The Long Occupation

OOC: This is a sequal to the thread "Moses Land Civil War (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=438877&page=20&pp=15) ".

IC: Prologue

Moses Land's brutal Civil War has ended with a victory for the Government Forces. However the conflicts in the nation continue.

Moses’ Lands allies The Scandinavians and Ninhursag have occupied many cities. While they are reconstructing the cities and welcomed by the government it remains to be seen how long the impatient Moses Landers will put up with foreign powers on their shores.

Violence runs high. Moses Landers who were loyal to the government in the Civil War as well as the defeated Communist rebels have been planning campaigns to murder the citizens and military of the nation. Their ideology, leadership, strategy, members, and goals remain shrouded in mystery.

The military of Moses Land has been greatly weakened after its Civil War. Former Rebels and Federal troops are forced to fight side by side again only a month after a battle that cost both sides 100,000 men each. It remains to be seen if the military will come together to combat the new threat. General James Stewert, a brilliant but extremely inexperienced man who has been forced to take command following the deaths of his superiors, leads the military.

The political leadership of Moses Land is doubt as well. An assassin recently murdered the Prime Minister who won the Civil War James Tomis. The defense minister Thad Murphy is filling in until elections begin in six months. (Or until Murphy himself is killed by an assassin. In these uncertain times no one knows which will happen first.) Murphy's leadership is in doubt by many, including him.

The Darconian Alliance has been assisting the rebuilding efforts. The average Moses Lander can only hope what has been reconstructed will not be destroyed in another horrifying internal or external conflict...

Moses Dominion (Capitol of Moses Land)

The morning sun illuminated the once glorious city. Before the final battle in the Civil War occurred here, Moses' Dominion had been the greatest city in the nation and according to it's boasting citizens, the greatest city anywhere. No longer.

75% of the city looked like it had been picked up and tossed around by some giants then slammed down carelessly. The remaining 25% was the shopping district, which had only been mildly damaged by the war. But no one shopped there anymore. The stores were shelters and emergency hospitals and at least today, burial grounds.

The late Prime Minister James Tomis had requested in his will he be buried in this city. The will had been written before the battle; if Tomis had had time to update it he probably would have selected a better site. But he'd written Moses' Dominion, so the funeral would be in Moses Dominion.

All national delegates had been invited. All Moses Landers of any importance were in the funeral procession.

The procession reached the burial grounds, the old mall of the city. It would probably become a historic tomb soon. For now the procession was as silent as a tomb.

Finally it stopped. After a few prayers, the Priest of Moses turned to everyone assembled.

"Would any of our foreign guests like to say anything about the deceased?" She asked.

“Any nation in anarchy is a danger to the international community, and, thus, a danger to us.” Stated Cardinal Gregory.

“A danger to us, hardly, the Empire, and the Directorate, are at its strongest in years, surely, we are unstoppable.” Commented Cardinal Kerklige.

“Statements like that, cause Empires to fall, you’d do well to remember that.” Rebottled Gregory, he’d served many years on the Synod, and was much wiser than his young, inexperienced, but fiery, counterpart.

“That borders on treason.” Kerklige simply stated

“I think not, and I believe Gregory is right.” Stated Executer Viki Hessian, head of the Synod, ruling council of Transnapastain.

“I beg for pardon, then, Executer.” Said Kerklige, quickly

“Granted. I happen to believe that Gregory is correct. A nation in contest is a threat. Without a stable, conservative government, the nation may falter to any number of despots. Communists, and other leftists, prey upon these weakened and war torn nations to make their own. Any nation run by these leftist parties is a danger to our interests abroad. We must do our part to make sure no other nation suffers at the hands of these leftist regimes.” She took a drink of her water, and continued. “Aside from this, there own religious beliefs don’t seem to fair removed from ours. Therefore, I feel we are called by the Lord our God to help these battered peoples.”

She turned to Director-General Davis, the only non-church affiliated member of the Synod. “Put together an aid package, something in the sum of 20 billion credits, food and medical supplies, and have it sent by C-17 to Moses Land.”

“Executer, with respect. Food and water, and money, may not be enough to stop the corruption. Sending money may be foolish, as their administration may be full of graft and deceit, as with many other post-civil war nations, all of our supplies may fall into the hands of the enemy.” Said Director-General Davis. “I ask then, to be authorized t deploys peace keeping forces.

“Perhaps, but, I’m not sure a prolonged occupation is a good idea.” Sated Gregory.

“There are also other occupation forces in the area, we may be more harmful to the situation.” Stated Kerklige

“I disagree. We have the military power behind us that several divisions, including armor and airborne, as well as logistical support, would be easy enough to field, as well as the deployment of the 1st expeditionary fleet. It would also provide some badly needed battlefield experience for our troops.” Replied Davis

“This is true.” Replied Hessian, “If they’ll accept, the 2nd TEF (Transnapastani Expeditionary Fleet.” As well as the 3rd infantry division, 2nd armored division, and 54th airborne could be there inside of two weeks.” She considered “That should be sufficient firepower. If they accept I’ll approve their deployment, cut alert orders for them at once.”

“And if they don’t accept?” asked Davis

“Then, we’ll offer to send in a smaller deployment, mostly military and Intelligence advisors, and offer lucrative purchasing agreements on weaponry and supplies. As well as financial support, long term loans, and what not.”

“I see no problem there.” Stated Davis

“Wonderful, I’m glad you approve Director…” commented Hessian, sarcasm and scorn in her voice

“Your pardon, Executer.” He stated, genuflecting

“Granted. Now, send Moses Land our offer, and issue the recall and alert orders, also, begin to compose a list of operatives you’d like to send on the advisory staff. Also, be sure to offer our sincere condolence for their recently killed, our prayers go out to them in this dark hour."

“Right away, Executer.” stated Davis

“This meeting is adjourned” After a prayer, the Synod members filed out of the room, just as the noon-time bell tolled.

Thad Murphy hated funerals, hated wrecked cities, and had hated James Tomis so when his emergency pager went off, he was more then happy to leave the procession. He hoped no one had noticed.

Murphy read the message.

Transnapastain offers aid, peacekeeping support.

Murphy typed in to the pager Accepted. Thank them in my name. His aides back at the temporary capital Cones would write up a nice letter to Transnapastain. Tomis had always written the letters himself, but Murphy preferred to allow his aides to do it.

Murphy and his bodyguards rejoined the service. The priest asked once more "Would any of our international friends like to say anything about James Tomis before we close the coffin?"

Aaryeh (South of Moses Dominion)

The explosions that rocked the city caught few by surprise. Ever since the Civil War ended, Aaryeh had had gun battles, robberies, looting, kidnappings, and cold-blooded murders. Now explosions.

It was the airport that was damaged. No civilians used it any more; since the unrest began the military had taken control of it. So only the military was hurt by the blast.

Twelve soldiers and pilots killed, fifty injured. The attackers relished those figures. Their first major assault on the enemy, and it h ad gone splendidly.

Now the question remained: how could they top that...

Thank you for your help,

The Funeral had been abruptly ended when the news of the airport attack reached them. As most of the assembled were in the government or military, they quickly sped off to either Cones or Aaryeh.

General James Stewert headed for the latter location. He was about to find out if he could lead an army in a dangerous situation.

His armored car stopped at the cities town center. Stewert went inside to meet with the military governor, Holy Lieutenant Marrisa Joli.

"Colonel!" She greeted Stewert. Then she corrected herself "General. Good to see you."

"And you. You've been promoted as well."

"Yes sir." Joli gestured to a map of Moses Land. "We believe the rebels are coming to..."

Gunfire interrupted her. "Rebel attack on headquarters! Hold them back!" a soldier yelled.

"I'm taking command." Stewert told the governor. “Lets stop these...”

An explosion interrupted him.

When Stewert and Joli got outside everyone knew what had happened. The attacker had exploded himself, and taken more soldiers with him.

I think I miss the days of fighting army to army. Stewert thought sadly.

we thank you very much, and we're steaming up to Conrova now, and Aircraft from Van Luxemburg have took off carrying vehicles. our ETA is 2 Hours.

"Watch the ropes!" one of the servicemen shouted at the men below.
with some great ties, the Three Ships were Docked. Loading Ramps were lowered and the Marines and some vehicles, stationed on the Helicopter Carrier, got out.
"Okay," The Commander of the Marines looked around.
"We take that abandoned building" he pointed at an old Warehouse/office, which was indeed abandoned, but also completely ruined.
"we're going to restore that first, and the complete harbour facilities, so people can do their jobs again"

The A400M aircraft softly touched down on the Asphalt of a Country road, improvised as Van Luxemburgian airbase. they quickly unloaded their vehicles and took off again, to get more vehicles. a few Hundred Vehicles were already moving towards the Harbour, to aid in the rebuilding progress.

