Plan Ceaseless Defender Secret IC:

Star base 82 HT/ TFU border, over 3500 ships were looming over the station In a glorious formation over the large gleaming grey white star base ,the ships were under command of Newly promoted admiral Robert McNamara, he was sitting on the bridge of the USS Cobalt a newly built Sovereign class star ship, the Enterprise J was also present. The massive fleet of ships was fallowed by 50,000 fighters and 15,000 fighter bombers. Mission state meant secret IC:
Old telegram style beeps beep beep:

[message begin]Message to the fleet form admiral Tomas Harris, some times the best defense is an offense , we all know that some times, right now to keep the enemy on the defensive is very important, so they wont make it to our home shores so to speak, these massive fleets are gathered hear to day , to launch attacks on 4 enemy systems mainly lightly defended and low key, this operation needs to be a success, right now we have 2000 ships designated here for attacking 4 systems 500 ships and 15000 fighters a system, the other 1500 ships are meant for attacking enemy supply lines and supply depots. We must make this operation a success I don’t expect you to hold this line but I expect to hold a few systems we have troops transports on the way as well about 8000 of them, that is all good luck and god speed!” [/message end]

With in moments of that speech ships began warping out, massive flashes of white blue lights whooshed across the void of space , heading towards several lightly defended enemy systems they warped in just out side of those systems there energy profile keeping low there weapons un powered and shields down, making sure they Wouldn’t be detected.

Mean while several fleets were poised to attack supply and shipping lanes with in the nation hopefully this will all go as planned but they were not invincible to detection.

On the bridge of the cobalt McNamara, was sitting on his bridge chair, addressing and looking over some of his pads and star charts sighing “well….. I guess we better wait see if there’s any activity in the system, con prepare a Mk III Stealth probe make sure its not detected, and make sure its sending on a very narrow and low frequency encoded to we might not get much data but any thing is worth it ” with that a small burst of light launched out of the cobalt’s tube, the light turned black and cloaked as a grey almost sputnik / Protoss probe looking thing disappeared, in to the darkness is moved in quietly to the system visually scanning the planets in the system, also scanning with remote passive sensors enough to get some viable information but not enough to be traced. Now it was time to wait for information, the ships quietly hidden behind asteroids and other naturally occurring scan obscuring events. The fleet was pretty spread out so they could not afford to be detected attitudes were tense hopefully this would work.

OOC No offence, but you can NOT hide 3500 Capital ships in one location. You would have problems hiding that many ships designed especially for Stelth, also, what nation are you attacking? it doesn't say.

Friendly advice from your Friendly Neighbourhood Emperor of North Africa.

OOC: TFU, are you attacking me? If so, know that none of my systems are lightly defended, and I don't really have that many of them. I control a lot of unpopulated agricultural and mining outposts, used to bring huge surpluses of goods into the Realm, for when I may need them, and the rest of my systems are deathtraps... Oh, and 3.5k ships?! Along with over 50k fighters? Either your ships are of the cardboard variety, or that's definitely your entire fleet...

OOC: I do have more ships than you; I just don't have to hide them because I have no qualms about being proclaimed evil; unlike you, who seeks to be light even as he falls to darkness and apathy.

OOC: Chrono's a third again as big as you. Of course he has more ships. Oh, and if your ships are small, fair enough. I was thinking 5000 ubzor Star Destroyers, like most nations these days. Sorry.

(Can we go on with the RP?)

OOC: Are you or are you not attacking me? You still haven't stated who you're attacking. It might be me, it might be Chronos, it might be Unified Sith, we don't know. I'll RP an intro, just in case it is me.

IC: Admiral Piette was a solid, sturdy man, one not given to flashes of inspiriation, but a sound tactical mind nonetheless. He had begun organising the defense of the Outer Colonies, seeing as the Inner Colonies had FTLi fields, and had instantaneous travel between them, so it was doubtful anyone would attack them, seeing as they were essentially all linked.

He was in command of Barichka, a small, fiercely loyal industrial world, one that produced large amounts of computer equipment. A mere four million people resided on Barichka, but the machinery essentially ran itself, the people were there for emergency repairs only.

He had set up the ground defense first, seeing as the Unionists could blockade the planet, but it would be hard for them to take it, and, if they killed innocent people in their quest to stop the Realm killing innocent people, that would make them no different. No, the Union would either blockade the planet, and invade it, or bypass it completely, and leave a fortified production world behind them.

He only had six ships, nothing to an entire battlegroup, but the Realm had little in the way of ships at the moment, as it was churning out defensive platforms at a ludicrous rate.

