A Small Invasion

In a little known sector of space, the planet Kwizaz sat basking in the systems sun. It's people sitting oblivious to the rest of the galaxy, even tho their technology was keeping up with many other nations of the cosmos.

It's people, a race resembling covenant elites but not quite, were a militaristic peoples. Highly skilled in the ways of warfare which was common throughout their history. But those wars were always fought by the people of the planet, and all that would soon change.

Emerging from a streak of light, a Taledonian battle group appeared in the system. The gray hulls and flashing lights slid through space towards the small planet.

Captain Morris stood on the bridge of the Imperial Class Battle Cruiser Temptest, the flagship of the fleet. Walking down onto the second floor of the bridge, Morris stopped by one of the computer panels.

What's the status of the fleet?

All 18 starships are accounted for and fully operational; they are awaiting your command, sir.

Morris let the information sink in and a small smile appeared on his face. Excellent, he thought, this should be a piece of cake, especially if the Republic sends reinforcements.

Have the fleet move into attack pattern IV and prepare to assualt all the planets defenses.

Yes, sir, transmitting orders immeadiatly.

The battle group formed up, the battle cruiser flanked on both sides by the two carriers in the middle of the fleet, while the four destroyers and four of the attack frigates made a square around them. Then the other four attack frigates went to the corners of the square; and the 3 support frigates formed up in a line in the middle behind the battle cruiser and the carriers.

In a little-known sector of space, a listening post was quietly observing everything that happened. Of course, this post's transmitter was inoperable, so the information would not be transmitted back until some years later, but still, it recorded...

Five ships emerged from FTL in the planet's atmosphere. These five ships were no ordinary ships.

They were the largest ships ever built or used by the ISF Devastator. Three of them had been built over the past century, the other two had existed for many, many centuries before that.

Those five ships were the Devastator, Hellbore, and the new Devastator II, Adamantie Helm, and War Child.

Emerging in the atmosphere caused much havoc around the ships. They caused huge thunderclaps, like the coming of the gods. The massive shapes cause massive amounts of land the be sheilded from the rays of the sun.

The Devastator ad Hellbore were 20 kilometers lng each, and the new ships were 55 kilometers long. All of them were dedicated warships, with massive amounts of weapons.

And the new ships carried dual particle cannons, instead of the one like the Devastator and Hellbore.

and that was in adition to the hyper-missiles, p-beams and the fighters they carried.

"Attention Taledonian Fleet. You will cease our actions immediately. I repeat, you will cease all actions immediately. Continue on your path, and we will open fire."

As soon as the message was tranmnitted, the sheilds of the ships came on. The Standard Hexaganal sheilds of the Devastator and Hellbore, and the double-layered hexagonal sheilds of the new ships. Their weapns powered up, those hidden inside the ship for cruising emerged, making the ships look like porcupines from Ancient Terra.

they were ready for war.

Rob Pulson frowned as he started to pick up several large anomilies on his scanners. His eyes widened as he took in everything he saw. A fleet of unknown ships and...and five battleships. By jove, look at the size of those things! The smallest of those battleships must be at least three times as large as any Ravean Ramship! Rob thought hard. There shouldn't even be any ships in this area...He was as far off the main star charts as he ever had been, and he hadn't expected full battle fleets to be appearing out of nowhere.

"Better stay cloaked, Eve."

"Yes, Rob, I gathered that."

Rob sighed; Eve, Eve, Eve. The irratible but loving A.I. Well, what did she want from him? He was in sole possession of one of the most advanced ships in the galaxy, and he had one of the smartest A.I. systems of all time to boot. Sometimes, however, that was a thing to regret. Eve-the A.I.-was a machine, but she acted quite human. Chillingly human, somtimes.

Ravean Space Police Database. File 14613.

You have selected Robert Pulson.

Robert Pulson is widely considered to be the most dangerous outlaw in Ravean space. Hijacker of the famous LightWave frigate-equipped with the most advanced weaponry and artifical intelligance Ravea has to offer-Pulson and his ship have started two small wars, seven International Incidents, and was heavily involved a rather embarrassing Incident that contained several three-breasted Slluvian strippers and an ungodly amount of string cheese.

Pulson has been confronted several times by Ravean space forces; those that have come in contact with him claim he is a complete idiot, and that his ship does all his work for him. Reports of this are still unsustained.

As Rob drew closer to the multitude of ships, he realized just how much trouble he was in. Sure, the LightWave frigate was the best of it's kind, especially under Eve's guidance. Rob and Eve could take on any amount of small ships with a decent array of weapons. They couldn't fight any ship the size of those outside, however. Rob decided to try and stay under the radar on this one-he didn't want to start another war.

ooc: ISF, what are you doing? We had this planed out...

Ic: Kazeci ships entered the system with bright flashes of very white light. They could hardly be considered a fleet, but they were all that was necessary. The three super cruisers surged forward, towards the other ships. No transmissions were made. Weapons and shields were brought to full power.

(OOC: It's mainly open. And Kaduna, I'm not trying to claim it for my nation, this is my friends nation and this is his intro into the Republic so to speak.)

IC:

Morris turned his attention to the window as he saw the ISF ships appear in the system. What the hell are they doing here? he thought to himself.

Shields up!

Around each of the Taledonian ships, a blue bubble appeared and then dissappeared.

Continue to move towards the planet, open a channel to the Devastator.

This is the Taledonian vessel Temptest. We are on official Republican orders to invade this planet and bring it's people into the Republic. Any and all hostilities shown by you in an attempt to stop or prolong the invasion or help given to the planet will be seen as hostile and will be met with swift retaliation.

"Remember Thermopaly. And not the first one of Terran history. The planet.

