[--The New Inquisition--]

It was yet again, another normal day in Agosto, the largest city in Afrika. The city streets were full of activity. Trucks, cars and minivans were speeding along the highways, people walked in sidewalks and drug dealers sold drugs. A specific drug, methamphetamine, or P, was catching on in Afrika. In fact, nearly 10,000 methamphetamine related injuries or deaths happened in Afrika in one year. More than gun violence, or other violence. The Imperial Government saw this trend rather early. They reported nearly $56 billion dollars of damages a year because of this drug alone. Finally the Government cracked down.

The Imperial Government had enabled the "Methamphetamine Prevention Act" which deterred criminals from distributing the drug, and people from using the drug. The P Act, as the media called it, was a relentless attempt to take individual rights away from the people. The media harshly attacked the act, and people's favour of the law dropped below fifty percent. GIN News, a news network from Agosto reported on the P Act. Here is that report.


"And now we go to Yunin Takinawa, our reporter is in the town of Doune, a major drug producing town outside the suburbs of Agosto."

"Thank you Mike. As you can see this rather rich town has been infested with the drug Methamphetamine, or P, as it is called here. The town of Doune, with a population of three hundred thousand people is a relatively small and religious town, where the National Christian Agency is headquartered. The town also has a very large Japanese population, which makes it unique in this side of the country.

As you can see here this town was put under Agosto Regional Police rule. This is because of the 'Methamphetamine Prevention Act’ that allows the Imperial, Provincial, or Regional commands to occupy a town if it is known to be producing a large amount of the drug. Free Rights groups have been attacking this act as an "unequaled oppression of free rights". The vehicles behind me are heavy bulldozers. These bulldozers are used to knock down buildings, another controversial part of the act. The Agosto Regional Police have been arresting and charging many drug dealers and manufacturers with heresy. Once charged with heresy they are more than 99% of the time burned at the stake. Drug abusers are arrested and sent to detention facilities [forced labour camps].

The mayor of Doune is rumored to be a drug lord himself. In an interview with him he admitted to using P, and even selling it. The mayor was elected on a "privacy" doctrine. Here is that interview.

'Hello.'

'Hello. Can you tell us about you role in the methamphetamine epidemic?'

'Uh... well, I have been the mayor of Doune, a town which produces tons of P, a year, for the last two years. There has been more than a half a thousand P related injuries or deaths in the town, but I couldn't do much about it. Until the ARP [Agosto Regional Police] came to our town.

'Yes we know your political career and about the town, but we want to know about you. It is rumored that you are a drug lord, and a methamphetamine user. Is that true?'

'Uh... I have used P before, but I never really... Wait, I did sell it to raise money for my -- Uh for my pool. I never manufactured it.'

'Can you please explain the burns on your arms?'

'Oh..eh...um..., yes I guess I have produced P. It was when I was younger.'

'Sorry sir, but we are out of time, thank you.'

As you can see the mayor is actually a drug lord, of sorts, and the rumor is true. Doune is a problem to Afrika and to our people."

"Thank you Yunin. And now to our weather!"


The very next day, trainloads of people were taken out of the town. Most of the trains went north to the camps. Some others went south to the Agosto Courts, where they would be tried for their crimes. Another major incident happened that day. The mayor of Doune was executed over the night . The press releases information about the Drug Lords who killed him. Then GIN News apologized to the family of the mayor. Free rights groups said it was a government conspiracy, and that the mayor was all part of the plan. Either way, the drug rate in Afrika dropped dramatically. Raids all over the country continued during the day. In fact, there was an average of three thousand P related arrests that day in Afrika.

Comedian Kili Juratsu, a Muslim from Agosto, told the joke "In Imperial Afrika Meth burns you!" on the late night show "Bob Askernill Tonight!”. Two hours later the show and station was shut down. The "Methamphetamine Prevention Act" allowed it as it retained to methamphetamine. The free rights groups once again proclaimed this was a "tremendous invasion of freedoms". Of course, almost everyone knew that the free rights groups were next on the list.

