Broken Glass- The Return of the Sultan

Intro: With end of the Sino Jihad, the Sultan was going to return to Istanbul and come home, after leaving so many months ago. Yet nothing was the same, the empire and its dominions were still recovering from the Jihad and were rebuilding it to pre war levels. The scars of the Jihad will still be feeling for sometime in the Imperium, right now the Imperium was set on just trying rebuild itself, and keep a close eye on its new ally and partner of the East Asia Empire. The Sultan was going to face more problems that face the Imperium.. problems could led to the death of the Imperium..

“ When something changes…nothing will be the same ever again.”

At Istanbul International Airport

The Sultan Airplane landed at the Airport at around 11:00 p.m. The Sultan wanted to come home in the dark, so that there were not many people at the airport. He could come in unnoticed and go home unnoticed. The Imperial Black Guard was there to welcome him, and take him to his car. Waiting at his car was the Grand Vizier, he began speaking, and he was wearing his black suit with white button shirt and black trench coat.

“My Sultan, welcome back. Do you truly believe that you can enter Istanbul, unnoticed by the your Grand Vizier…truly my Sultan, did you really think that my Sultan?” ask Grand Vizier Mehmed Pasa Sokollu (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/Ottoman01/marcus.jpg),

The Sultan had on a black ski mask with black sunglasses and had on black gloves. He was wearing a black suit with black button up shirt, and black trench coat. He just walked to the Grand Vizier with his old cane and said

“I know my old friend, I can’t never sneak pass you, old friend .so what’s happen lately to the Imperium, since I have been gone?” ask the Sultan as they walked to his car

“Many things have happen since you left my Sultan. Yet the question has been to asked, are you still..” Ask the Grand Vizier, and then they got into the car. The Sultan started driving the Grand Vizier to his home.

“Yes and no, its difficult at times my friend. Yet I have manger to control it and regain my sanely. Over time…..I have become sane again. If your wondering why I have mask on..its do to the war, I have got burns to my face and left hand…I lost half of my face to the Sino Jihad…only to get it rebuild with clone skin. Thanks to the AMI, they rebuild my face and my hand to what it was before it was burn. But who said the AMI ways are perfect…sure I can move my left hand and move my muscles in the side of my face that was burn. Yet I can’t feel anything from my left hand..its numb..nor can I feel the touch of someone hand to my face…its numb on the sections that were burn and rebuild. I have lost so much my friend; my vision is heavy damage from the fighting. I have to wear these glasses that are design to allow me to see normal, they change from normal glasses to sunglasses, when expose to sunlight they turn into sunglasses. Without them I can’t see and the sunlight causes me great pain.” Said the Sultan

“I see, I am sorry to hear this, my Sultan. Another topic I wish to discuss with you, is the Army of Death still under your personal command?” ask the Grand Vizier

After a long moment of thinking, the Sultan reply
“Yes, I do have command over of the Army of Death, which currently base in Turkistan, being rebuild and recovering from the war. I do not plan to march against the government my friend. It’s my personal command, that’s all it is, I am solider of the empire, and I have duty to defend my beloved Khailfah from attack.. so this these
Units need to be under my command to defend the empire.” Reply the Sultan

“Good to know this fact, my Sultan. Another issue that rose up when you were gone fighting at the fronts, its about the Nova Atlantis colonies are asking for more freedoms and thinking of breaking away from our protectorate…I manger to stop them from completely breaking off from the protectorate agency…I have manger to tell them if would be unwise to break from the protectorate league of nations, ever since their emperor died and the empress took over, the movement for breaking away got the support of most of the government for that nation…and to think that empress is only 20 years old.” Said the Grand Vizier
The Sultan thought to himself for moment (Nova Atlantis… known as the Union of Nova Atlantis league, base in the Southern Indian Ocean, South Africa between Australia…right in the middle of it, all. Its was settled first by the traders from Persia, India and Arabia. Then came the age of imperialism, The British, the Dutch, French and the Germans main colonies on the islands. Which the Island group was basically Indonesia with bigger Islands, but both had the same land mass. The history of the region is complex; over time the British made the entire region their own colony, by kicking out the Germans, Dutch and French. When British pull out of the colony in 1950, they ask the then Ottoman Government to have them join as a protectorate. The Ottoman Government agree and allow them to join the empire and now they wanted to be their own nation..)

“I’ll have meeting with this empress and try to prevent her from doing anything rash.” Reply the Sultan

Then they pull up to the drive way of the Grand Vizier home.

“Very well my Sultan, and this were I get out of the car. Thanks for the ride.” Reply the Grand Vizier, then the Grand Vizier got out of the car and went to home to get some sleep.

By the time the Sultan got his Palace it was about 12:00 A.M. , he just parked his car. He greeted a few of the guards on duty. Then made his way to his family area of the palace. Where he greeted his family, after greeting all of them. He went to bed and slept…he hadn’t slept on a bed for such a long time…tomorrow will being fore the problems of the empire and numbers of meeting will happen.

The next morning, at about nine o'clock, a nondescript black car pulled up in front of the Sultan's palace. Well, as near as possible, what with the guards and everything.

The driver quickly got out, and started to walk around to open the rear passenger door, but before he could the occupant opened it himself and stepped out. The passenger, a tall youth with scruffy brown hair, smiled and cracked his knuckles. "Damn it, Patterson, how many times do I have to say it? I'm more than capable of opening the door myself."

An embassy employee, and thus not used to his passenger's informal tone, nodded nervously. The youth grinned widely and said, "Go do whatever it is you do around here. Be back in a couple of hours."

"You're sure you'll be alright, m'lord?" The youth just looked at him for a moment. Patterson nodded, and hurriedly got into the car and drove off.

The youth stretched his arms in the morning sun, and proceeded to the entrance of the Palace. As he walked to the palace, the humor disappeared from his face, and he became very serious.

When he reached the entrance, the guards stationed there moved to block his way, obviously annoyed at having to deal with some stupid kid. Knowing that English, though spoken here, likely wouldn't be the first language of security troopers, the youth tried Russian.

"I've come to see the Sultan. I'm Alexei Saarad. Sulemain al Bashir was a great friend of my father."

