Imperial I Armada, Approaching Space Union Waters
A mighty fleet glided across the calm ocean waters amidst the rising sun. As dawn arrived, drums and trumpets across the fleet sounded, awakening the men with the morning watch. This was only the advance force of the initial invasion. There were no actual ground troops: this fleet was purely designed for crushing other navies. The actualy invasion army was several hundred miles behind this one, able to escape home in case the battle didn't go quite as planned.
The commander of the 1st Armada was a seasoned Admiral, Titus Decius. He had slept soundly through the night, confident they would have enough of the element of surprise to at least reach enemy waters before a response was made.
He was confident in his men and his ships; far more confident then he'd been ten years before when the Imperial Navy still operated practically ancient ship designs in what was considered by all to be a paper tiger.
Now, the tiger had grown real teeth.
The admiral sat within his quarters, his servent bringing him his morning tea almost as soon as he sat up in bed. His quarters were far from decorated; quite spartan even compared to other navies. He had but a portrait of the Emperor, a closet containing his uniform and his weapons, his computer, and his secure phone that went strait to the Citadel.
Glancing at the clock above the doorway, he found it was almost time for his daily war council with the Emperor and his various aids.
Ever since the fleets had been dispatched the High Command had kept a close eye on his command. It wasn't that they mistrusted him or underestimated his skill; they knew he was the best and that he was among the most loyal. It was that this would be the first major naval battle the Imperial Navy would fight since the Psovian War in which Doomingsland's weakness in the area of naval action had been demonstrated.
Luckily, the Inkanan Civil War brought an influx of Sarzonian defectors, including disenchanted designers of the Portland Iron Works. It was these men that shaped the new Doomingslandian Navy, now a mighty juggernaught that could appear on one's doorstep at any given moment.
He prayed to God that this navy would perform as expected, for he knew that his enemies had a formiddable arsenal at their disposal.
As he booted up his laptop computer, starting up his secure link to the Doomingsland BattleNet, which immediatly patched him through to the meeting, detecting his clearence codes and schedualing.
The screen switched to that of a darkened yet very ornate room of marble, countless pilars rising up to an unmeasurably high cieling. At the far end of the hall was a large, golden throne; eagle's wings extending out to the left and right of the holy seat.
Sitting atop this mighty throne was a towering figure clad in gleaming black armor, a gladius layed across his lap. His shoulders were broad and strong, covered by obsidian-black polished serated shoulder plates of the armor. On the knees of the armor were meticulously shined golden skulls. He appeared relaxed, his cold brown eyes gazing intently towards his own screen that showed the Admiral. On the breastplate of his armor was a golden cross; a sharp contrast from his black armor. He was clean shaven, the Emperor, his bald head adding to his ferocious, neutral posture. He nonchalantly looked took a puff on a cigar, snuffing the ashes out in a burned out skull on the armrest of his throne, the embers burning ominously through the empty eye sockets toward the admiral.
This sight never failed to unnerve the seasoned sailor, who simply bowed his head towards the screen and spoke,
"My liege, as always, it is a great honor..." muttered the admiral modestly,
Helldawg V, Emperor of Doomingsland, had little patience for the pleasentries, "Admiral, I've called for you to keep me informed of the situation, not to praise me." he replied monotonously, his cold gaze unmoved,
"Of course, my lord. The fleet nears the Gulf of Jeevan, where we shall make first contact with our heathen adversary. As you ordered, once we have crushed them, we shall move on to commence the shelling of Harsimran City, hopefully provoking a response by what remains of their navy, drawing them away from the true threat." he said with a slight smirk.
The Emperor grunted, muttering "They'll rue the day they made their capital in so vulnerable a position,"
The Admiral continued, "Within twenty-four hours, six Marine divisions will be landing on their mainland in order to sieze a beachhead to pave the way for our Legions, who shall, of course, go about their nation pillaging, burning, and whatever it is they do. In the mean time, airborne and amphibious forces shall make an assault of Carolina Island in order to sieze it as a forward airbase."
"I understand you did the most of the planning for this operation, correct Admiral?" replied the Emperor.
"Indeed, sire."
"Then you know that failure in this shall rest soley on your shoulders. Success, however, shall also rest upon you. A victory shall bring you great rewards."
Decius knew this, of course. If he failed, he'd be put to death. He'd already decided he would die along side his men than die in shame in the hands of the Inquisition.
"Yes, my lord. I shall not fail."
"Then go now, my brother, to your destiny. God Wills It!"
"GOD WILLS IT!" came an innumerable number of shouts within the throne room, coming from all nooks and crannies of the massive throne room, consuming the Citadel with a mighty roar.
War was upon the Empire. And it was one man who held the key to victory and defeat.
The reason for the war on Space Union was complex to say the least. At one point, Doomingsland had been on somewhat good terms with the Union due to a shared alliance with Roach-Busters. With the fall of that nation, the facade had cracked. As a memeber of the Westwood Alliance, Space Union was an enemy by default. The fact that they were lead by a far left-wing government sealed the deal when World War VII broke out.
No one was really sure as to why the Emperor chose Space Union out of so many other appeasing targets to become the Empire's newest province. He had already typed up some generous terms of surrender, allowing the local government to maintain power, watched over by Imperial Governers, the local army being absored by the Imperial Army to serve as Auxilia, being sent off to serve in far off reaches of the Empire to prevent rebellion.
The odds of the Space Union government accepting such a proposal was extremely low, having a formiddable military under their command. Of course, the alternative to surrender would be made clear with the arrival of Imperial troops on their doorstep...

OOC: Sorry for the wait, but what can you say. I wanted to be fashionally late ;) Just kidding.
IC:
It was a sunny, morning day. The deck of SUS Yarsh was in full activity as sailors rushed around doing the basic operation's preperation. Admiral of the Navy Sidhu was in his headquarters. He was on his computer looking at the screen.
On the screen were satellite pictures of the Space Union Ocean and the Gulf of Jeevan. He wasn't just looking at them for their sheer beauty but the thorn in the rose. It was here that he pinpointed the coming fleet of no other than Doomingsland. For the past year, turmoil in diplomatic relation's between Doomingsland and Space Union had deterioted as both nation's sided with opposite ideology. Space Union sided with Praetonia while Doomingsland sided with Automagfreek. I had finally come to the point of war. Although war hadn't been declared, the Doomies were surely coming to start a surprise attack. It didn't work.
Top officials had sent the warning signals for the armed forces to get ready to fight Doom soon. It was today to see if they were ready. Sidhu knew they were. Although Doomingsland had a larger military in terms of population than Space Union, Space Union had a defense budget more than 2 times the size of Doomingsland. That translated in a huge advantage for Space Union.
As Sidhu got up from his chair and moved to outside his quarters, he could only think about the impending battle. From all intelligence sources, they were planning to attack through the Gulf of Jeevan and attack Harsimran City. That would be strategically smart. But Sidhu knew much better. He knew the most smartest and cunning thing to do was to secure the nearby islands. That meant Carolina and Lupus Island along with Baboon Island though it probably wouldn't be attacked. To counter this threat, he had stationed the 1st Federal Naval Armada and the 2nd Imperial Naval Armada in the Gulf of Jeevan and Carolina Island. Any attack on those two would prove quite futile. Not only that but the 3rd-4th Naval Armada's guarded the Sea of Uyla, Bay of Wolves, Lupus Island and the area in western mainland. Finally the 5th-8th Naval Armadas held the northern and eastern portion of the mainland including Baboon Island. All together and all of Space Union was incircled by it's own navy. No one could get in or out with martial law implented all over the country.
As the Admiral thought to himself he realised that it had been already 15 minutes. He quickly moved to the top deck to get a status report. As he arrived he soon saw Captain Tylor shouting out at people. As he got near, the captain turned to him:
Tylor: Welcome, Sir! What can I do for you, Admiral?
Sidhu: I would like to have a status report, captain.
Tylor: Everythings ready. We are in position. Once they come in range, we'll pick them off faster than a rabbit can run a meter.
Sidhu started laughing. Tylor was always a humurous one. That's why he picked him because he needed someone to get stress off of him.
Sidhu: Very well, Carry on.
Sidhu moved to the top of the deck. It was a strange site. Dark clouds were gathering over the sea and shading it's beauty. Even nature knew what was coming.
He wispered to himself:
Sidhu: The Doomies will regret the day they enter the soverign waters of the nation of Space Union.
OOC: Doom we might be doing some member changes. If Jagada doesn't become active within the next 2 days, I'm going to find a replacement for him. Also Willink might need replacing if he keeps on doing "godmodish" activity (Willink I already talked to you in TG). But we'll inform you and try to keep balance.

