Damascus, capital city of Arabanistan

At the Ba'ath Arab Socialist Party (BASP) HQ building in Damascus, Arabanistani President and BASP Chairman Hafez al Assad was in a meeting with leading BASP officials and regional governers as well as members of the intelligence services.

The meeting was an emergency session to deal with a crisis that the Arabanistani intelligence services had uncovered.

Certain BASP members, most of them middle ranking military officers and some senior BASP functionaries and civil servants had been exposed in their plans to work against the government, to oust President Assad and to destroy the Arab Revolution and the great advances of the BASP.

Not only was this plot large and had it not been exposed, capable of success, it was also revealed that the nation of Halberdgardia was behind this plot.

The intelligence services gave detailed accounts and evidence of communication between the Halberdgardian Central Intelligence Agency (HCIA) and the traitors and plotters. The HCIA had provided data, money, contacts and communication equipment to the traitors, to ensure that their treason would be a success.

At the end of the meeting, the majority of the BASP communicated their loyalty to the Arab Revolution, the BASP and to the Great Leader, President Assad.

Upon that, President Assad informed the security forces to purge the BASP of anyone who did not show sufficient loyalty to the government and anyone who showed signs of suspicious behaviour or anti-BASP and anti-national sympathies.

President Assad also ordered that all of those arrested, a total of 4367 people, would be executed.

The President then made his way to the conference room, where he would address the nation, the international community and also send a stern warning to the terrorist nation of Halberdgardia.

4.) The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Arabanistan (RAFA) are now on Level 2 security alert and are now fully prepared for ANY act of foreign and imperialistic agression. Likewise the BASP militia, the Popular Army is also on full alert and will fight to the death, any enemy that dares attack us.

In response to your question on how Arabanistan intends to enforce our three JUST demands, Arabanistan hopes that common sense and sanity will prevail in the minds of the Halberdgardian government and that they will take these demands as a correction of a very HUGE mistake that certain elements of the Halberdgardian government made.

If however they refuse to comply and take a irrational approach to this issue, then Arabanistan will engage the international community to isolate Halberdgardia and to blockade the nation by sending naval fleets to international waters that will stop ALL trade and weapon supplies from going to or from Halberdgardia.

Of course, Arabanistan is a peace loving nation and thus we hope it does not come to that, but if Halberdgardia refuses to listen to the will of the international community, then that is what will happen.

In light of your first message that you made, do not dismiss our claims for they are TRUE.

In a cold airconditioned room in Sierra Visions Inc.'s Campus programmers hit their terminals and began to work. With a unified ping of nearly all of the computers in the campuses the servers at several major stock exchanges lagged. During this interval a handshake protocol was sent to enter into the server, however the handshake bounced and another wedge program was sent it. It opened several ports and another ping arrived. The servers lagged harder, straining to fill the requests. Persons on the floor of the stock exchanges noticed a slowdown in their requests. Quickly the workers bought up every Arabanistani Dinar that every existed 4 times over. The lagging servers didn't notice as they struggled to process what was happening. The dinar's value shot through the roof and investors quickly cheered as their dinars suddenly became worth several dozen dollars. Then another series of pings were send, the open ports exploited again. Soon every dinar that existed was sold, then sold again, then sold again, then sold again and sold again. Its value plunged. Rapidly, investors paniked and sold their dinars before they were worth a few cents. The wedge deleted itself, the ports were left open, and then the servers were hit by a worm. It tore through reports, causing a mild interrruption in trading. Investors wondered who bought so many and then sold it, but the ruined hard drives only spoke of several puppet corporations that Leafanistan controlled or had a majority stake in as having any sort of activity. The programmers left their rooms and went out for some beers.

For the next few years the Arabanistani economy would be in chaos.

OOC: There is a way out of this, recall the dinar and start burning a lot of them to increase their value then peg to another currency and revalue it.

Forgot to mention, it would take about 12-24 years for the dinar to return to its value if nothing is done now but if you do stablize the dinar you could hasten the time possibly by 2/3rds if you act firmly. However foreign companies will be scared for a while and the economy will take a blow for years to come.

I would like applaud the efforts of Lefanistan programmers, and wil lbe sending them a life supply of beer..

President Friedman was sound asleep in his bed when the Red phone rang, its obnoxious ringing sound carrying across the entire room, the darkness of the presidents bedroom was dispelled when he put on a side lamp picking up the phone he glanced at the time…it was late;

"Yes?" he said rather sharply.

"Arabanistan again?" He said with a sigh; "First the nuclear crisis, then they try and buy stealth bombers and NOW they're threatening to blockade a peaceful nation?" he said in sheer exhaustion.

"Wake the cabinet, we shall deal with this threat once and for all, The War games shall have to wait" he said putting the phone down and getting dressed.

Several men and women sat around a long grey table including the greying Mr Fisher Animarnia's director of intelligence. "You don't look happy Sam?" he said to the rough looking man whom it appeared had not taken any sleep for 2 days.

"No Mr President, this is a serious issue, the Arabanistan Government accuse Halberdgardia agents of trying to overthrow there President" he said in his usual gruff town of voice.

"Is it true?" the president asked.

"Halberdgardia flatly denies it sir and I'd be inclined to take their word over an unstable dictator" replied Fisher; "the Arabanistan Government has also started murdering thousands of civilians suspected of being part of the coup" Fisher added a moment later.

The president did not look happy, he did not want to take his nation into war but Arabanistan aggression recently had been increasing steadily. "I took an oath to protect our people and our allies…is war with Arabanistan the only way to keep my word?" he said.

"I believe so sir"
"Very well then, if it is war they want, war they shall have, we shall not start this war but by god we shall finish it", he spoke to almost no one but everyone in the room was paying attention.

