Facts and Background info:
The Celestial Swords is a Catholic nation, and part of the Imperium of Man. It is a moralistic and militaristic republic, yet a compassionate one to it’s citizens. Recruits for the Imperial Guard, the primary military of TCS, are required to join at the age of 18, and must serve a minimum of 5 years in the Guard. Discharges for non-medical reasons and immigrants are denied citizenship, instead being Legal residents, but with no right to vote, until one term of service has been served. Women may choose to serve only 4 years, due to their fragility compared to males. In the year 3012, the old traction city of Boston converted the remains of a static settlement into a shuttle, in which they used old-tech discoveries to migrate to Terra VII, the current Capital, over 1000 years ago.
Government:
The Celestial Swords is run by a Grand Master Militant, Lord Falx Augustus Carius. The nation’s leader is traditionally the head of one of the many elite bio-engineered Space Marine chapters that handle heavy-duty wars and purely military conflicts, while they reside in giant fortress-monasteries, half the size of a small moon, during peace time. Each chapter and planet submits a delegate to a ruling council, while Falx Carius heads the congress, and acts as the government’s executive power. The administration is split into many branches, most tasked with running or supporting the military.
Military:
The Celestial Sword’s military is divided into four different branches: TheTerran Assault Forces, which is composed of Infantry and armored armies, The Adaptes Astartes, which is the branch of the noble Space Marines, Naval Defense, which handles armed conflicts and domestic naval policing, and the Planetary Defense Forces, which acts as the police of TCS systems. The Navy has been given increased government funding as of late, while the rest of the branches receive steady funding, and annual or bi-annual monetary rewards for large purchases or to pay off debts. The Terran Assault Force boasts upwards of 5 million men at the time of this document’s release, while the Space Marines number 30,000, though the equivalent of many times more. The Navy numbers about 150,000, not counting auxiliary. Currently, the navy is quite small, spilt up into two branches, though capable of destroying worlds, as the Planetary Assault Ship The Hammer, has proven many times over.