I Armada, Approaching Space Union Waters
Decius crumbled the satelite photos he'd just recieved in anger, though he did not show it. According to intel, they already knew he was coming. Tough luck on his part. Victory would be in doubt unless he could swiftly destroy the enemy armadas in the Gulf of Jeevan.
He had two combatant armadas under his immediate command, another invasion armada further back. He was outnumbered and outgunned. Of course, little did he know, the High Command had been deliverately conservative in their deployment of the navy. The majority of the navy was back home or on their way to theatre.
Defeat was a distinct possibility, meaning death was, as well. His life and those of his men depended on success.
He currently had his fleet covered by a picket of ASW VTOLs and multiple squadrons of fighters. His flagship, the DIS Legionnaire, was a command dreadnaught. He had two other super dreadnaughts in this fleet, the Julius Caesar and Emperor Maximus II, both were Guffingfordi-built Apparition-class dreadnaughts. Other than that, he had six Helldawg V-class heavy carriers, giving him an absolutely huge amount of air support for the battle. He was to engage the enemy's 1st Armada, his own II Armada engaging their 2nd Armada using the same battle plan.
He'd already dispatched a force of twenty Prowler-class attack subs, currently running off of their magneto-hydrodynamic drives, to engage the enemy at roughly the same time as the first volley of shells and missiles.
The fleet's heavy guns would be able to engage at roughly six hundred and fifty miles, quite an impressive feat accomplished through the use electro-magnetic assist to the standard electro-thermal operation, jet assisted ammunition, dynamic gas assist, successive firing systems, among other things. The fleet's arsenal of missiles was among one of the most advanced the world.
The initial strike was going to be timed meticulously.
An initial force of 800 aircraft would be launched, half of them equiped for air superiority, the other equiped with anti-shipping weaponry.
The four hundred ASM aircraft (F-78H Strike Demons) would each launch four AGM-250 Caesar anti-shipping missiles at a range of 700 miles. The missiles would cruise at mach three to within eighty miles of the enemy fleet, then shed the rocket stage, falling to the ocean. MHD drives would then kick in, propeling them towards the enemy ships nearly completely silently. Homing in on noise emmisions, the torpdedoes would begin to supercavitate once within five or so miles. By then it would be too late. As that happened, the fleet would be moving closer, firing off the initial barrage once the missiles drew near enough to the fleet. It was timed so that as the missiles began to strike enemy ships, the shells would land at roughly the same time.
The final blow would be made by the two Gaurdian-class SSBNs, each equiped with twenty-four Mars II SLBMs, although equiped with non-nuclear warheads. These would be equiped with four 10,000lb fuel air explosive MIRVs. Of course, these weren't conventional ballistic missiles:
Once launched, the boost stage would carry the missile to an altitude of 120,000 feet, beyond the range of most air defenses, yet low enough to avoid satelite defenses, cruising towards the target via scramjets. Pushing the missile to mach ten, it would quickly arrive at the target. Once within sixty miles, the warheads would detatch, gliding at extremely high velocity towards the target, the warheads detonating their massive payloads over the enemy fleet.
The effects of thermobaric weaponry on an enemy fleet was currently unknown, however.
Four such missiles would be launched along side the initial bombardment, impacting shortly after the last torpedo had gone off. This would hopefully end the battle, although the Admiral suspected Space Union had an ace up their sleeve...
A mop up operation would then be carried out by the submarines.
OOC:Fleet info-
1x Legionnaire-class Command Dreadnaught (20" guns)
2x Apparition-class Super Dreadnaughts (30" guns)
6x Helldawg V-class Heavy Carriers
24x Apostle-class Trimaran Large Cruisers (12" guns)
36x Dominance-class AA Destroyers (guns are out of range)
42x Conquest-class ASW Frigates (again, guns are out of range)
20x Assimilation-class Minesweepers (out of range)
20x Prowler-class SSNs
2x Guardian-class SSBNs
II Armada is identical to this one.
EDIT: Forgot to mention this, but the shells being used have fold-out winglets that stabalize them in mid flight along with GPS guidance, meaning that they've actualy got a pretty good chance of hitting at the ranges we're talking about.

It was evening on the deck of the SUS Yarsh. Sidhu was passing in the Control Room. Inside it was a busy site. Everyone was doing their job and running around the room to make sure everything was good. Sidhu sat in his elevated chair inside the Control Tower of the Command Dreadnaught, SUS Yarh. As he started dazing off, suddenly the voice of Captain Tylor sprung him to life:
Tylor: Sir, we are ready. We have a complete readout of the 200 mile area over, under, and between the ocean in our 3D Optical System. We can present it to you on the front screen.
Just as he finished his words, the screen begun climbing down until it was in full view. It turned on and showed a 3D model of the region of Gulf of Jeevan that surrounded the entire fleet along with 200 miles. On the map were already a few dots. No one had to ask what they were.
Tylor: Sir, telling from our presentation system, we have located that they are submarines coming from the Doomies. Also the Doomie fleet is not far back. What should we do?
Sidhu looked at the screen for a few minutes in deep thought. Tylor could even see sweat coming from his head.
Sidhu: We will go on as planned. They should reach "the point" in 1 hour. I want you to make sure that they enter in range.
Tylor: Yes, Sir! When we'll be done with them, they'll be flying back to Doomingsland faster than a hungary peregrine falcon going after prey.
Sidhu laughed at his remark. He also laughed at the insurance they had. They had the highest information technology to allow them to not be snuck upon. Luckly since they were in home waters, it was too much easier. What a shame the fleet of the mighty Doomingsland will see its final days.
As business continued, Sidhu pulled out his speaker and yelled into it:
Sidhu: Being Operation Defense Mine!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Everywhere, carriers launched aircrafts. Carriers were in full action as flight crews shot the aircrafts right off the deck. No one was staying behind as fighters swarmed into the sky. It was a magnificent sign.
Their was over 900 aircrafts. Half of them would go right to hit the ships with their full power. Each was equipped with two air-to-ship (AAShM) missiles. They would drop them right on the ship once they came within 200 miles. These then would propell themselves to Mach 3 with the use of a ramjet motor. To evade detection, they skimmed the water while only being a few feet above the water level. It would then race to the ship, but at the last minute, the front of the missile would explode letting out ten smaller explosives come out and crash right into the ship, the main part of the missile with a nanocrystalline tungsten point would follow in .5 seconds. It was quite the work. Even if they managed to destroy one it wouldn't matter, they would be hit with at least 5 parts. With a gapping hole in the side, they would let the ocean do the rest of the work. Each missile would deliver 5,000 lbs of ammunition each.
The rest of the aircrafts would be an assortment of F-79 Skygods, and F-315 Commando aircrafts. It was quite the site. They would just blow the rest of the incoming fighters. No matter what they did it would be no match for them. They were ready for the Doomies with some info from Sarzonia that considerably helped.
Everything was going on plan and the Admiral of the other fleet would be walking right into a trap with a few aces up his sleeves that would of course spell the end of the great Doomingsland fleet, hopefully, though he knew their Admiral wouldn't be any where as stupid as a couple of other Admirals that Space Union had faced in the past.

Approaching SU Fleet
It would be the Imperial Navy that got the first drop on the Space Union Navy in this particular, although the outcome was still far from certain. The swarm of fighters came within missile range and released their deadly payload, seven hundred miles away from the enemy fleet.
Upon the detection of enemy aircraft being launched, the escorts decided to stay their ground, hugging the sea, aided by friendly AWACS. They would open up as soon as the enemy got within range of their XSRAAM missiles, then closing to finish them off with their medium range MSRAAM and SSRAAM missiles.
With twelve hundred anti-shipping missiles nearing the enemy fleet, the Doomingslandian fleet commenced fire with their guns.
The air was filled with a defeaning roar as hundreds of guns opened up, filling the air with 12", 20", and 30" shells. As they cruised towards the enemy fleet, winglets opened up and the GPS guidance kicked in, positioning the shells perfectly to impact the enemy ships. These and the supercavitating torpedos would reach the enemy, hopefully causing a massive amount of casualties. Of course, the sheer number of enemy ships would make the battle next to impossible to win...
As the enemy fighters came closer to the fleet, the four-hundred strong F-78F Demon II picket prepared to loose their massive payload of twenty-four missiles each. At a range of 210 miles, thirteen XSRAAM air-to-air missiles dropped from underneath each of the aircraft, the solid fuel rocket motors igniting and propeling the missiles to mach six, using data from the AWACS aircraft to locate their targets.
As they grew nearer, their own active radar seekers, LIDAR, and infared came to life, homing in on the enemy aircraft. Once they came close enough to begin maneuvering, they slowed down, their forward swept wings moving back from their folded position, allowing for greater maneuverability (think switchblade).
3D thrust vectoring would also kick in, providing enough maneverability to make for a near assured kill, the missiles coming back for another pass in case they missed the first, then coming back if they missed the second, and continueing like this until they ran out of fuel.
The bottoms of the fighters were now bare of missiles, however, but more were loaded into internal weapon rotaries. With drag reduced, the fighters could now quickly move to within range of their medium range MSRAAM missiles to hopefully finish off any survivors.

It was even in the open ocean. Captain Joo was flying his standard F-76N Sea Liberator in the 1st Wing of the 1st Naval Armada. He had with him 19 other F-76N Sea Liberators. All of them were getting ready for the big showdown. It had been quite for the past few hours and the Doomie fleet was ahead a 700 km or so of the naval armada. The 1st Wing was standing guard at the 200 km boundary for any enemy fighters. As he though to himself, a radio message came in from Second Captain Brian:
Brian: Sir, we are getting readouts of something moving fast in the air. Its coming from the direction of the Doomies.
Joo jolted foward as he heard the message. He quickly uplinked his aircraft to the 3DOPS and quickly found out what it was. It was enemy missiles. From recording it was over 10 hundred missiles. Joo shouted into the radio:
Joo: Begin Operation Forward Sweep
As he shouted the aircrafts, shot into the sky before leveling off. As they approached the incoming missiles he could see that they were moving fast, probably over Mach 6. He had only one option, fire the interceptor missiles. As the missile got very close, the wing suddenly slammed their controllers foward sending the aircrafts darting down at Mach 3.4 at the missiles. As they got nearer, Joo locked on, he had only 5 seconds to do the job. He locked on and pressed the button, 8 interceptors missiles shot out of the aircraft at every possible missiles. The other 19 aircrafts followed suite and shot 8 missiles. A total of 160 missiles ran toward the incoming fleet. As they approached, they shed their first layer, revealing 10 tiny buster missiles flying out from the main missile along with a nanocrystalline point to destroy the missiles. It was almost guarenteed to hit the missiles as 10 tiny missiles hit the aircraft along with the main coming into finish it off if it already wasn't.
As the F-76N launched their missile they began climbing up once again in preperations for the battle.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
At the fleet, Sidhu was getting nervous, radios had come in with fighters engaging enemy missiles. 2 fighters had been already destroyed that were confirmed at least. Now it was time for the fleet to react. Bombardment by the enemy ships was getting nearer and was rocking the fleet. But it was still their chance.
Sidhu: Order all interceptors missiles to engage the incoming brigade. I want half of them fired and the rest kept on stand-by.
The captains took it and immediately began to get to work.
Outside, shells were rocking the ships. It was notorious site as a few smaller destroyers were getting pounded to death by them. But that would end, as the missile batteries locked on to their targets. In the next second, 2,000 interceptor missile identical to the ones on the F-76 except bigger and more precise (of course) shot out of the fleet. They went straight for the missiles.
That wasn't all, Sidhu then shouted:
Sidhu: Target all enemy ships now!
In a sudden burst, all the fleets 18", 20", 25" and smaller caliber guns roared to life as they spit out their rounds at the enemy fleet. Along with that missile batteries began firing another round of 2,000 AShM at the enemy fleet. As the missiles soared into the sky, they went to a maximum height of 100,000 ft before leveling off. As they neared the fleet, they suddenly stopped in midair for a second. The rocket engine then ignited again and turned the missile in less than 5 seconds into a 90 degree turn as it went crashing down on the enemy ships at a 90 degree angle almost perfectly straight.
The war had begun.
OOC: Lets start the invasion of Carolina, as this occurs. Then you can invade the island, and control it and by that time, your fleet will be in retreat so we can focus on land warfare instead of naval warfare. I never did like naval warfare. :p