His two cruisers, single destroyer, and three frigates were enough to defend against a small Union fleet, but the actual fleet itself was preparing for an invasion, but it really didn't matter. Behind him was sixteen mammoth defensive platforms, decked out just like dreadnoughts, and, near those, fifty-four cruiser-like platforms, accompanied with four thousand defensive satellites, the equivalent of fighters. Of course, this fleet couldn't move, nor could it land, which were, of course, the two main expenses in building actual ships, the lack of these nearly halved the cost.

He also had a Drone Carrier, which had a thousand drone-fighters (Essentially a small bit of metal, with engines, a targetting system, and a gun slightly more powerful that your standard energy rifle)

He was prepared. He had no doubt the Unionists would strike here, as this was one of the most undefended worlds, as not all the platforms and satellites were fully armed, and he may be caught with his pants down, if they were quick to strike.

He smiled, grimly this time, and looked out at his thrown-togethor fleet. Hopefully, it would hold. He didn't want to be the first admiral ever to lose a Realm world...

"And so; as usual the flies prepare for war, as to avoid the wanton boys and instead infest us like sweet meat; but we are not to be tricked; are we?" Marcus turned upon his great throne, to survey the sons who bowed before him; each loyal to the Gods, in one way or another.

"My Children of my flesh; my Primarchs. We stand at the dawn of an era. The Imperium shall rise and grow; we shall expand across the fetid and decayed borders of our enemies; we shall crush one and all who oppose us. Who was ever so great as to defy the Ruinous powers! Who was ever as truly powerful as the Gods of Chaos!"

He chuckled softly; rising from his throne. "Rise, my children; rise and let the new era dawn." he reached to one side; a golden adornment lifted and placed over Remiel's shoulders. "I invoke within thee, the right of Warmaster; that you shall lead my armies and smite my enemies, till the ending of time." He placed a hand upon Lucians shoulder "You, I annoint my left hand; my destroyer, that you may bring death to all who question our ways." And now to Cabot; whose forehead he pressed his dark lips to. "Upon you, and all your brothers, I bestow my love; the blessings of your father, to guide you through the darkness."

"We serve you, now and forever; obedience without question, from here till Immaterium come."

"Excellent. Then ready the fleets of war."

"We do as you command, Lord" The Fabricator general, borne upon a hovering throne, came before the sight of the Daemon Emperor. "My Lord; each forgeworld is ready to increase production; each fortress world of our empire is readied. The first Titan Legions are ready to advance, and whole legions of Skitarri stand at your disposal. All the might of the Adeptus shall serve you, blessed Omnissiah."

"You serve me well; your order shall be rewarded its aid in our time of need. You shall be the first to taste the technology of the Union, while my sons and I dine in the ashes of Terra Prime."

"You are too kind, my Lord."

"Indeed; now go; leave us. We have plans to make. Bring me victory; we shall raise monuments and temples to victory and the Gods on every world we sunder; we shall carve the names of the faithful into the very stone; we shall enter the names of the fallen into the book of Honor! Toll the Great Bells! Let battle be joined; let Chaos be brought....THis war of Faith is granted its course; lets the heretics burn in the slaughter of the innocents..."

"Sir, we seem to have an anomaly!"

The Admiral scowled. He hoped it wasn't a dangerous one, as he didn't really like danger. "Well, what is it? Tell me, quickly?

"Well sir, a piece of space appears to be not there. I think it's either a dangerous Parithian Hole, capable of destroying this entire system, or a cloaked unit of small size."

"Well, what are you waiting for. Zap it!"

"Yessir!"

A tiny blast of energy, miniscule, perhaps not enough to be seen, went out of the ship. Although it was small, and dark, it would short-circuit the entire enemy...well, whatever it was, and make it visible, until perhaps a few seconds later, when the cloaking resumed. He would then scan the craft, put it on record, and, hopefully, chase it off.

"All weapons and shields on standby!"

The aide rolled his eyes. It wasn't like he hadn't had the weapons on standby for the past ten minutes, but, procedure had to be followed. They didn't want a prosecution, did they now?

The probe self destructed with an anti matter blast, that singled the entire assault to begin , the fleet broke off from hiding and rushed in at extremely fast speeds the massive enterprise J targeted its very advanced phaser arrays and torpedoes at several enemy instillations.
McNamara sent out “Being the assault! All ships fire!” with that multiple ships rushed in front top bottom and front firing phasers and torpedoes thousands of torpedoes and phaser beams rushed out of the ship the enterprise J fired its massively powerful arrays its red non liner phasers able to slice through tough shielding and amour, the assault on the other 3 systems had begun to McNamara was command the assault on the 2nd system while the others were commanded by field captains, the order came down from admiral Johnson to use the new white hole torpedoes, and the instlation busters, with that order…

The USS Berkley and the USS Gemini maneuvered crisscrossing each other firing there phaser arrays, launching white torpedoes over 10 of them form each ship the gloriously whooshed in front of enemy ships, the other ships rushed around with the support of thousands of fighters they began foreign phasers torpedoes meson blasters proton, reaper and photon cannon fire filled the sky, the colors of blue, white , yellow crimson orange, red, green filled the dark void of space.