There were about six guards at the gate, they Impearl Black guardsmen. Two Arabs, one Albanian, one Bosnian, one Turk and one Ukrainians…they look at each other with their eyebrows raised.

The Turkish Officers said in Arabic. “ Who is this kid?”

The Ukrainian officer replied in Arabic “ He claims to be Alexei Saarad..”

“Isn’t that the son of Dayan Saarad, and Dayan was killed in the Malkyer Civil War?” Ask the Bosnian Officer in Arabic

“I believe so,…” reply the Albanian officer in Arabic

“Lets call for the Empress to come here and try to solve this matter..” said a Arab Officer

“Agree.” Reply another Arab Officer in Arabic, then he radio in for one of the empresses to come to the front

It was Dune Empress of the Imperium Haziqah bin Bashir (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/Ottoman01/Sh86.jpg), she was gardening in her flower bed, when they call her to the front. She wearing her black hijab, a old light blue coat,a old T-shirt, plus some old jeans and she was wearing white gardening gloves. She walk up the gates ,wondering who could it be at the front gates.

She raised her eyebrow and took at Alexei Saarad and she said in Arabic to the guards

“ Why have you kept the Emperor of Malkyer out here…let him in , at once.” She order them in arabic,to open the gates and they follow her orders. They open the gates..

Then she began to speak the Emperor in English

“Emperor Alexei, it’s good to see ….we won’t expecting you here..so I take it you’re here to see the Sultan?” She asked him

Haziqah bin Bashir, he thought, recognizing her. Dune Empress of the Imperium. They certainly love their fancy titles, don't they?

He stepped through the gates, and bowed his head slightly. He knew Ottomans didn't like to bow, but he didn't care. Let them interpret it how they would. "Empress, your assumptions are correct. I hope I haven't inconvienced you with this unexpected visit?"

“Well , it was unexpected…but your always welcome to stop by…just call ahead of time , next time when your in town. Just follow me, I’ll take you to the Sultan office.” Reply Haziqah bin Bashir

She led him into the palace, and led him thought the many halls of the palace. In till they reach the doors of the Sultan personal office. Haziqah knock on the door, and open it. She only went in, to give the Sultan notice that the Emperor of Malkyer was here to see him. She came back and she told the emperor to go in. When the Emperor enter the room and then Haziqah took her leave and went back gardening.

The office itself was dark and little lighting; do the fact the Sultan eyes couldn’t take much light, since the war has damage his eyes badly. The Sultan was sitting at his desk, which had his desktop on. He was reviewing some files on the protectorates of the Khailfah.. He greeted the Emperor of Malkyer, he was wearing a black ski mask with black sunglasses and had on black gloves. He was wearing a black suit with black button up shirt, and black trench coat.

“Emperor Alexei Saarad, it’s a please to meet you, face to face.. Excuse me.” Then the Sultan remove his sunglasses and his black ski mask, showing his real face, his right side of his face was burn off during the Sino Jihad, he had to thought many medical treatements to get his face back. Yet his rights was more pale compare to his left side, he was getting treatements to get his pigment back to normal.color. That was going to take sometime. He remove his gloves just showing his left hand which was badly burned in the Sino Jihad, but it was petty much fix up by now thanks to AMI Medical treatements. But it had many scars from treatenments, such as pale skin and etc..and for his right hand was realistic prosthetic hand. This was the first the Sultan showed his fake hand to anyone outside of his family. From the time when the emperor enters the office, and now the Sultan didn’t get up. He couldn’t, his leg were bad shape. And he didn’t want to get up with his cane. So he remains seated, and told the Emperor to take a seated.

“So Emperor, what’s begins you here?” ask the Sultan

Even in the darkness of the Sultan's office, Alexei could see that something was not right. Part of the Sultan's face was pale. After a second, Alexei realized that the pale areas were some sort of artificial skin, probably a graft to replace burnt tissue. He knew Malkyeri scientists were working on something similar, but as of yet had had little real success.

Alexei took the offered seat, and spoke. "Sultan, I know you are undoubtedly aware that relations between our nations are not so friendly as they once were. Many people in Malkyer feel, rightfully so, that the Khailfah abandoned us during our time of need. The reason for my visit is two-fold. For the first, I desire an explanation. Nothing more, nothing less. All I want to know is why, so that I can tell the people of my nation, and hopefully begin to put to rest some of the fears of the civil war."

"Secondly, I would like to inquire as to this new status quo, this relationship between the Khailfah and the new East Asian Empire. Your jihad did not go unnoticed, and some of my advisors worry about a new superstate in the East. Of course, my father could have laid such fears to rest, I am sure, but I am not my father."

The Sultan told him the compete tale of events, he told him about the attacks on his late grandfather and him, the attacks on Government officers, the growing theat of a civil war, the pruges and reforms afterwords.

“ So to sum up, its bad idea to have troops that are loyal to you in another county, when everyone else is plotting a coup and civil war. I am still deep regetfully for leaving the loyalist behind…yet we had to do it to save our nation from civil war.. As the new status quo do not worry about it, East Asia is ally now…frankly we are busy rebuilding our nations, we have no interest in conquest of the world. We have a policy to keep to ourselves, beside we are still allies and we don’t attack allies..you have nothing to worry about,Emperor.” Said the Sultan

“Sorry to bother you my Sultan,with your meeting with the Emperor of Malkyer, but she is here. And she’ll will not wait for you to end your meeting with the Emperor..She is alright outside the office..”

The Sultan look at her, as she joking….but he knew she wasn’t, he pour himself some burning hot Turkish Coffee, which serve to the Emperor, and the Sultan. But he could serve it to the Emperor. His secretacy came in and told him. He drank the burning hot shot of Turkish Coffee, which was very painfully and he said the following

“Well, Emperor Alexei Saarad your in for show…your going to see how meeting goes with the Empress f Nova Atlantis.” Remark the Sultan, then he nod for the Empress to enter…then

Empress Alexandra von Ludwig ( http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/Ottoman01/t_small_5.jpg ) enter the room, she was about 21 year old.. She was wearing a green dress, with green overcoat.