OOC1: Well, I'm now a part of this RP so Doom, I hope you're prepared
The first part of this post is at the beginning of this thread before you attacked Space Union.
IC:
[Low Orbit above Space Union]
A small satellite orbited around the earth for the 2 time that day, as it passed over Space Union territory it detected something unexpected, a large SU Naval Armada and a small force.
The camera zoomed in for a closer look, it found what it was looking for, a flag, atop the largest ship, the flag was the flag of Doomingsland. This shocked military commanders across the nation, why would Doomingsland want to invade SU. While the reason remained unanswered military forces namely the 1st Naval Armada under the command of Chief of the Navy, Admiral Sutherland.
The fleet already on live fire exercises was quickly replenished, nearly 8 hours after the Doomingsland fleet was spotted the 1st Naval Armada crossed into international waters.

Offical Declaration of War
Today, the vile imperialists of the Nation of Doomingsland launched an assault upon our glorious ally, Space union. We, the cabinet, find this totally unacceptable, and a cause for deep concern. Then Nation of Freudotopia has also announced a declaration of war upon the nation of Space union, and is a just enemy within our eyes.
The Willink senate has issued a declaration of war, effective immediately, upon the nations of Doomingsland and Freudotopia. The willink senate reached this decision exactly 3 hours ago, with a vote of 181 to 19.
Victory requires the actual weapons of war and the means of transporting them to a dozen points of combat.
In order to attain superiority Willink must build planes and tanks and guns and ships to the utmost limit of our national capacity. We have the ability and capacity to produce arms not only for our own forces but also for the armies, navies, and air forces fighting on our side.
And their overwhelming superiority of armament must be outperformed to put weapons of war at the proper time into the hands of those men in the conquered nations, who stand ready to seize the first opportunity to revolt against their Doomingsland and Freudotopian aggressors, and against the traitors in their own ranks. As we get guns to the patriots in those lands, they too will fire shots heard 'round the world.'
This production of ours in the Willink must be raised far above its present levels, even though it will mean the dislocation of the lives and occupations of millions of our own people. We must raise our sights all along the production-line. Let no man say it cannot be done. It must be done- and we have undertaken to do it.
I have just sent a letter of directive to the appropriate departments and agencies of our Government, ordering that immediate steps be taken:
1. To increase our production rate of airplanes so rapidly that in this year, we shall produce 60,000 planes. This includes 35,000 fighters, bombers, and interceptors. The rate of increase will be continued, so that next year, we shall produce 95,000 planes, including 50,000 combat planes.
2.
2. To increase our production rate of tanks so rapidly that in this year, we shall produce 55,000 tanks; and to continue that increase so that next year, we shall produce 85,000 tanks.
3. To increase our production rate of anti-aircraft guns and Surface to air missile launchers so rapidly that in this year, we shall produce 20,000 of them; and to continue that increase, so that next year, we shall produce 35,000 anti-aircraft weapons
4. To increase our production rate of merchant ships so rapidly that in this year, we shall build 14,000,000 deadweight tons. And shall continue that increase so that next year, we shall build 20,000,000 tons.
5. To increase our production rate of Naval ships rapid, with the order of the following number: 15 Nuclear aircraft carriers, 10 Super-Dreadnoughts, 6 Super-Battle cruisers, 20 Helicopter carriers, 60 Cruisers, 90 destroyers, 90 Frigates, 200 Corvettes and 40 Nuclear attack subs.
These figures and similar figures for a multitude of other implements of war will give the Dommingslanders and Freudotopian’s a little idea of just what they accomplished in the attack on Space union.
Our task is hard- our task is unprecedented- and the time is short. We must strain every existing armament-producing facility to the utmost. We must convert every available plant and tool to war production. That goes all the way from the greatest plants to the smallest- from the huge automobile industry to the village machine shop.
Production for war is based on men and women- the human; hands and brains which collectively we call labor. Our workers stand ready to work long hours; to turn out more in a day's work; to keep the wheels turning and the fires burning 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. They realize well that on the speed and efficiency of their work depend the lives of their sons and their brothers on the fighting fronts.
Signed:
Justin Scarfe, president
Michael White, Defense Minister
Joseph Hawkings, Vice president
Ryan Costanza, Chief cabinet member
As three of the new Spartan class Super-battlecruisers finished shakedowns, one, the WNF-Price, along with the Super-dreadnought WNF-Victory were sent immeditly to assist Space union, traveling at a little over 30 knots, and would arrive over night.
Back in willink, unemployed persons we hired to build military weapons, and rations were put on food. Factories building lesuirely items were ordered to build tanks and planes. All civilian shipyards were overtaken by the government, which began to build naval and merchant ships. The first task would be the completion of at least 150 of the New Anthony class landing ships (http://img234.imageshack.us/img234/9720/willinklanding5pu.png), which could hold 6 helicopters, along with 40 tanks/armored vehicles rather snugly.
Willink partatroopers were the first of willink forces to arrive in SU, around 10,000 of them, to help defened the coast/frontlines.

OOC:Willink, there's no way in hell you could possibly afford to maintain so many aircraft or that many super dreadnaughts. The only reason the US could in WWII is because weapons were far simpler back then.
IC:
As the swarm of missiles streaked across the sky at high speed, the forward most group of missiles moved in to strike at Captain Joo's squadron. Thirty-six missiles. As they closed in, their wings folded back into the forward swept position, providing further maneuverability. As the missiles' CPUs detected the incoming threats and the closing of the enemy fighters, they quickly calculated a fireing solution. Because the enemy aircraft had to come so close on a near head-on vector in order to have a snowball's chance in hell of hitting the missiles, they unknowingly doomed themselves.
As the tungsten penetrators spat out towards the missiles, the missiles' own warheads detonated, each one spewing forth hundreds of high velocity flechette penetrators. Moving at extremely high velocity and in large numbers, the Union aircraft would find it nearly impossible to avoid having hundreds of holes punched in the skin of their aircraft.
However, their interceptor missiles did manage to kill roughly eighty other missiles, the ones bound for the main group of aircraft. Of course, that would have little effect overall, and the massive firey horde continued on to inflict a crushing blow...
----------------------------------------
Things weren't going quite as well for the fleet, however. Due to the sheer number of enemy vessels, the initial bombardment was absolutely devastating. Most of the ships took damage, nearly fifty being put out of action initialy. However, that wasn't the worst part.
The DIS Legionnarie, Admiral Decius' flagship, took a 25" shell right to the bridge within the first minutes of bombardment, effectively cutting off the head of the snake. Decius was killed instantly in the massive explosion along with his entire command crew.
However, the ship continued to operate, firing her 20" guns in anger at the enemy fleet in return.
The enemy's anti-shipping missiles, however, were far less effective than desired. As the large group of missiles cruised at 100,000 feet, roughly 2,500 Angelus surface-to-air missiles were launched, having a cieling of nearly 120,000 feet, utilizing scramjets for propulsion. These were launched from nearly 500 miles away, ensuring the enemy missiles would be intercepted long before they arrived over the fleet.
-------------------------------
As the Caesar missiles approached their targets, the Union interceptor missiles would arrive too little, too late. They began to shed their rocket booster stages and plunged into the sea below, begining to supercavitate. They would swarm in great numbers towards the enemy fleet, ensuring the waters would become nearly uninhabitable.
While all seemed lost for the Imperial Fleet, they would make sure that they took plenty of enemies with them, going out with a great big bang.
OOC:I'll post the Carolina assault soon.

Captain Joo steadied the aircraft as he leveled the aircraft, 36 missiles were heading for his wing. He knew what to do, he went straight into them as he went into them he saw suddenly an explosion. In the next second his aircraft was rocked by dozens upon dozens of shakes before finally his aircraft split and was consumed by an explosion.
The next second, the rest of the aircrafts in the wing had been consumed by the fire and all that was left were ashes of destruction.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shell after shell rocked the fleet. It was now getting very hard to think for Admiral Sidhu. He couldn't see if the enemy fleet had been inflicted any damage but he had heard that they had hit the commanding ship, though he wondered if the Admiral had been killed. But he soon got back on track. Already 10 destroyers along with 20 of the smaller ships had been disabled or non-fighting capable after a serious of hits from the ships. He had even lost 7 ships. He prayed that the soles of those lost would go to heavan for their sacrafice.
He quickly returned to his position. As Sidhu saw the torment of his fleet, he order another round, the unveiling of the AShM-250. They were the newest missiles in the entire Space Union Military and had been aquired shortly before the battle. They were unlike their predeccessor missiles, the AShM-240, they could fly faster, higher, and were much more stealthier. In fact they skimmed the water.
Sidhu: Fire the AShM-250 missiles at the enemy bridges. I want a full lock on. The AShM-240 must be arriving now, so we can take advantage of the current climate to our strength.
One of the captains began the sequence and entered the code to fire the missiles.
Outside, batteries began coming out of the Super Dreadnaughts, Battleships, Heavy Cruisers, and the other ships. In a blast of fury, they launched 3,000 AShM-250 missiles at the enemy. They would skim the water only being just 10 feet above. Unlike their predeccessor which flew at only Mach 6, these missiles flew at Mach 10. They would reach their target while the other missiles were doing their job.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 2,500 AShM-240's flew at Mach 6.7 as they sped down on the enemy ships at a almost perfectly straight path at a 90 degree angle. As they neared the ships, the computers suddenly picked up incoming objects, a large sworm of SAMs were coming right for them.
In the next second, 2,000 of the missiles were obliverated into pieces while the other missiles survived. They had dodged them because of the flight path and of course luck. As they whistled their way down to the enemy fleet, they had fulfilled their role even before they had touched any enemy ship, in a much bigger strategy.

