Hevena

Palace of Resion; Kingly Residence:
Drake VII stood pacing. Hevena was a modernizing nation, yet it held dear to it's absolutist roots. Many kingdoms and duchies exsisted within the nation, meaning the nobility was a mass from grand dukes from Patria, earls from Imogene, and so forth. It was greatly confusing at state events. Yet it kept the aristocracy happy.
But there was always one noble who took his quasi-independance to far. Alexander Zylec, grand duke of Sesene. All the regions ruled by the aristocracy were allowed to have small standing armies, in order to keep the nation defended. By Zylec was rapidly raising his army, and it didn't help that he was Admiral of the King's 1st fleet.
Drake VII went over to his desk and pressed the button to activate the intercom.
"Maria? Can you call in prime minister Gregory and grand vizier Hezia? We have business to discuss."
"Yes your majesty. Just a moment."
----
An hour later:
The prime minister and grand vizier entered the room in pomp and ceremony. They both bowed low to Drake VII, and together mumbled the chant: "Praise be to our king." They stood.
"What do you require so late at night sir?" Gregory asked.
"It's about Zylec. He's raising a very large army just to defend his tiny region..I fear he is going to try and become king. He is commander over our first fleet. His region has some heavy industry too..he has a small advantage." Drake VII replied.
"He could just be wanting to better protect his region." Hezia said in a non-chalant tone of voice.
"You're just saying that cause you were raised in his duchy," Drake mumbled. "I believe he is going to attack us. Me specifically. He's never liked my rule.."
"Why?" Gregory asked.
"I abolished Feudal rite five upon the my coming to the throne. It meant nobles were no longer free from taxation. And since his lands are so rich..he got even less money every year." Drake said.
Suddenly, a guard rushed in from the gate heavy with sweat.
"Milord..an army is heading this way." The guard gasped out. Drake stood a little shocked.
"What it's total?" The king demanded.
"I dunno..the man who radioed it to me didn't count. But he said about 230,000..it's mainly infantry, but he has a few motorized vehicles, and 2 or three tanks. It's pretty lowcal, but the city garrison is only about 11,000. It won't be able to hold him off." The guard said.
"What of the First fleet?" Drake asked. The Capital, Desund was a coast city, spawled across many islands. If the first fleet was also under Zylec's control, the city could easily be splitered, and most international trade by sea would be cut off from Hevena.
"I didn't see it, as we're pretty far inland on this tiny island..but I suspect he might use it if the city proves hard to capture by land." The guard replied. Drake turned to the prime minister and grand vizier.
"Send a message to the river sluices on Tio and Fgan island. Have them lock the their gates. I won't let his fleet get into this city.." Drake replied.
"Ah..sir it's late. There is probally no one on duty. This is why he chose to strike now. No one would suspect it." Gregory replied. Drake sighed.
"This is horrible. We need to get all the river gates and sluices locked so he can't spliter the capital. It must remain united, lest we fall. Also, try to gain some international support.." Drake replied.

From: The Kingdom of Hevena, Capital city of Desund
We are under attack! It is not a foreign invasion, but rather a NATIVE one. The grand duke of Sesene has been rapidly expanding his ducal army. Many figured it for better protection, but as we speak his is marching towards the city. Desund is a very odd place. It is spawled across many islands. This may seem mundane, but the grand duke is also in control of the King's 1st fleet. It includes 1 battleship, and four destoriers. If given the chance, the grand duke will be able to spliter the islands and plundge the city in anarchy. We could close the sluices and gates through out the islands, but as it is late, we have no men to man these. We need aid, and urgently.