“Well, well it’s the Empress of Nova Atlantis, couldn’t you wait a bit, I am in unexpected meeting with the Emperor of Malkyer…” Remark the Sultan in German

“Its matter of important that my nation gets its compete independent from your protectorate union, too long we been under Ottoman and now KLM rules..its time for us to get our freedom!” She reply in German

“It was your grand father that ask the then Ottoman Government for protection from the Cold War powers and we give his nation protection. There was no need for us to send troops to garrison your nation. Plus we invested in your nation greatly… we build up your economy to make a powerhouse of the region…during your father reign as Emperor, we help your nation build up your arm forces to help defend your nation…. and here comes you as the new empress calling for compete independent, when the Khailfah was fighting the Sino Jihad. We didn’t call upon our protectorates for troops during the entire time of war. Yet you stand out and call for open rebellion in the protectorate. Your government is completely independent of ours…all we have a is joint economy and defense system…you have no right to preach rebellion in the Imperium…all I ask is why?” Said the Sultan in very anger tone in German

She stood her ground and said in German” Times for my people to be free of KLM rule, completely..”

Then it dawn on the Sultan, she didn’t know the hell she was doing…he read in the reported about her, she was rush into power, with the dead of her father the late Emperor. She is ill ready to manger a nation on her own.

This time, he spoke English in his British Accent.

“You have no idea what your doing…don’t you. You’re just trying to this and hope all your problems will disappear. They won’t, you’ll out on your own…to face the new foes that would eaten your nation up…admit it, you don’t know what your doing nor have you any idea how to run a empire..” Said the Sultan very annoy

With that the Sultan, manger to shut up her…she didn’t know how to reply…

"Ah. Well, that is something. Thank you." Alexei was about to say something more, but was interrupted by the Sultan's secretary. The arrival of some guest, an Empress no less. The Sultan remarked that Alexei was in for a show, which caused a half-grin to form on the young sovereign's face. The Empress, Alexandra von Ludwig of Nova Atlantis, entered the room. The Sutlan said something in German, to which Alexandra replied again in German. An argument ensued shortly.

Alexei sat quietly, listening to the Sultan and this Empress argue in German. He didn't have his father's proficiency in languages, and only caught about every third word of the exchange. Finally, the Sultan spoke in English, essentially laying a severe verbal smackdown on this Empress.

After a brief moment of silence, Alexei stood, still grinning a little. He bowed his head very slightly, and spoke. "My Lady, you seem to being having a disagreement with the Sultan here. I'm afraid he is right. You're young, you're inexperienced. The world would consume your country and spit out the refuse before you knew what was happening. Leave the job of governing to those who are capable."

Of course, he was only twenty-one himself, but had matured immensely during the horrors of the Malkyer Civil War a year ago. Besides, he knew better than to barge into the office of a foreign leader, and make demands of a nation more than able to wipe him from the map. The sheer naviete of it irritated him.

Then the Sultan got a message on his desktop…

“Well, well , its appears your national government does not share your veiws, my dear Empress.. they are now asking for the Imperium for membership in Dominion system.. Now what should I do my dear Empress, allow your nation compete membership in the dominion…oh what would happen if your nation was enter the Dominions of the Imperium…now I see why you wanted complete independent, so you remain in power..how smart…I should have given you more credit my dear…you are worry what’s to happen you ruling family,…your family has ruling that nation some time..and now you may lose that power..that’s why you’ll doing to safeguard your rule of your nation…why the bloody hell didn’t you tell me this earlier! “ ask the Sultan in English

“I…truly don’t know…why I didn’t flat out tell..” She was somewhat speechless

“Well, we can workout something my dear, now don’t ever go around peaching rebelllion in the Imperium, or I’ll won’t so kind next time around..is that understood , my dear Empress.” Said the Sultan

“It is clearly understood my Sultan, its won’t happen again..thank for you time and I am sorry for peaching such ideas in the Imperium..” She reply and repectful left the room, she knew made fool out of herself

After she left, the Sultan rub his head
“Emperor Alexei, you meet all kinds of people as a ruler of a nation…some smart others are very not bright…so you were about to said something ,before she came.”ask the Sultan

Then something hit the Sultan mind, he just remember something

“ I been meaning to ask, how is rebuilding of your nation. Do you need any more funds to aid your nation in recovering from that bloody civil war? I don’t like ask you this…those bloody Armenian and Jewish Accounts and Bankers at the State Banking Companies are now asking me when the Malkyeri are going to repay the loan of 500 Billion, I told to them to hold off and I said I’ll deal with it. Just give a date for the repayments…so I can get the Bankers and State Accounts off my back…please do not take this wrong. But we need to know when your nation can pay us back. By the way, would you like to stay for Lunch?” Ask the Sultan

Alexei sighed. "The rebuilding continues. I'm afraid it will be several years before Malkyer is up to our prewar levels of economic strength and political stability. The bankers giving you trouble, eh? I'm afraid there's no exact date as of yet, but don't worry. Malkyer repays its debts. I'm sure some gold from the Cape Viceroyalty will find its way into al Musilmeen accounts. I'll have the Finance Ministry work something out with the banks concerning a payment plan. And yes, lunch sounds excellent."

OOC: Sorry about the late reply, famil is visiting and I haven't been able to get to my computer.

“Oh good, now I get those bloody Bankers off my back.. Its good to have you over for lunch, Emperor.” Said the Sultan

The time was about 11:50 am, after having a meeting with the Emperor and bloody Empress. It was time for lunch.. The Sultan got up and put some make up to hide the parts of his face that were pale. After putting on the make up to match his skin color up. He got his cane and got up. He led the Emperor to the dining hall; they went thought the many hallways of the palace. They reach the doors of the dining room; two guards were posted at the door. The Sultan knew that means one thing, the one of the Sultan wives already in the room with the guest. But who is the guest, so he went up to the Guard and ask who was already in the room.

“My Sultan, your wife Dune Empress of the Imperium Roxelane Lisowska bin Bashir (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/Ottoman01/EvaLongoriaX.jpg), High Chancellor Hashmir al Horatius Bin Assad (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/Ottoman01/heaven1.jpg), plus his wife who happens to your wife sister Mihrimar Lisowska al Assad (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/Ottoman01/cordyface.jpg), and your wife other sister Emine Lisowska (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/Ottoman01/bio_landry.jpg), so mostly its your in laws, my Sultan that are here today..”reply the Guard



Then the Sultan rolled his eyes and reply” Oh good…bloody in laws and my High Chancellor…well Emperor Alexei just follow me in…”

One could tell that the Sultan didn't really like his in laws that much..