Imperial IV Invasion Armada, Coast of Carolina Island
The mighty DIS Imperivm,, flagship of the 4th Armada, was ablazen with the sound of drums and trumpets as the army within her bowels was awoken so as to commence the bloody buisiness of the day. While Space Union had been distracted by 1st and 2nd Armada, an advanced computer virus had managed to infiltrate their sensor grid. This had allowed the fleet, which carried 200,000 soldiers, Marines, and Legionaries, to slip right through undetected and show up off the coast of Carolina Island without warning.
The crowded decks of the mighty Invasion Dreadnaught were busy as pilots scrambled to man their aircraft, as Legionaries marched aboard their VTOL transport craft. Within this vessel was a full legion: 5,500 men, armored vehicles, MBTs, LCACs, everything needed to support and land them. There was another such vessel, the DIS Remus.
The mighty 25" ETC guns of these vessels rotated into position, targetting the local capital of Corpious. Along with these massive guns, the several hundred guns of supporting vessels also rotated into position.
F/A-47A Brigand STOL fighters shot off of the outriggings of the dreadnaugts, twenty-two fighters per dreadnaught, with another three hundred operating off of the various Hornet-class assault ships.
All of a sudden, there was a deafening roar as all of the guns of the fleet opened up simultaniously, filling the air with a variety of 4.5", 6", 12", and 25" shells, all of them targetted indiscriminately at the city of Corpious. They intended to raze it to the ground. This was to become a common sight in this war, entire cities being leveled in mere minutes by conventional weapons.
The shells were varried, ranging from high explosive, to cluster munitions, to thermobaric, even Sarin. They wanted to kill every living thing within the city so that the landing could go on unopposed.
The F/A-47s would move to engage any local airiel units and suppress enemy air and coastal defenses, using a variety of weapons, such as Maverick II air-to-ground missiles, CBUs, fuel air bombs, bunker busters, AMHARM anti-radiation missiles, and, last but not least, their deadly D/GAU-29B tripple-barreled electro-thermal chemical rotary guns.
These aircraft, while not equiped with advanced avionics (and for good reason), were extremely rugged, featuring two sets of controls (in the event one set was shot out), an extremely heavily armored underside, extensive protection against shrapnel and small arms, and a relatively small infrared singature.
These would be flying both air superiority and close air support.
The first troops to set foot on Space Union soil would be members of the elite airmobile XIII Legion. The men of this unit were mounted on MV-68D and MV-90A VTOL transports, operating off the decks of the Imperivm, their support coming in the form of DM-41A1 Caesar MBTs, DM-38A2 Testudo II IFVs, and a variety of other vehicles that would be landed after these men had swooped in and crushed the local resistance.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1st Centurion Lucius Varenas tensely gripped his DR-31A1 assault rifle as the ramp door of his MV-68 slowly creaked shut, sealing him and the other eleven men inside. As the compartment blackened, red lights switched on, illuminating the cabin. This provided for an eirie atmosphere: the dim light reflecting off of the black visors of the men, making it seem as if they were demons. This was further enhanced as they switched on their HUDs, two red lights switching on insde of their helmet and projecting onto the visor, making it seem as if two red eyes floated in an empty helmet if one looked at one of these men.
This was merely to inspire fear in their enemies.
Legionary Titus Pullo, Varenas' assigned bodygaurd, ruined the atmosphere when he switched on a boombox he'd somehow managed to smuggle aboard. As this happened, the engines of the aircraft kicked in, shooting it off of the deck. Machine Gun's The Legionnaire began to play at full volume from the stereo.
Varenas understood this ritual all too well; the men were getting themselves into a frenzy for when the killing started. Mixed in with the loud music were syringes of liquid adrenaline, the men pumping themselves full of the milky substance through their arms.
Varenas spoke up in a harsh tone over the music and engine noise,
"Brothers, today is a good day to die. For today, we go to our destinies, to join our brothers that have fallen before us," he said solemnly, "But there is something better we can all do than die today: today is a good day to wet our swords with HEATHEN BLOOD!"
The men roared in response, the adrenaline aiding in driving the men into a great rage,
"Our enemies await us on their island. They are waiting to die, to meet their master, Satan. I say we aid them in this quest,"
As he spoke, the ramp door began to creak open, the hydrolics crooning as the door swung open, as the 25mm rotary gun was lowered from the cieling into its firing position at the door,
"Now, my brothers, we go to war!"
The gunner took his position at the door gun, already begining to take potshots at people below, indiscriminately firing on both soldiers and civilians. The sound of bullets slamming into metal could be heard throughout the cannon as Spacian soldiers took potshots at the aircraft.
The aircraft began to slow, the thrust vectoring nozzles positioning themselves downwards, the lift fans in the wings kicking in. The aircraft touched down, softly hitting the ground. The first man to exit would be Varenas, who promptly shouted,
"DEUS VOLT!!!"
God wills it!
He rushed by the gunner, leaping onto the ground. Looking around, he observed that this must have been the apacaplypse as shells and bombs impacted throughout the already war-torn city. He took cover behind a pile of rubble, watching amusedly as a skyscrapper tipped over to the side after a 25" shell slammed into its base, crashing into the building next to it as that building was impacted by more shells.
The men's NBC systems were in full throttle, filtering out the gas. When he looked back to see his men, he saw the aircraft lift off. His men had all taken up defensive positions around the LZ, which had been less than hot. He and his men were hoping for action, and action he would recieve. The map on his HUD suddenly changed, waypoints suddenly appearing as his Cohort Commander directed the movement of his unit to link up with the rest of the Century he commanded.
Standing up, he waved his men forward. This city was no longer a city: it was a desert.
OOC- Doom, lol i was just looking at what FDR ordered during 1942... I lowered it.
IC- The WNF-Victory and WNF-Price, now 30 miles off the coast of Space Union, we orded to engage the enemy with what they had, continuing toward the Space Union fleet. They let off 600 SPX-15 long range anti-ship missiles, which would skim at Mach 4.2, heading toward the Doomingsland fleet, before violently popping up to avoid RAM and CIWS fire, before beginning a pludge toward the decks of the warships. Although out of range, the Price's 24 inch and the Victory's 25 inch guns were at the ready for any signs of hostile forces within the area, as their Vastly Improved Ageis radar searched the area for any signs of anything. They began trying to communicate with the Space Union fleet, engulfed within battle.
Space Union

It was a horrible site. The once beautiful city of Corpious had been destroyed. All that was left was rubble everywhere and streams upon streams of Doomie soldiers. What a pathetic site.
Colonel Limer watched in dismay. He was commanding one of the few units on the island. For some reason the strategic command had left this island saying that the capital was more important to protect. What a loony effect. They had known about it but they were plotting something. He didn't know. Oh well, he wasn't dying for them but for Space Union.
As he looked back he saw the faces of his soldiers. Even, though, they knew they would die they had calm faces. It was a mark of the Space Union soldier. They never had expression in battle just a calm face. Scared the enemy and newer officers.
As a troop of Doomies came near him, he signaled for the assualt, suddenly, one of the soldiers, began firing his heavy machine guns at the Doomies. They went scattering. The rest of the soldiers fired an RPG into the area and around, before charging and attacking the Doomie soldiers. Unfortunently, it was a trap, Doomies appeared all over and surrounded the team. The Doomies left no mercy, in the next second, what was a team of 15 soldiers, was all but blood and 15 dead bodies on the ground, each with a bullet in his head.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sidhu watched from the Command Room from the SUS Yarsh. The naval battle had been proceeding in the favor of the Space Union Navy. It was all but over, the enemies were fighting for their lives. Their command had been destroyed and effectively the entire fleet had been destroyed. His job had been too easy. All the fleet had to do was keep up its massive shelling of the enemy fleet. He could see that the enemies were being overwhelmed by the sheer firepower of the fleet. Yet it had been too easy, he had a bad feeling. Suddenly one of his captains came rushing in. It was Captain Tylor. He ran to Sidhu and started panting before delivering his message:
Tylor: Sir! The Doomies have landed in Corpious!
Sidhu flung back in shock. He couldn't believe what he had heard. How was it possible? He thought that they had secured the waters.
Tylor: Sir, it seems that they hacked into the system, and effectively crippled it. They then entered stealthly, and attacked the city. From reports, their is no longer a city left. Not only that but most of the soldiers that were stationed there have been slaughtered by the Doomies's Legions.
Sidhu was in disarray. He just didn't understand. Something was going right and then suddenly wrong. What the heck?! He sat down before thinking about it. Suddenly a smile popped on his face:
Sidhu: It seems that the tiger has taken the bait my friend.
Tylor face distorted into a confused look. What was the Admiral talking about? Was he losing his head?
Sidhu: I think it's time we spring the little trap we have for our feriousious tiger.
Sidhu started laughing. Of course he had suspected this. He was the one that had ordered the withdrawal from the island. He knew it was too good for the Doomies to let go. And like he predicted, they had bitten more than they could handle, and they would have to be displined.
Sidhu turned sharply to his left to face Tylor:
Sidhu: Order the 3rd Naval Armada to get near the island. But do not enter the waters. We first need to take care of our business first.
Tylor left the room as he made his way to the radio room leaving Admiral Sidhu once again in solitude in his command room.

Message From Supreme Admiral Sidhu
The Price and the Victories VLS launchers opened up, fireing over 850 Tomahawk cruise missiles guide by wire and TV, to hit enemy troops and armored vehicles. At that point they commenced fireing upon the city with over 32-24 and 25 inch guns, raining massive shells upon buildings and helpless units trying to find cover. As they scanned the area, they began to pick up enemy movement at sea, and are currently attempting to locate the target.

