of Plannetia IV, we, the Allied States of Velkya, wish to welcome you to our republic. Please do not fire upon us, as we will be compelled to fire back."

They began to set up camp outside town, building Barracks, defenses and motor pools. Pelicans and Lodestars shuttled back and forth. So far, no soldier had been killed, but a Pelican lost a engine due to a lightning strike and was forced to ditch a mile outside town, which injured most of the crew.

By nightfall, 100,000 troops were on the ground, and they began to set up defenses and began forays into the surrounding areas. By next morning, they had captured 184 sqaure miles of territories with only a few losses due to jumpy natives.

But the Admiral knew that things would get hairy, very, very fast.

The fleet skimmed through space, joining the Al-Imvad fleet. Although small, it contained the deadly Hive Orbs, which could form endless swarms of troops, and a few fighters, and the like. Twenty-four thousand humans came with the fleet, some as Freeish Riders, some as pilots, some as repairmen, some as engineers. But, for the most part, they were for the Freeish. These huge beasts, with overwhelming numbers, could blot out the sun, and with mounted turreteers and a rider, were as capable as a plane, and ten or twenty could easily decimate a fighter.

But, for now, they began to land. The Hive Orbs, melting, spewed forth troops, troops in the form of hideous monsters, and, where each cluster of Hive Orbs gathered, it sunk into the ground, and a Breeder was formed. The nearby natives were taken, and used as food, as were plants, earthworms, and, indeed, anything living. The Freeish, the first phase of the plan, were let free, as they required no food, and simply ingested nutrients from the air, and were easy to care for, and gentle. Each one soon had either a plasma, or a laser cannon turret mounted on their back, and a rider, crooning to the Freeish, and keeping it calm.

The rest of the decaying Hive Orbs were kept in safety, as the remainder of the ravenous troops were not required yet, and bringing them out now would be foolhardy, and show what precise forces they had. With each 10 Breeders, a Lat'rion psy-controller was there, keeping the creatures pacified, while shielded, cloaked, and well-armoured, not to mention guarded.

It was hard to keep the correct mindset for this mission, the general mused. Indeed, it was his troops that were expendable, and his 'special unit' that was untouchable, as he would not like to lose control of these creatures, no indeed! He only really needed a single psy-controller, but he knew he would lose many in the run of the war, and certainly didn't wish to be left with a ravening horde of creatures, thirsting for his blood, now did he?

Within a day, Velkyan numbers on the planet reached into the upwards of 200,000 combat soldiers. With another Velkyan Landing Fleet coming in a few hours, the troops now took the oppurtinity to fortify themselves. Lodestars began to drop Scorpian Main Battle Tanks and Mobile Artillery Walkers, along with thousands of Battle Suits. Within hours, the Velkyan's had established a highly fortified Landing Zone for the next Marine Division when it arrived.

-The bridge of the Pride of Selka II-

"Damn it...where are our allies?!"

"They are still several days out, sir."

The Admiral looked frustrated, and began to pace around the bridge.

"What happens if the enemy decides to hit us with all his numbers?"

"I don't know...sir..."

"We die, that's what. Get the Blue forces on the line, tell them to get thier asses here double time, got it?"

"Yes, sir."

He then looked to the embattled world. Soon, it would rife with carnage.

A large amount of the city currently designated as the Zatarack HQ for the planet was in ruins. Some of it from the war, the rest because itn was being replaced with more "up-to-date" facilities. The center of operations was in the industrial section. The operation had gone swimmingly, allowing a minimal amount of damage to be inflicted on the area. Meaning it was quite well suited to being cannibalized.

In the center of the twon were the remains of City Hall. It had been mostly left intact and was serving as a personnel center, as prefab shelters, despite their advantages, we're not very popular among the soldiers. The area in front of City Hall had been converted to a AUCC(Armored Unit Command Center). All in all, it looked to be a very easy operation.