Then the both of them enter the dining , and were seated

“ Ah, Emporer Alexei it’s a pleause to have you here, so have you visted your grand mother” asked
Empress Roxelane Lisowska bin Bashir

“Yes, its very good to see you, Emporer Alexei.”said High Chancellor Hashmir al Horatius Bin Assad

Then the lunch was sreved , it was Greek food.

Alexei smiled, happy that he did not have in-laws to deal with. He followed the Sultan into the dining room, and was seated.

“Ah, Emporer Alexei it’s a pleause to have you here, so have you visted your grand mother”

Alexei shook his head. "Not yet, I'm afraid. I will have to see her before I leave. I almost wish Mother were here as well, I think the visit might do her some good. And Chancellor Assad, it is a pleasure to be here."

The food was served, and they ate. Alexei remained silent during the meal, speaking only when spoken too, not exactly sure what to add to the conversation.

“Only Morons and Ignorant people think that the Khailfah al Muslimeen is Democracy , there is no such thing as a democracy in KLM, there is only one key policy making body in the complex KLM government, it’s the Office of the Sultan. That’s it everything else is for show. Or just to advised the Sultan. The only check in the system is the JAG courts to counter any laws that the Sultan has pass, they can veto or overrule him. Then you ask why the does the other branches pass laws and make policy, its because the Sultan wants to the people to express their opinion and give them some powers to enact their policy and etc. Yet the Sultan and JAG courts do have the right enact article 12 of the Constitution which states that the following “ The Sultan is the overall rule of the nation, he makes the policy and signs the laws into effect, the JAG courts are the only power to over right or veto a policy or law that the Sultan has enacted. Everything else is only advisedly, yet the Sultan may give the other branches power in the process of laws and policy. Yet the Sultan has the power to take theirs powers away, with the approve of the JAG court. It’s a fail safe within the system within system.” The real KLM Government by Dr. James Maxwell

As the Sultan and guest were eating their meals, a Chinese Imperial Guardsman officer enter the dining hall, and walk over to the Sultan and he spoke to him in Chinese

“My Sultan, your uncle The AMI Fifth Chief Directorate-Dr. James Maxwell (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/Ottoman01/sora.gif) and his two daughters are also here to see you….they are waiting in ….well the waiting room for you.” Said the Guard

The Sultan took a moment to take this in, it was not unusual for his uncle to drop by at lunch or dinner time…but his two cousins…that very unusual.. usually he had visted them in London..but why they are here in Istanbul…something was not right …

The Sultan reply in Chinese

“I’ll be on my way.” He said

Then the Imperial Guardsman left the room, The Sultan had already eaten his lunch by the time the guard had came in. Yet everyone was looking in a weird way…and finally someone spoke

“Since when you start speaking Chinese?” ask Mihrimar Lisowska al Assad

“Yeah when did you learn Chinese so fast?” ask Roxelane

The Sultan smile and reply

“ During the Sino Jihad, one has to learn Chinese to understand what the PLA radar transmission are saying to their troops.. so it took me a few months to Chinese and I was to learn it during my stay in the Eastern Front…” He pause and spoke in Chinese “ Knowing Chinese is good when you want to talk crap about your in-laws..” and he spoke in English again..” Just a greeting in Chinese, no excuse me I have to meet with a key minister of my, Emperor Alexei feel free to stay and make yourself home…good bye..” He said

“ Well…I guess that makes sense..” comment Emine Lisowska

High Chancellor Hashmir al Horatius Bin Assad look at his watch and said to his wife Mihrimar Lisowska al Assad it was time to go back home, Mihrimar and Hashmir were getting up

He headed out of the room, but when he opens the door. The Sultan came to find his mother Mary al Aziz (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/Ottoman01/48-15878-sm.jpg) and the head of the House Petrovic Lady Nataliya Vitalyevna Shaposhnikova (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/Ottoman01/jessica2.jpg) and who happen to be the Grand Mother of Emperor Alexei, they were walking right by the dining hall when the Sultan open the door

“ Mother and Lady Shaposhnikova, what’s beings you here?” He asked, he was hiding the fact, that he was not in the mood to see them at the moment

“ Oh we’ll just here to visited…and have tea.” Reply the Sultan mother

“Well, I must leaving for important meeting a with minister…feel free to stay here for now..” Then the Sultan left and walked down the halls

Everyone but Roxelane and Emporer Alexei had left the dining hall..when the two repect elder women enter the room

Roxelane rose up from Chair and greeted them…she herself somewhat shock to see her mother in law..

“Little Alexei, its been so long since I last seen…my have you grown..” remark his grandmother Lady Shaposhnikova

In the Sultan waiting room, The Sultan Uncle Dr. James Maxwell along with his two daughters was waiting for the Sultan to meet with them. When the Sultan enter the room, he only found his uncle in the room.

“My dear Unlce..why are you here and where are my two cousins?” ask the Sultan

“I send them out to see your rose gardens…beside we have speak about a very important that does not need them in the room.” Reply Dr. Maxwell


“Alright then, by the way Unlce did you see my mother?” ask the Sultan

“No…thank goodness I barely miss her when she came in the palace….crazy bat.. well I am here to discuss the fact you are going to allow Nova Atlantis to enter the Dominion system..good move on your part…but you must disband or dismantle their royal family and disband their noble families titles in the new dominion, you can’t have the old system coexist with the new system…there will be too many different for our system and their system to work..you must disband their system and to appease them have that good for nothing Empress of theirs to become a High Commissar, to just keep them happy and you’ll that key group of Islands in peace..” said Dr. Maxwell

“Of course uncle, your correct I do plan to appease the leaders of their old system by appoint her as High Commissar of the Dominion of Nova Atlanits..but that’s not why you really here…isn’t it Uncle, why are you truly here? Ask the Sultan

Toward the end of the meal, a Chinese officer entered the room and whispered something to the Sultan. The Sultan responded in Chinese. The others seemed surprised to learn that he spoke it, though he explained that he'd picked it up during the Sino Jihad. To Alexei, that was perfectly understandable.