Excelsior class ships, galaxy class ships akria class Norway class saber class ships ambassador class ships , marida class ships all sorts of classes were doing a coordinated attack on every enemy shi[ surrounding the enemy fleet and firing massively powerful weapons and torpedoes, long range super torpedoes were launched at enemy plat forms, meant to take out huge instillations these things zipped at enormous speed passed the glorious blaze of fire federal ships were putting on across saucer section bows towards the nearest enemy defensive plat forms.

(
New technology notes:
Type XIV Phaser system This new type of phaser is more advanced and more powerful that Type XII arrays its meant for taking out Two kilometer and above capital ships , its power full beams can slice through shields and hull like a red hot knife through butter

New torpedoes :
The newest and most powerful torpedo to be equipped on star ships shortly will be the white hole torpedo, the projectile has a white Aura around it when it strikes its target the resulting explosion crates a micro white hole for a few seconds when the white hole is present heavy damage to enemy shields and hull will occur.

"Sir, a platform is down!"

"Damnit! Open fire! Activate Signal 6653-X. Maybe we'll get reinforcements, they don't appear to be jamming us!"

A single, mammoth platform exploded in unglorious red fire, which was put out by the deadness of space. It split in half, and began to dissolve into nothingness, as to not hurt the planet below.

Many more began firing energy torpedoes, ontold thousands of missiles, as the huge, well-armed platforms began unleashing their deadly payloads. They would make the Unionists pay dearly for invading their space, today.

"Activate the planetary shield. We'll need the extra shield energy, it should give us the edge, as they don't have anything like it, without a planet to base it on! Maybe we'll win this thing after all!"

The Drone Carrier unleashed the ten thousand drones(I had a typo earlier, meant ot be 10k. Don't take much damage from them, as they aren't really altogethor that powerful.), firing tiny red blasts out of their singular cannons, all aiming at the Enterprise-J, as the shield wavered, and came into view. It absorbed most of the blasts thrown at it, and probably would, considering the fact that it had over six hundred huge generators on the surface, harnessing the huge amounts of geothermal energy at the planets core...

The satellites began falling like flies, as the shield only blocked phaser blasts, and torpedoes, but the missiles locked onto the unshielded satellites, and destroying them, each exploding in a single fiery red flash, and then ceasing to exists.

"Damn! Damn! Damn! We didn't cover the satellites! Their missiles will rip them apart! We need those for the later stages of the defense! Order all railgun units to shoot down incoming missile, now!"

Thousands of tiny guns began blasting away at the missiles, with little success, but slowing the casualty rate somewhat.

(OOC: I'm a stickler for tradition, and automatically assume that defenders have the advantage, much as they did back in the Middle Ages, and today. My shield is the equivalent of a castle)

"Sir, they seem to have a few types of weaponry which nullify parts of our shield temporarily! They're getting through, although the shields are probably countering 75% of their fire, we're losing craft too quickly! We didn't have time to activate the NullShields, and we're paying dearly for it now!"

"Well, prepare to pull all ships back into the shield. I want to cause maximum casualties before they reach the planet!"

Admiral Bebaus brought his fleet of about 3,000 ships out of normal and into plane space. It comprised of 500 Frontline vessels, 2,000 Guardships, and 500 attack vessels. His fleet was also accompanied by the Gantoush supply fleet.

Admiral Bebaus reclined lazily in a chair looking out over space time particles as they passed by. His twin brother Nareece entered the room, who also happened to be his Chief of Staff. "Well brother, it looks like you get to fight again for the glory of the Empire. Now I do hope you don't decide to take a bath in the middle of a battle like you tend to do from time to time. Well Nafie, do you know what you are going to do when you join up with the Union's ships?"

Admiral Bebaus rolled his eyes as he looked at Nareece "We'll just fit in where ever needed. I don't intend to let any of our men fight ground battles. They can use our ships for air superiority but that's as far as ground warfare goes. If we need to get involved then we'll just take our normal approach. Either the defenders stand down, or we blow away a piece of the atmosphere."

Nafie smirked "So I guess that means I don't have to worry about you doing anything stupid if that means that the allies will be in command."