General Falkner stood on top of an abandoned hotel that was overlooking the city. Behind him stood three men. All of them were dressed in black with the rare glitter that marked their ranks. Thousands of tanks roamed the streets of Aaryeh while dozens of helicopters hovered over the city. Road crews and utilities crews moved about warily and worked under the watchful eyes of the many infantry units that are escorting the crews and other dignitaries, if any. Even under the sunniest circumstances couldn't improve the drab and depressing setting. The armies of the Darconian Alliance, despite the huge array of units, are all colored similarly, gray. On occaision, there would be a black speck amongst the sea of gray. Usually an administrator of sorts or a general. Not a single civilian could leave their home and hope to avoid the eyes of such a massive army. 10 plus million troops watching a city with 600,000. Even Falkner believed that this may be a bit much... but the morale of the army hardly wavered at even the slightest possibility that this project may take awhile or that it may become violent suddenly. The sheer number of troops made it easier to maintain 24 hour survaillance of every... single... household in the city. over ten men for every civilian, on average of 40 men to watch a single family. The idea of checkpoints and papers were never brought up. The troops seemed to be under strict orders not to menace anyone, but their stony presence on every street corner in the city made it difficult to feel not oppressed. On top of various public buildings, snipers lurked around, scanning the streets. General Falkner observed the depressing scene. "Well, at this point, all I can say about these new rebels is that... if they're operating from here, we would find out pretty quickly. Our sonar map of the underground only shows sewer and water pipes, all of which is under surveillance too." Something chirped in Falkner's pocket. The general reached in his pocket to pull out a pda-sized object and held it up and hit a green button. Falkner shuddered a bit when the screen lit up only to reveal a silouette. He saluted tensely. "General Falkner?" Regardless of the bland nature of Faede's voice, to everyone else, it felt like the icey grip of the arctics gripping one's neck. This man... general... is called the sword and shield of the Darconian Alliance... he was the Head of Intelligence of Darcon and of the Darconian Alliance. "Yes sir?" General Falkner responded as confidently as he can. The silouette cleared his throat. "General Falkner, I've been hearing reports of a potential insurgency. What is your contingency plan for such a scenario?" Falkner saluted again. "My current location is where the apparent meeting spot of the rebels is according to our on-field intel reports. With your aid, we can track down and monitor every single rebel in this country and with the presence of so many troops currently, only true fools would dare challenge our mighty militaries."
"You need only to salute once."
"Very good sir."
"... Anyway, I have a vested interest in maintaining infrastructure paid with our tax dollars. I shall assist in assuring that violence stays away from the cities. In a week, you will be provided with as much information that can be swept up by my intel operations. Not a single insurgent will be able to blink without us knowing about it by the time I'm through with them... Is there any other business?"
"Would it be possible to receive some more troops?"
"I will bring that up in discussions... is that all?"
"Yes sir."
"Ok, Faede out."
The screen shuts off and the generals present all lets out a quiet sigh of relief.
General Falkner turns around to the lower generals. "Guys... go out and tell the men to keep a sharp eye on the activities of the civilians... we're gonna aid this effort as much as we can while avoiding unneccesary sacrifices."
The generals saluted and left.

Hundreds of Alliance troops swarmed over to the town center.
Captain Jano muttered under his breath. "How'd we miss a spot...? This city is rather spread out..."
The skies filled with the beating noises of helicoptors as it started to circle the town hall.
Captain Jano arrived at the town hall with a detachment of heavy guards, ran up to some people standing outside near a blast point. He saluted hastily. "This is Captain Jano of the Darconian Alliance, we are here to move all personnel to a safe location. By order of General Falkner."
Captain Jano hoped that the people would respond positively and that the helicopters just arriving and hovering around with missile pods would, at the very least silence the insurgents for the time being.

The repair work for the once great city had begun. Van Luxemburg was putting up new buildings and clearing away the debris of the old. For most Conrovans this was a cause for celibration. Not for Emil Vago.

Vago met with his commander that night to discuss the situation facing the rebellion. The rebellion depended on Moses Lander's misery. But the nation was being repaired. And the many foreign forces couldn't be easily assulted; in Aaryeh alone Darcon had ten troops for every citizen...

Then the new plan was made. Vago knew it wasn't fool proof or easy...

To: The Government of Moses Land, Interim PM Thad Murphy

Prime Minister, the Commonwealth of Hirgizstan's Foreign Affairs Department has taken an interest in your nations situation due to certain influences regarded highly in COH Foreign Affairs, directly linked to the humanitarian aid of the Treasury Department within the Ottoman Alliance, to which the COH is a signatory.

With regard, your case is of interest because the Ottoman Alliance, at this time, wishes to 'stretch out a hand', and to help nations like yourselves, who have seen and continue to see the ravages of war, especially when that war is against a sovereign Government, such as yours.

Our Department will rightly pass on any and all information regarding your case to the Ottoman Alliance's Treasury Department, for consideration by the Minister of the Treasury, Ottoman Khaif.

You may receive an aid package from the Alliance and this Department, based on the current situation of your nation, will recommend a sum above $50 Billion (USD). This aid will hopefully ease the pressure on the Government Forces and Allied Forces trying to keep the peace.

Hirgizstan had donated $50 Billion to the relief efforts. After dictating a thank you, Murphy had his aides write orders for the money to be spent on basic needs in the cities. Food rationing, lack of doctors, and lack of law might soon become a thing of the past for the war torn nation.

And yet it was all our allies doing this. I just dictated thank-yous Murphy sadly thought. If there was one thing he'd always hate, it was a feeling of uselessness.

He entered the Royal Mansion. Years ago it had been the King's palace, but Aaron III had agreed to hold a referendum to abolish the monarchy. It had passed and the prime ministers lived here now. (Although they usually worked in Moses Dominion) The former king lived abroad.

As defense minister Murphy had visited a number of times. He had never imagined living here. He hadn't even imagined Moses Landers would kill other Moses Landers in cold blood. Even in the Civil War that kind of thing never happened...

Murphy looked over some reports. The rebellion seemed to be losing its force. Maybe by the time the elections hit things would be back to normal.

Murphy had dinner, and then felt sleepy. That was odd; he usually worked for six more hours. He decided to take a rest.

He never woke up.

We, the Darconian Alliance, mourn the loss of another leader. However, with lax security occuring around the very leadership of the Moses Lands and the seemingly central location of the insurgency in the city of Aaryeh, we request that we have direct military jurisdiction over the city of Aaryeh until the very livelihoods of the citizens in this city is restored. Moreover, in light of the increasing instability in this country, the High Council of the Darconian Alliance has been persuaded to airlift another 4 million troops directly to the city of Aaryeh. The streets and the skies will fill with the sounds of the troops of the Darconian Alliance. Alliance intelligence agencies have commenced Operation Lurking Shadow. Hidden in the shadows, this lightning operation will catalog and detail every single civilian in the city within a week.

Rest be assured, we have 20 million troops in this country, with an active duty roster totalling 440 million. We can be quite generous in our helpings... If need be, we can match the population of all of Moses Lands and still effectively defend our own borders.

We, the Darconian Alliance, is ready to expend massive force to accomplish our mission. To revert all civilian lives to that of what they are accustomed to. Aaryeh shall become the shining beacon of what could be when people put down their arms and we have all the manpower, all the money, and all the time in the world to carry it out. Under the cover of the night, thousands of troops moved silently installing cameras to monitor every... single... street, alley, avenue, boulevard, etc. that existed, or used to exist in the city. Making sure to camoflauge them so that they are not visible. License plate numbers and vehicle descriptions were meticulously cataloged. Public records were accessed and names and descriptions of everyone present in the city were recorded onto another database. At one house, somewhere in the suburbs of Aaryeh, a laser designator landed on a house, several armed personnel quietly surrounded the house. After about 30 minutes, a few tanks rolled in and an APC arrived retrofitted with a ram. 10 men entered the APC and the APC rolled up to the door.
"Ok men, quietly and quickly, there is a ton of explosives in there. Ken, Faran, Lenny, Roger, Olan, secure the household and the terrorist. The rest of us will secure the explosives."
As soon as the laser designator turned off, the APC rammed through the front door and in and the squad hidden inside rushed out. After a few tense seconds that seemed to never end, several gunfire pops were heard, a radio crackled alive. "Man down, man down, the explosives has been secured, the target is barricaded in zone A-2, be advised, we are using flashbangs."
A loud boom is heard from the house and a window lit up for a split second. Two men ran up the doorway as the APC pulled out and escorted the emerging troops that were dragging out a very dazed man. Moments later, 15 men lined up into the building and started to move the explosives out of the house and into the APC. The family of the man that was carried off were escorted into an armored jeep and then everyone melted away as if nothing happened. This scene repeated itself in three other places as Reotronian troops unleashed bomb sniffing nanobots into various suburbs.