Mike and hisa battered forces were forced to come out of Enchanach drive long enough to effect repairs, their massive Battleglobe, Dahak, was a wreck, plasma blasts had rent its basttlesteel hull, and Warp(not l.ike 40k Warp) missilwes had take chunks of the ship into hyperspace, and part of the crew with it, the only portion of the force onboard that remained more or less intact was the ground assault units, and Dahaks Sublight Battleship Parasites.

The Darkside of the world would be the landing, under the cover of dark 2 of the 3 Battle Class Invasion Dropships disengaged from the Massive Jumpship in orbit to fall into the world.

The large Egg shaped dropships carrying an Army of there own supported by the 87th Planetary Dropship core fell to he planet, the heat generated by the Ships entering the atmosphere was intence. The people of the planet would see 2 Massive burning balls falling to there world with smaller ones dottened around them, the BCID fired there Entry engines to slow themselves down as the fell to the surface like stones.

As the BCID's landed creating creators as they landed with such force, dust fired outwords with such force it nocked over trees and other things near by.

The smaller dropships from the 87th would land in the 2 of the cities within 5 miles of the Invasion Dropships, the troops disengageing shoting anything that moved. Within hours the cities would be under martal law with, soon the Main Force of the armies would sacure the area and start to take on what ever they confronted.

With in the spain of an hour the 87th Army (imperial guard) and the 49th (venture Guard) had landed, over a million troops on the ground but only 200,000 of them ready to fight.

===================

Jack looked round, he had straped on his hunting armor and put on his leather Long coat. Cheaking his hunting buddy Sasha was kitted properly, this was her first Invasion of a world and he didnt want to lose his newly embraced Vampire.

"you ok?" he asked her as he picked up his Assault rifle and his Sword.

"ya" she replyed in a soft voice, he could hear the fear in her voice.

He remebered his first Invasion back during the civil war he understood her fear more then she knew. He cheaked over makeing shore she had the Sun Shield on properly, being cought in the sun with out it would be deadly after all vampires didnt like the sun.

"you'll be fine, the Dropships on the planet and much of our force will be out and fighting. Remember our forces will be getting the best Intel they can get with the jumpship in orbit sending down regular scans of the planets surface to the C&C of the dropships."

"but we have little in the way of air support, the attack dropships and such are no match for proper fighters....we're not fully prepared" she said her blue eyes looking up at him, "we're rushing this invasion" she finished turning round and picking up her weapons.

to true he thought this was a rush and for what ever reason the Emperor wanted us to help others take this world was beond him, even Bart the Prince of this Invasion didnt really know. And the fact that only 2 of the 3 "Allies of the Combined" as most of the Corpsac'an forces called it had come it and not started to work together it was going to be a long fight.

He watched Sasha as she grabed her long coat and weapons, how meny would die in this battle he had no idea but aslong as the fleet above protected the Jumpship it didnt matter.

Alex poped his head in, "master its time"................

Several hours later

Alpha Site, 87th Army (imperial Guard)

Josh looked around, the sun was soon coming up and most of the Kindred troops were wearing full battle suits to protect them from the sun by this time.

Around the Massive dropship tents and small buildings were poping up as 1 of hte Engineering cores set up defences units, roads and small makeshift bases. he watched as part of the 87th PDC dropships/Transports landed with supplys and takeing troops to the front lines, even tho the taken Terrtories were not that large and most of "front line" was more border control tho it ment supply lines were easy to make.

"Captain" a Private said saluting.

"yes" Josh replyed as he saluted back.

"Commander Isic wants you in the brifing tent ASAP sir." the private said handing over Josh's orders.

Josh sighed, it was time for combat he thought he wasnt sent into a zone unless they had something to kill.

"Sir, we have detected craft in orbit" said the Sensor/Comm tech.
"And since you're telling me, they're not supposed to be there. I'll go contact the Commander" said the Sensor/Comm officer Regre.

"So possible hostiles are in orbit and there are possibly ones on the planet. Thank you Regre" replyed Commander Goroc.
"Attention ZVF. We are now on CRA. Cause: The detection of several possible hostiles in orbit. That is all" announced the intercom.