IC:
The Willinkians couldn't have picked a poorer combination of weapons to attack with. The Tommahawk missiles, due to the fact that they were subsonic, would take a little over an hour just to reach the target area. Guiding them by wire was probably the worst thing they could have done, because it would take a wire over one thousand kilometers long to guide the missile at range. This would give the ships off the coast plenty of forewarning, allowing for them to intercept the missiles before they could reach shore.
The Imperial Fleet had a great advantage in weapons range. Because of this, the Doomingslanders opened fire on the Willinkian fleet long before the bombs began to hit, even before they came within range to launch their tommahawk missiles.
Once the Willinkians came within 1,500 miles, the fleet unleashed 50 Quinqereme anti-shipping weapons. These massive missiles would use a solid fuel rocket booster to propel them to 120,000 feet. At this altitude, it would be relatively immune to laser-type defense systems due to the moisture and cloud interference in between the missile and the ground. Shedding that stage, a scramjet would kick in, propeling the missile to mach ten. It would reach the target in a matter of minutes. Once over, the scramjet would shut down and forward and rear thrust nozzles would kick in along with air brakes, slowing it down and facing the missile straight down towards the target.
The scramjet would activate once more, and, aided by the steep decent, propel its depleted uranium penetrator downwards at speeds exceeding mach twenty. By now, even if the enemy were to disable the targetting computer, it would be too late: the missile was decending at such a high speed, it wouldn't be able to maneuver anyway, so doing that would accomplish little. Hitting it would be challenging, destroying it even more due to the fact the penetrator is made from depleted uranium. The penetrator would come crashing through the decks. This penetration would then be followed by the detonation of the 1,800lb ONC warhead located behind the penetrator.
This would effectively blow any ship out of the water.
As the enemy attempted to close within gun range, the Doomingslandian fleet opened up from 550 miles away with their own guns. Twelve 25" electro-thermal chemical guns of the Imperivm and Remus opened up, the shells being assisted electro-magnetically and by a dynamic gas assist within the gun itself, greatly increasing range, and they were jet assisted. All of this ensured they greatly outranged the enemy's guns. Along with these, 12" guns aided similarly opened up, nearly 100 of them, off of the various Apostle-class heavy cruisers that escorted the fleet. These shells were GPS and radar guided, small fold-out winglets allowing for them to adjust course in mid-flight to keep on target.
This was probably one of the worst cases of overkill in the history of warfare. Yet, for all that, the Doomingslandian Military was known for its policy of overkill, however ineffecient that policy was.
OOC:I'll post the main naval battle part later.
The Victories radar lighted up with hundreds of targets inbound, including missiles at a speed that the captian thought was impossible, so he choose to ingnore it. The Prices captian, being much smarter, prepared defenses, using unuiqe mix of spraying fuel-air gas throught pressurized jets into the air in a 800 foot wide"cylinder" surrounding the ship, and lauching timed grenades into the mist, igniting it and causing a massive explosion surrounding the ship, but not damadging it which would destroy the first several batches of missiles flying close together. missile that came overhead would be engaged by the Prices entire RAM and Metal slug systems.
The Victory did not have this system, and suffered greatly. A massive amount of missile impacted upon her, sending fires spreading all over the deck. Ship suvival systems had failed, as hallways collapsed upon each other, cutting off men and trapping them within the ship. The superstructer was severed and half collapsed into the sea, flinging men everywere. A massive fire engulfed the entire Bow of the ship, and its nuclear reactors failed and shorted. The ships main guns were burining heavily, and another large fireball obliverated the rear deck, sending burning men flying to their deaths. The ship then suffered a massive cracking, as it blew apart at the keel, lofting the stern into the air. The ship then plunged into the sea, and as sinking was hit by naval shells, further oblivorating the hulk.
Nearby the Captain of the Price watched on in horror. He immeditly ordered to beach the Price upon a small sandbar, a few hundred feet away, as naval shells plunged near the waterline and upon the decks, causing moderate damadge, but not severe enough to hamper the ships usage, and one main gun turret was put out of action. It then opened a retalitory fire with its remaining 9-24 inch guns, and sped toward the sandbar, as missiles impacted upon the hull and nearby, knocking out its navigation systems and thus loseing the ability to turn.

The Silver Sky ships steamed through the calm seas towards the Doomies' fleet(The one invading Carolina Island), they had made a mistake, they had left their rear open too attack.
Admiral Sutherland would exploit that mistake to it's fullest. He ordered is main forces of Super Dreadnaughts, Arsenal ships, and Battle ships to target the Doomie fleet and paying special attention to the fleets BBs, Carriers and the land positions on the island. The rest of the escorts would pay attention to any aircraft flying towards the fleet and any ships coming from the rear and sides.
The nearly 500 ships of the 1st Naval Armada came into range of the Doomies.
They unleashed 2,500 Pelican II anti-ship missiles(My upgrade of Sarz's Pelican ASM) at the Doomie fleet, the missles screamed from their VSL tubes, they would procceed at Mach 1.9 supercruise before accelerating to Mach 6.5 and executing a violent pop-up manauver. Each missile carried an DU penetrator and an 250kg ONC warhead.(Multiply it by 4 and you have the strength in traditionnal HE)
The 72 25" main ETC guns of the 3 Neptune-Class Super Dreadnaughts unleashed hell upon the Doomie fleet and land positions, they were joined by the 216 24" guns of the fleets various battleships. THe were joined by various guns from the other ships.
The Doomies would literally have hell rain down upon them.
The sight and sound of the fleet firing it's cannons was truely awe inspiring. All across the fleet's radio channels came a chant, "Death to the Doomies! Death to the Doomies!"

The captain of the price sent out a message to Silver sky and Space union forces. " This is captain Geroldson, the Victory has blow apart and sank, and we have taken serious damadge, and have beached the ship upon a sandbar. Requesting assistance immeditl.%^(" before a missile impacted and collapsed the communication array.

Saul Hudson looked out over the Imperial Parliament, and his gaze swept over the assembled representatives. The dim lights bathed his audience in a surreal glow, and despite the number of times the Emperor had spoken in this building, he still found it slightly eerie. So much blood had been shed here. Intrigue was the order of the day. Treachery and malice were the very watchwords of the Parliament. In many ways the Emperor hated these politicians, but he knew, like every other leader, that they had their place in his empire.
The time had come. The members of parliament were assembled, and despite the fact that so many were craven curs, they afforded Saul Hudson a great deal of respect, and absolute silence fell over the chamber as he climbed the dais.
“Good evening, Lords of Parliament. Tonight I come to you under the gravest of circumstances. Our ally, the great nation of Doomingsland, has become involved in a large-scale conflict with the nation of Space Union. The treacherous countries of Willink and the Silver Sky have thrown in their lots with Space Union, and will suffer the same fate. The government of Doomingsland has requested our support, and it will be freely given.
For years Doomingsland has been our staunch ally when we have fought the enemies of righteousness, and the time has come for honorable Freudotopians to repay their debt. We stand here tonight, on the brink of war, not for ourselves alone, but for a friend. However, this does not mean that the Empire does not stand to gain from this conflict. We will undoubtedly gain land after the conquest of our foes. The Empire will be safer and stronger for the elimination of these fools, and we will not miss an opportunity to annihilate the enemies of justice!”
The chamber erupted in applause; the Emperor paused for a moment before continuing.
“As of tonight, the entire Freudotopian Imperial Armed Forces are on full operational alert, and several task forces have been dispatched to aid Doomingsland’s forces in multiple areas. If the enemy ever seeks to attack our shores, we will make short work of them, and in the mean time, we will carry the fight to them and make their own land a crimson sea!
I understand that war is never and easy process, and it falls on every citizen of Freudotopia to support our troops both at home and abroad. Corporations are asked to donate to the war effort. Private military companies across the Imperium will work harder and faster than ever before to give our soldiers the advantage they need on the battlefield.
I am not a man given to long sermonizing, and I will end with these words from the most famous bodyguard of Immanuel de Phantasmes, the worthy warrior Mauresmus: ‘My lot in life is not to flee from the challenges of my enemies, but rather to run to meet them with a battle cry, not for glory, but for honor.’
Now is the time to give honor its due. My fellow Freudotopians, tonight marks the beginning of the end for those who would threaten our allies, and we will show the world that our friends will be avenged with the blood of Freudotopian soldiers just as any of our own men would. To war!”

The first waves of transport ships headed along the coast of Space Union. Almost 30 streched out over 2 miles, escorted by a few Le Feyette Frigates and 4 Kongo class destroyers. An board were over 26,000 troops, and over 500 tanks, along with 850 smaller vehicles. They hugged the coast, just over a 1/4 of a mile from the shore, well within range of Space Union SAM defenses.

Doom, just to let you know ahead of time so you can plan the results, my initial attack is going to be a large wolfpack of subs firing off a lot of torpedos, anti-shipping missiles, and anti-battleship/SD ordnance at your aircraft carriers, troop transports, and SD(s). I'll let you know more specific numbers when I get the stats out for my deployed forces, but I was hoping this would be a somewhat-successful surprise first strike.