General Falkner's image flickered on TV screens on the morning news throughout the city. "Day one of Operation Lurking Shadow is a resounding success, we have arrested 4 people for holding illegal explosives and illegal stockpile of weapons. They will be tried under Darconian Alliance common laws in conjunction with prevailing Moses Lands laws as long as it does not conflict with Darconian Alliance common laws. The suburbs of Aaryeh has been cleared of all insurgents that are attempting to block our rebuilding projects. As of now, electricity has been restored to the entire city and 75% of the city now has clean, running water once more. We thank the people of Aaryeh that are cooperating by not initiating hostilities against our troops. This city shall grow from its ashes to become this nation's greatest city once more. Thank you and have a good day."

Outside Aaryeh

The rebels were fleeing. They were of course being discreet; only three at a time left. But they had lost Aaryeh.

Heading north, they reached Moses Dominion. Under the ruins of the cities government district laid a compound. Inside were rebel cell representatives and The Commander.

"Report." The Commander ordered.

"Sir, we had to flee Aaryeh! The Draconians found our weapons hideouts!"

"A setback." The Commander said calmly. "Head to Abots. Unleash Operation Winter."

"Sir! That would-"

"I know what it would do Major Lans." The Commander told him. "But it is the only way. Operation Winter will be executed. Or are you not willing to give your life for the cause?"

"I am sir. I'll do it."

Abots

The large rebel army entered the town.

The Moses Lander troops were unable to hold them back. The rebels had caught them by surprise and had much better leadership.

The Moses Landers were pushed to the city square. They were surrounded.

Finally one spoke.

"I am Major Dwight Lans of the Army of the Kings. Surrender this city, evacuate all foreigners, and disband the government or we will slaughter every one in Abbots."

King Adrian sipped his lemonade as he was reading the morning reports. It was a beautiful day in Dracun. The sun was somewhat hot but a gentle breeze relaxed any feelings of being uncomfortable. Then everything went to hell when he read the report on Moses Land. Everything was wrong, over twenty million troopers in one city? Occupying forces would arrest others if they entered their "zones." What kind of occupation was this?

Adrian quickly ordered his chief advisors into his room. They discussed what to do quickly and a solution was reached within minutes and thanks be to God because they could've argued for hours. This time however it was an obvious situation.

Diplomacy was the first option and although many did not realize was sometimes the only option. War only created more killing and diplomacy could help ease any suffering and sometimes end it all together. That was one of the main principles of Eternus Lumen.

While the army was mobilized in the unlikely event that something went terribly wrong, Adrian prepared himself a speech. It was an important day for Eternus Lumen and out of the several years of being out of Isolation this was their first big mission.

After an hour or so of writing as he quickly ordered an emergency broadcast which was of course obeyed and within another half hour he was in his office getting ready to go on television.

The camera operator signaled and Adrian began,

People of the world I bring you news that greatly disturbs me and the populace of Eternus Lumen. It concerns Moses Land and the occupation forces there. In reports from my aides it seems that there is a serious overkill of forces there that don't even co-operate.

This greatly troubles us because it may lead to another civil-war something no one wants. We ask that Moses Land sees reason and demands and decrease in the number of forces there, for we have seen it before the more the forces... the more the killing.

A foreign presence sometimes causes emotions that aren't normally there. It often inspires nationalism to kick the foreign powers out any cost which may be a reason behind your current rebellion. This message also goes out to the rebellion, not jus the government.

We offer a peace conference between you and the government of Moses Land and only between you two. We will act only as observers and if wanted advisors to the two parties. We only want is best for your great nation and hope that is what is in both group’s heart.

Thank you and God bless.

Adrian sighed and could only hope reason would be found and diplomacy would be the answer to everyone's problems.

":sniper: ...I believe you have been properly briefed on the situation then?"

"Sir, yes, Sir!" Responded the six people around the table. "Excellent. Ladies Gentlemen, may the Earth-mother go with you." Archbishop Cassious Rosenburn dismissed the 6 most powerful soliders he had ever meet, and his business has been soliders for almost 45 years, now. As the Paladins left they began to converse with each other.
"Do you honestly think we can protect Janis Mirium?"
"If 150 of us can level a city, I think the six of us can protect her from a would be assassin."
"My children!" Archbishop Franz Von Carstein approached them with open arms. What does this twisted wretch, want? The Paladins thought in unison. "I have a favor to ask of you. When you reach Moses Land, please upload this program into a satelite and run it into their radio waves."
"Sure, no problem, but why, Sir?"
"There are a few loose ends that need to be...cut off. Good day to you all, and may the Earthmother bless you trip."
"What the f*ck is up with him..."

Moses Dominian

"Well before we report to Janis Mirium lets take care of Carstein's request." The teche of the group, Lewis Feur, uploaded the program, accessed one of Ninhursags several satellites over Moses Land, and ran the program. I wonder what this does He continues to type for a moment, reading the program...OH my Earth-Mother!

The "gifts" sent to Moses Land much earlier in the war are not longer, well useful. They have been deactivated. All that flashes across the screen is

The Alliance Military Government in Aaryeh commenced tightening their hold on the populace. Searches for substantial stockpiles of weapons and dangerous explosives have been proving less than fruitful. General Falkner received a message from General Faede. [Logic dictates that when an area become more and more secure, insurgents would move to different locations. Try to track them down.]

The prisoners found themselves within view of each other, but there was a soundproof glass wall keeping each other from communicating with each other. After 3 hours of dead, uncomfortable silence, a person walked in, dressed in what seemed like an officer uniform. Black suit with occaisional glitter for medals and ranking. This officer hasn't seen much action or the military is so huge that there wasn't very many chances for him to prove himself, either way, the prisoners noticed an absence of any of the usual or even unsual torture devices present on the officer or even on the respective tables in front of them. The officer put on a lapel mic and started the circle outside this odd, glass cage. "Gentlemen, each and every one of you have been caught with illegal explosives and illegal weaponry. As of yesterday, this area has come under Darconian Military jurisdiction. Therefore, the penalty of such violations carry harsh, harsh penalties. The penalty for either violations is death. The military tribunal is willing to allow a time for interrogation or a plea bargain. So... what say you all?" The officer sat on a chair outside the glass chamber, rested his elbow on the table, and looked at the prisoners. "By the way, we can hear you, but you can't hear each other, or even me, if we don't allow you to do so."

The 100,000 troop garrison in the outskirts Abots was given a rather rude awakening when reports of rebel troops arrived to their base. Colonel Walker quickly rushed to the communication room to whip out a message to General Falkner to alert him of a large rebel presence in the city. In the meantime, 50 military tanks were put on standby as they awaited a report on the size of the enemy troops.

Suburbs Of Moses Dominion

Ethan gulped down the last remains of his draft and set it gently on the bar counter. A cute little bartender moved quickly on the cup and glanced up at Ethan through some rogue strands of hair. He nodded and smiled at her, leaving a very handsome tip. He had been in the bar just under an hour, watching the TV set up in the back corner of the dank room. He watched as troops stormed houses under the cover of darkness emerging with battered and dazed victims. A new picture flashed across the screen, this time computerized. It displayed the different occupations that now engulfed Moses Land. To him this whole mess was a small horribly gone wrong joke. The civil war had doing nothing but put Moses Land in the hands of foreign nations.

He took a step outside and winced at the sunlight that tortured his eyes. The bar had been so dark he had forgotten how bright the day was. He smoothly slid on his Oakley’s and continued down the steps towards the street. Ethan was a tall well built kid, only 24. He hadn’t shaved for a few days and a nice scruff had developed on his very young looking face. He has short dirty blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. Although physically fit he was not intimidating at all. One couldn’t tell he was military let alone not from around here. Besides he had all the right papers.

He walked down the street with not hurry at all. Instead he took the time to think which filled most of his long uneventful days. He came across and intersection and looked up. He saw children running and playing in their yards, mothers gardened, and fathers worked on the cars. This place was just minutes from the war torn city, yet not a single person had seen a soldier, except for the television. The sky was cloudless and the sun took full advantage. He turned the corner and their across the horizon was the outline of Moses Dominion in all its chaos. Smoke lingered over what towers remained; there was a steady stream of military convoys moving along the roads in and out of the city. It was a most surreal sight to see. He thought, ‘Occupation never works…this isn’t going to end well.’ He finely arrived at his destination, his car. He looked at his watch: 7:40. He climbed into his car and buckled up. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small disk which he handled with the utmost care. Reaching for his shoe, he slid the disk into a hidden compartment located with the heel of his shoe. He than began to drive into the city, easing his way through various check points.

