OOC- Before we all go crazy and spark WWVII. This is a small representation of a well planned out nuke production thread.

As You will not know, My country is under a revamp and i have decided to go for a tech level of about 1945+. Jet technology is in its infancy, mobile phones are a top government secret, experimental planes dot the arctic tundra at night and bunkers lie deep in the mountains and caverns of Kroblexskij. Although almost in a complete turn - super submarines are under development, we have a fully funtioning colour tv network and other modern "essentials".

The Country is in turmoil, an orwellien state to be. And somewhere on the ice flats a small weapon of massive destruction is waiting to be tested for the first time in national history...

This thread is a good example of a first time nuclear testing, NOT by a newb or noob

also as you won't know, my country has different terms for everyday objects

The Hall fell silent

The kinetograph screens buzzed and flickered on , a dim hum was all that could be heard.

A slight but quick murmering from Comrade professor Fedaydrativ explained the situation.

"This is a magnificent moment, you see the tower out there, will drop the expolsive warhead 100 feet! to the concrete where we should see the amazing event take place."

Fedaydrativ's colleage was overwhelmed by the stuff that he was explaining and had decided to just shut up and wait for the moment.

A loud klaxon interupted Fedaydrativ's monologue and instructed that All should remain silent..

###AND proceed to remove articles of a metalic nature, don white overalls and glasses... I repeat ALL remain sile...###

"yeh yeh yeh we all heard, anyway, the vast amount of energy the detonation releases is actually capable of vaporising anything within about 13 miles. Now the heat it makes is another story, and the science behind it is grade A, i mean only a couple of people in the country know this. and they aren't allowed out of these bunkers"

"MR Fedaydrativ!"
The Minister for National well-being and Secrurity was present and not happy about the complicated physics behind his new weapon. His cigar rolled in his mouth as he talked.

"Just tell me how many you can have ready and the usefulness of this."

"Yeh, we get onto it later, and you might want to remove that. There is a no smoking rule."

The Minister gave a disgusted look as if he had insulted his position and tutted.

###Drop T-MINUS 1 MINUTE###

The ministers and scientists stood patiently, all their work, research, and time under the mountains in a concrete box had come up to this point. The greatest man made destruction on their country was about to be created , and no-one but them knew about it. The tower and structure build out on the ice looked impressive, and in the setting sun, looked almost beautiful, but its power and dominance over the mens last 12 years of their life made a lasting impression

The viewing slats covered over with their protective layer. The Ice flats were empty, only the lone tower broke the horizon, a single cable ran from it, 62 miles to the Bunker in the mountainside, painted white to reflect the radiation.
Even Mr Fedaydrativ was silent. The cameras sent to record the situation turned to the soon to be epicentre and their crews took shelter in military NBC observation vehicles. The personal view of people was shadowed by the glasses, it made thier vision almost jet black but they would need it to watch the blast.

A quick brief of this hour,

The production of ball bearings has increased due to a massive outside demand.

A legal battle between the glorious government and a man saying that his boat was forced out of fishing grounds because of secret activities in the arctic circle, has ended in tragedy, as he was found hanged at his house.
The Interior ministery said there were no suspicious circumstances and the man had been identified as having a mental illness.

And It seems to be supernatural season as disasters simultainusly pestered the arctasian coast

Massive powercuts have struck cities and factories on the arctic coast, Governmental meteorologists blame electrical storms and a natural phenomena known as sunspots.

Radiation levels are said to be dangerous around the affected areas, animals have been seen with burns and unrelated sickness.

People have been told that it is due to polution level rising since the demand for oil has been increasing.

we'll have more on this later but now over to the Local news in your area

The Screen replayed the dramatic moment over and over again, the recording was pristene except for the end which flickered and was dotted with burnt pieces of film.

The bunker cheered and a few of the scientists cryied.

They had done it.

The ice was just as before except a few metres lower. the wire line stopped at about 13 miles , their predictions had been right and the 15kt warhead detonated perfectly.

The vast cloud of radiated water droplets had however been overlooked but it was seen as a minor fallback, the cleanup team was already racing towards the scene, in armoured cars with NBC scubbing equipment.

The cloud was almost entirely white, and very small in comparison to others, due to the fact of it being mostly water vapour and little actual material.

The party started afterwards in the great hall. Many scientists had a new contract now, and a major breakthrough in technology.