[--The Executioner--]

The grim days of the "Methamphetamine Prevention Act" let many people be exposed, and tried for crimes, many times that they did not even commit. Two months after the "Methamphetamine Prevention Act" was passed a Senatorial Election was up. The election was terrible for the Imperialists. The senate was nearly re-organized. The Emperor already nearing 65 was aging, and the Imperial cause seemed to end. The Socialists gained a 127 seats while the Imperialists lost a total of 251 seats, cutting their power in half. Many of the Imperialist thought it was the band "Obtuse" and it's liberal propaganda that was causing the problem. The Imperial government then expanded the "Methamphetamine Prevention Act" to the "Drug Prevention Act". It now gave them power to crack down on any drug use, even over-the-counter drugs.

The Imperials then lashed out at the band "Obtuse" and said that two of the five members of the band had used heroin, and another member had used cocaine. The Government trying to make a point, then sentenced them all to a immediate public execution by the Imperial Dreadknights. The media was in outrage and speak of a revolution spread the internet. However many people knew the Imperial government was coming to an end soon anyways, just maybe five more years of oppression. They could take it, just don't use drugs or act out against the government.

One week after the sentancing the band members were lined up on three chopping blocks. All members had had their left fook broken a day earlier in torture tests. A man dressed in a red robe with a black cape and mask walked up the steps of the centre square. The man then pulled a long sword out of the seath. He then smashed the foot of the first man up with his foot, the man screamed, and as he screamed the sword fell on his neck. The dead man's head fell to the ground. The executioner then grabbed the head and gave it to a guard to put on a post nearby. The body was taken away and tied to a stake to be burned. The man repeated this process twice more. And at the end he set the sword down and did the Imperial salute[Nazi-like salute] as he chanted "For the Emperor, for the Empire, and for the Fatherland."

This process was in front of a large crowd as the Emperor himself watched. The entire crowd roared into a chant, wether it was because the Emperor would have them all beheaded for no chanting or if they wanted to, it didn't matter. The Emperor was falling to old age and he needed to suceed his power soon. The Emperor then gave a small speach.

"Let this be a lesson to all drug using, Imperial bashing idiots out there. You are next and the Imperial Afrikaan Republican Guard will make sure of it. If you resist arrest you will be executed, just as these men were, or by being burned alive. Now you may go back to your homes and think of tonight's execution. For it will be a common occurence if Afrika continues down the line as it is now."

With in minutes the crowd dispearsed and all the networks covered the incident gave a commentary. Of course they must have blurred the scene for younger children watching at home, a government requirement. Unknown to most a force was assembling. The Socialist Empire. The Socialist power was thriving off of these executions and a month later the Pronvincial and regional elections were up to the vote. The Socialists gained 23 leaderships, and the Imperials lost a total of 48 leaderships. The People's Militia, completely legal in the Outer Casionic Isles[for defence reasons] was growing to nearly two million members, with the majority on the homeland, but yet members. The Socialists now had to play the waiting game, they had to wait for the Emperor to die. Then they could legally and constitutionally elect the next Emperor from the Senate. However many knew that they would have to fight some resistance to get to power, especially the Dreadknights and Republican Guard.

These men are criminals according to our laws, they committed treason and used drugs, a major crime in Afrika. We would like to say that our borders are always open for anyone who feels they cannot be oppressed anymore.

[OOC: You know that most Empires make it illegal to emigrate, and we are an island with a military larger than your population. Note: The Imperial Navy is inspecting all ships going in and out of the country as part of the "Drug Prevention Act".]

[OOC: Didn't know you were an island. And yes I knew that Empires(Dictatorships) strictly inforce travel (i.e North korea)] We forcely ban drug use in our nation but never have we murdered civilians over drug use. Only Prision time have been enforeced for any drug related crime(with death penalty issued more than a few times.) But pubically executing you citizens is done right genocide. Since this new law was issued how many people have you executed I ask you?

[OOC: Not all are being killed most drug abusers are sent to forced labour camps in the northern mines and oil wells. Only drug dealers and publicly known people are executed. And note the numbers below are actually about half the real count - government number fudging. I am no dictator ship, I am an EMPIRE! ;)]

Your need to know how many drug related executions is quite ackward. We have only executed nearly 2,423 people with cause related to drug selling of bulk over of 1 ton. However this number is most likely to increase as people continue to sell drugs in tons. There have been 67 treason-drug related charges since the "Methamphetamine Prevention Act" was passed. We see these as just slighly more than the average for the same amount of time. An additional 15,674 thousand people have been imprisoned. I hope this is satisfactory for you needs to disprove the accusation of genocide. Another request on our part, your should question your own motives of protecting drug lords who sell drugs and fight the government with their communist allies, a treason in all rights.