The High Chancellor and his wife left soon after that. The Sultan stood to leave, Alexei guessed to deal with whatever the Chinese officer had told him. When he opened the door, he was greeted by two women. Alexei immediately recognized his grandmother Nataliya Shaposhnikova, though it took him a second longer to realize that the other women was the Sultan's own mother, Mary al Aziz. He stood when the entered, bowing slightly.

"Little Alexei, its been so long since I last seen…my have you grown..." remarked his grandmother Lady Shaposhnikova.

Alexei smiled the way one does when dealing with relatives one doesn't know particularly well, and said, "Yes, Grandmother, it has been some time, I'm afraid. How have you been?"

The Emperor of Malkyer and his grandmother talked for hours on end, and finally left after two hours of talking and finally they left the palace, after their long chat.

“It is best not to piss off the Sultan, and it is common sense not to make death threats to any family member of the Sultan.. Now that’s just stupid, making threats to the Sultan family members…people these days have no common sense.. “ Quoted Dr. Maxwell

Later on that night the Sultan was hosting a major banquet with heads of the Government, AMI heads and political heads of the many parties of the KLM and Dominions. Tonight was very special event, The Sultan was finally going to do something, and he’ll have the chance to do in a long time….

A half-hour before everyone came to the banquet; the Sultan and Dr. Maxwell were already in the banquet hall chatting away about matters that were at hand.

“Well, nephew…you will letting the protectorates of Nova Atlantis and Pacifica…. Nova Atlantis is made up two Great Britain size Islands and as for Pacifica…its loosely about the size of New Zealand…. Why are we overextending ourselves..my dear nephew…you know it well that overextending ourselves will give us problems all the time..ah I see why you want these dominions …to give the Imperium something to keep it busy ..something to kept their minds off plotting rebellions and plotting to overthrew you…how every wise..my nephew.” Said Dr. Maxwell

“Very correct my uncle, we need to keep ourselves busy…with completion of our empire, we need some items to keep ourselves busy…beside I may have to do another purge to remover ourselves of any secret groups that are trying to run the Imperium from behind scenes of Government… I know we already purge these groups before..but I don’t believe we are done yet..these new dominions will be purge for their own good…my standing policy death to all those who lay in the shadows plotting the death of the Khailfah!” reply the Sultan

“Yes, we must do these eliminate elements that threaten the stableness of the Khailfah.. yet I do not know how these new heads of the AMI…are going to handle to agency and her sister branches…they have big job for them to handle.”remark Dr. Maxwell

“Do not worry, These new heads of the AMI will be able to hand the agency without a problem..good thing for Sloan and Bester , I have reappoint them as the heads of the High Guard, they job they would best fitted to do…now for Khan…we’ll see about him tonight..” reply the Sultan with evil gin

“Yup, he’ll be well taken care of….” Said Dr. Maxwell with a evil gin..

Then a Imperial Blackguard officer enter and said “ The Guests are here my Sultan.”

“Good send them,…” reply the Sultan and then they start coming in the room.

Then came in the key government members of the Dominions, Provinces, Parliament, House of Viziers, Presidum, The Assembly of Majles, and Politburo Standing Committee, political heads of the many parties of the KLM and Dominions and after that the heads of the AMI and High Guard enter the massive room. The Sultan just greeted them as they enter the room.. Then when everyone was seated in the grand hall. The Sultan began the meeting of 1st Imperium Congress Meeting, which was to be held once a year…to talk about key matter of interesting in the Imperium.

The Sultan began his speech to the Congress


“Ladies and Genetlemen of the 1st Imperium Congress, a issue has came up within the Imperium, that must be address in this Congress. This issue is…” Then He pause and spoke again “ I can’t not stand for these plots of rebellion against the Imperium…they plot to overtherw the Khaif…me…they plot break regions of the Khaiflah away….or even worse..plot to use the good people of the Imperium for their own goals and take over the Imperium…tonight I will end this ..one and for all..” He stop his speech, to allow to let it sink in and then a large number of Imperial Black guardmens and men dress in black trench coats enter the hall, the men who were dress in black trench, were really the Black Hawks who were picked by the Sultan , to become the Assassin hunters…they are train in how to kill the Assassins in many ways…and they knew the weakness of the Assassins. They existed in secret, away from the eyes of the everyone else these were the systems check to a rebelllion of Assassins.


“And today…I here by kill the plotter of the assassin rebellion, once and for all..” Said the Sultan , and then the Assassin Hunters went to Khan, who was sitting in the tables nearest to the Sultan.

“Sultan you can’t truly belive normal humans can kill me…or do you.” He asked

“Of couse not Khan, I am not that dumb to think these men are trully kill you …so I have your own people do it.” Reply the Sultan


Khan turn death pale and said “ How can you turn my bloody assassins…my own people against me..”

“ Two words Khan… double hypnosis…I knew one day that you’ll try to overtherw..so I had my officers did it to number of assassin…you are right behind you!” reply the Sultan

“What….how dare you taint my people for your own use!” said Khan, then he turn around and saw 10 assassins standing right behind him, holding a four spears line with unqiue bio weapon that’s design to kill a Assassin, with Sultan nodding his head, they began stabbing Khan…he try to defend himselfs but it was in failure, then after repeatly stabbing him. After stabbing him repeated, the Sultan walk up him holding a blade made in India…it was design to give as much pain to the person, who is stabbed with it. The Sultan order his assassins and assassin hunters to hold Khan as he stab him in the heart.

Then the Sultan press a button on the blade, which cause it to open two other blades in Khan heart, the Sultan twist blade in Khan crest…He watch as the life from Khan eyes disappear …after a minute, the Sultan withdraw his three blade knive from Khan heart.