Nareec stood up "I still have command over my own men and that goes for you also. I didn't say we would fall under submission to anyone. Now get back to work. We'll be joining up with them any moment now. I need to be alone to think."

"As you wish, brother." Nafie left the room to oversee the battle preparations.

thousands upon thousands more of the missiles poured out form long range ships while the fleet started to hide behind the planets in the system to keep from being shot at one of the ships rushed forth it was a phobos class missile ship, it carried a s Mk 10 shield busting torpedo (it should bust your shield down but I’m going to lose the ship, the ship got very close to the enemy shield about to launch its torpedo, the torpedo flew out just leavening the ship when …. ( you have to shoot at it )

mean while smaller federal ship[s were burning husks of hull flames engulfing hellishly small ships very few heavy capital ships were lost., but the one that were hit that were in flaming glory as there dead hulls drifting to the dark void of space

[Shield at 76% and holding. Incoming unknown projectile]

[Projectile inbound, failure to hit. Shield temporarily disabled. Geothermal power cores overloaded, switching to secondary power. Disabling power across the planet. Routing power into shield]

"Damn. We'll need at least ten minutes for the geothermal coolers to activate fully, and that's if we're lucky. We'll need to configure the shield to protect against those things."

The Admiral, a scowl blackening his face, looked at the hapless technician standing next to him, who was frantically working on the problem.

The technician spoke up, in a small, frightened voice. "Sir! We've got the shield online from the rerouted power, but the rerouted power isn't ideal for shielding, and is somewhat corrupted. I'm projecting that approximately 35% of their projectiles will get through, until we can get our main reactors online. We've still got a single geothermal reactor online, unfortunately, this planet doesn't have very many of them. If we were in Yariska..."

The Admiral cut him off with a sharp statement "Idiot! In Yariska, they'll be fine. They'll win their battle easily, and maybe even send some reinforcements. However, this isn't Yariska. Focus on what's here, and now!"

[Shield at 14%, and holding. Secondary power is impure, shield is unstable]

He sighed, and typed in a sequence. TEDFAVRH-88XX3432^

A blinding flash of light emitted from the ship, temporarily disabling the shield, and obliterating all the missiles inbound. If he was in a proper defensive fleet, he'd've had twenty or so of these, instead, he has used one of his two. He sighed again, and hoped for the best..

If the Unionists somehow got men on the planet, there was no doubt they could destroy the poorly defended reactors, seeing as he'd chosen to fortify the processing plants, and only sent about fifty or so men to each reactor... Damn! He typed in a message, straight to the planet. Now that he'd shut down the power, it'd be hard for his men to get to the reactors to fortify them..

He only hoped he wasn't going to be too late...

Admiral Bebaus's fleet rendezvoused with the Union fleet as an enormous flash of light appeared, destroying all the Union's missles.

Nareece stood and drew his command saber "Inform our allies that we have arrived to help with the battle. I want the Frontlineships to prepare for mine attack. I want all areas covered with our mines. Set Guardships in a defensive line. I don't want anything getting thru. I want the Basroil attack squadron to fly air cover and tell her Highness not to get shot down this time. The flagship,Sankue will position itself in the center of the formation. I want the supply ships in the back, away from all this."

Nafie looked wide eyed at his brother "Well look at who is actually acting like a commander."

Nareece turned to regard him "I have always commanded this fleet and I do an exceptional job. Now carry out my orders."

The 500 Frontlineships readyed themselves for mine attack. The front of each ship opened up into fourths making it look like a cross. Each ship was capable of launching hundreds of mines.

The Guardships setup defensive positions infront, prepared to shoot down any return fire.

The attack vessels flew cover, prepared to deal with any fighters in the area.

The Socialist Republic will gladly send whatever nonmilitary aid it can to the Realm of Hyperspatial Travel, but will avoid active battlezones and decline to participate in hostile activities.

OOC: I'd love to give you a hand, but Xanthal's military is defensive, and I don't acknowledge the military power of The Fedral Union and thus cannot engage in military conflicts with him. I don't have a stance on The Humankind Abh, having never really played with him or looked at his fleets, but based on hearsay I'm betting the same policy applies to him, too.

OOC aside: The Abh rule, but their power (as told in Seikai) is too great to be practical for NationStates. I use their ships and technology, but with slight modifications and in much smaller numbers. The Humankind Empire has in excess of five hundred trillion citizens, several galaxies, and a fleet at least hundreds of thousands strong; more likely millions. There is no nation in existence that can realistically make those claims in NationStates.

