As part of my coming back to NS, I'm desiging a few new items. This is one of the first to be designed:

The new generation of aircraft from Miertech, it gets rid of the old defensive systems and replaces them with new ones. Utilising the VTOL engine from previous models, with slight changes made, this aircraft is very versatile indeed. The GHOSTS allows the aircaft to negate the enemies stealth abilities as much as possible, allowing for easier targetting, while at the same time rendering the aircraft pretty much invisible.

The MAA means that there are a minimum of mechanical parts in the wings, reducing weight and the chance of failure. The PMAS means that any missiles that do get past the decoys that are deployed, have the greatest chance of being dodged at the last moment. The switchblade style wings allow for a variety of roles, though interceptor is the best use for the aircraft.

The blessed chris would like to place an order for 150 such jets to comprise a modern fighter element in its expanding military.

So you have PDEs and other turbofans in this aircraft? Either way, you will have a limited combat range. Mach four is a bit high even for NS. Remember, the movie Stealth was just that, a movie.

$11,000,000,000 for production rights have been wired. Have a nice day.

A further $11,000,000,000 has been wired for production rights, in amendment to our original submitted order.

Thank you for your orders, the plans will be with you shortly.

USSNA: I realise Stealth is just a movie - I just liked the aircraft. AS for Mach 4, meh. I take MT as up to 2010. If you don't like it... ANyway, most people never use the basic stats for their vehicles, only things like weapons and such, so its more filling material for me than anything else - sort of to make it complete.

OOC: Though Stealth did go a bit off the deep end on speed and range (though those were scramjets), it was that pulling out of a 2700 knot (IIRC) dive and somehow staying conscious that really got to me :p

As for this plane, drop the ceiling. 100,000 feet is rare. 100,000m is unheard of even in modern tech and for a simple reason - even an engine like that needs oxygen, and there isn't enough of it up there. Unless you're using a rocket engine, you shouldn't be anywhere near that high. I've seen the max stated for PDWEs at around 55,000m (180,000 feet), and I'd say the service ceiling really shouldn't be much more than 30,000m.

Also, PDWE would be considered by most to be beyond the 2010 timeframe. I'd consider that as more 2020, especially in a manned aircraft.

Additionally, I would advise upping the price significantly. PDWEs will be very expensive, much more so than traditional turbofans, and you should be requiring at least $10-20 million extra for them.

Also, don't even bother claiming armor. It's not just useless on an aircraft, but counterproductive. Most damage that downs aircraft is caused by hits to places that can't be armored, and thus all it really does is take up weight that could go to more fuel and munitions.

Uh ok. I'll drop the armour, reduce the ceiling, but what about the PDWE? I've seen other MT nations using it, so? AS for ceiling I wasn;t sure about the right height to thanks for that.

Just because other people do it doesn't make it ok. And welcome back, Chardonay here!

OOC: most of the ones using the technology consider themselves in the 2015-2020 timeframe at least. Many still consider that modern tech, as most of what could be fielded by then is already in existence, just not mature enough to really deploy right now, or even in the next few years.

OOC: Welcome back, Phoenixius!
IC:

We, the Great Eighth Reich of Witzgall, wish to purchase the production rights of said aircraft for the listed price of $12 billion. If such is permitted, please respond ASAP so that we can begin production once our manufacturing plants are online for this equipment.

Thanks Chardonay, nice to see you again. Same too Witzgall. You've got the go ahead for the production any day now.

CSJ: Thanks for the info - from now on PDWE will be dropped from future aircraft.