The blessed Chris entirely concurs with the sentiments and inetentions of the imperialists within Afrika, and intend to make available any humanitarian or military aid it possesses to ensure the defeat of the communist rebles.

However the "communist rebels" are dormant in the state of Pushka the last time we checked, they have a small base. We have annihilated them in the war of Imperial Conquest. [--Mountain Blitz--]

The Imperial Afrikaan government had no clue as to what was coming to them next - a major rebellion all over the restriction of drugs. The drug lords had had enough and pushed to recruit poor minorities in Afrika. The socialists got the same group oppressed and poor to join their side and rebel against the Imperial government. The first stages of the rebellion began.

On the island of Jiuka of the coast of Agosto, nearly 100 miles away they could still see smoke rising from the huge metropolis of Agosto, ships leaving and coming and even air planes flying in and out. The city of Des Modes, a large city on the eastern coast of Jiuka faced directly towards Agosto and was also known to be a poorer place than most of Afrika. Under its own regional control Jiuka was very poor and needed military control to maintain peace. This was always the way it had been for Don Kijies. Don was a Germanic Afrikaan and spoke German, Latin and Japanese. Don avoided military service by his test scores which were exceptional and allowed him to get into the military college.

Don Kijies married his college sweetheart, Tasha Udou, who became Tasha Kijies. Kijies was a native Afrikaan name which his ancestors picked up from the natives who are know completely extinct and little is known of their culture or way of life. Don and Tasha had already had six children while only being married eight years. Tasha was awarded the Bronze Mothers Credit, a medal which let her and her family avoid two military conscriptions for a chance at greater education. Having children had benefits in Afrika and the average family size was 6, meaning four children. Don was just promoted to Imperial Praetorian last week, meaning he was the second highest in command with his platoon of 110 men. However this morning was different.

Don woke up to the noise of his wife screaming and yelling at him. Don woke up and he immediately knew why his wife was crying. He looked to the door and there was a man in with jet white hair[dyed] and a straight black trench coat. The words "Dreadknight Legion" were obvious in red on the front of the helmet. The man read off a paper.

"Due to recent actions on the island of Jiuka by the Drug Lords and Socialists Rebels, has lead to the deployment of the '75th Republican Guard Panzer Grenadier Division' of the occupation force of Jiuka. You and your platoon are to form up at the Republican Guard barracks. Within twenty four hours your platoon will be used in offensive operation against the drug lord hold outs all additional information is withheld. Dismissed!"

The man then walked out of the room and down the stairs to the next soldiers apartment. Don quickly packed up the all his military gear and grabbed his government issued sword and pistol. And finally he grabbed his wallet. He flipped through the dividers to find a picture of his wife printed on the back of his membership card for the local Reserve centre, which he was supposed to be transferred to in two weeks. The words "Senatus Populusque Africanus" or SPQA. Don kissed his wife and put all the children back to bed. He then walked outside and hailed a taxi. A taxi pulled up, he jumped in and handed over a denarii to be driven to the Republican Guard Barracks.

That morning the cause of the deployment of the unit, which was currently on unactive duty as half-Republican Guards and half-Reserves to a full active duty unit, was a terrorist-like attack on a shopping mall. The attack was carried out with three bombs and a toxic gas cloud of RxA-9, a large 500 litre container of RxA-9 was stolen two months earlier from a shipping truck. The truck was attacked on the highway at night time, the driver was never found again, however his blood was all over the truck and a small amount was in a nearby swimming pool. The truck was carrying RxA-9A that was being shipped to a dearmament factory where it would be destroyed.

The first attack on the mall killed 103 people and wounded and addition 76 more people. The mall was shut down for the day and the local police were called to the scene when the third bomb went off and killed 12 officers and wounded 27 more. The attack had totalled a 115 dead and 103 wounded. This attack was immediately condemned by the government and they accused radical socialists and drug lords for the attack. How ever the true cause was in reality a drug lord terrorist cell based in Agosto who launched three more attacks that day against the Agosto Regional Police in Doune and Agosto.