OOC: I'm so glad that someone knows about seikai on here. Yes you are right. The Abh Empire would be far to grand for Nationstates considering that they controlled about half of humankind. That's why I don't have as many fleets as the anime does. I keep it down to about 7 fleets and admirals. Each fleet is about the size of the Bebaus's and you'll find that if you RP with me that I take casualities.

As far as specs: Attack vessels are heavy fighters crewed by about 15. There is no ship in the Empire that is only one man and those are the smallest. Guardships and Patrolships have the most fire power with eight electromagnetic rifles, four on the bow and stern. Each having a number of laser turrets for defensive purposes. Frontlineships are purely offensive with a ton of mines. Each capable of launching hundreds of mines at a time. These ships are the largest in the Empire.

OOC: Ah, ok. I thought you might be launching 3000 UberDrednaioughts!111 at me. Seeing as most your ships are gunship-frigate, having a fleet that size isn't really a problem with me.

IC: "Sir, another fleet inbound. Hostile."

The Admiral, not having a particularly good day already, having almost fifty thousand innocent civilians killed by the latest Union bombard (OOC: TFU: Note that my attack on the xeno planet killed at most a million, and I didn't use things that explode and burn people to death. I wouldn't advise trying to take the moral high ground.), his fleet attacked, and yet another fleet entering the system. He slammed his fist down on his display, and yelled in anger as it broke, preventing him from accessing his big shiny status display.

He opened up another, small one, and looked at that. "Well, it seems they're pretty weak-ish. Nothing powerful, in terms of capital ships, it seems they're simply mining the system, trying to make sure we don't get out. It appears that our reinforcements won't be able to get it. Open the farcasters."

Fifteen large portals on the planet opened, each about the width of a small house, and the height of two humans, and people began pouring through them. This system was irredemibly lost, the Admiral knew that. He could've dispersed the Union fleet with ease, with two Central Battlegroups arriving, but warping in to those mines would be worse than disastrous.

Hover vehicles, people on foot, in eco-friendly charaveighs, large transports, all began streaming through the portals. People's faces were filled with fear, and many panicked, and cried, but all continued through the portal. Five drills had been done already, at great expense, but all the people knew how to evacuate, along with taking all the valuable equipment with them.

As they went through, they transformed into blue flashes of light, moving to Davidia, a fortified Core World. Perhaps not all would make it through, as there was millions of people, and only fifty portals, although, on average, ten people moved through each per second.. which was... Five hundred! Yes, it would take about three hours, optimally, to evacuate, although all the valuable personnel and equipment was already through, and, in another portal, five military personnel came through a second, as they required more men, for more time, as they wished for everyone to escape the world.

The enemy would break through the shield in nine minutes, and it was twelve before the geothermal power conduits recovered from the strain. The Admiral devoutly hoped that he could hold for three minutes, against this new threat.

He hoped that the siege on the other worlds would be broken soon, as losing Barichka would let the enemy fleets continue on to other worlds, and, if they lost six more outer colonies, the enemy would have a clear path at the Core World, which could severly damage the economy and military might of the Realm.

The enemy fleets would fight hard, simply to take a dead planet, one which they would pay for in blood...

Xanthalian allies, we seek skilled technicians and engineers, and access to all Xanthalian knowledge about Union and Abh craft. These alone could win us this war, as our isolation has kept our ships from becoming widely known, and knowledge of where to target enemy ships would increase target damage by over 50%, winning us this war. Many thanks in advance, Exarch Emperor Thyreaoth.

We have approved the dispatch of five Näböl engineering and technical companies, approximately five hundred personnel, which will be dispatched on a Säzoyl of the Beyörö KäsnäDĕknä-ĕlnäl in five days and arrive in approximately six (Earth standard). This ship will not be escorted in order to ensure minimal chance of an incident, so if it is attacked we would ask you to defend it as well as you are able without compromising your own defense. If you wish to aquire more personnel from our country, you must obtain them from private employers as my government is not prepared to dispatch more units at this time. Please note that these personnel are sent on the condition that they are kept out of active battlezones and not unnecessarily put in harm's way. While we understand that in war there are no guanantees, we do expect our citizens to be kept as safe as can reasonably be expected. I have passed along your second request to the Länböl Oĭnsäl, whose reply will accompany this message.