President Kir Kanos sat in his luxurious leather chair at his desk in the Oval Office, having just returned from a fruitful meeting with Sarzonia's Lieutenant President Nicole Lewis. The two had met aboard the Sarzonian carrier ISS Pacitalia, and had, as Washington had been suspecting Doomingslandi aggression, discussed Doomingslandi tactics and weaponry. More importantly, the two had drawn up terms for a formal alliance between Halberdgardia and Sarzonia, which would go into effect after confirmation by the Sarzonian legislature. Another important development was that, with Lewis' help, Halberdgardia had been able to hammer out a deal with Sarzonia's Incorporated Ordnance Company to acquire limited domestic production rights to both the Z-35 "Landshark" IFV (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9608137&postcount=68) and the Z-39 "Pit Bull" CICV (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9471736&postcount=48), both of which were designed following the Sarzonian Army's debacle in the Inkanan Civil War, against Doomingslandi forces.
Looking back on the summit, Kanos was highly pleased. To celebrate, he reached into his liquor cabinet and poured himself a glass of 36-Year Glennroyal scotch, some of the best alcohol he owned. He sipped appreciatively at the drink's fine taste, and was about to relax for an easy late afternoon when the door burst open.
"Mr. President, we have a situation." Secretary of Defense Randall Schrader was wearing a grim look, and passed Kanos a piece of paper, obviously an HCIA intelligence report. The paper detailed information of the Doomingslandi attacks on Space Union. Kanos was utterly speechless for a moment. Finally, after several long moments, he reached for the scotch and downed the whole glass in one shot.
"Dammit, let's do this, Randy," Kanos said, shoving the paper back at Schrader and getting up, walking briskly out of the Oval Office.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Six hours later, a press secretary stood at the podium of the White House press room.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the Democratic Imperium of Halberdgardia."
Kanos made his familiar ascent to the podium, like so many times before.
"My fellow Halberdgardians," he said, "dark times are upon us. No doubt you have watched news of World War VII in your living rooms, witnessed the devastation and bloodshed. I come before you tonight to bring you grim news about the war.
"One of our closest allies, the Sikh Republic of Space Union, has been rewarded for their loyalty to the Praetonian cause with a siege, by the tyrannical powers of Doomingsland and Freudotopia. They, in their eternal arrogance, seek to eliminate a major Praetonia supporter from the war. As Space Union is a member of the Saharistan War Coalition, we are obliged to come to their aid. The Congress has voted, and the results are in. The Democratic Imperium of Halberdgardia hereby declares war upon the Empires of Doomingsland and Freudotopia."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The preparations had been made; tensions were high at military bases across Halberdgardia. The possibility of a Doomingslandi attack on Space Union, and threats from another nation, Torontia, had forced the military onto DEFCON 1 readiness. Now, that which the armed forces of Halberdgardia had been nervously anticipating was happening. This would be the biggest war in Halberdgardian history, and for once, the outcome was uncertain. A task force was assembled, and Halberdgardia was on the war path once again.

As the enemy shells and missiles came in towards the Armada, tremendous damage was caused. The fleet had sustained 40% casualties within the first half-hour of the battle. The Imperial Navy decided to but its losses and turn tail. The ships began to turn around, plotting a course for home, as shells exploded around them.
The ships went all ahead full, pushing their engines to their limit, speeding off at 40 or so knots to escape the battle.
The Imperial Navy had been defeated in this first battle. However, several hundred VTOLs escorted by fighters stayed behind to pluck survivors out of the water, intending not to leave anyone behind. The story at Carolina Island was totaly different.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carolina Island
The beachhead had been secured with minimal casualties: 3 dead and 12 wounded. Resistance had been mostly destroyed in the initial bombardment, and the forces that had survived had done little more than die. Forces began to unload on the shattered city, quickly putting off several armored divisions. It would be the Imperial Army that would push across the island to crush any remnants of resistance. However, it was expected the garrison would mostly surrender.
The army's HQ would be made towards the center of the island in order to make for a more defendable location.
The Doomingslandian forces had brought more than enough equipment and engineers to turn the island into a well-built fortress by the time Allied forces showed up for a counter attack. DM-285 MLRS systems would be equiped with long range anti-shipping missiles and a complete network of land and airbased radar, LIDAR, LADAR, infrared scanners, and other systems would be established without much difficulty thanks to the mobility of the systems being deployed.
The F/A-47 squadrons already began to scout for possible bases they could use. The navy wasn't expected to stay much longer.
Infantry and armor began to dig in around the beachhead already, using the sheer amount of rubble and debris to construct some tough fortifications.
It was estimated that the island would fall within a few hours, construction on new fortifications being finished within a few days. The enemy armadas were quite some ways away. This was exactly what the Doomies needed: time. By the time Space Union and allied fleets got into position for a bombardment and blockade, Imperial Forces would already be well-entrenched.
The battle for Carolina was just begining, and would go down in history as one of the most bloody battles ever fought.
-------------------------------------------
The man commanding the 1st Imperial Invasion Army was a seasoned general, Lord Gaius Marius. This man had served along side Imperator Maximus on nuemerous occasions and was one of the Emperor's favorite commanders. He was both cunning and brutal as a general and a warrior: his men had perfected the art of the massacre and excelled in armored and defensive warfare. This was the exact battle that was to be fought, which was exaclt why Marius' army had been hand chosen by the Emperor Himself to carry out this invasion.
He flew above the wartorn island below in his command VTOL, a heavily modified MV-90. He wouldn't touch down until his command bunker had been completed. Information of all sorts circulated through the spacious cabin of the aircraft, which was bustling with monitors and men operating them, a large holographic map of the island detailing unit locations in the very center. General Marius was studying it intensively, watching as three armored divisions began to move out of Corpious, pushing across the island at a rapid pace.
He heard footsteps behind him as an aid approached with news. Marius turned to the man, who snapped a smart Imperial stiff-arm salute.
"My lord, it is my unfortunate duty to report the defeat of our navies by the enemy." he said quite bluntly.
Marius merely shrugged his shoulders, unmoved, and turned back towards the display.
"Tribune Mentallus, I fear you state the obvious," replied Marius neutrally.
This response puzzled the tribune.
"I do not understand, sir."
"Don't worry, it is not your concern. All will be well, brother. In fact, I believe the enemy has unwittingly fallen into our trap."
Mentallus was even more puzzled by this.
"How is this, my lord?" he inquired.
"Very well, Tribune, I'll humor you. You see, their fool of a commander has withdrawn their armies that had defended Carolina orginally, allowing for us to stroll in and take it. Now, they were probably thinking to trap our armies here. Unfortunately for them, they are unaware of the ace up our sleeve."
He turned, grinning, "By allowing us to land here, they have unwittingly doomed countless numbers of their young men. You will understand soon enough, Mentallus. You are dismissed."
The tribune saluted, Marius returned it. He went back to watching his armies, shouting the occasional maneuvering order to the man operating the radio. His plan would become apparent, soon enough. However, it would most likely be too little too late for the Allies.

Admiral Sidhu sat in his chair as the SUS Yarsh was making communications with the Homeland Defense System. It had just been a few moments, when a Captain had informed Sidhu that the Doomingsland fleet was retreating back to their homeland.
Sidhu smirked. "What a bunch of cowards" he thought to himself. They had put up little of a fight and the fleet had sustained less than 5% casualties compared to a casualty rate of over 35% for the Doomingsland fleet, from the latest reports, though those numbers could be lower or higher.
As the communication finally came through, President Harsimran face came up on the large screen. He had a look of determination on his face. Along with him were other officers in the Union Military, most notably General of the Army Mann.
Harsimran: Yes, Admiral Sidhu. What do you have for us?
Sidhu spoke in a stern but loud voice:
Sidhu: Sir, the Doomie fleet is retreating. We believe they are heading back to their homeland. We wish to ask for premission to whether or not to go after them?
Harsimran sat in his chair, silently for a couple of moments. Everyone in the room was anxious except Mann who already knew what the entire plan was.
Harsimran: You will not go after their fleet.
Sidhu retracted in his chair. Although he didn't question the President's authority, he was still awed at the decision. They could finally end the naval fleet of the Doomies in one swift blow if they wished.
Sidhu: Pardon me, sir, but why?
Harsimran: We have more important matters to concure on. The Doomies have already invaded Carolina Island just like we predicted. They are putting up fortifications as we speak and making the island into a fortress against invasion.
Sidhu remained stern in expression, but inside he could feel doubt about any counteroffensive. If it really was a fortress than, the Doomies would have a swift advantage.
Harsimran: For that reason, they have already lost the war, my friend. General of the Army Mann, my brother, will be leading the assualt on the island. I want you to begin a blockade with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Naval Armadas. The lion is nothing without its teeth, which need food in order to stay sharp.
Sidhu knew what the President was talking about. He also knew that the Doomies had fallen headfirst in a horrible trap. He knew that in the next week would see the assualt on the Doomie-held island of Carolina.
Sidhu: Very well, sir we will position ourselves like you command. Thank You.
The line went dead as Sidhu turned back around and walked to his quarters to retire for the day.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back at the Bunker, the President and his top officials were sitting around a round table. Here were the mightest commanders to ever take up service in the Space Union military. General of the Army Mann, Naval Commander Sean, Air Marshall Commander Kevin, and Defense Secetary Lisban. All them had a stern face expression similar to the one that most officers have while in active duty. Harsimran sat at the end of the table. He had just finished the conferenc with Admiral Sidhu. Now he was facing his commanders.
Harsimran: Men, today we are charged with a great task, defeat the mighty empire of Doomingsland. It has never been done in recent history, not even by the great Sarzonia. We will have to walk a forest that has no trail.
Everyone listened in-tune with the president.
Harsimran: But they have forgotten that they are no longer in advantage. Their navy is gone, their air coverage is minimal against the power of the SUAF, their in the defensive against our military, and they have repeated history.
Everyone in the room looked surprised except Mann who began talking:
Mann: Our enemies commander, has obviously never graduated military academy. He is probably considered a god at his nation, but he wouldn't even be a Colonel in the Space Union Army. There are three steps in invading a nation:
1) The element of surprise.
2) Outnumbering the other side.
3) Knowing your enemy. This is the most important.
You see friends, if he had a brain, he would have looked into our history. He has fallen into the same trap that Marx V did so many years before. And he and his men will pay in the same way. Quite unfortunante it is. But that is his fault.
Mann sat down as everyone listened. The room descended into darkness again just like the world.