Damn. I hate it when they don't know if it's friend or foe. I hate it even more when they know it's foe but don't say so. Oh great, know you're rhyming, Fredrin. Don't let it get to you as Sgt. Fredrin headed to the motor pool to prepare his squad.

General Smoot, in charge of taking over Plannetia IV, decided that the best course of action would be to weaken the enemy by disrupting them. Throwing the off guard with an assault at this early stage would allow his Al-Imvad forces to set up their defensive perimeter uninterupted. Soon these feilds of wheat would be an airfield for fighter support, but the Goliath dropships of the airborne divisions were ready to fly now, to attack what had been identified as the Corpsac'an LZ.

Part of the First Shocktrooper Airborne were soon flying in loose formationlow over teh countryside, their power armor making them more than a match for any normal man. Flying alongside their one hundred and fifty fully loaded dropships were two dozen of the as-yet untried Icefangs. As mid-range sensors began to pick up the teltale signs of advanced technologies, troopers began loading their weapons and ingesting combat drugs. In a few short minutes, the first major battle would begin.

"Release them. We shall unleash a scourge upon those fools who seek to challenge us."

Fifty Sharvon, the mammoth hundred-metre tall creatures, stood up. The earth itself trembled. It took another step. These things could travel exceedingly fast, and a quick strike force of Freeish, Sharvon, and Yattok, could demoralize the enemy, and send them straight back where they came from.

A thousand Freeish, all mounted with turrets, a rider, and a gunner, began to beat their heavy wings, and fly towards the enemy fortifications. Following them were approximately 100,000 Yattok, their tiny bodies pumping furiously, as they prepared their glands for an attack.

Last, but certainly not least, came the Sharvon. Their mammoth bodies crunching people, homes, and crops alike, they would be the mainstay of this attack, their size obliterating anything that stood before them.

OOC: It didn’t really matter to me, I was going to let you choose. Let’s say the Venture Guard, the 49th. And since you seem to want longer, character-driven posts, I’ll oblige.
IC:
James Hersog wasn’t sweating nervously, not like he had expected, though he was used to the effects of his combat drugs. So far it was just like training, the only difference being that his assault rifle was loaded with real rounds. His suit was feeding him data, tailored to his preferences, and he saw his squad mates’ vital stats and he saw them checking their own weapons. He noticed that it would be only thirty seconds before his dropship hit the ground, and that so far there had been no AA fire. Perhaps they weren’t expecting a dawn assault such as this one. He heard his comm. unit hiss to life as his sergeant told them to stand and get ready to disembark into a firefight. They were in the second wave to land, hitting a few seconds after the first had opened fire.

With a muffled whirr, the door opened and James saw the early morning fog obscuring the ground, and what lay on it. The Goliath began to drop, and he soon found his vision-assist equipment activating as the dropship entered the fog. Suddenly, he heard the distinctive crack of hypersonic railguns. The first wave had landed, and he saw the ground coming up below him. He jumped out, turning in midair to face the enemy as the rest of his squad followed. Falling a few meters and hitting the ground, he once again appreciated the power his suit granted him over a normal man.

As he landed, he raised his assault rifle to his shoulder and opened fire, five-round bursts tearing into the fog as he picked out targets. Next to him, a dragon fire roared to life, its spinning barrels spewing a stream of deadly steel toward enemies. But merely killing soldiers was not the purpose of this raid, and as the third wave landed, troopers began to change focus from their counterparts to nearby buildings. He chose a small temporary structure and targeted it with his RPGs. With a strange drug-induced glee, he watched the explosions rock the building, followed by the collapse of one of its walls.

He then saw a pair of enemy troopers retreating from the damaged structure, again he raised his rifle and fired its deadly railgun, seeing one go down. He turned to follow as the other sprinted around the corner, when he heard a call for a tactical retreat- enemy armor was approaching and the support birds were about to pound the area with heavy rockets. His mission timer read 0:01:08 from leaving the dropship.

