I would like to start producing my own armament, thus, could any body help me?
Im not quite sure where I can start.
Its going to Post/Modern tech, sorta around 40k.

Don't start with 40k is a good start. 40k tank design is moron tank design; with the Leman Russ especially the guns are too big, too many, have terrible fire arcs, no space for ammo stowage, no space for an engine...

The best way to start is to look at what real tank designers have made:

Decide what your nation would want from it's tanks and work out the basics based on that. Same with other vehicles.

Thankyou, I think I will.
I want to loosely base it on Challenger II.

I'd say the Type 98 would be another good choice, it's got a point-defense laser to!

Im quite use to Challenegr II's. In real life, Im in my last year in the A.C.F, my regiment is the KRH and so I serve on them.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

I can't see point defence being that useful on an NS battlefield with heavy ECM deployments by both sides, personally...

Ill stick with Challenger 2 then.

Alone...no. The electrionic counter measures it good, but you have a back-up of rendering the missile useless with a laser, that gives some extra-protection, though not enough ususally.

Preferrably I'd use composite armor and electrical armor for the outer shell. It will destroy missiles before they hit the tank and the composite armor would take anything that broke through.

Unless you want explosive reactive armor.....which is more dangerous to nearby troops and vehicles then a laser.

Jw, have you ever been in a tank in battle conditions?

The tank i wanna make has the Composite and electric armor... but no one is interested.

Who? Me?

I want all three systems on mine. It will be very expensive, but it could stand up against alot of stuff. I don't get why their is a feeling of one nation, one tank, one armor.

Yeah but my tank is gonna field a 152mm or a 140mm gun with a Willink improved autoloader, based on the Type 98 and 99.

Issues are construction cost, construction time, service downtime and repair cost. More complex armour hugely increases both production and operation costs, means your tank spends more time off the battlefield for service and increases your logistical chain by requiring more types of replacement parts to be shipped per unit.

I have twice, but uncloclusive. Onece against a 3rd world country with t-55's, and once with the other person when he had complete air domanence.

In RL. o.O?
-------
My logistics? MY LOGISTICS? My logistics are crazy and disproportionate, I over supply all my units in battle. Having a high powered electrical charge in the armor is not that big of a step up. It doesn't require massive amounts of maintaince. The laser defense.....your kidding? It's made for combat situations, and if destroyed or damaged the tank's extra-defense measure is useless. I certainly won't be hauling replacement laser parts on the battlefield.

If the electrical charge armor is damaged you have a conventional CA armor. If this goes, the tank is gone. My logistics is not exactly well-known for playing 'nice' with others, my logistic trucks are monsters themselves.

I am well aware of the problems, but I don't expect my tanks to be in 100% working order all the time. I expect about 93-94% to be fully operational. The rest to be in repairs or need fixing. Some of the tanks won't be able to fire a machine gun or something during a battle. Some will have tread problems in bad terrain and be unable to continue on. I expect problems because no tank was ever made to be 100% ready and flaw free.

I'd be godmodding if I said, MY TANKS ARE COMING! FEAR THE PERFECTED TANK WITH NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS BEFORE OR AFTER BATTLE!

No, I mean in real life.
I have fought in a challenger 2, twice, but it was on excerise. Its so cool, but a tad scary lol!

Ya, you said it yourself, heavier logistics compared to simpler armour. If you know there's negative consequences, more power to you, but that's why people tend to avoid it.

Well, I was the commander right, coz Im transferring to sandhurst soon.
And it was pitch black, and we got ambushed, and all you could see was tracer everywhere, pinging off the armour, I battened down pretty quick I can tell you! But we got through the ambush, next day we had the biggest tank battle Ive ever seen! Explosions everywhere and my squadron didnt have a single casualty!.