The Zealous-class superdreadnaught D.R.H. Reign, flagship of the Halberdgardian First Naval Expeditionary Force, cut through the calm waters off the mid-southern coast of Carolina Island. The surface vessels of the HFNEF had come in from the east, so as to cut off a possible retreat by the Doomingslandi fleet. However, the submarines had taken a lengthy detour, so that they eventually ended up at the western end of Carolina Island, waiting for the appointed time to strike. When the HFNEF surface vessels began to pick up Doomingslandi vessels on long-range radar, the signal was sent. The first Halberdgardian blow on the invaders was about to fall.
The Gulf of Jeevan, West of Corpious, Carolina Island, 1345 Local Time
"Fire missiles," came the order 'down the line' throughout the submarine wolfpack. Consisting of twenty Vanguard-class SSNs, all but five in the entire HFNEF, they were standing off a range off approximately 200 nautical miles from the Doomingslandi landing force. Their armament consisted of potent Praetonian "Battleaxe" LORSOMs, with a 686-kilogram HE shaped charge payload, and the enormous "Halberd" anti-battleship missile, with an equally massive 2,872kg HE fragmentation warhead. Each submarine also carried 36 HE 26-inch torpedoes, held in reserve for closer combat. With each Vanguard carrying 64 missiles in their Ballista VLS, as well as 36 26-inch HE torpedoes, the wolfpack was a force to be reckoned with.
Each sub fired four missiles, two Battleaxes and two Halberds, for a total of eighty missiles in the initial attack. Standing orders were that superdreadnaughts and command dreadnaughts, aircraft carriers, and troop transports were to be eliminated with extreme prejudice, in that order. Therefore, the eighty missiles were to be solely focused upon the single Legionnaire-class command dreadnaught, and the two Apparition-class superdreadnaughts, of the Doomingslandi fleet. After the missiles were launched, the submerged subs immediately accelerated to flank speed for a brief burst of speed, and scattered in all directions, so as to make a retaliatory strike less effective. The subs would hassle the Doomingslandi armada for a short time, then vanish into the vast depths of the ocean, ready to strike another day.
Eastern Gulf of Jeevan, 1347 Local Time
On board the Reign, Admiral Jack Forrester watched as the encrypted telemetry of the missile launched made it back to the surface fleet.
"And so it begins," he said softly to himself. He spun rapidly to face his gunnery control officer. "Weapons!"
"Yessir?"
"Get me firing solutions for the command dreadnaught and superdreadnaughts of the Doomingslandi fleet. We and the Hammer of Vengeance," Forrester said, referring to the superdreadnaught of the same class name, "along with the Allegiance HKDs, are to engage the two enemy SDs. Meanwhile, I want twenty of our Omegas to engage their heavy carriers. Five will provide additional firing support for the SD-slugfest."
By now, the officer whom Forrester had addressed had requisitioned the services of a handful of bridge officers, delegating the admiral's requests to them as he listed them off. Forrester began to tick off items.
"Air support is going to be crucial here, so I want all six Titans to be launching their aircraft. I want the F-175s up in the air first, followed by the F-76s and TSF-616s.
"I want the Wards to hang in close to the SDs and HKDs, and provide AA support, which I know the SDs will need. I want fifteen Vultures to engage in AA defense, and I want the other fifteen on missile-saturation against their ASW frigates, which should buy some time for our subs. I want the Eagles to engage their heavy cruisers; our guns are smaller, but we can make up for it with our missile load. Finally, I want the Praefeles and Jupiters on point defense, searching for an enemy sub counterattack. You got all that, son?"
The officer grinned. "Yessir, Admiral."
"Good. Now let's kick some ass, and take some names."
Across the Gulf of Jeevan, Off the Coast of Carolina Island, 1350 Local Time
The HFNEF shifted to occupy the roles dictated to them.
The SDs and HKDs plotted targeting solutions for their enemy counterparts, and unleashed a hellfire unlike any other seen in Halberdgardian military history, vomiting massive gouts of flame from their ETC cannons. With the Reign's sixteen 30-inch cannons, the Hammer of Vengeance's 25-inch cannons, the Allegiances' 25-inch naval railguns, and the Omegas' 20-inch cannons, the initial bombardment was bound to be devastating.
The Titans began launching off the brand-new F-175 Defender fighters faster than they ever launched fighters before. Soon, the sky was filled with them, and F-76 Liberators and TSF-616 Eidolons, ready to defend the fleet against attack, or go on the offensive, if such an opportunity presented itself.
The twenty Omegas not assaulting the enemy SDs let loose their fury on the enemy carriers, hoping to wipe out a significant portion of the enemy's air support before they could launch. A storm of 20-inch rounds screamed towards the unsuspecting carriers.
The Ward-class escort cruisers, designed specifically for protecting SDs, pulled in close to the HFNEF's SDs and HKDs, ready to pick off any incoming ordnance.
Fifteen of the fleet's Vulture-class arsenal ships stood by for AA and AM defense, while the other fifteen poured missile after missile at the enemy's ASW frigates, hoping to sow enough chaos among them to allow the Vanguards to escape somewhat unscathed.
The Eagle-class heavy cruisers opened up on their enemy counterparts with a hail of 8-inch rounds from their ETC cannons, as well as a number of the kinetic-kill variant of the Battleaxe LORSOMs.
The Praefele-class destroyers and Jupiter-class ASW frigates stood watch on the perimeter of the fleet, warily scanning for aircraft or submarines.
All this ordnance, in addition to the submarine-launched missiles, made for the single largest assault on any enemy force in Halberdgardian military forces.

The Freudotopian attack submarine Hudson crawled through the watery depths, silent to all but the most sensitive equipment and the most determined searchers. Not far to the north, a Halberdgardian naval force in the Gulf of Jeevan had just opened fire on Doomingslandi forces. Along with seven other Hudson-Class subs, the ship was swiftly approaching the enemy, and by the time the foe had time to react, it might well be to late to stop the brutal surprise attack.
OOC: I know, way too short for a proper post. But will it be too late for Halberdgardia's ships? I'll give him a chance to post some sort of defense/interception...

[OOC: OK, Freud, here's my ASW defense.]
It was well that Forrester had had his picket vessels on ASW duty, as the Freudotopians would have likely done significant damage with their surprise assault. However, the Praetonian-made Jupiter-class ASW frigates and Praefele-class destroyers proved to excel in their fields. Fifteen frigates and fifteen destroyers moved to counter the submarine threat, and each vessel fired off two "Spear" anti-submarine torpedoes (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9451168&postcount=41), for a total of sixty torpedoes, which would give a reasonable chance of eliminating most or all of the Freudotopian threat.

OOC:The ‘5 days later’ thing is assuming your fleet isn’t going to arrive the same day I landed on Carolina…SU, if you have a problem with me securing it without much of a fight, let me know, we never really clarified that part.
Five Days After Initial Landing
As reports began to circulate on the approach of a Halbergardian fleet, I Armada prepared to launch a preemptive strike. Nearly all of the land forces had been unloaded and the island was pretty much secure. Temporary defenses were already being replaced by more permanent bunkers and pillboxes, all very well concealed, while a formidable anti-aircraft network had been established. MLRS systems equipped with anti-shipping missiles had been placed along the coast, as well.
Artillery had been placed to allow all obvious landing points to be easily covered. Army units had been assigned to guarding the actual beaches, while Doom Legion and Marine Corps units were kept in reserve towards the center of the island and further back from the defenses, allowing for quick reinforcement of friendly positions when they came under attack.
Supplies were being hoarded in freshly dug subterranean bunkers. These would be able to last the army another month or so. A special plan had been formulated to resupply the army when they began to run low, so Space Union's plan to starve them out would soon become obsolete. All would become apparent soon enough.
All in all, Carolina Island was rapidly transforming into one of the most heavily defended strips of land on the face of the Earth. And the men guarding it were eager to spill the blood of the heathen enemy.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The fleet had moved away from the island in order to counter the movement of the Halbergardian Fleet, moving further back away from them, drawing them closer and closer to Carolina. This was simply to bring them within range of the land-based defenses and force the enemy air support to over fly the island. The Halbergardians would find that the Doomingslanders were far better prepared for a naval fight then they'd expected.
As the enemy came within 1,500 miles of the fleet, the first shots of the day were fired off. Shooting off of the dreadnaughts, cruisers, and destroyers were 500 Quinqereme anti-ship missiles. These were quite similar to the Praetonian-designed Halberd missiles, but arguably more effective. Aided by a solid fuel rocket engine, the missiles headed to an altitude of 120,000 feet. When this altitude was reached, the boosters detached, revealing a scramjet, which then pushed the missiles to a cruising speed of mach ten, making them extremely difficult to intercept. They would close the distance between the two fleets quite rapidly, and, once nearing their targets, break rapidly and turn over, facing downwards at 90 degrees, and kick in their scramjets once more. The power of the scramjets along with the steep decent would push the depleted uranium penetrators to speeds exceeding mach twenty, allowing them to slice right through the decks of the enemy dreadnaughts, detonating their 1,800lb ONC warheads below deck.
These were targeted at the enemy dreadnaughts.
Five hundred carrier based F-78H Strike Demons would be accompanied by 200 F-78F Demon IIs in yet another strike on the enemy fleet, occurring simultaneously to the Quinquereme strike. The Demon IIs would be aided by AWACS aircraft in picking up enemy aircraft well before they got within interception range, while the Strike Demons would come within 500 miles of the enemy fleet, each unleashing two Caesar anti-shipping missiles, which would supercruise towards their targets at mach 2.4, skimming the sea, and, once within 50 miles, detach from that portion and drop into the ocean, revealing the torpedo portion. Those would begin to supercavitate, rapidly closing the distance between themselves and the enemy fleet, and making the water a really bad place to be sitting.
As the enemy fleet drew nearer to the island, the land based version of the Caesar, the Corvus, would be launched off MLRS systems at what remained of the enemy fleet. Once the enemy fleet came within range of the fleet's big guns, however, the battle would climax...
The submarine wolfpack, on the other hand, would also have a tough time in this fight. As they approached the fleet and bypassed Carolina, they would run smack into a wall of active sonar buoys and anti-submarine warfare aircraft. However, if they were able to bypass these defenses undetected, they had the potential to severely cripple the fleet…