He pulled up to a small undamaged hotel located near the southern most part of the city. Next to him was a news van, his job; at least for now. He took in a huge sigh and strolled into the building doing his best to avoid the homeless and beggars. A small brown haired woman was quickly beside him with a guilty look on her face, it was his co-worker. He rolled his eyes and asked; “Something on your mind Ms.” She stopped and faced him eye to eye.
“Someone from back home called, they wanted me to give you a message.” She continued, “They said Lakota is dead” He sat there in silence looking at her. “I’m so sorry for your loss. That’s terrible news.”
He turned away retreating for his room. Under his breathe he muttered, “You have no idea.”

Abots

Stewert arrived outside the city in his tank. He felt nothing but despair. Innocents would die. No matter how many rebels they killed, there’d be innocent deaths.

What’s more, Moses Lands 'gifts' had strangely stopped working. They needed those! Everything depended on them...

We'll have to make our own. Or win this the old fashioned way.

Rebel army! Stewert typed. We wish to declare a cease-fire .He transmitted his message to the courier who delivered it. Stewert knew what he was doing was useless, but he was under orders.

We are the Kings Army! You will address us as such! the rebel leader wrote back.

King's Army! I request we both lay down our arms! The neutral nation of Eternus Lumen has offered to help us reach an agreement!

The rebel leader wrote back. No negotiations while we have the upper hand. You will either abide by our demands or pay the price.

Our allies are destroying you. Let us negotiate so you are not destroyed yourselves. Tell us why you are fighting. Stewert knew by this point he was only humoring his enemy, but orders were orders.

We fight to save the nation. We will save it from your government, from the Communists, and from the foreigners. If your notice of surrender does not come within ten minutes, blood will spill.

Stewert was partially relieved the negotiations were over. He had hated negotiating during the Civil War, and he hated it now. He was a man of action, and action was going to get them out of this situation, not words.

Maybe if we beat them here they'll seek peace. I would like to go to Eternus Lumen... maybe when the negotiations there are over...

Stewert snapped back into reality. He typed his orders.

The attack began.

Colonel Walker heard gunfire going off in the city of Abots. He leapt to his feet in the communication room and broadcasted a general hail in the direction of the city. Adrian waited and waited for a response from Moses Land and he got one, though indirect. An aide walked into his office and announced that an attack on the rebels had begun. Distressed that diplomacy had not been tried first then he realized something maybe it had. The rebels would not lay down arms unless at least one step towards occupational withdrawal began it would be the beginning of a domino effect... or at least that's what Adrian thought.

He quickly drafted different messages for different parties. Beckoning forward and aide he ordered to be sent to the parties involved, it was time for Eternus Lumen to begin shoving its way into the world as a diplomatic power even if it meant having to use "diplomatic force."

Message to all members of the Occupation forces
I come to you as the beacon of peace. Surely your fine nations have realized that the rebels are striking for a number of reasons but one of them is obvious, occupation. It's not that you're just occupying them it is that you are using excessive force where it is not nessecary. We have heard reports that trooper numbers are over Twenty Million men. How you managed to get so many troops over there is a mystery that and the cost must be destroying your economy.

We ask kindly that you follow one of the options for peace to be reached,
-Withdraw all if any are left let them only be advisors so that the Government's army may be trained.
-Significantly tone down the numbers of troops, no more then a hundred thousand troops would be nessecary.
-Open talks with the rebels, see why they are fighting for.
-Do not provoke more attacks onto the innocent lives at stake.

We hope you follow suit if not, peace in Moses Land may never be reached.

Signed,
King Adrian the I

Message to Moses Land
Hello and greetings again leader of the people of the Moses land. We must get to the point quickly if only for the sake of time and your people. You must take a stand for your people! Begin to order that all foreign troops out of your country or things may get worse which is something no one wants.

Surely you realize unless foreign troops begin to move out, the rebels will not listen to your ideas or proposals. We will gladly provide a small detachment numbering no more then three thousand man and maybe a naval ship to help keep the peace and be neutral in your country which is something it may desperately need.

We hope you listen to our pleas, thank you.

Signed,
King Adrian the I

[Secret IC]
Message to the Rebels
Hello and greetings but I'm afraid neither of us have time for formalities. We would like to ask a question. What would you do if the foreign presence is removed and a small neutral party is sent to help restore order and peace within your beloved nation in which you are fighting for?

Surely you realize you are killing your own people in the name of freedom, though most of your causes are just they are creating only more destruction and killing. We here at Eternus Lumen hope that is not the reason of the rebellion.

We hope you take the time to respond with an answer thank you.
Signed,
King Adrian the I

Standby for a message from the Leader of the Darconian Alliance---
Do not tell us what our collective economy should look like. As for troop movement, it was a massive 4 nation air and sea lift operation using primarily a steady stream of transport ships and airplanes. As for our forces, we feel it is more the better to ensure the safety of our repair crews and the safety of innocent lives, whether it be protection of utilities or dissuading further violence by promising swift and effective response. It is one thing to get into a gunfight out in the street... it's another to get into a gunfight out in the street while knowing that support is coming in from all direction simply from the sound of gunfire. With sheer numbers, we can insure the safety of our troops AND the safety of civilians. Aaryeh will be one of such shining examples where this city will be gem in the country of Moses Lands.

Our troops are making our nation proud. Crews are rebuilding roads, restoring power and water, rebuilding buildings to code, and airlifting all sorts of goods to raise the livelihoods of the people to match that of their pre-conflict days. We, the Darconian Alliance, will collectively prove our generosity. Those seeking to undo our efforts are seeking to harm the civilians we are now bound to protect.

All hail... All Hail the Mighty Darconian Alliance!
*The leader salutes in the direction of the camera and the pans outward as thousands upon thousands of troops are lined up before him and fighter jets take off above him*

We cannot see any logic for Van Luxemburg in this proposal. we're in conrova with about 300 men, and many Construction vehicles, and only afew Fighting vehicles. we try to aid the Governemnt and the population, and not to terrorise them. we will never kill any Civilian who has not opened fire at any of our forces, and we hope they will not do so, otherwise we will be forced to cancel our approach to the people of Conrova.

Adrian now sat in his barely used War Room in fact it hadn't been used for years but here he was and no one liked it. General Valkan was there as well as his diplomatic chief, Madaline Timbervan. The two were swarmed with aides giving constant reports but then the Darcon message was replayed several times for the ears of the three.

General Valkan spoke first, "It is obvious that they will not listen to diplomacy, maybe not even the words of Moses Land what are you're orders m'lord?" The two chief advisors looked toward their leader for an answer to a possible deadly solution.

"Compose a message... tell them we asked them kindly now it up to Moses Land to decide their own fate. Also be sure to ask them what they would do if Moses Land asked for their withdrawal, we will now see what they're intentions are." He said.

General Valkan nodded but a look of worry crossed his face, "Sir and if they refuse?" Adrian turned to him, "Then we have no other choice we-" He was interrupted by another message this time from Van Luxemburg.

It went through the same procedure but different scrutiny. They seemed to be among the few actually doing good in the country and they should be aloud to stay if the rebels and the government would allow it.

Finally the message was composed for Darcon and sent off quickly it read,

Attention nation of Darcon
You say it would not kill your economy don't make us laugh, twenty million soldiers? Not to mention the support crews, medics and the likes that must come with them. That's a good extra ten million at least; as I said before don't make us laugh. How you fit all those in one city is beyond me. (OOC: I just did a quick estimate nothing is definite)

Now onto more serious matters, you say that you are doing good for that city? Shouldn't you being doing good for the whole nation? The point of a good occupation is to help rebuild the [b]nation[/] not a city. Maybe if you all co-operated there would not be a chance of another civil war. Take those points into consideration if you get nothing more from this letter.

Now you say why withdraw? Well I have another question for you well two.
Number one: What would you do if Moses Land demanded you're withdrawal?
Number Two: Why not withdraw if for the better of the people?