I have been instructed to provide you with our knowledge of Abh and Federation starships. We have not militarily encountered or obtained information on either of the nations with which you are currently engaged, but we are aware that the Humankind Abh uses technology established on a basis identical to our own, and though we cannot make any specific leaps due to the fact that their actual craft designs are significantly different than our own, we can give you general information that may or may not apply based upon our own ships. Understand that this information is secret, and must remain secure to preserve Xanthal's national security. By reading the file attached to this message, you are agreeing to confine conferral of any information herein to those who absolutely require it AND are of your own government or military AND and are instructed and unconditionally trusted to not breach confidence. The Humankind Abh operates three combat ship classes which are similar to our own, these are the Attack vessels, Guardships, and Patrolships.
-The Attack vessels are related to the Labule's Gel. They are heavy fighters, less than 100 meters in any one dimension, equipped primarily or exclusively with short-range, ship-to-ship energy-based weaponry. Their shields are the weakest of any fleet combat ship, and are especially vulnerable to explosive and concussion weaponry. They are extremely fast and maneuverable; difficult to target with heavy weapons. They are best combated with other light ships and fighters. Their laser cannons are relatively weak and often used for point defense, but it is likely that these ships share a feature similar to our Gel: an antiproton cannon, though they may have a different name for it or it may operate on a slightly different principle. This device emits a large energy beam that can be sustained for several seconds. Though it has a limited rate of fire, it is devastating to ships of cruiser class and smaller. On Gel, it is most effective in wearing down shields. Against unshielded targets, it can be used at lower levels to wreck electrical systems or powered up to literally blast a hole through the target. If they do share this feature, it will almost certainly be the ship's primary weapon. These Attack vessels are most likely the mainstay of the Humankind Abh's fleet, and also probably the only vessel suited for close range assault. Due to the size of the vessel there are no real weak points to mention that would expedite an attempt to destroy it, but given that one or two direct hits from a midrange to heavy weapon will usually be sufficient to destroy it, this is not a major issue. If you wish to disable a vessel rather than destroy it, targeting the forward command center or central engineering sections with light weaponry may be able to accomplish that aim, though the chance of hitting a vital system and destroying the ship are greater than achieving such an aim.
-Guardships are related to the Labule's Hokal class, a bigger ship that hovers between 100 and 300 meters in each dimension. These are almost strictly long-range attack craft, though data already recieved suggests that Guardships are equipped with more heavy energy weaponry, which may affect this. The fundamental design of the vessel concentrates its power forward however, and though its shields are formidible they are actually slightly weaker towards the aft on Hokals. Also, Hokals are slow. If the Humankind Abh have added weight to that design, they are apt to be very difficult to maneuver. This class of ship, if it is what we believe it to be, employs a significant number of the Humankind Abh's version of "space-time mines," arguably the most powerful weapon in the fleet. Space-time mines are essentially mega-missile/torpedoes, with enhanced speed, several times the power of most comparable weapons, and maneuverability. They are larger than most such weapons, and are thus not overly difficult to track, but their agility makes them difficult for even the best point defense networks to intercept. The Hokal also employs the aforementioned laser cannons and antiproton cannon (cannons, it would seem, in the case of the Guardship). Assuming that these principles hold true, the best way to attack a guardship is close-up with well-shielded or light vessels with superior maneuvering capability and midrange to heavy weapons. A skilled enemy tactician will not make this approach easy, but attacking a ship of this type head-on, especially at mid- to close-range will take up to twice as much firepower and subject the attacker to an overwhelming barrage of weapons fire. A direct aft approach is also inadvisable, as reports indicate that the Humankind Abh also employs heavy energy weapons on the rear of their ships. This excessive weaponry may mean that there is less power available to shielding systems, but there is no data to confirm this.
-Patrolships seem to be related to the Lesu class. These are general combat starships, and lack the specialization of the Gel/Attack vessel and Hokal/Guardship. They are of comparable size to the Hokal, and have high-power laser cannons and, in the case of the Patrolship, heavy energy weaponry fore and aft. If the design principles of the Humankind Abh version are the same as that of the Labule's they carry space-time mines, but in very limited quantity. Though built for solo patrol duties as the name suggests, they also make excellent mid-range attack ships with decent all-around weapons coverage and average maneuvering ability. Though some minor weaknesses exist in the Lesu, they are components of design and most likely do not apply in the same manner to this alternate version. Because of the way its weapons are positioned, like the Guardship the best way to attack is probably from the rear port, starboard, dorsal, or ventral side.
-Notes: The Humankind Abh's vessels seem to be able to travel in planespace, which allows them to enter your system(s) through local sords, the gateways between realms. You will not be able to attack or follow them there, and they may also be able to launch space-time mine attacks through the sord from the safety of planespace, but there is generally only one sord per star system and, unless they utilize alternate faster-than-light travel methods, they will only be able to enter normal space from that point, which (if that is true) means you need only defend one entry point from the Humankind Abh's forces, a potentially great advantage depending on your defensive structure. Also, be mindful that the power of Abh designs is largely dependant on numbers. If you can isolate small groups of ships, you will find eliminating them much easier than if you engage the fleets themselves.

