When the world was young, legends were born. When the world was new, life was created. When life was created, intelligence was inevitable. When intelligence rose, along came sentience. Humanity is the greatest of engimatic sentients to arise on this world. It can cause terrible destruction, wars that ravage across the world, evil that consume all and bring darkness. But Humanity also produces its greatest champions, its greatest heroes in times of darkness so that peace may reign, for all...but they are not alone in the eternal struggle. They are never alone... ~ The Book of Mew

Indigo Pokemon Championship - Master Battle

Thousands of cheering fans flooded the stadium as a challenger for the title of Pokemon Master duels his opponent, the current Master. They are down to two Pokemon each after a long and hard battle.

18 year old Terry Kingston has trained for the last eight years for this one battle. This one duel that defined his entire life. From the age of ten, he has gathered an impressive army of different Pokemon for this greatest time of his life.

"Charizard, GO!" Roared the current Master. The 40 year old Master threw out a red-and-white ball, releasing a large and dangerous Fire dragon, roaring in anticipation of battle.

"Get 'em Raichu!" Terry yelled. His own ball released the evolved form of the famous Pikachu, a menacing furball when its cheeks crackled with electricity.

"Flamethower!"

"Agility, then Thunderbolt!"

Charizard blew out intense flames that can melt steel at the large brown rodent but Raichu zipped out of the way, her cheeks crackling with pure lightning, then she unleashed a jagged bolt of lightning, striking the dragon with electric fury. Charizard roared in pain, the lightning striking to his very bones, then managed to shake it off and stomped the ground, an earthquake that stopped the large rat and made it lose concentration.

"Damn! Quick Attack, Raichu!"

"Get out of the way! Fly!"

Raichu streaked across the ground, leaving nothing but a brown blur as she raced to strike at Charizard before it flew away. She succeeded, slamming into Charizard before he managed to break off and strike out with his claws, leaving a red mark across her back.

"Raichu, are you all right?" Terry cried, concern evident in his voice.

"[Yes, I'm fine!]" Raichu answered, bleeding slightly from her wounds. She is about half way to fainting, but she's very tough.

"Let's finish this! Rain Dance!"

Raichu began performing a rain dance, then clouds started rolling in, starting to rain. Charizard growled as the cool rain weakened his fire powers.

"Aww man! Fire Blast, now!"

"Thunder Attack, Raichu!"

Lightning flashed in the sky, lashing up, then down upon Charizard as he blew out a massive fireball at the rat. Raichu jumped out of the way, barely, but she could feel the heat singe her fur. Charizard roared in immense pain, and fell, using his wings to crash-land and he roared one final time before collapsing into unconsciousness.

"Yes!" Terry exulted, tempered by worry for Charizard as he was recalled. "Raichu, here!"

Terry threw a Hyper Potion at her, and she caught it and drank it, feeling her vitality return to full.

The Master smirked. "Well, you're a sharp young man, but let's see how your Raichu does against...Pikachu! GO!"

(OOC: Guess who the Master is!)

"WHOA! An electric showdown between Raichu and Pikachu is now about to begin! This ought to be good!" The announcer boomed.

Bouncing off his trainer's head, the most famous Pikachu in the world landed on the arena. He's getting a bit grey on his ears and stripes, but he is still in the game for as long as both Trainer and Pokemon live. Unfortunately, he immediately got smitten by the beauty of Terry's Raichu. "[Hello, lovely! How about a date after this?]"

Raichu was unamused by the advances. "[Not on your life, old pervert! How about a Thunderbolt!]"

Pikachu was blasted by the lightning strike, but got back up. "[Oh, she's a tough one all right!]"

"Tail whip, Raichu!"

"Watch out, Pikachu! Dodge and use Iron Tail!"

"[Take THIS!]" Raichu lashed out with her tail, the lightning bolt on the end ready to strike Pikachu, but he dodged and his own tail glowed, then he smacked her a good one.