Somwhere inside Rebel Territory

Jerry sat, his off-white suit jacket gently flapping in the cool morning breeze. His slowly sipped the coffee which was steaming against the cool mountain air. The man across from him was silent starring into space as if deep in thought. The man than glanced down again looking at the I.D and other various paper works, letting out a long deep sigh. He than took a long sip of coffee and slid the papers back to Jerry. “It is an Honor to meet you sir. The general…err…your brother will be delighted! I’m very sorry for the shakedown; you must understand these are turbulent times. The Alliance has been on are ass for weeks now. Uh sorry for that sir, like I said…hectic times.” It was the first time he had let down his diplomatic guard and Jerry had a laugh at his expense.

He replied, “Heh yes I understand, it has been a long time. I’m just glad I made it back in one piece.” He looked back at the man across from his who was hanging on every word. He continued, “Do you know when ill be able to meet with him, my brother that is?”

The man answered, “Oh yes, so sorry, this afternoon in the mansion. He has a very elegant lunch set up for the two of you. I’m sure there would be much to talk about.” The man was obviously very excited and greatly looked up to Jerry.

Rebel Mansion

There were no guards, no media, no welcome home party, it was completely discreet. They were in the main hallway; a great chandelier dominating the room. “Looks a lot different don’t it,” Nat implied. Nat was Jerry’s older brother, who also happened to be one of the head government leaders of the rebellion.

“Anything looks different next to a prison cell,” Jerry replied.

“Yes, I would imagine so.” They moved now, aides following just feet behind them. In front of them two big doors opened up leading to a fancy dining room from which the aroma of food hit them both. They sat down, Nat motioning to the aides whom quickly scampered off. “You look so different since I last seen you Jerr.”

“Prison life will do that to you. How are things holding up here?”

“No idea, I can’t keep up with it anymore. We have no true leadership, no hero. I think were fighting a lost cause. Enough of that, what happened? Last time we met was years ago before you left for Ninhursag as a military liaison officer.”

“Not much to tell. I tried coming back to Moses Land during the war but was captured by the rebels and put in prison. It wasn’t that bad, they were humane at least. I rounded up a few fellows and busted out but was picked up by Scand’s and sent to an interment camp there. I was just able to bust out a few weeks ago and here I am.”

“Amazing, were you hurt, did they hurt you!?”

“Relax brother, no, I wasn’t hurt… that bad. Look I’ve gotten around these last few years. I have seen things I wouldn’t dare repeat. I want to help.” Nat looked him up and down, studying him with every move. There was something not right about Jerry. Still he couldn’t put his finger on it. The doors opened and in came an aide. He whispered in his ear for a second and was gone just as quickly.

“Sorry brother you must excuse me there is a most urgent call. You wouldn’t mind would you?” He paused for a moment. “It…it’s from the government of Moses Land.” Jerry smiled pointed toward the door.

“Go! I am sure it is most important.”

Number one: What would you do if Moses Land demanded you're withdrawal?

We know not what you are prattling about, our troops are mostly sitting in the outskirts of the city while parts of them are rolling through the city. Moreover, we feel that rebuilding one city and making it safe, secure, and happy would eliminate the need to send massive numbers of troops again should something go wrong. Our plan is to slowly move from one city to another to rebuild infrastructure and restrengthen Moses Landan central government control over these lands. As we speak, Darconian forces has been gradually pulling out of Aaryena and making their way towards Aaronville and Abots in groups of 10,000. Aaryena has been secured, a token force of 250,000 will remain to protect rebuilding operations there. As for our economy, we have been careful to maintain a large warchest and foreign aid reserve for times like these. Moreover, should Moses Lands request for our withdrawal, then we shall, we are only here to extend the reach of a government whose concern is the well being of their own people. Should the government feel we are either detrimental or no longer needed for their cause, we will simply drop all our projects and withdraw as soon as it is feasible. We repeat, we are only here as an extension of the standing Moses Land government. If they feel that we are having a detrimental effect on the populace, we will hear it from them, not from another country wishing to elevate their own standing by dictating what we should do. Should Prime Minister of Moses Lands have a complaint, we will hear it from Moses Lands. As far as we are aware, we are pushing out forces willing to use so-called nationalism in order to plunge the nation into despair just so that they can achieve power. We won't stand for that. We shall eliminate such forces to the fullest extent of our power that is present. Should we, or the Moses Land government feel we achieved that goal, or is no longer part of that goal, we shall withdraw as soon as feasibly possible. That is all.

Aaryena Alliance HQ---
Order of General Falkner---
Preparation to return city to local control...
Lists of former government personnel has been located and their last known home locations are known. According to General Faede, we have trailed all known terrorist and it is believed that 99.9% of them has exacuated the city, and that the vast majority that remains are law abiding citizens ready to return to regular life. All power, water, and sewage services have been restored. All refugees present are placed in newly built apartments until they are capable or willing to return to their hometowns. We are to contact as many as former governmental servants and recruit as many as trustworthy personnel as possible to fill in civil command roles. A token force of 250,000 is to remain to train new recruits and protect the crews as they finish their projects. Colonel DiGerrard will remain to assure this order is carried out. This order is effective immediately.

General Falkner rubbed his forehead as he put out those commands. "I guess it's time to move operational HQ to Aaronvill to oversee those projects." As he walked out the door, he paid for all the rooms that he and his operation used to command the troops and then, between rows of guard troops, walked out to the waiting convoy, and got into one of the APCs. A half an hour passed as all the guards packed and carried all the equipment and got on the other APCs. Then the convoy rolled off. One of the officers next to Falkner turned to face him. "Sir, I congratulate you on a job well done, we have pacified a major, localized insurgency and set this city up for a quick recovery." Falkner shook his head. "No, this is only the beginning, and what could only be the tip of the iceburg. Aaronvill is a mess... even worse mess than this, we must quickly rebuild it for the good of those people and secure it away from the insurgency. A former gem of Moses Lands will shine once more." The officer nodded and relaxed back on his seat.

Final Status of Aaryna upon General Falkner's withdrawal and Colonel DiGerrard's instatement:
(% Completion)
Infrastructure-
Water 100%
Power 100% (There is currently an over-abundence of power to allow for powering of other neighboring cities)
Sewage 100%
Roadways 100%
Transition to local control-
Police 20% (Currently, awaiting confirmation from the PM of Moses Lands)
Fire 40%
Medical 100%
Administration 5% (currently, the Alliance Administration is recruiting from the population to fill slots currently covered by Alliance personnel)
Elimination of Anti-government forces 99.9% (approxmately)
Withdrawal of Darconian Alliance Military Forces in city 25%

Adrian smiled as the Darcon's fell into his trap they gave away a lot of information, information that could be used if it was nessecary already it was locked in an intelligence locker in a folder labeled classified. He quickly turned to see Valkan walking in, "Commander." Adrian said with a nod and Valkan handed him a list, a list of the King's Army demands.

After looking over them Adrian smiled, "They seem to be taking steps forward finally. I hope we played some part we just have to hope the Government agrees to these demands if not most of them. Some are extreme but they can easily be negotiable or acceptable and if this leader for Moses Land was caring for his people he will give up his post... right?" Adrian asked the Commander who didn't change expression, "Sometimes power is hard to let go but what would we do if the current Chief of State refuses?"

Adrian sighed, "We'll have to side with the rebels I'm afraid we tried but there is nothing more we could do if the government of Moses Land refuses even if it means peace for their nation... are we prepared Commander?"

The commander ran his hand through his hair, "Sir we are, but not ready to fight a full frontal infantry war with Darcon... they would outnumber our forces easy the only possible solution would be a guerilla war."

Adrian grimly smiled, "Something we specialize in." Valkan nodded in agreement, "All we can do is sit and watch, our forces are mobilized already from the conflict in Kavlon... we can have our forces there within several days."

Adrian turned to look out his window, it was raining.

The rain pelted the window that faced Nat, streaks quickly slid down. His light was on and the glare left little to be seen from the window. His fingers rapped quietly on the large oak desk that sat in front of him. He heard the front doors open and men wishing Jerry a safe trip home. He took a deep breathe and slowly let it out. A streak of lighting danced across the night sky lighting up the room followed by a roar of crackling thunder. ‘Strange storm this time of year.’ He thought, ‘Must be an omen.” He made a nervous laugh at himself. He cleared his head a called for an aide. “Call General Scott,” He paused, “tell him to mobilize the forces in his sector and await further orders. Make sure to tell him to wait, he has not been given the command to commence anything!” The Aide nodded and vanished from the office. He called another aide in. “Make sure that man gets a safe passage out of the city; take the back roads if you have to. It is essential that he makes it out of here.”

“Why is your brother leaving?”

“It wasn’t my brother.”

These fools would put a dictator back in power. They may talk of democracy, but they are simply lying. They are a threat to domestic and international peace.