(OOC: I applaud you Xanthal. That was an excellent report on the Abh and my fleets' strengths and weaknesses. Too bad we are on opposite sides of this fight...oh well.

@ HT sorry about the confusion. I suppose that was my fault for not giving you the specs to my ships.)

IC: Admiral Bebaus paced about the ship "Tell all ships to hold formation. We really don't need to do anything other than blockade the planet. Any ships that are low on coolant have permission to resupply now with the supply fleet."

"We are grateful for the technicians, and hope to use them in the worlds yet not under siege, and they may tip the balance yet. The information on the Abh is exceedingly useful, I have transmitted this to all my captains, and hopefully we may yet repel them. My apologies for the brief reply, but I have given up sleeping to repel this attack, and I have little time of my own. May I one day return this favour with something of equal worth."

Message to all Realm Fleet Officers, Priority - 76.U
"Information from Xanthal may tip the war in our favour. A fleet of unknown origin is currently in the process of invading, and the Xanthalians kindly provided us with information about their makeup, based on scans from interaction with this race in the past. This information must remain a secret, as this particular race would stop at nothing to take revenge upon the Xanthalians for revealing it. As such, a ILL has been put upon you at the reading of this message, and the information will only make itself available upon conditions which are now set within your mind.[Picture] Attack Vessels are weak to concussion-based weaponry, transmit this information to your AI as soon as possible. [Picture] Patrol-ships are weak to attacks [picture]. Transmit this information to your AI as soon as possible. The third class of ship is essentially a cruiser-frigate, and is quite powerful. Advise either attack from underneath, or using superior maneuverability.

OOC No offence, but you can NOT hide 3500 Capital ships in one location. You would have problems hiding that many ships designed especially for Stelth, also, what nation are you attacking? it doesn't say.

OOC: I think the key words are "in one location." Space may be big, but we're talking about an established, inhabited star system here. I think it's within the owner of the system's rights to make the assertion that an enemy can't hide within that area.

The next assault was massive , 3 leviathan class arsenal ships Warped in white blue flashes of light , these massive 1500m long ships maneuvered in, with one grate order McNamara smiled slightly and said “fire..” (http://www.treknology.org/arrogant1.jpg), every single ship fired phasers torpedoes, massively huge barrages of thousands of missiles, the leviathan’s them sleeves poured out thousands upon thousands of high yield cruise missiles going 99 % the speed of light these were meant to bombard planets, thousands of beams of phasers rushed out of the massive ships, as well as thousands of torpedoes, the night void was filled with an array of weapons fire massive amounts of light and fire poured out as ships passed by the enemy raiding them firing there phaser arrays again and again, fallowed by torpedoes and then ship[s splitting off the enemy ships were targeted by at least ¼th of this fire .

Troops ships rushed in hiding behind planets over 300,000 troops fallowed by 200,000 objective force warriors, over 80,000 tanks, 20,000 mechs, moments later a few special carrier vehicles warped in there nacelles glowing brightly they had bays full of atmospheric assault fighters, Gun ships, torpedo ships, and mega fusion bombers (basically anti matter fusing )

HT's system; HT's rules. Within reason, of course. Remember, regardless of the precipitating factors you invaded his space. That means that he has existing structure in the battlezones and you do not, which means in turn that he has enhanced capabilities that go along with the home turf advantage. If you want to intrude on someone else's space, you have to deal with the sensors and defenses they have there.

"Sir, the shield is down. Geothermal units will be up in seventeen seconds. We've detected more inbounds, and have taken appropriate considerations. We are activating the FTLi field. Those bastards may take us down, but I'll be damned if we don't take them all with us."

A huge FTIi field sprung up, instantly, covering perhaps ten light minutes worth of space, certainly enough to prevent the enemy escaping what he had planned for them.

"We have multiple missile inbounds, seems like those Union bastards have a thirst for civilian blood. We don't have enough units to interpose. Let them kill their civilians, see how they look in the international light."

"There. The PENANCE Shield is up. I don't think anything they can throw at us can penetrate this shield, let alone their "phasers". Return fire."

A single, immense blast of light easily thrust through the shield, and moved directly towards the Enterprise J. When it hit, which it was assured to do, it would link directly with the power reserves on the ship, and use its own shields to burn it apart. Then we start a chain reaction. Everything in this system will die, irregardless of who, or what, it is. As you know, this weapon is unstoppable, with the minor problem that it is too unstoppable. The FTLi field will stop them fleeing, and they will pay for their crimes, in blood. Close the portals"

Fifty portals suddenly lost power and died, as all available power was directled to the shield. The cannon, which was small, to the point of being miniscule, saw the exanding beam of light, which was uncontrollable once fired, move far beyond what the speed of light was, seeing as the FTLi field had been configured to ignore it.