Then the Sultan took a step back and nodded for the Assassin Hunters to remove Khan heart…they march to him and took out a sword …then they cut the damage heart and handle it to the Sultan, who was holding it in his fake right hand. He took at the pulising heart and just crush it.. he nodded his head again, then the Assassin hunter behead Khan…just finally killed him. Then the Sultan stated the following

“Whoever dares to plots a rebellion against the Khailfah will meet the same faith as Khan.. “

Everyone was dead pale and scare for their lives. Then the Sultan began speaking again

And the Sultan spoke again…

“ Its time to meet the new heads of the AMI.” Then the Sultan nodded his head for them to get up and show themselves

Then they went back to meeting and discuss the matters that are at hand of the KLM…

One day after the meeting, the Sultan was having lunch with his new head of the AMI..they were talking about the matters at hand. They were speaking to each other in Persian, the home language for the new AMI head.

“Well my Sultan we found out what happen to those four assassins that were missing in the star gate program…they are got kill and fell into a river, we finally found their bodies… as for all files on Khan have sealed and lock away in the Archives, under your orders…they will not be ever open for now…also all Assassins have been recalled…we are doing once again Imperial Conditioning on all of them…we are most done with reconditioning of all the Assassins, also our deployments of AMI agents in the soon be Dominions is on the way…that’s all I have to report my Sultan.” Said Head of Al Muslimeen Intelligence- Seyyed Zia'eddin Tabatabaee

Also to reorganize the relationship between the AMI and High Guard leaderships the rivalry between the two agencies has died down since the 1980s…yet we are still somewhat distant from each other my prime goal to being a era of new relationship between the High Guard and AMI. Also I am dismiss a number of AMI regional Commissars and appointing new commissars to being in new blood for the AMI…also I am planning to install a number of edits to make sure someone like Khan can’t go under our nose…” said the Head of AMI

Then Imperial Black guardsmen officer enter the room and told the Sultan the following

Then the Sultan nodded his head, and the Guard turn on the TV

“ This Al Muslimeen New Network reporting, today’s headlines is the protectorates of The Union of Pacifica, and The United States of Nova Atlantis have officially become dominions of the Khailfah al Muslimeen.

Then the Sultan turn off the TV

“Well the Union of Pacifica is basically a ex Dutch colonies, the leading parties for that Dominion are the Unionist-Reformist Party, Socialist Progressive Party, Al Muslimeen Social Democratic Labour Party, The Union and Progressive Party and The Bolshevik Party of KLM, the main group is of course of Dutch background. As for the Nova Atlantis, the leading parties are the Union and Progressive Party, Al Muslimeen Social Democratic Labour Party, Socialist Progressive Party and the Unionist-Reformist party…Nova Atlantis is of mix background..its of German, Russian, French, British and Dutch…” stated the Head of the AMI

Then the two went their separate ways. The Sultan went to the meeting of the PSC.

The Meeting of the Politburo Standing Committee (PSC)

“ The Politburo Standing Committee is made up of the true thinkers of the Imperium and they have little humor, bloody asses..” Quoted Dr. Maxwell

The Politburo was in meeting to decide upon following matters the Union between the Union of Eurasia Federated Socialists Unionist States and the European Union. Also they are going a pass series of acts for the two new dominions of the Imperium.


The leaders of the New Dominions were seat in the back, the Leaders of the EU and UEFSUS were seating in the front tables. The Sultan in the front row with a key adviser from his party, as for the Politburo they were seated in the front of the rows. They had court like stands, where they were seated. When everyone was seated , the close doors of the meeting of the PSC began

Then the head of the PSC began the meeting , by saying the follewing

Now let the meeting of the Politburo began. Topic one, The Dominions of the European Union and the Union of Eurasia Federated Socialists Unionist States, wish to form a new union between their states and asking for greater independent from the Central Government., they ask a that new level that is above Dominions to be created for this new state. Let the debates on this began.” Stated Chairmen Naguib Mahfouz


“ I do not support this idea of meagering these two massive dominions under one banner that has more freedom then a standed dominion of the Khailfah. Making this union will cause a state of rival between this union and the other dominions of the Khailfah. I am against this idea of creating a new state that is more independent of the Centeral Governement.” Said General Secretary of PCS-Traian Băsescu


“I second what the General Secretary has stated, if we give more freedom to this new union it will cause great shock to the system and make the other Dominions want to more freedoms. It is not in the best interest of the Khailfah to do this.” said Senator of PSC- Muhammad an-Nimeiry

“Well, I see both of your points are valid, yet here is my idea for this union. Let them become one state, and give them greater independent and call this new level a Commonwealth yet the Central will have only some power over them. This can be the start of series of nations that tire to us, and have strong relationships with their motherland. This nation can have their Arm forces commands, which during times of war, will be run jointly by High Command. The post of High Commissar will be remain, yet their powers will be limited to only have the right to dismiss the leaders of this Commonwealth if they are acting in the interests of the KLM as whole. The primly goal for us is build the world in our image and this is it..We must grant them what they want for the greater good of the state.” Said Senator of PSC-Okuma Shigenobu


“I repect what Senator Okuma Shigenobu has said, but I reject the idea of competely independent arm forces, to even allow these Dominions to become nearly independent states will destablize the Khailfah..I said this…we’ll make both dominions one sister state of the to the KLM itself., meaning a new level will be created for the new Dominion…it will be a compete equal to KLM..Senator of PSC- Mohammad Reza Foroutan

“It is unwise for the Khailfah to give more power to just dominions that wish to make one state, it will cause something like the fall of USSR to happen to us…heavens forbid that could happen, the unity of the Khailfah must remain a constant at all cost. I said give all the Dominions more power over their own affairs, therefore I said do something along the lines of the Protectorate states, we give them more say over their affairs, they still send their ministers to central government and votes on the bills that the government is presented. Yet the office of the dominions affairs will only answer to Politburo and Sultan on matters that we seen to be to amend to work within our system. As for the arm forces command, they will remain as is, as for the Union between these dominions will not happen. “ Said Senator of PSC- Luis Echeverría Álvarez


The Other Senators nodded in agreeement with Senator Luis Echeverría Álvarez, after few more statement and opinions were heard , they voted on the matter, all them voted against the union between the two key dominions and veto any ideas for the creation of a commonweath system. In matter of speaking nothing changed in the system. The leaders of the two dominions of EU and Eurasin nodded their head and repect what their leadership said on the matter and will never bring it up again. They left the room in defeat, but please they got heard by the thinkers of the PSC.