That night Don Kijies and his fellow platoon mates worried and wated to be rearmed. They all knew they would soon be deployed in a offensive action against the drug lords known to be in the mountains of Juika. They were all trained the next morning, given their weapons and equipment for additional practice. The vehicles were to be shipped out to Juika Republican Guard Barracks by the Imperial Government early next week. The 75th RG Panzer Grenadiers were given another day of training with the newest weapons availble to them, the got some light vehicles from the local Reserve Barracks as they were being demobilized.

The first day of the next week, a bright Monday in Afrika, the 75th RG Panzer Grenadiers were loaded into helicopters and place. 1,000 TC-1 helicopters were loaded full of men, and another 300 AT-1 transport aircraft were filled with infantry and light vehicles. The initial attack team was consisting of Don's Platoon with his specific squad leading the landing. Five helicopters broke off of the main group and flew well over a drop zone. Men jumped out on ropes dangling down to the ground. They immediately were under heavy fire. Rockets flew right into one of the helcopters, the machine exploded into hundreds of pieces and the men all began to fall burning as they fell. The systems on the other choppers lit up like a firefly. The gatling guns roared as lead and brass flew through the air.

Don's platoon was hist pretty hard by HMG fire when they landed to the ground. One of the mens hand was hit and nearly none of it was left, blood was drenched all over the perfect white snow. The blood startled Don, he hadn't seen it in over a year, it always scared him, but this just traumitized him. Don called up the platoon medic and hoped for a fixing. He then grabbed his picture of his wife, then he jumped up over the snow piles and looked through his scope. The trigger was pulled, but Don didn't exactly feel as though he really killed the man at the other end. He just felt nothing, he pulled again and then switched over to the grenade launcher. Don pulled the trigger, two more times. The grenades made huge explosions throwing bodies every where.

Don picked up his radio and layed down in the ground.

"12,43, 75th RG PG, requesting ART at 13,44 - 14,43 IMM!!!"

"Roger, we got you covered 13,44 to 14,43!"

Within seconds massive explosions ripped through the air. The explosions threw snow every where nearby, covering the men in snow. Don stood up and looked at what he saw. Severed limbs and broken trees, smashed holes in the ground, burning grass, trees, bodies and sandbags. Guns were littered all over. Don called up the radio artillery command to stop the fire. The area was clear, and Don's squad was to move forwar with the rest of the platoon close behind. The first jeeps were dropped nearby and picked up by some 75th RG Panzer crews.

On front wide level the entire area was going forward, the 75th had landed all around the mountains and were advancing into the Jiukaan Valley, where the drug lords were held out. Air planes had bombarded positions all morning and artillery was giving close fire support all over. However Panzer Grenadier divisions aren't exactly designed for non-vehicular combat or mountain warfare for that matter, but it worked. The front Commander, "Horschell Stinider", had congratulated many of the men on good service in dire situations. However it was just the first day of the war that would decide the fate of the Imperial Empire for years to come.

[--Political Shizzit--]

The bomb attacks gave some credability to the the Imperialist cause. The upcoming elections were to decide who would be the Judges in the Imperial Courts. The socialists gained three judges, while the imperialists maintained the same amount of judges, an improvement over losing many political seats. The Emperor just had to live another year for the for the senate to be re-elected, and if the wars continued it would very well mean the socialists would loose the election and give the Imperialists a chance at getting another Emperor.

The drug rate in Afrika was plumiting, so the "Drug Prevention Act" was an actual sucess, or so the government showed. The Imperial Defense Force got additional funding to fight of the drug lords in Juika. This was all fitting to the Imperialists cause, which for the first time in the last year was gainnig power and making a come back. The Emperor passed the "Emergency Martial Law Act" which allowed him to put Juika into complete military control until it was secure and with no major incursions. The police got new jobs for guarding shipping of chemicals and toxins so they should not be stolen again. People were already allowing the Imperial "oppression" become the Imperial "war-time oppression" giving them a huge advantage as Afrikaans completely respected the need for people in war to be strict. The Socialist People's Militia did not grow much more and it seemed to shrink for one week until major recruitment started again. The Socialist People's Militia was deploying all available manpower to the Juikaan Valley to halt all the possible Afrikaan advances. The socialist popularity was nearly 40% while the imperialists populartity was at about 40% too. The people were split down the middle.
