Loosening The Choke

OOC: In the process of creating my factbook, I realized I wasn't signed up to any international environmental agreements. So I thought I'd see if there was any interest in setting up one. I doubt there will be though - it's much more interesting to fight continuous unrelenting wars without any noticeable social, economic or political effects than to grope wildly for the merest smidgen of reality. I am a sad, sad man.

IC: Concerned by the anti-business agenda of many environmental legislators, a group of corporate investors and directors have formed a loose coalition called 'Green Process', and have called on foreign captains of industry and concerned business persons to work towards compiling a realistic treaty on climate change, pollution and ecodamage with a view to convincing national governments to subscribe to an accord that will promote rather than punish responsible business practices.

Interested parties, whether wishing to enter fully into the process or merely observe proceedings, are invited to attend a summit in Flurthwel, Gruenberg, held at the Abzhanta Conference Centre.

The Aequatian Republic would be interested in taking part in such an alliance by sending a representative to the proceedings to help with the creation of the organization's charter.

Excellent. We will await the arrival of your representative, and prepare a welcome party (accommodation will, of course, be laid on at the Hotel Gruenton in Central District). We do not expect wide international interest in the project, and the conference may be small in nature; however, we would hope that genuine progress can be made towards a workable programme of industrial reform.