After that the leaders of the new dominions of The Union of Pacifica, and The United States of Nova Atlantis, the members of the PSC given them a long speech about what dominions to expect from the central and about their duty to the Khailfah as whole. The speech also told them what they can do and can’t do..it was a intro speech about their new roles in the Dominion system. After the speeches were over, the Meeting of the PSC was over. Everyone left the room. The Sultan and key adviser were walking out the hall and talking about the meeting and what happens

“Well, its appears that the Dominions as the PSC sees it will not change and they a key stand on that matter.” Said the Sultan


“Of course in the wise eyes of the PSC to give more power to the regional government will cause a chain reaction within the system, that would similar to the fall of the USSR or the decline of the British Empire. Also this is sign of weakness if allow the dominions to have more powers. That’s why the PSC sees it fit that this will never happen. Beside we must the Dominions in line for the good of the Khailfah. The Sultan was working late into the night in his office, reviewing the latest reports about anything that’s happening in the Khailfah. At his desk, there stacks upon stacks of files relating all current events that were happening in the KLM as a whole. It was around 11:30 P.M…. and still the Sultan was reading file upon any news about his nation.

Then the door opened and the Sultan wife Haziqah bin Bashir enter the room, she quickly close the door and said.

“Suleiman Al Bashir II, why are still up this late at night?” She ask him, she was wearing blue silk robe with her blue hijab


“Oh nothing my dear wife…just reading and review some reports about Khailfah affairs..” reply the Sultan who was in deep thought.

Then she took seat front of him, after that she took off her hijab and let loose her black long hair…she took look deep into his eyes and said the following

“Why didn’t the PSC pass the act to created the commonweath and allow the EU and Eurasia to join together?” She ask him

“We can’t allow disunity to happen and we can’t have rivals between the dominions to rise…therefore that’s why they reject the act.” Reply the Sultan

She thought for minutre and reply
“Now really, why didn’t they pass the act?” She ask again

He thought for minute and reply
“The Scars of the Great Second Civil War of the 1948 to 1956…still pains us…we still very paranoid of ourselves…since that bloody civil war..” reply the Sultan

During that time all the regions of the empire broke away and fought for the throne of Sultan..It took Sultan Mustafa bin Asad from 1950 to 1956, to reunited the Khailfah and crushes all the other factions. After that civil war…we couldn’t trust the good nature of the regions.. right after the war, Sultan Mustafa Bin Asad had every regional governor that support the rebellion, which all of them. Beheaded in public, to make sure that everyone understood that never rise up against the Khailfah. From 1956 to 1968, the Sultan impose iron fist rule to restore the Khailfah Government and insure loyal of all the regions. But the memoies of the powerful regions joining together and marching their armies against the Khailfah still pains us..that’s why we can’t ever allow to even appear to happen…never again was our saying, Never again will the West use our own people against ourselves, never again would we allow our people to fight against the Khailfah… that scar is going to last us for long time.Even this recent civil war nothing compare to that years of chaos, where most of the Viziers and Ministers were beheaded by munties troops…all because we were defeated in the Soviet-Ottoman war of 1948, which cause the civil war, do to the fact we lost most of lands in the Balkans, anger officers look their anger against the government and then the Soviets decide it was the prefect time to attack again, just restrating the war….and the western powers began supporting all the nationalist rebel groups…during thoses we were on deaths door…so close from being destory..” Said the Sultan

“That’s explains a lot why our government is paranoid of itself and the local regional government…in matter speaking that explains why we are so paranoid of everyone in the government, arm forces and mainly the outsiders…damn we are very mistrustful of anyone for the fact of matter..” Commented Haziqah

“Yeah..you sum it up petty much…dear.” He reply then he look his watch it was 11:45 P.M. and say the following

“Fine.” She said to herself, and she took seat in his leather chair, which was facing the window towards the courtyard.

The Sultan with a number of officers wearing the black fez, enter the courtyard. Already there was a number of veterans from past Jihads, their ages range from 90 years old to 20 years old.. These were the veterans of the Khailfah..who fought in many wars for the Khailfah, they were here on this night to remember all those who died in the Jihads…to remember the fallen fighters. The Sultan pay his respects to old veterans and then walk to the center of the group and began his speech to them..

“We come from many backgrounds and regions of the Khailfah, we all fought for the Khailfah. Yet, we not here to speak about our deeds that we have done for the state. We are here to remember those who have fallen and give their lives for the Jihad. Tonight we remember the fallen fighter, and remember why we say “Long live the fighters!”. The reasoned we said that battle cry, is to honor our fallen brothers of the Soviet-Ottoman War of 1948 to 1953, and the Second Civil War of 1948-1956. Why honor these fallen soldiers you may ask yourself, it is what they done for the Khailfah , we can’t forget. During that time, our own people were fighting themselves, those soldiers at the front, had two choices, one go back home and fight brothers in the name of their faction or fight to the death at front in the hopes of preventing the Soviets from entering Istanbul, Baghdad, Damascus and the holy cites.. The choice they pick was the choice that saves the Khailfah, they decide to stay at the front. They tried themselves to with ropes so they couldn’t ran away from the enemy. They knew they wouldn’t get supplies or any hope of getting any more troops. They were on their own, they kept on fighting to the bloody death. When they ran of ammo for their guns, they charge with their swords, when they lost their swords…they fought with their bare hands….all 380,000 soldiers of the Balkan Front died for the Khailfah.. thanks to them they manger to stop the Soviet March…by the time loyalist faction troops got to the front to see if they could help their brothers in arm…all they found were dead bodies everywhere…the rivers for northern Rumelia ran with blood of our solders who stopped the Soviet march.. The only real thing that stop the Soviets from destroying us, was a change in leadership with the death of Stalin…but if wasn’t for these men who give up their lives for the Khailfah…. we wouldn’t be standing here… If it wasn’t for those Mujahideen who give up their lives to stop the Soviet march into our lands. They could have gone home and fought themselves, but they stay at the lines and died to prevent a greater threat towards the state. After the Soviet war and we fought to reunited our broken nation, we were bitter that Europeans were supporting that massive rebellions thought the Khailfah…..we wanted revenge for the wrongs…..today also marks Sultan Mustafa Bin Asad “ Never again speech.” In that speech, our Sultan said never again would the people of this Khailfah fight themselves for some outsider interest, never again will we bow our heads to the westerns, never again will we allow ourselves to fight like this again, never again will we be this weak…we will have our revenge against thoses who wrong us. By the time we have rebuild ourselves from the second civil war, we began our jihads against the Europeans, and look us at now, we rule old Roman Empire and numbers of other regions. We have got revenge, but let us not forget those who give their lives to make this happen, Allahu Akbar,LONG THE FIGHTERS!” yell out the Sultan and he pull out his sword , which point it to the full moon