"Quick Attack!" Both trainers yelled.

The crowd of thousands saw merely blurs, punctured by fighting tooth and claw, then more blurs. Pikachu and Raichu were both very fast for their species, even faster than most Electrics, and between the dodging and striking with everything they had, it was a long duel.

Then the dust stettled, and another Iron Tail struck Raichu, then she went down.

"Aww man! Return!" Terry yelled. Now both top leaders of the League are down to one. "Let's hope you make it...Silvery!"

Out popped a handsome silver fox with nine tails. He is a rarity, one of the few Silver Ninetails in the world.

"Wow, you actually caught a Shiny Pokemon!" The Master was awed by the Ninetails for a moment, then he got to battle. "Pikachu, Thunderbolt!"

"Flamethrower, now!"

Lightning and fire struck in midair, exploding in the middle of the arena, then a Fire Spin caught Pikachu up in a fire twister, burning him. Another Thunderbolt lashed out at Silvery even so, howling in pain. Fire and lightning were traded for a while, then Silvery used Take Down, striking Pikachu hard, then finished it off.

"Flamethower, one more time!"

"Oh no! Dodge!"

But it was futile, for the flamethrower slammed right into Pikachu, and though he bravely tried to stay up, he collapsed, fainted.

Terry couldn't believe it, even though he saw it with his own eyes. "Silvery...we won..."

Silvery howled in triumph as the crowd burst into cheers, applause and whistles. Terry Kingston has won the Championship, and defeated the reigning Pokemon Master of over twenty years, making him the number one Pokemon Trainer in the world. His crowning achievement, his greatest triumph was at hand.

The former Master and the new Master walked down from their perches at either side, and as they recovered their Pokemon back to full health, they shook hands. "My young friend. You've done it at last. For twenty years, I reigned over the League, dealing with everything that life can throw at me. But now, it's time to pass the torch. Now it's time to retire and dote on my family. Here, it's yours now."

The Master gave Terry his cape, the cape that signifies Mastery admist thousands of cameras. With a smile the Master continued. "Don't worry, I have another one at home. I'll stay on as an advisor until you get on your own feet, but now, young Terry, it's time to celebrate our new champion...Pokemon Master."

"T-thank you, sir." Terry just managed to squeak out. He has a lot to do ahead of him, but now, the new Master is ready to celebrate his rise to the top spot. He pumped up a fist into the air while Silvery howled. "YEAH!"

Meanwhile, an Executive smirked. "So, we have a new Pokemon Master. Interesting. We shall do nothing for now, but when the time is right, we shall strike...and they shall prepare for trouble."

"Yes, then we shall make it double, love." A second executive grinned darkly. The two Executives laughed evilly, putting a damper on the celebrations.

OOC: This is set thirty years after the games and anime as if anyone hasn't known yet. Most of the professors have either passed away or retired, so their grandchildren has taken over the professions. So if ever I do a 'starter' RP, you won't need to wonder why even after thirty years, there's still a Professor Oak, Birch, Elm etc.

Yes, Team Rocket is still around, and due to unknown circumstances, the trio we all know and love are now on the top spot after Giovanni died. They're more ruthless and deadly now, being at the top of a criminal organization does that to anyone. Probably will introduce the other two teams later on.

Just to let you know of the circumstances surrounding my version of the Pokemon World.

OOC: I thought this was a very original, interesting piece you wrote here. It'll be fun to see how you develop your nation domestically and internationally. I'll write an IC response sometime later tonight.

OOC: Thank you. I've kinda noticed the lack of active Pokemon nations, although I do remember a few inactive ones. So, I decided to take a gamble and build one.

IC:
"Ladies and Gentlemen, the Pokemon Master of the United States (of KJH)!" A trainer-guard announced in a press room.