Dahak was unable to repair itself fully from onboard stores, that meant they'd have to hit the planet to get what they needed, from what Dahak's sensors could tell they were not much advanced beyond the level of Old Terra's Second World War, it was unlikely they had anything that could even hurt an Armored Combat Trooper, so 4 Sublight Battleships were dispatched to the surface, bearing most of a Diviusion of ACS to get the supplies they needed.

Unbeknownst to Dahak, there were forces on the far side of the planet, and he did not know for exactly that reason, but as the 4 Battleships crossed the day\night terminator their sensors lit up with possible hostile contacts, hundreds of them...

"what the fuck" someone shouted, one of the gouls of the in the 5th Regiment of the 1st Division. The attack from the AI forces had been a shock and just behind the lines, why tho why had the Jumpship missed this.

Gun fire rang across the battle ground, a large outpost built as a stop off point for the 49th Army as they went to the front line and a stop point from the city near by that had to protected. The small group of guards were part of the 5th/1st not the best of the group, out numbered and out maned

Bodies droped as the AI forces attack the unprepared Gouls even tho the gouls had the advantage of takeing a beating and healing quicker then normal with some powers of the vampires it didnt stop them from still being mortal. Meny of them had fallen back to more sacure buildings and trenches fireing there assault rifles at the enemy, the smell of blood and fire was all over the battle ground.

The 2nd wave hit even harder then the first unlucky for the 49th, a battle the couldnt win shorely.

Drake was part of a Venture Hunting party his group of 5 had stoped here due to it being nearly sunrise.

"shit shit shit" he could hear outside as he turned on his UV shield and ran out, in one hand a small but powerful pistal in the other a heavy SMG. He and his team of death dealers ran out side, some useing there powers to help them. all had the power to use supernatral sheilds to protect them, it didnt stop a round at low levels but it did take abit away from the punch. Unlick drake who was walking around few round hitting him as they seemed to bounce off of him, some got though but he didnt notice.

As he ran though fireing at the enemy he watched as some of his party were given Final Death as there bodies burned away, dusted as the Kindred called it sometimes.

"move it move, we have to hold the line" he shouted as he boosted the moral of the gouls, now they seemed to fight even harder to hold them off.

Blood splated across his face from both friend and foe he didnt care as he charged into the thick of battle, when his guns ran out of ammo he pulled out his sword.

He and Jake his partner moved at such speeds it was hard to hit them, slashing and riping people apart as they went along.

He saw a large group and stoped in front of them, befor they pulled the trigger he cast suicide on one of them. The men saw he he seemed to put his own gun to his head and pull the trigger, but it was in vain he didnt see them how could he have as a round riped though his back shattering his heart, final death was dealt to him as his body burned away.

OOC: Just to bring an end to this particular battle. You don't have to answer right away.

Hersog heard alarm bells ringing inside his helmet, he was too slow in getting out, and sure enough behind the next corner he could see the IR signature of tank exhaust. He couldn’t stop now, not with the area about to be plasma’d. He could even hear the whum-whum-whum of plasma blasts flying behind him as the Icefangs plastered the area. It was now getting close to an hour after sunrise, and he’d been fighting for the whole time. Though the early morning mist had disappated, smoke grenades had replaced it in creating chaos on the battlefield that had been an enemy encampment. Though he didn’t see where it came from, somebody’s Matador shell flew past him, exploding furiously against what was most likely the turret, as when he thundered past at thirty miles per hour, he could see that the light armored vehicle’s top was blown open.