Article from The Dominion

The Army of Moses Land was forced to retreat from Abbots today. The rebel army however did not make good of its threat to massacre the entire city. A rebel spokesperson indicated now that they were gaining international support as the legal government, they could not murder their own subjects.

Studies show division amongst Moses Landers. North of the Sheran river (the symbolic separation of the Federal North and Rebel South in the Civil War) 54% of the population was in favor of the rebel’s demands. South of the river 76% were in favor.

However in the former rebel strongholds of Aaryeh (North of Sheran) and Conrova (South of Sheran), the numbers were 89% opposed.

Unless Janis Mirium can put her government together, support for the rebels will grow.

It is with great sadness that we learn the government of Moses Land has thrown away the possibilities of peace and has instead pursued the path to war. We regrettably are forced to declare war upon the Government of Moses Land. We tried the diplomatic route but it is obvious that diplomacy can not be found without blood being spilt.

The idiotic nation of Darcon has so openly decided that twenty million troops are needed and are not a drain on its economy, don't make us laugh. We are surprised that the entire national economy is not in the garbage. However we will not fire on them unless fire first; this war is between Moses Land and Eternus Lumen, no one else unless they would like to get involved.

Our forces are ready to bring hell to your nation; even though we don't to we are forced to something you should never do to Eternus Lumen. As we speak money is being transferred to the King's Army numbering at fifty billion USDs to purchase what they see fit.

We will bring this matter to the international community for review and you better pray to God himself your nation does not become a hell hole that will never recover. God's speed King's Army and may victory be yours!

Throughout Eternus Lumen the war signal was sounded again, the second time within a few weeks. The troops who had been mobilized for the Kavlon conflict were ready to go within the day. Field General Dovain would lead the attack on Moses Land. He was a peaceful man unless provoked and he had been provoked. He served on one of the four flagships of the Eternus Lumian Navy the Omega Class Trimaran Heavy Battleship, Hydra. He orders were followed without hesitation and the fleet was ready to go by midnight. He had prepared a speech and he read it over the intercom,

"My fellow service men and women, today we find that the world is not as we hoped and is what we feared. We will try our hardest to fix that starting with the conflict in Moses Land. Let us all bow our heads and pray that victory come swift with as little bloodshed as possible but most of all let us fight for our nation, our ideals, our family, the world! To Victory or to Death!"

He uttered the Lumian war cry and the service men and women could be heard for miles cheering and stomping their feet, "Set sail!" Dovain barked and the fleet set sail for Moses Land carrying thousands of well trained Guerillas.

We will send you Janis Mirium's location in exchange for her capture. Send her to Amands and we will force her to agree to a rewrite of the constitution and the disestablishment of the Holy Republic.

The large army was collapsing. They weren't fighting a battle at the moment, at least not in the traditional sense. It was a fight to keep the military from disbanding.

On one hand were the supporters of the government. They were the ones who wanted the army to stay intact and fight foreign invaders and rebels.

Then there were the rebel sympathizers. They hated the rebellions means but loved their cause. If they knew where the Prime Minister was hiding, they'd have marched in and shot her.

Then there were the Communist rebels from the civil war who didn't get along with anyone. They wanted a socialist constitution, not one proposed by the "King's army."

General Stewert didn't know what to do, or which side to support. When the Civil War had begun he was a Holy Ensign. He had served in the Kannaran War, which had immediately preceded the Civil War, and everything had been so black and white. He knew who his enemy was, and how to kill them.

Then the Civil War began. Stewert had had socialist leanings and was not a fan of Prime Minister Tomis, but he was sure that the government didn't deserve to be overthrown. He figured it would fix itself up after the rebellion was crushed.

But it hadn't. Two Prime Ministers had been murdered in the same week, dissent was everywhere, and they were being invaded again.

Even if the government survived what would happen next? The nation would be ravaged again. They'd depend on foreign nations to fix them up again. It could be done but would any nation want to get involved with Moses Land again?

But any other option would be to let the rebels win...

Stewert had no idea what he'd do. But he needed to get the army united somehow...

To: The government of Eternus Lumen

We politely ask that your armed forces stand down immediately and permanently. You have no just reason nor cause to enter a war torn country. Your actions as world police are commendable but in vain. You speak of no bloodshed but what you are doing will surely lead to countless lives being lost. You side with the rebels because of their cause, to help stop the fighting yet it is them who continue to fight. The rebels are nothing more than the dissenters; the out-casts. The war ended and with that diplomacy should follow. There will always be those who lash out against a government, that is a draw back of democracy but the demands they want are to end democracy. You must see the small print. If the rebels win, no longer will there be a right to protest and another civil war or rebellion would rise up in its place.

This is a message to all nations in Moses Land. Pull out now. Your work is admired and remembered but done. You have helped restore a nation but now Moses Land and her people must do the rest. The rebellion is Moses Land’s problem do not make it yours.

Stewert Proclamation

1). All The men and women who swore an oath to the military of Moses Land will do their duty despite any misgivings they may have.

2). The rebel forces are terrorists and will be treated as such. We urge all foreign nations to recognize what they really are.

3). If any nation attacks a citizen, resident, ally, or the property of those categories, they will be declared an enemy of the nation. However, that will only happen after such an attack has been made or is strongly believed to about to be made.

4). All foreign nationals on Moses Land soil must abide by the governments requests and demands if any are made concerning Moses Landers safety and well being or else leave.

5). Janis Mirium is the legal Prime Minister of Moses Land until her term expires.

6). On Election Day next week the need for a new constitution will be voted upon.

7). If anyone military, rebel, civilian, Moses Land government, or foreign government fails to follow these measures, they will be dealt with.

Message to the nation of United States of Brink,
You're points are valid and hold true, but there are several things wrong. We do in fact speak of no blood shed or we would like to spare as much as possible and do you think that by letting Moses Land rip itself apart we will spare little or less bloodshed? No, it will in fact create even more then that will be created from this war!

And do you not think that after being given tremendous aide they would not listen to what we have to say? Sure they're methods are questionable, but they are that of a desperate people do you not think that if you're country was being oppressed by an over kill amount of foreign troops they would stand a chance? Would they have to resort to means that we wouldn't normally want? I would think so.

Your words are wise and we respect them however, we cannot allow the bloodshed to continue. If the King's Army refuses to listen to us, then we'll we would have all failed to create such a scenario. But I have faith in the people, I believe them to be respectable you're just going to have to trust them. Sometimes that's all anything needs.

The Dominion News Paper

Janis Mirium plans to run for reelection on a platform of keeping the Constitution.

"We fought an entire Civil War to keep our government intact. We aren't going to throw it away now."

The Prime Minister is facing Joseph Raga, a rebel colonel in the Civil War.

"This is a corrupt government. They are setting my campaign back through 'legal means'"

Reports show in provinces still run by the government, posters for Raga are being taken down.

"They are encouraging rebels to attack us." Mirium told us. "They are a threat. Just ask the people of Abbots."

Studies show suspected rebels and their families and associates are being forbidden to vote. Amands governor Craig Livingston a Mirium supporter told us "Does it make sense to allow terrorists to vote?"

"We aren't terrorists!" Reg Janson of North Gos told us. "My mother is serving in the army right now! She was at Abots during the counter attack!"

The election will pit Liberal Prime Minister Janis Mirium against Progressive candidate Raga and Conservative Maxwell Tio.

Estimates show a huge majority of the population is against Mirium but split between the two candidates.

The Liberals, made up mostly of members of the Socialist Party who stayed loyal to the government in the Civil War, control much of Moses Dominion and The desert region to the north.

The Progressives, largely made up of former Rebels in the south are being hurt by the Liberals campaigning against them, and are using hatred from the Civil War against their opponents.

The Conservatives, the party of Prime Ministers Tomis and Murphy, are popular in many regions, but are hurt for being accused of being 'warmongers', 'to far to the right' on fiscal issues, and 'lacking a strategy to stop the rebellion.'

The election will be held in five days. The government has asked nations controlling several cities to allow election supervisors.

Eternus Lumen:
You have not been around for the actual civil war itself, so you would not know the actual composition of our army and why it is not a massive drain on our economy. This army is a composite army of the Darconian Alliance as a whole. We have received direct pledges from them to mobilize their forces and place them under Darconian command during this mission. Lander, Autochron, Reotron, and Darcon have each put up 5 million troops for this mission (hardly 1/1000th of our individual populations). We as a collective are not afraid to pull out arms to support the current standing government. That is why we came here in the first place, to make sure that the civil war ended with as little casualties possible and the victor be allowed a smooth transition into power. These so-called terrorists are only interested in themselves and their own self interests under the guise of nationalism. We are not afraid of anything you throw at us.

