The year is 1804, and your in charge of a country of your choice.
This was argueably the height of 19th century combat, thosands of men lining up with muskets and marching towards each other, grand cavalry charges and the famous Ships of the Line, dominating the seas and so forth.
A number of interesting states are up for grabs, including the Khazakh Khanate, Portugal, Poland (although its kinda shrinking :P), and Brazil.
So, if your interested in good 'ol fashioned Imperial-Era combat, join Earth: Imperialism.

If this goes through, alot of European states are going to be freed up for players, it will be much fairer to the smaller states because I plan to make it very hard to annex anything.

Yeah, some good nations and intresting ones are still up for grabs. But come fast, as nations are being taken. Some recent ones were Tunisia, and the Confederation of California!

Look into Asia, theres a few good nations there, namely India and Siam (both of which are almost to the same tech level as Europe, especially Siam) and could be VERY powerful with a little help.

France will be up for grabs in a few days.
Australia is open, as is India and Siam.
Japan is open as well, but its living in the 1400's right now, so its not exactly a great choice.
Persia, Kazakhs, Egypt and all the other Arab states except the Ottoman Empire and Tunis are open.
Theres some small European states for those looking for a challenge.

The British Empire will be avalible shortly.

What about colonies?? Do pewople who have control over colonies rp as them or can others rp as the colonies??

You can either work it out with the RPer of the mother country to play as a protectorate or something along those lines, or you can stage a rebellion. Either of those would work, although there are plenty sovereign nations open also.

Yes, you can also play as a government official of some kind, we had a US Vice President for about a week once :P
For some reason, he decided he didnt like Spain, became the VP and started a lovely arguement when his last action as Spain was to merge with England. We fixed that, after some yelling.

Its 1807 as of five hours ago.

Spain isnt so hot at this point, there was a 'thing' where they unified with the British Empire for some wierd reason, before we OOCly broke it up, the player ICly RP'd a rebellion and Spain kinda went to pieces :P
However, we CAN reset Spain and let you start from the 1800 position where its basicaly a former super-power.

Just an FYI, we reset history as well, so nobody started with ANY colonies, the result was interesting. As Russia I promptly became a superpower, but decided that playing the Incans would be interesting (No Spanish colonizers = no destruction of civilization in Americas = Bloody rich natives to be ;)).

Anyway, yeah, Spain is open and in a 'transitory state', but can be reset so that its just a sort of marginal power.

Recent Developments:

- The Republic of France and Poland have agreed to sign a Economic and Military alliance with each other.

- Tensions between Prussia and Poland heat up as Prussian soldiers gather on the borders.

- Sweden is currently persuing the unifacation of the entire Scandinavian Realm by offering a political merger between itself and Denmark-Norway. Already, the Dainish Monarchy has expressed it's interest to the offer.

- Russia abandons it's Westernization plans and revives the old Muscovite Political system through the replacement of the title "Czar" and the re-location of Russia's capital from Sankt Petersburg to Moskva.

Along with this rather unexpected move, the Russian Czar has granted the emanicpation of Serfs within the Russian Empire and has geared itself towards a more capitalist ideaology.

- In the depths of South America, the still surviving Inca Empire begins to expand into the Amazon Basin via force. Meanwhile, an expedition of Inca diplomats arrives in Europe with the task of gather new European technologies.

As of now, anything could happen. So join up today and re-make the 19th Century!

Recent Happenings:

- Under the charismatic leadership of Maximilian Joseph of Bavaria, the mis-matched states of central and western Germany have united into a single confederation. Although several free cities resisted, they were eventually brought under control.

- After a raid made by Barbary Pirates in Spanish Ships on the small British Colony of Capetown, the United Kingdom declares war upon Spain, believing they had masterminded the entire idea. At once, the Barbary Pirates sided with the British Crown and have worked towards the destruction of the Spanish fleet.

- In order to expand to the sea, the Austrian Empire declared war upon Venice. The Kingdoms of Piedmont and Naples look on with worry. To the north, Prussia threatens war, but does not deliver.

- The Colonial Holdings of Russia and the German Confederation begin to grow, fueled by each nation's lust for valuble goods. After a brief trade meeting with the Incian Government, the Russian Tsar effectively claimed hold of a large suger/chocolate monopoly in the Americas.

- In France, the young talented Napoleon Bonaparte re-structures the French Economy and convinces the National Assembly to fund a military campaign in Belgium. So far, resistance has been light, and French Armies are quickly marching through the heartland of the small Grand Duchy.

- To the East, Russia issues an ultimatium to Poland, demanding the small territory of Cotland on the Baltic Sea. As of the moment, the Polish have refused to give in, spurred on by the recent claims of both Prussia and Germany to intervene on the behalf of the small kingdom. However, Russia has yet to back down and open war is likely