And we've been improving since then."

He turned from the comms.

"Open fire."

the five ships opened up on the Taledonian fleet with their P-beams, hyper missiles, and other various weaponry. They left the Particle cannons at full charge, not firing yet. They were not needed for now....

(OOC: kk, i'll start again)

The Republic called, it was the duty of the Duke to answer, but with what force to respond with, the Parliment would never allow such a large fleet to embark on a military mission, it was times like this that the Duke despised the Parliment, if he put this to vote then it would months before he got a response, could he call upon the assistance of the Priesthood, no, it would point back to him, if he launched a small fleet the Parliment may turn a blind eye, "Grand Admiral Kordova, prepare the Kendwina II and two Cruisers, we fly to these co-ordinates!" He handed over a sheet of paper with the co-ordinates on.

Parts of the blue bubbles appeared and dissappeared everytime they were hit by the ISF bombardment, but no damage to the ships occured. Shaking is head, Captain Morris turned to face the rest of the bridge.

Have the fleet turn to face the ISF hostiles, open fire. Have the angels charged and ready, but do not fire. Launch all fighters and bombers. Right, red alert.

Let's see how long these bastards can hold out against energy cannons and torpedoes.

Turning back to the window, he watched as thousands upon thousands of small craft whizzed by the starships and headed towards the ISF fleet.

"Launch all fighters."

The 700 from the Hellbore, along with the 500 from the Devastator were joined by the 4200 from the other ships, 1300 from both of the Devastator II, and the Adamantine Helm, along witht he 1500 from the WAr Child.

"Is Third Fleet ready?"

"Yes, sir."

"Give them the co-ordinates of just behind the Taledonian fleet."

"Done, sir."

"now, ahve them jump in, in 45 seconds. In 45 seconds, i want the Particel Cannons to fire. The 8 largest Taledonian ships to be targeted.

"Aye, sir."

"For now, keep firing upon the Taledonian fleet."

45 seconds later, the Particle cannons fired, and an instant later, Third Fleet jumped in a few hundred kilometers off of the Taledonian fleet.

The fifty-six superdreadnaughts, hundred and five Dreadnaughts, one hundred and twenty five Battlecruisers, Two hundred Cruisers, and three hundred and eighteen Destryers opened up on the taledonian fleet from behind. Their P-beams, hyper missiles, and the new Heavy Artillery Cannonsfired. They Artillery Cannons fired solid chunks of material at speeds up to fifty times the speed of light, while remaining in the material dimension. They had enough kinetic energy as a three hundred gigaton blast. Their only drawback was their slower rate of fire, but that was why they were fired in waves, starting at one end, and by the time the firing got to the other end, the first firers were ready to fire again.

(OOC: ISF I thought we discussed your massive ship numbers before. You simple can't have that many ships in one fleet, you shouldn't even have that many considering the size of your ships. You don't have the economy or population for it.)
ISF Devastator
31-08-2005, 01:26
(OOC: Third fleet is not my 3rd fleet. It is about half of my battle line.

First Fleet is the Five humongo-ships
Second fleet is the Marine landing forces and their transports. Thrid and Foruth fleets are basicaly the smae, though Fourth Fleet has more carrier units.

And at least i am not using the insane amount of ships i used to use. The amount of destroyers as a minimum for Superdreadnaughts.

My superdreadnaughts are smaller than most other people's SDs. They are only around 1.5 kilometers long. they are just as deadly, but not the humongo-ships they used to be. Dreadnaughts are around a klick long. Battlecruisers are around 750 meters, Cruisers around 500, and Destroyers around 200.

31-08-2005, 01:30
(OOC: That's still way too much for ships of that size. I'm much bigger than you and have a stronger economy and I have only a few(roughly 30) battle cruisers which are 3km long, the rest of my ships are way smaller. It's just impossible for you to have that many.)

What, twenty six Superdreads and fifty-five dreadnaughts?

EDIT: oops... I didn't fix the ship counts.

There are 26 SDs and 55 DNs. The other ships are light.

I have a total of 69 SDs and 125 DNs. TOTAL, not in this battle

(Speaking as a more experianced space nation...ISF, you're in posession of an insane amount of ships. I myself only have a space fleet of hardly over six hundred ships total. I mean, a few gigantic and a whole mess of smaller ships is perfectly fine with me, but hundreds of ships miles long?)

Gah, ignore me. Too late.

OOC: ISF, there's no problem with you having a fleet that size. Of course, they all be falling apart, in total disrepair, and you'd have no money to pay your pilots, but still.... Oh, and you probably wouldn't have any other military, police, or anything.

My entire fleet is double that amount of ships.

my ENITRE FLEET.

Here's my ships, basicaly:

Destroyer: Lihgtly armed/armored/sheilded, small.
Cruiser: Medium armed, light armeored/sheilded, medium size.
BAttlecruiser: medium armed/armored, light sheild medium
Dreadnaught: Heavily armoed, armored, medium sheild large
Superdreadnaught: Heavily armoed/armored/sheilded, large

Remember, over three months ago i had upteen thousands of ships, very few smaller than my current SD. I'm still working my way down from there.

But, as most of you have heard before, I refuse, I Refuse, I REFUSE to be another ship abuisin', uber tech wankin' NS statistic. OOC: ISF, have you ever considered using frigates, gunships, and fighters?

I have never really used Frigates. They would probably fit into one of my cruiser classes,

Gunships, not really.

And all of my ships carry a small amount of fighters..

Kazec: My ships, exept for the big ones, are generaly less effective than most other people's ships of the same class.

I don't build everything like the big ships. Then i' have a flet of no more than a dozen ships.