We are the Darconian Alliance. Fear our might. Do not insult one of us, unless you are ready to insult all of us.

Signed under an emergency joint session of the Darconian Alliance,
Leader, Darcon
General Tarken, Lander
General Lorst, Reotron

Moses Lands:
As previously agreed, we shall allow your people to travel freely unless they are suspected of criminal or terroristic activities. Furthermore, we pledge that in accordance with Moses Lands laws, we shall defend the winner of this election with the full might of present Alliance forces. No outside power shall hold sway over the people, if they are to achieve power, they shall do so by legitimate means. We, the Alliance of Darconian States, will not consider rebels part of any legitimate power in the country unless they submit themselves to the political process at hand. Our forces will not stifle the freedom to speak out in public forums nor will we stifle the freedom to campaign for public office. However, should violence occur, we will act. We feel confident in our overall military power, so much so, that we will allow people to go on their lives peacfully unless they resort to violence or illegal activities in accordance to Moses Lands laws.

Brink:
Your concern is admirable. However, it seems the current standing government does not feel that way. We shall see if it changes after the elections. We shall insure that the south goes through a fair political process through our own observers also. However, we are interested in a stable transference of power for the good of the region and of the world. Even the fall of the tiniest nation can shake the international environment as history has told over and over again. We do not wish to risk repeating history. With this election, even if the rebels win majority, we shall respect their wishes as they have gained power legitimately. As for bloodshed... the only blood drawn thus far has been our own soldiers while arresting men intent on mass murdering civilians for their own political gain. These men are still being held without even a scratch on them. They are currently being fed and well cared of with an occaisional questioning session to see if they are willing to give out information.

Somewhere along Moses Land Coastline

The waves rolled and crashed against the rough coastline. Mist from the collision of water on rocks sprayed up from the cracks. The water would recede only to be followed by another wave heading for shore. Seagulls called out in the distance diving into the water reaching for an unlucky fish. The sun was just peaking out over the horizon revealing a refreshing light over the area. The sand was cool from the long night and Ethan dug his toes in deep. He was laying down thinking, dreaming in the sand. He slowly brought himself up on his elbows looking out over the beautiful blue ocean. Next to him was a local newspaper he had picked up just before he walked on the beach. He picked it up and brushed the stray sand that rolled across the paper.

Dangerous Message Intercepted; read the headline. He glanced over the paper looking for the article. The article went on: Eternus Lumen spy caught by Darcon troops. Under further investigation reveals much information. Lumen troops are to disregard any authority that Darcon’s say they have, disregard their area of control, and are to oversee the elections as much as possible. Also found were various maps of Darcon military installations, storage and munitions depots and various landing points in Darcon held territory. Darcon Alliance in uproar.

He set the paper down. He sat looking blankly into the wild blue ocean. He could only imagine what kind of chaos this could bring. ‘It was wrong of them to come, for everyone to come,’ he thought to himself. He brought himself to his feet and dusted off the sand that clung so tightly to him. He took one last look at the beautiful ocean and said, “The shits really going to hit the fan now.”

IC: Dovain smiled as the land came into view, it was night making it just a bit harder to detect the massive helicopter carrier fleet. "Start'em up!" Dovain barked, and the crew relayed his orders and the carriers roared to life. Within minutes helicopters were taking off with their escorts. They were to land their troops on the nearby beach and come back to transport more troops. Once all of the guerillas had been delivered the carriers would go into international waters, where they would be safe from any fleet other then that of Moses Land.

After an hour they were done and close to ten thousand guerillas were now on Moses Land, armed to the teeth with the works. They moved quickly splitting into their guerilla squads of a hundred and soon they were off. They would all find their objectives by themselves to help keep the army alive if a squad was captured.

The person in charge was, Guerilla Specialist Tom Sways and he was a brutal fighter, willing to kill all in the name of an ideal hence the reason he had rose in the Guerilla ranks so rapidly. He ordered the split up while, some groups headed to Aaryeh while others headed towards the Prime Minister's location and others to King's Dominion. Each large squad would split up later, and split up again till there would be no more then five to a squad. They each had their mission and they would not fail it.

The guerrillas had begun to split up and spread out, a group of ten Guerillas had arrived early at Aaryeh and were on the outskirts of the city, hidden behind a large group of forestation. They were close enough to begin the attack. Information proved by Darcon themselves told the A-Force (Aaryeh) that they would mostly be on the outskirts, cause as much damage as possible.

Trying to load the Two RPGs as quietly as possible they took aim after moving slightly into the open the two attackers prepared themselves as the other eight moved away so they wouldn't be hit by the end of the RPG. It was quiet as they uttered the Lumian war carry, Victory or to Death and they opened fire towards a group of Darcon soldiers. One went towards a large group, another towards a defense installation. Not even looking to see if they hit they dropped the RPG launcher and placed a grenade next to it so the Darcon's would not be able to use it. Pulling the trigger they ran several seconds and it exploded setting the small forestation on fire and illuminating the Guerillas, "Oh shit... run, dammit run!"

Stewert and his army approached Aaryeh. They were finally going to fight an honorable enemy with conventional tactics. That thought had brought them all together for now.

The missile impacted the ground right next to the group of Guerillas. The explosion knocked them to the ground. Two of them were dead and the rest of them just ran. So Un-Lumian, they thought as they ran from the incoming troops but then in the distance they saw dozens of rockets flare and shoot towards the incoming army, the rest of the guerillas had arrived.

Sways was with his group when they were told to get down, "Now wait just a second I'm in-" He was tackled to the ground as Stewart's army appeared over the top of the road, "Holy shit." He whispered, barely audible, "Sir...there's a group over there, they just opened fire they're under attack." An office whispered.

Sways looked over the grass in the night and saw the group illuminated by the grenade's fire, "Shit alright everyone get your grenades out time for a party." The group nodded, true it would get them killed but any attack in a guerilla war could get you killed this one was just for sure. Suddenly though rockets were sent flying towards the enemy from the hills above and the sides. A-Force had arrived in full force and was ready to unleash hell in an ambush on Stewart's army, "Let's join'em boys." The group stood up threw their grenades into the marching army and opened fire with their guns.

A second Alliance base was quick to respond. Within moments of the attack, heat sensing helicopters started to hover in the air and shooting at anything human sized that is generating heat in the forests. While fighter jets circled the air. After about half an hour, Landerian (Alliance member) heavy infantry poured out of the attacked base to chase down the guerillas. A loud cry from them seem to shake the very foundations of the city. "Death to the infidels!" After a few seconds, trees began falling as Landerian troops began wiping out the very trees that stood in their way in their near blind retributional rage. One unit seethed and was heard saying, "Kill... Destroy... Those who stand against the Alliance shall know no peace." The acting commander, Captain Jin, was acting carefully to at least guide the berserked units in the direction of where the guerillas ran and also ordered the units in the city to emerge and make sure these infidels do not hide into the city. The helicopters in the air continued to trail after the guerillas that maintained a good distance ahead of the troops. The Alliance instated colonel was dead... and the Landerians wants the blood of those responsible for the death of a comrade and Captain Jin isn't about to hold them back. IC: Rebel Mansion

Nat sat at his desk minding the mountain of papers that sat in front of him. He hated it, the tedious hours of pointless paperwork that filled the void of day. He dreamed of being out in the field, the sand or snow building up in the crevices of his face. The aides scurrying around him, messages going out in every direction. It was what he was made for, his destiny if you will. Sadly it was not to be, what the rebellion needed was a leader, someone working endlessly behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly, or at least as smooth as it could go. He now controlled it all, after the death of the main leader during a battle with Moses Land forces. He was in essence the king of the King’s Army. So there he sat, fidgeting with paper work on his old oak throne.

The rain clouds gathered again the second time in just a few days. The sky grew a frightening dark which led to every light in the mansion being turned on. The rain was starting to spit, Nat’s favorite part of a rain storm. He took a short break from his work and watched the lighting far in the distance. The sky was getting darker by the minute. An aide burst quickly through the door, startling Nat who sat dreadfully in his chair. The man’s eyes were filled with fear. The news this man knew would surely not be pleasant. “Sir…General Scott and General Bell are both dead sir.” He paused as if not knowing how to continue. “It…it was horrible. They were riding in an old army jeep with the windshield down. There was a string…fishing line it must have been. Scott caught it first, it cut right through to the bone sir, it half decapitated him. The line broke but not before it slit Bell’s throat sir. Sir…I’ve never seen so much blood sir.” The man was obviously shocked. Nat watched him knowing there was more; it all hadn’t quite sunk in yet. The man continued, “Sir I hate to say it but that’s not it. Mr. Lindorm was found dead in his sleep…with a plastic bag over his head. This isn’t normal sir, they were all assassinated…every one of them. I think….I think you might be next sir.”