The Admiral smiled. Those bastards would learn what it meant to attack a Realm world, even if it cost them all their lives. Nothing would live. Bio-energy, trees, the cores of planet, even the sun itself, would all die. The power, not being able to use inter-system travel, would die, and leave behind a dead system. He was ready to die, indeed, he expected it. The magnitude of Union forces in the area would more than pay for the loss of a planet, and the coming invasion of the Union would truly show them what the Realm could do, when angered.

He sent a final message to the Exarch Emperor, and hoped dearly that he would make his enemies pay in their lifeblood for his death...

My lord. We have failed. We have let loose the Worm, and all will die. I beg of you, make them pay for our death. Even your loyal servant, Tarashiu
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Illusis, seventeen minutes later

"Well, well, well. It seems the Union will pay for their foolhardy venture. Gather our allies. It is time we went to pay them a visit...."

Greetings, our loyal allies. We have lost a planet, and millions that we hold dear, yet we will not falter. The entire Union will pay for this, I maintain. Chronosians, in the name of Khorne, let them pay blood! We shall eke every last drop of blood from their writhing bodies, and laugh as they die, and see them truly punished for their crimes. However, it is irrelevent, if we simply kill the unknowing peasants. One man is responsible for this, and he will pay. Robert Bastidas, instigator of untold millions of deaths, will die. We will obliterate the home of the Union, and torture this man, and show him what pain he has inflicted upon others. This idiotic excuse for a human being will pay, and we shall exact the price...

OOC:
Personally I question the effectivness of his 'anti-FTLi' system; unless he knows exactly how HT's FTLi works he can't know if his anti-FTLi would even affect the FTLi field, much less actually work(to use a metaphor, it could be like trying to jamm RADAR to avoid detection, when the other guy is using IR sensors).

It's a grey area, but it could even be argued that HT gets to determin the effectivness of this anti-FTLi, seeing as it's trying to defeat something he controls.

OOC: Yeah this just got awkward.

Nareece watched the bombardment by the Union fleet with passive disinterest when Nafie came up to the bridge. "The Union has targeted civilians and nonmilitary outposts. You know the Empire doesn't condone that. What do you intend to do?"

Nareece sighed "Have all Frontline ships stop assault and prepare them to move. Send half of the Guardships and Attack vessels with them as escorts. The rest will remain here as air cover."

Frontline ships closed all parts and engaged their spacetime bubbles and made for the sord along with about 700 other ships.

The FTLi field was detected soon after and the order was given for ships to get in close proximity with the Union fleet and then activate space time orbs. About a thousand ships were left behind and destroyed as the remaining fleet retreated.

OOC: Riiight. I sacrifice a million or so people, another million elite troops, a sun, a planet, my most valuable computer infrastructure, and you lose a hundred and eighty cardboard ships. Besides, TFU, you've been warping in and out indiscriminately of my systems, giving me an excellent idea of how to counter your engines. I engage my FTLi the very first time, and you somehow figure out how to counter it, using "Ubzor" scientists. Give me a break....

IC: The planet died. The Union fleet warped out, and the Admiral sighed. They would all die. Every one of them. He had lost the planet, and for what? However, he knew that, now, the Black Crusade would descend upon the Union, obliterating it from the face of the universe for all time. He sighed again, and pressed a button. The ships exploded, as one, their once-proud design maimed by battle, and cowed by the oncoming death. He was not one to power a Worm, as one powerful enough may be able to move between systems...

"Stength and victory are not winning the battle; they are the winning of the war" Marcus De Drakan paced before the holographic projectors as he sent forth his message to his own people, to thos of the Travellers, and to all others who would recieve it. "Victory is the absolute and final victory; the killing blow. The flowing blood, the throngs of death" He chuckled lightly. "You would invoke my name in Black Crusade before the final targets are even determined. A pity that you think you can determine where and when the Imperium shall fight for you. We shall not waste a Crusade upon the Union, for they are fools who know nothing of faith. They serve one purpose; that their souls nourish the Daemons of the warp. You have requested our aid; noble ally; and it shall come."

He stepped back, addressing the camera with his full attention.

"The Imperium shall spare no Union vessel or world which it comes across; this is a warning. Cease this futile war, or the Imperium shall mobilise, and shall not spare any of your worlds. We would not have your bastard race perpetuated among the stars. The Union has 7 conventional Terran days to end its war and agree to peace terms; or it shall be declared in its entirety Hereticus Diabolus and cited for immediate Exterminatus...."