"Thank you, thank you all." Terry smiled a little nervously. He's had to get a crash-course in speech-making from his elders, but then he believes all new Masters share the same feelings. "I, uh, would like to thank my parents first of all for giving me the push to take the long journey to get here. I also would like to thank my best friends Stacy and Jake for keeping up with me in good times and bad..."

The two late teens smiled and Jake put two thumbs up for the cameras.

"...and especially, I would like to thank my Pokemon, for without them, I will surely have never gone up this far. Feraligator, Raichu, Silvery, Gengar, Espeon, Sceptile and each and every one of my Pokemon have done very well over the years and I am proud to have them by my side. Thank you, my friends."

At the front row, the Pokemon mentioned, his most-used set of 6, either smiled in slight embarrassment or took in the spotlight like naturals.

"And now," The young Master rose his voice with greater confidence. "As my first act as Pokemon Master, I would like to reach out into the esteemed member nations of Earth and beyond and establish diplomatic and trade relations, perhaps even an alliance or two. Therefore, I would like to ask interested nations to send a representative (no matter how old or young; this is Pokemon, after all :)) to a State Ball that will be thrown two weeks from now. Representatives who join will learn of our small but growing nation and the people and Pokemon that live in harmony together. I hope we will have many friends and allies in the world in the times to come, so that we can all learn trust and friendship from each other. Thank you, and good night."

Ignoring the shouts from reporters, Terry walked down the aisle to further consolidate his power as the greatest trainer in the nation. He would have to appoint a cabinet (usually the Elite Four plus some others) and then he will need to start truly leading the nation...in good times or bad.

ooc: Pokemon? I'm not really a fan or anything, but this is some very good RP. I wonder if Pokemon can be used for military purposes, like mounting AA guns instead of water cannons on Blastoise (note: it's a pipe dream, don't ask)

OOC: That's what I will find out in the near future. With moves like Reflect, which blocks physical attacks, I think they'll do well, but we'll see.

OOC: lol. Probably, but you'd have to aim first. And if trainer pulls out a Dragon, Rock or Steel type, you're screwed. I plan to rectify that kind of misconception.

So...is anybody sending people to the state ball?

OOC: How are you gonna trap fire types with carbon monoxide? I might agree with you with the howitzers, but what are they gonna do against earthquakes and fissures?

OOC: By it's very nature, Pokemon is PMT, due to it having advanced technology like the Poke Ball and teleporters (how do you think your Pokemon get in the boxes in the games?) I have no problem with that.

[On the CO point, without oxygen fire cannot exist. So, if you pump the area with CO the oxygen will quickly burn out, and the offending Japanese cartoon monster will suffocate. On the howitzer point, it's no good attempting to attack something that's several miles away. Unless you're a long-range artillery piece. Oh, wait...]

"Amusing."

The woman crossed her arms as she stood, her long white coat on her back. Examining the transmission, and the attached video clips of the creatures involved, she was intrigued beyond her days. The screen flashed again as the creatures were locked in some primitive duel of superiority. Her severe eyes glanced wildly on the screen that covered the wall. She lightly spoke, "Open the message, play the audio." Complying, the screen flashed and gave a text version of the invitation, as the aduio played out.

She thought for a long moment, and looked back to Artul, whom was stroking his beard as he sat at the desk, with an amused beguilment in his dark eyes as he seemed thoughtful. The woman brushed back her hair, joining in the session of thought. It wasn't until Artul began to speak, that the silence ended.

"It is an interesting proposition. The Technate could find an opportunaty for adaptation into anything. Thus, it would be wise to commit this, would you not agree?" He looked directly at Tatyana, a grin forming on his face. Tatyana kept her arms crossed, not saying anything. Until finally, his grin forced her to speak. "It is forbidden among most societies to interfere with a primitive society's culture.." She sighed. "But they seemed advanced enough. We shall have to be careful however. We do not want to Omar market to be endangered by any brash move."