"Send an official message to Arabanistan, tell them that they are to back down immediately and apologise for their unfounded accusations against the good name of Halberdgardia, disarm there nuclear weapons and stop the slaughter of innocents or face dire consequences" he said.

"Send a copy to Halberdgardia and inform them we will back them in any way, Generals I want war plans on my desk in the hour, let us hope diplomacy can prevail but if it comes to a fight, Animarnia shall fight"

Speaking of the Valiant, I've decomissioned her, restored her, and put her on display as a museum piece at the port city of Coronet (not my Saharistan port, but the mainland one of the same name). Millions of citizens from all across my country have come to see a piece of history. :p

I find it somewhat strange that a nation stating itself to be revolutionary is conducting such a reactionary thing as stopping a revolution if it is to come about. The Ba'ath Arab Socialist Party, while containing somewhat skewed and religious views, may be attempting to lead a vanguard against the obviously reactionary 'capitalist monopoly state of Arabanistan.

I suggest - and this is my personal opinion - that the Araban administration cease using the great title of revolutionary in anything to do with their policies. The nation of Arabanistan is - if anything - a Stalinist empire riding on the backs of the peasantry that they continue to oppress.

In regards to your economic warfare post I’d like clarification as to why it is not a god mod, based on the following points of confusion.

1) Did you contact your target before hand oocly? I know that this is not immediately relevant to god modding but considering the unconventional nature of the post I was wondering if it warranted exception.

2) Have you ascertained that his currency is publicly traded? This might seem like a silly question as it is a reality of the modern economic world but I ask because so many models of society exist on NS. This, to me at least, also raises an eyebrow because he is RPing a Muslim nation and Islam has strict rules about money flow. I will admit I am still learning about it but I am not sure an Islamic theocracy could abide buying money for the sake of money based on the tenants of the Shari.

I know I for one am RPing a nation who has until recently (the inception of this account) been totally isolated from the world. Later on I was going to RP creating a stock exchange because my feudal society does not yet have one. So theoretically no one can buy my currency as it is based solely on the gold standard and brooks no investment.

3) Is this even feasible given the size of the NS world economy? I realize that this would be a devastatingly effect attack on any third world nation in RL but the way you phrased it points out the inherent flaw here.

Assuming the above points to be moot and that you have easily bypassed the security on several world exchanges. (Something that is a feat in and of itself) The word several is my hang up. “The world contains 112,586 nations in 14,452 regions.” If even a tenth of those are large nations that would still leave more than eleven thousand nations, all with independent exchanges, actively trading in the currency.

I guess my question is how you can assume that these other eleven thousand exchanges would not compensate for what you have done. Would not the assumption of all variables in your favor constitute a god mod? I mean no disrespect, seriously. I am just doing a lot of forum reading and it has been easy for me to spot the obvious cases of godmodding, I just want to know why this one is not.

4) I guess my last point is that your action offered him no time to react. In a war scenario you would have to leave room for a counterattack, as the world moves in real time firing takes place simultaneously. While you were devaluing his currency would he not have a treasury board or central bank monitoring it? My point being that he would probably halt trading. Yes he’d still take a bit of a hit mind you but exchange closures have many real life precedents.

Willink Warships sitting of the coast began to commence operation 'Kill Jihad'.

They began to launch Tomahawk cruise missiles at the enemy Radar and sam emplacments, while willink Nuclear attack subs crept into the port, launching torpedo's at the Arbanian ships.

Willink TU-160's began to fly over Arbanistan and drop their payloads on military installations and air bases. 2 Lavi fighters were shot down due to AAA fire and SAM emplacements, which were fired at by Willink fighters armed with ALARM anti radar missiles to dissable the enemies use of tracking Willink's planes. The TU-160's Cruise missiles flew in at enemy ammunition and military factories, and they dropped fuel-air bombs on enemy military installations.

Losess: 1 bomber crashed in ocean due to damadge, 3 fighters shot down.

I wanted to use this thread to create a type of NS cold war, where the SWC and Arabanistan are hostile, but NOT at war with each other.

When we do go to war in the future, this thread will be a good background story to the war.

OOC: This is exactly what I want, sabre waving and tough-talking. What diplomacy is made of. I could create another nation to help sell weapons to you to start an arms race.

We would like to make it clear that Arabanistan violated Kjata Major's trust and the ongoing plan of isolationism is a clear threat to Kjata Major. Possessing already nuclear technology and now hiding away from the world has been a dangerous practice of our enemies. Arabanistan must let Kjata Major's technicians into the nation to monitor the use and development of nuclear weapons.

The Empire of Kjata Major feels clearly threatened with past problems having come from the terrorist state of Arabanistan. As a method of dealing with terrorist nations with nuclear technology we reserve the right to defend ourselves from possible attacks that have been hinted at previously with our international community of fellow supporters that Arabanistan should not possess nuclear weapons. Taking this action as a indirect declaration of war upon Kjata Major and other supporters have more then raised suspicions of Arabanistan's intent to use nuclear technology.

Furthermore Arabanistan's crimes against humanity has more then crossed the limit for Kjata Major. Denying your people communication is akind to cutting off education for the Serfs so that they don't learn how to read and write. Your people will be unable to learn and function or see the government for what it truely is. Such actions are deemed 'Crimes Against Humanity' and is reason enough for a religious state to declare crusades to change your government and power of the people.

Kjata Major is likely to declare war on Arabanistan unless the following are corrected immediately.

1. Foreign Embassys are reopened.
2. Inspectors from Kjata Major to ALL nuclear sites at any time and place
3. Civilians are restored their previous rights