Captain Mikhael Yakov of the Hudson had anticipated some sort of hurried, last-minute defense from the Halberdgardian fleets, but he had in no way expected a sixty-torpedo fusillade. With less than a minute to come up with a strategy, he decided on the only plan that would save his ship. His orders had been to distract the main Halberdgardian force for as long as possible, a screening effort designed to give the main fleet, only a few kilometers behind, time to launch their own attack.
"Emergency dive! I want full countermeasures! Take us down to 800 meters, and then go silent. I want torpedo tubes two and four loaded, and missiles 12 through 18 ready for launch right now!"
The sub's crew sprang into action, but Yakov knew it was unlikely that his maneuver would work. The other subs in the group were performing the standard "spreading fist" tactic, each going a separate direction while deploying all countermeasures and launching a barrage of torpedos.
"Torpedo tubes flooded and outer doors opened, captain," came the shout from fire control."
"Fire at will," replied that captain, as he feverishly set and reset his stopwatch, trying to calculate times to impact and speeds of subs and torpedos.
The Hudson's two torpedos joined four from every other sub in the group, sending thirty high-impact Constantin-class torpedos speeding toward the Halberdgardian fleet. The response was not enough to do crippling damage, Yakov knew, but it might serve to divert the fleet's attention while his sub dropped from sight.
The countermeasures of the Hudson-class submarines were able to disable or divert exactly one-third of the torpedos fired, and another few were knocked out of sync because of interference, but the remaining thirty-five found their targets, and seven Freudotopian submarines detonated, killing all hands aboard. An eighth and last sub sank toward the bottom of the Carolina Sea, hiding in the confusion...
"Give me the status on the rest of the group. One ping only, please."
"Yes, captain."
A few seconds ticked by.
"Captain, there is no sign of the Phantasmo, the Barracuda, the Pursuer, the Durthmont, the Silencer, the Interceptor or the Hammerhead."
"Very well, lieutenant. Await further orders, keep listening, and prepare all remaining missile tubes."
OOC: Not the greatest post, I know, but I'll try to post the rest of my fleet elements approaching as soon as I can.

It was a nice quiet day. The air was crisp with a slight tint of meat. A man sat in the middle of the room, or what was it. All around him was an open room with the sky looking down upon the room. Anyone could tell the man had a very serious face. All you could see was that it had one expression: sterness. The man had dark, black eyes that showd power and strength. This man was none other than General of the Army Shivi Mann. He suddenly left his deep trance and looked toward that door.
Suddenly, three men entered the room. Shivi immediately got up. He knew the men like no other. They were the men that had come to him, his countries rescue in its dark times. These were the represenatives of Halberdgardia, The Silver Sky, and Willink. The General immediately went over and pulled out his hand and shook all the men's hands. "It is a great pleasure my collegues to finally meet you and discuss our "plans." Shivi sat down and offered the reps their chairs. He immediately pulled out his cigerattes and lit them up. He immediately picked up were he left off, "as we all know, the Doomies have taken the bait and attacked and quickly taken Carolina Island without a fight." A smile erupted on his face, "and for that reason they have already lost the fight!" He went right into laughter as he scared the reps, "they have made the largest blunder that their incompetent general will ever make." He went back to laughing.
As the other men looked at him in disdain, he put his hand into his velvet pocket and pulled out a white paper. It was folded neatly and he handed it to the men. They quickly unfolded it. Their eye's went wider then they could ever have thought possible. All that Shivi could do was smile and grin.

The 16th Fleet of the FIN approached the Gulf of Jeevan at flank speed, cutting through the dark water on its way to spread destruction. The two superdreadnoughts, the flagship Inexorable and the Punisher were at the center of the formation, followed by the supercarriers Defender, Liberty, and Emancipator. The five massive ships were surrounded by smaller vessels: Eighteen battleships, sixteen conventional carriers, thirty-two destroyers, fourty dedicated sub-hunters and gunboats, thirty-two cruisers, and eight attack submarines, three hundred meters below the waves. The battle group, although small for such a vicious conflict, was comprised of the best the Freudotopian Navy had to offer, including the newest and most advanced anti-missile and torpedo systems from War, Inc.
Aboard all of these heavily-armed ships, a flurry of action was occurring. Captains yelled orders, and sailors hurried to carry them out. At their current pace, the 16th would be in firing range of the Halberdgardian fleet in hours...

High above the earth satellites picked up the Freudotopian fleet at a range of nearly 500 miles from the Silver Sky Republican Navy 1st Naval Armada, their location was quickly forwarded to the fleet.
Sailors rushed to their positions as the fleet moved into positions, the 463 strong fleet was more then a match for the smaller Freudotopian fleet.
"All hands report to level three battlestations, tell the Agamemnon-class arsenal ship (http://s14.invisionfree.com/TSSTechCentral/index.php?showtopic=37) to prepare a quarter of their 'Scourge' anti-ship missiles (http://s14.invisionfree.com/TSSTechCentral/index.php?showtopic=10), target the battleships, and cruisers, get a wing of F/A-128 Reën (Rain) Multi-Role Strike Aircraft, I want them loaded with 8 'Pelican' anti-ship missiles (http://s14.invisionfree.com/TSSTechCentral/index.php?showtopic=17) each." Said Admiral Sutherland to his Communication's Officer.
The decks aboard the four Gavin Newsom-class Trimaran Hypercarriers were a flurry with activity as crews scrambled to launch all 72 F/A-128s in a timely fashion. It took a few dozen minutes, but they were all launched.
The Agamemnon ships sent their volley of 1200 'Scourge' anti-ship missiles spread evenly between the 50 targets(24 to ship) hurtling towards the Freudotopian fleet.
By now the F/A-128s were in range of the fleet. "This is Wing Commander Gracy, all planes target the battleships. The 576 Pelican missiles fell from their launch rails and ignited their engines, they screamed at top speed towards the enemy fleets, the F/A-128s quickly turned back to the fleet.

In orbit above the Gulf of Jeevan, a Freudotopian Keyhole satellite detected missile and plane launches from the Silver Sky fleet. Within one hundred seconds, the commander of the 16th fleet had been alerted that his battle group was in imminent danger. Opening a radio channel from his command deck, he calmly but quickly began issuing orders to his fleet.
The entire 16th Fleet began to scatter, using the ‘spreading-fist’ maneuver to reduce splash damage from any enemy missiles that hit. The phalanx systems of the 16th would be useless against such a volume of weaponry, and Admiral Jakob Mueller had determined that the greatest threat to the fleet was to stay huddled together in the face of so many missiles. Individual ships would have a much better chance of defending themselves. Mueller was not worried about follow up attacks from actual enemy ships, because he had received word just prior to the enemy missile launch that the 18th and 21st Fleets were only eighty miles away and making best speed toward the vulnerable 16th. However, Mueller still had not heard anything from his submarine picket line of eight vessels, and he assumed the worst.
The deck of the supercarrier Liberty came alive with activity. Sailors were running everywhere, prepping Walter-Gunther I/D-220 fighters for launch. The I/D-220s were small, exclusively defensive planes that were designed to stop enemy missiles, and were packed to the brim with plenty of electronic and conventional countermeasures, but very little offensive weaponry. They had little to their advantage but blinding speed The other two supercarriers in the 16th fleet were similarly busy, but they were launching F-24 “Screaming Eagle” fighters to respond to the threat of hostile planes.
The superdreadnaughts Inexorable and Punisher were preparing their LRMC launchers. The Long Range Missile Countermeasure system, designed by Zonex Military Industries, was a method of defense against enemies who launched huge amounts of guided missiles at once. Using electromagnetic interference as well as conventional countermeasures, the LRMC could prevent missiles from arming, knock out less sophisticated guidance systems, and divert missiles that were already armed with flare and chaff countermeasures. Also, the missiles broadcast a jamming signal designed to take advantage of the fact that a great number of missiles flying in a small space toward one target will generally interfere with each other’s guidance. The LRMC was the most complete and effective long-range countermeasures system available, and had been proven effective in destroying or diverting a significant portion of targets whenever used against large groups of missiles. The only real weakness to the LRMC was that it was only effective against large clusters of missiles and was completely useless against conventional shells, bombs, rockets, and unguided missiles. The superdreadnaughts also brought their Athena computers online, preparing for close-range missile defense. The Athena system tracked missiles within 50 kilometers and automatically launched short-range rockets at them. Athena also coordinated interception planes, increasing their ability to effectively destroy incoming missiles.
Satisfied that all defensive necessities were being taken care of, Mueller finally ordered an offensive counter-strike.
The Punisher, Inexorable, Liberty, Defender, and Emancipator, the largest and most powerful vessels in the fleet, fired off a salvo of SS-13 Viper medium-range missiles. These were equipped with the latest guidance systems and interference resistance capability. 176 missiles sped up and away from the fleet, heading north. After the launch of the conventional weaponry, the superdreadnaughts each fired three ‘Arc’ fuel-air bombs, massive incendiary devices with a high, arcing flight path from which derived their nickname, five cluster missiles that each separated into 12 warheads above the target and rained down destruction, and ten depth charge deployment missiles, meant to destroy or cripple subs.
The other one hundred fifty-four ships of the 16th began firing their own missiles, and within minutes, several volleys of SS-13s had been launched at the Silver Sky fleet. 924 missiles in six volleys sped toward the enemy, bolstering the ordnance launched from the five capital vessels.
Once the counter-strike had been launched, the ships turned southward, toward the support of the 18th and 21st fleets.. They were hundreds of meters away from each other now, and much less vulnerable. They waited in the water, and although they seemed peaceful and quiet for the moment, the men aboard them were waiting on high alert, preparing to defend their ships and their lives.

Sorry guys that I'm not being active but I'm getting piled on homework and I had a personal tragedy occur to me a couple of days ago so I have really lost the will to post or some sort. I will, though, try to get this RP moving again but I'm not going to be here all weekend as I'm going to VA Beach all weekend.

Maybe with all the stuff the smaller nations' side is having to deal with, and with Doomingsland preoccupied with other RPs and RL stuff, we should just let this rest.
I myself am planning an RP to end all RPs, in collaboration with Generic Empire. Watch out for it this weekend.
[QUOTE=Freudotopia]OOC: Well, sorry to see you go. Is anyone else on Silver Sky's side still in this?QUOTE]

[OOC: If the Hellfire events are going to be accepted into the "canon" history of NS, then I propose we write this off as a bunch of saber-rattling preluding a war that never really came to pass. If Hellfire is going to be "ignored" in the sense that its abrupt ending means that most people involved are just going to say it never happened, or retcon it at a later point, then the status of this thread is a moot point.]