The non Muslim Veterans yell out “ LONG THE FIGHTERS!” and the Muslims Veterans yell out “Allahu Akbar,LONG THE FIGHTERS!” , there was about 200 veterans in the group and all them took out their swords and point it to the full moon.

“Remember this week is to remember our brothers that have fallen for the Jihad, everyday for this week, the veterans that are no longer in the arm forces, will wear the black fez and the ones who still in the arm forces will wear the red fez has sign of repect to the death!” said the Sultan who was wearing his black fez, after that . The veterans left the courtyard and went back to their homes and Sultan to return to his office. When the Sultan enter the officer, his wife Haziqah was waiting for him

“Well..that was must interesting.” She commented

“Yes, its to remember the fallen…lets to go to bed…its 12:30 A.M.” said the Sultan

“Alright, and tomorrow your going to have some events for this week?” She ask him

“Yes, something like that you’ll see.” He reply and then they walk back to their room and went to bed, the next day was going to be eventful with the Veterans from all over the empire coming to Istanbul.

The next day, a massive veterans parade was going to began, all the veterans all from over the Khailfah had came to Istanbul, to take part in the massive parade to honor their death comrades. The Sultan himself was taking part in the parade, since he is a veteran of pass Jihads. Throughout the streets of Istanbul, the Police was out in full force, in the area of the parade route, even the Black Hawks, The AMI Ninth Directorate (Guards) and 1st Imperial Black Guard Division were call out to enforce law and order, and to prevent anything bad from happening. Beside the veterans who were marching in the parade, the Navy core, Marine Core, Paratrooper core, Army core, Air Force core, and last but not least the Black Legion core were all taking part in the massive parade to honor the veterans. Many people line up in the street, to see the Veteran march. The ruling family of the Khailfah and other key members of the government, intell, and arm force officials were assign their own seat in the area, where the parade will end in front of the Sultan Palace.

The Parade began at the outskirts of Istanbul, at 7:00 A.M. The Parade began, the veterans were all wearing black suits, the ones that were active in the arm forces were wearing red fez, and the one no longer in the arm forces were wearing black fez. Their ages range from early 20s to late 90s, they came from almost every region of the Khailfah .They were dividend in-group of what regions they came from, they got ready to march, and they waited for the signal to began the march, that signal was the Mether band to start playing the war songs of the Khailfah. With that signal they started the march to the Sultan Palace. The groups of veterans went by region by region, first region to enter the city was the Asia Minor group, which the Sultan led in, while walking with his cane. On that day there was nearly 200,000 veterans taking part in the parade.

As the Veteran Parade march into the City and headed to the Sultan, Grand Vizier Mehmed Pasa Sokollu was going to give a live address to the nation on T.V., he himself was a veteran of the past Jihads, he was wearing a black suit with a black fez. All over Istanbul, speakers were set up so that the marching veterans could hear him speak. The speech was going to take place, in the front of the Sultan palace and so began the Grand Vizier speech to the Khailfah
“Salaam, my brothers and sisters of the Khailfah, this week is the week we remember the solders of the Khailfah, that fought to the bloody death in the name of Khailfah, we are here to remember who give their lives so that the Khailfah still stands today…we remember our brothers, friends, husbands fathers, and sons who are not here because they went to fight in the Jihads, to insure that the Khailfah still stands today, they help speared they are messengers, who spread the faith of Islam to the world, we must know that they didn’t die in vain..( a tear began to run down the Grand Vizier eyes), even thought we miss our fallen brothers and fathers…we must remember they died for the greater good, and they are now a in better palace…remember brothers they died for the greater good and for the message…always remember this my brothers and sisters of the Khailfah…never forget our fallen solders! For those our loyal subjects of the Khailfah, who are not Muslim and yet you still fought along side us…your husbands and your sons have done a great deed for the state. We thank you kindly for what you have done, we the past Khaifs have always said, we never turn our backs to people who ask us for protectorates from those who are attacking them and killing them. Many groups came to us for protectorate and repaid us by fighting along side us, you will not be forgotten or think less of us, we thank you dearly for you joining us in the Jihad. Allahu Akbar,LONG LIVE THE FIGHTERS!” said the Grand Vizier with tears running down his eyes and the then the address was over and the he dissappear from the T.V. sets of the Khailfah, the only resoned why he was starting to break down. Was the fact he lost two brothers in past Jihad, which he fought side by side with. He watched them died, it still pains him greatly.


After the speech, the people just watch as the Veterans march down the streets heading towards the Palace, they were holding their banners of their divison, their home regions, and what Jihad, they had fought in. Most of the older veterans began crying as they heard the speech of the Grand Vizier, inculding the Sultan was trying to tear up in his eyes. They just kept on marching down the streets, carring their banners making sure the people remember the past. The young veterans wonder why their elders were crying at this time of pride and glory…they were too young to realize that glass of the mirrors that made up their minds, were broken by the Jihad, they had yet to realize the effects of the Jihad, had to them…a saying of the elder veterans, “ The young ones do not understand what has happen to them…it will take time for them to understand why we cry on this day, then to look forward to it, we hate the days as they come closer to us. Give it time, they will be realize the broken glass of their minds…” with the Veterans just kept marching down the street, it appear to be sea of black and red fezs for the longest time…this was the week to remember the lost brothers, husbands, friends, and sons who died for the greater good…it was not meant to be a happy time, it was truly a sad week of mourning lost soilders who would never come home again.