He was right and Nat knew it. Someone, something had killed them all. It wasn’t normal, this person was good. The killings couldn’t be traced to anyone. The rebellion was collapsing with every breathe Nat took. This can’t be happening he thought. The two men looked at each other not knowing what to do next. A group of heavily armed guards took up positions around Nat which made him even more nervous. Various personal moved in and out of the corridors locking and barricading every hall of the mansion. Soon the entire place was on lockdown, guards posted every so often and at all the main doors. The storm outside pounded on the roof, lighting lit up the room for brief moments, the thunder shook the house. Nat watched the doors closely. He saw the shadow of a guard stationed on the other side underneath the slit of the door. Another rip of thunder and the shadow was gone. He tried to focus his eyes but the guard was gone. Underneath the door a small trickle of liquid made its way into the office. He looked around him and saw a soldier staring back at him. “The guard out there is dead.” The soldier shook his head in disbelief. The lights began to flicker but stayed on. Suddenly the lights gave way to total darkness. All eyes were on the door. The air was stiff and silent broke by the shatter of glass.

“Grenade!” A soldier shouted. With that the guards busted through the door into the hallway, Nat right in the middle. The grenade never went off, it was a dud. They were still, frozen in the middle of the hallway, it was a trick…a trap. Attached to the wall, just about eye level was enough c4 to level the entire mansion.

Nat let out a small chuckle, “Son of a…..”

We have been combing through the woods, at least what remains of the forest around Aaryena. We are currently on the trail of these so-called rebels. However, their numbers and organization is far more greater than any rebellion group. We suspect another nation involved. We are on their trail and moving swiftly to locate their location. In the meantime, we have told the Landerians to stop their rampage in this area. Landerian gunships remain hovering around the streets of Aaryna and its outskirts.

Article from The Dominion

With one day remaining before the election, rebels have stepped up their attacks.

While it seems the rebels lack leadership, they do not lack power. Yesterday outside Golimi Moses Land forces prevented a bomber from destroying the city water tower from a far.

Unfortunately suicide attacks are becoming frequent. At Amands a blast killed 13 civilians and the bomber, and wounded 43. At Conrova a shooter took down ten civilians and two policemen, before being mortally wounded by police.

Perhaps the worst news comes from Cone, the former provisional capital of Moses Land and its northern most city-province. A gas attack was used on the cities residential district. The gas was put out and the attackers killed, but not before 65 civilians had died and an unknown amount wounded.

Meanwhile the army is still tied up near Aaryeh.

The polls open nation wide tomorrow. Results will be posted on our radio station as they come.

END MESSAGE

As the Darcon Helicopters and Eternus Lumen troops fought, the Nistoloian Troops entered the country. Flying low in their Viper Transports, they were barely dectable on radar. Even when they had been dectected, the influx of relief helicopters and planes meant that they were simply thought of as supply units.
Flying quietly over the ground, they soon spotted the flares and missle flashes of the Darcon Helicopters. After a brief radio message to the Darcon commander, six of the 18 Vipers veered off towards the battle. The others continued towards to capitol.
Onboard, the Nistolonians quickly checked gear. Dressed in their typical light armour and warpaint(like this (http://us.games-workshop.com/games/warhammer/woodelves/extras/art/popup.htm?images/3.jpg), but with guns and beter cloaks), they loaded rifles and pistols, checked grenades, swords and comm units, and whispered prayers as their officers quickly briefed them on the situation. Still out of visual range and flying under most radar, the Vipers stood by to commence their attack run.
OOC2: Waiting on you, Darcon.

Commander Ithelieon switched back to the Nistolonian comm channel. "All units, this is Hunter Command. Ready weapons, begin approach on the target zone."
The black gunships exited VOTL mode and cruised towards the battle. The troops inside gave one last equipment ceck as the rear doors opened.
"Hunter Command, this is Hunter Lead. Target coming into vision. ETA, 1 minute."
"All units, this is Hunter Command. Assume attack formation."
With another quick radio message to the Darcon troops, the Vipers swooped in, guns blazing. The other helicopters stopped firing long enough for the Nistolonians to complete their attack run.
"Hunter Command, this is Hunter 2. Looks like we can land in that bombed out forest clearing there."
The Vipers dropped in low, eachone hovering over the clearing just long enough for the troops to disembark. With that, they joined the helicopters strafing the forest.

"Lets move! All squads, find your designated search area! Fan out! Its only a few forigin guerillas!" Captian Thanus whispered ungently into his comm. He signaled for his squad to move out.
The forest was rough terrian, but the Nistolonians lived in the jungle. This was a cakewalk. Moving silently through the forest, they swept the area for the fleeing enemy troops. Withen 10 minutes, squad 4 found the two corpses killed by tank fire. They began to track them, following the footprints from the bodies, back into the middle of the woods. The sergeant glanced at his map and flicked on his comm. "Looks like they're heading towards the big hill we passed on the way in. Huh. You can see the other troops bypassed them. You've got to give them some credit."
"Not enough credit." Captain Thanus cut in. "Viper one, give us a pick up, grid H-5. All other squads, keep searching. I'll take squad one up to the hill and see what we can find."

Soon, Captain Thanus was in position. There was no sign of the enemy, just the sound of some nearby birds who hadn't been scared away by the airial bombardment.
The minutes passed.
Then, the birds stopped. Ruthion peeked his head out from his concealed position. He held up four fingers. Thanus nodded. From his vantage point, up in a tree, he couldn't see them, but he could hear them jogging through the woods. He tapped his comm. "Take down 3, leave the fourth"
There were 3 almost simultanious silenced weapon discharges, followed by three thumps. Thanus dropped from the tree. The last one was franticly looking around, his weapon pointing everywhere.
"Listen, guroun, its over. Drop your gun and you can live. You have five seconds."
The man spun to face the noise, but even though it seemed to Thanus that he was looking right at him, he saw no-one. "Four"
He dropped the gun. Lyria and Hedros handcuffed him. Thanus called for a pickup.

The only thing that was disturbing that pattern, were the Van Luxemburgian vehicles. they were guarding every important building and road. "Welcome to election radio. This will probably be the closest election in Moses Land history, and the most important. The candidates are:

"Liberal party sitting Prime Minister Janis Mirium. She has campaigned on a platform of raised taxes, healthcare, military drafts, suspension of civil rights against suspected rebels, and keeping the constitution. It is worth pointing out polls show most citizens see her as the most Conservative candidate, even though he is a member of the Liberal party.

"Maxwell Tio of the Conservative Party and the nephew of the late Prime Minister Charles Tio. The candidate supports a new constitution, less prosecution of suspected rebels, a draft, money to the military instead of healthcare, and closer relations with the international community. He is believed to be a center-right candidate.

"Finally, Progressive party candidate Colonel Joseph Raga. Raga fought in the Civil War as a rebel and was the ranking rebel officer after the battle of Moses Dominion. Since then General Stewert has called him 'a model soldier and critical for the armies reorganization.' Raga campaigns for more military spending, no draft, a new constitution, parole for former rebels, more healthcare funding, a complete reorganization of the government and military, and greater isolation though he has stated he will not ask nations providing aid to leave or to decrease aid.

Voting opened three hours ago. Exit polls show that in the southern province-cities of Harris Vill and Katzkan, Raga holds a firm majority. Conis and Conrova are voting Mirium, and Tio has a lead in Cones and Toths. We'll bring you more information as it comes in."

"The provinces we announced earlier have been officially confirmed to be won by the candidate. Raga has 14 votes, Mirium 20, and Tio 20 as well.

"Lawtown and Aaronvill seem to be going for Raga, Aaryeh and Amands for Tio, and Tomis Town for Mirium.

"Golimi is split between Tio and Raga, and Moses Dominion between Mirium and Tio. Abbots and its 5 votes and Weis and its 15 votes are split nearly evenly between the three candidates.

You are asking us to abandon our relief units to the very whims of rebel forces or what remnants of the disorganized Moses Land troops that remain... we cannot do that. We know not of any force capable of protecting our expansive capital works present in this country other than ours. As we speak, our road crews, water crews, and electricity works are coming under attack... without our forces, they would all be annihilated. If our forces withdraw, so will all our aid. We have not heard anything directly from Moses Lands, nor do we know about your connections to this country. We are awaiting direct orders from either our high command or that of Moses Lands. We have no war here, only acts of self-defense. Our war will be taken to the homeland of these foreign guerillas.