Chrle Artul nodded, turning his chair to face the wall. "Who do you think should serve the role of representing the Technate?" There was a long pause. It was a ball, and Omar Emissaries would not present the best of company in such an enviroment, though their presence would be necessary. "We will send the standard trio of Emissaries, however.." She inflected on that clause. "I think we should have the Pontifexus Dexter perform her role as diplomat in this case." Chrle turned, to look at Tatyana, a bit surprised. "Do you believe that wise? She is quite unpredictable. And she is currently.. Conducting business at Fabiigri. What brings you to this decision?"

Tatyana soon had a smile creeping on her face. "It is because of her unrpedictable nature that makes Rah'Alarael the diplomat we require. She is more human than even you and I, even if it is not in her species specifications. She is, as they say, too human. And she will present the most human face the Omar Guilds can provide. Whatever business she has with the Fabii can wait. We require her assistance now." Chrle nodded in compliance, and stood up, his black robe around his ceremonial armor shifting as he looked back to Tatyana.

"Then let us do it efficiently, if we do it at all."

Official Communique from the Technate of Omar Guilds

Representing the interests of all the Guilds, the Omar Guilds have received the transmission from your nation, and has been increasingly interested in relations. We will keep this reply concise, but we will attend the State Ball that you have spoke of. While I digress from all the details of our Technate, it will be sufficiently explained by our envoy, which will contain three of the Emissary class, as well as one of our great leaders of he nation, the Pontifexus Dexter, Rah'Alarael. As a forewarning however, you would be well-advised to know that we in the Technate are a culture based on transcending human nature. Thus, what you will most likely see will not be human. We must warn you now, for the purpose of courtesy. We will provide transportation for our envoy, if you would be so kind as to provide a secutiy detail to protect our dear Pontifexus and our Emissaries. We will be watching the vital signs of each, and if should there be intentional harm to any, we will take immediate action.

OOC: Pumping an area with CO is only good when it's an enclosed space. If it's open air, even a street, you're screwed. So again, what are howitzers going to do when, say, a Sandslash is underground creating earthquakes and large cracks in the ground? Besides, a good Blizzard attack can take care of anything the troops may throw (General Russian Winter strikes again!), barring a nuke or MOAB. and the bombers and fighters can be taken care of by Pidgeots, which can fly at Mach 2 and cause hurricane-force winds with just a couple flaps of their powerful wings. Or perhaps a Zapdos, considering how vulnerable planes are to direct lightning strikes (evil grin).

See, the problem with Pokemon is that people don't realize that they're so versatile with so many attacks to choose from that even with heavy losses on the Pokemon side, they're likely to cause a phyrric victory on the modern army side. Not that I'll engage in warfare until much later.

Terry Kingston, Pokemon Master, has finally selected four members to act as his cabinet and Elite Four of the Pokemon League, the governing body of the entire region.

First, his Secretary of State:
Walter Gavin, the Multielemental Master. As his title states, none of his Pokemon are the same element, so he proves to be quite the challenge if a Trainer manages to make it to his level. If a trainer won, he or she would be truly worthy of battling Kingston himself.

Second, his Secretary of Defense and Intelligence:
Andrea Nottingham, the Ghost/Dark Master. The great-granddaughter of Agatha of the original Elite Four, she has been chosen to hold up the family tradition of scaring trainers with powerful Ghost, Dark and sometimes Poison type Pokemon.

Third, his Secretary of Commerce and Trade:
Richard Sacks, the Electric and Fire Master. A newcomer to the Elite Four, he tends to use electric and fire-types against those who wish to pass by him.

Finally, his Secretary of Interior and Education:
Prima Donna, the Water/Psychic Mistress. Not to be confused with Lorelei of the original Elite Four, she prefers Pokemon like Starmie, Golduck and Slowbro to Ice types like Dewgong. To defeat her is to truly be worthy of dueling the rest of the Elite Four, for everyone knows that Psychics are very powerful.

Master Kingston sighed, satisfied that he's gathered the Elite Four of his new administration.