He was still trying to make it back to the LZ, there Goliaths would retrieve him, thirty minutes later. The fight had taken a turn for the worse once armor had begun showing up. The 49th’s lack of anti-aircraft support had been a major benefit, but it wasn’t enough to make up for the Shocktroopers’ lack of anti-tank weapons. Fighting alongside him were two other soldiers, each from different squads , one armed with a Dragonfire and the other with a Lewman. If he had taken the time to think about it, bringing Lewmans to this fight wasn’t really worth it- the enemy wasn’t really fielding any heavy infantry. But Hersog didn’t have time to think about this- he was too busy firing grenades into masses of enemy infantry as the man with the dragonfire struggled to clear a jam. Fortunately, it soon whirred back to life and put a wall of protective fire into the advancing enemy. Bound over watch, Hersog retreated a couple dozen meters to behind a rock outcropping. He then loaded his last clip and began covering the others as they joined him. Last clip, not a good thing. Within a few short seconds, it was empty, and he pulled his 9mm pistol from its holster. However, he knew he would have to pick up another gun. He activated energy blades on each wrist and waded into a writhing mass of enemy infantry, each trying not to be the closest to the armored man. He picked up a rifle and returned to what he was best at- firing guns. He was surprised though, by the kick of a chemically launched round. This inferior weapon would hopefully only have to last him a few minutes while he retreated to his transport.

And indeed, it did. Five minutes later, the enemy counterattack broke and the three were able to retreat to their ships with little more fighting. He got onto his Goliath, and found himself to be the only surviving member of his squad. In fact, many of the Goliaths were completely empty. Of the 6000 shock troopers who had launched this first strike, about 1700 were dead and another 500 severely wounded.

"it was pure luck" one of the men said. "they saw our armor comi' and they ran for it"

"dont underestermate them....there was more to this attack then meets the eye, what the body count?" the Captain asked.

"friendly deaths, 90% of the 49th's 5th/1st (Regiment/Brigade) dead, the Venture hunter pack was wiped out. Dam unlucky. we counted over 1700 emeny dead. Anyone who's still alive of theres are being shiped off medical centers." One of the Lt.'s said.

Captain Anderson looked round, the smell of death was something he couldnt understand or stand. The battle had spread across the lines, was it a test of the strength of the CorpSac forces. who knew.

"contact command, tell them the enemy have retreated. Tell them they need to reinforce this area of the line....we wont be hold out with another attack." The Captain said, he looked round as he sat on his tank.

OOC: A new target prehaps? I'll give generic IC mobilization for now, but if somebody'd like to volunteer for a tank battle...
IC

Having temporarily stalled movement of the nearest Corpsac'an force with his lightning strike, General (commanding) Jack Ferton turned his attention to his another target. Approximately 750 miles away was a fortifeid city, defended primarily by what appeared to be armored divisions sitting in the nearby fields (suburbs being suprisingly absent). This target would be too tough for his airborne troops. It would have to be a tank strike.
-----
The soldiers of the First and Second Armored Cav were soon preparing their vehicles for a long drive to a combat zone. But, unlike before, this time airstrikes would preclude the tank strike, as the element of suprise certainly would not be present. Within eight hours, all the tanks were well underway, moving slowly and carefully, to strike the following evening. They would stop to be resupplied once, with dropships flying in fuel for the attack, with another resupply waiting should they be forced to retreat.
-----
With the Icefangs covering the convoy, it fell to the Heron squadrens to soften up the enemy defences. Two squadrens were soon underway, guarded by a squadren of Petrel dogfighters, one armed with heavy bombs to destroy structures, and the other with anti-tank missiles and a mission to destory the enemy armor.

OOC: I'm in for one. Perhaps a larger battle, with several nations involved?

IC: The city burned. The population had been rounded up, systematically sacrificed to Tzeentch, their bodies forming the great Firewyrms, their souls feeding the Changer of the Ways. Thousands of the monstrous chaos spawn stalked the streets, preying on survivors and each other. Yet even the Firewyrms bowed their heads when the armored legions of the Cataphractii rolled by: The Vanquisher battle tanks, resplendant in their crimson armor; the Hydra flak tanks, their automated scanners sweeping the sky for any signs of enemy aircraft; the mighty Baneblades and Shadowswords, giant cannons and lasers all ready to destroy their foes. All these and more, moving out to find their next target. Tzeentch wanted souls, and souls he would get.
