New, Future RP (OOC)

Okay so basically I was toying with the idea of having an RP set in the future *Gasp* Original I know. However then I thought, bollocks. Instead I decided on something that is simply futuristic and could have happened during Earth's 1207.

I will post up my current ideas and restrictions and such in a minute, but first I would like to say that if people like this idea and wish to join, would you be so good as to create a nation with a suitable name and so forth specifically for this RP? If this idea is generally liked I will set up a 'region' that will effectively serve the purpose of being the message boards for this other universe/planetary system or what have you.

Ideas I am toying with are as follows;

-This RP is set in another planetary system so far from any other current system in NS that you would weep were you to understand the distance, which you wouldn't.
-Your nation represents a planet (wow..)
-The population is roughly what your nation says, though keep a record of loses from battles and the such.
-It is the relatively early stages of common space travel. Trade between planets has opened up, along with communications and great battle barges are being created in the off-chance of war. As is human nature (The system is populated by humans alone) research into methods of space war have already begun so as to better defend/subjucate/enslave/learn.
-Technology on planets has already advanced to such a point where all planets hold the ability to destroy themselves and full body armour is becoming a reality. (Basically imagine technology in about 200 years time)
-How you play is your choice as always, but there are options for trade, diplomacy or war as always.

A rough guide to what there would and would not be;

-Laser guns do not exist, atleast not the traditional sense. They are at this stage impracticle as a hand weapon when solid ammunition or other such methods are equally as effective.
-Lasers -can- be mounted onto space craft, but they act as a cutting beam as oppossed to fired shots (You can do fired shots, but there is really no point)
-Speed of light travel will never exist, though you can come bloody close if you want to.
-Teleportation by any means is impossible.
-Strains of humans have developed an extraordinary level ESP. These humans are often placed into military roles as their abilities towards the telepathic, empathic and telekinetic are highly useful. These ESP humans cannot do super-human feats per se. They cannot use their mind to tear down a building, they cannot create fire from nothing and they cannot force someone to kill themselves. Only the strongest of 'psykers' could influence a persons mind or hurl a car and it would be as nackering as doing it manually.
-Alien races of a technological or social level even close to that of humanities simply do not exist.

Any questions you might have let me know and if you're interested, please say so here. If around ten people feel like getting involved in this (seriousish RP please, no nations like the Empire of 1337ness or Feifdom of crispy pork.) then we should get it started :)

Remember, to play in this RP you will need a fresh nation.

1. Any Warhammer40K tech?
2. Restricted to Humies only?

I'll think of more when it comes to it, but yeah sounds like a good idea.

Sound's superb, count me in if it occurs, and congratulations on finding a FT role play that doesn't degenerate into star wars and super killy lasers :D

If its 4ok based it would be cool to encorparate pre-fall eldar as an npc.

That is right, humans only to prevent people saying things along the lines of: Well my race of lizardmen are cold blooded so won't show up on your battle suit infrascopes and have super strength so could punch through you mens chests!

Humans only and only humanoid humans, no super/ab-humans.

What sort of 40k tech did you have in mind? Things like Servo-skulls would be fine, but anything you design would you have the good grace to design it yourself? lol. No using power armour without giving a run down of what it is, how it looks and how it works ;)

The purpose behind each rule is really to maintain a sense of equality and prevent things going off into silly directions; e.g. light sabres.
