(OOC: Should this be in NationStates? (the other IC forum) And yes, I know, I rant on about my OMG space project like a n00b, but I like to write boring stuff. And it increases my post count. ;) )

RK, January 4th, 2080 - In a television broadcast from the RKSOIA (Random Kingdom Spatial Observation and Inhabitation Agency) today, it has finally jumped on the same bandwagon other nations have been on for decades - it plans to launch an observational space shuttle project alongside its colonization efforts.

The first shuttle will be an optimized A1, which, as usual, will be built on demand for the first mission, RKO-S1.

Also being prepared for is the 80 Years of RK celebration and festival, which will be hosted on the 8th of October, the 2-billionth citizen celebration, which could happen anytime this decade, and the Representative Elections as the previous rep passed away last week. Acoran Smith II is the current favourite.

Soviet Spacial Research Bureau

As one of the leading space research programs in the world, the SSRB wishes perhaps discuss a joint space program between the Soviet Union and Random Kingdom. Perhaps we could come to some great compromise between our ideological beliefs so that our people may benefit from the scientific research undertaken between the SSRB and Random Kingdom space program.

Fascist Confederacy: The RKSOIA are interested in your proposal. Although data retrieved from space project missions are already available through a proprietary data-retrieval network, a joint space project could be beneficial in other ways, not to mention bridging the age-long left-right distrust.

Currently, the observational space-shuttle project has been slated to start in 2090, although the A1 required has been sent for immediate construction and funding, to allow a crew to switch with the workers on the mining colony One, and, later in time, to allow a satellite receiver and television to be sent up for a major experiment (to attempt the first ever non-terrestrial satellite television broadcast). This will also require two or more new communications satellites: a satellite able to send and receive beams in two directions, and a similar array of satellites to be placed into a weak orbit around the Earth to help relay the signal further. This, however, may occur after the first shuttle mission, as its astronomical cost could push it back.
