OOC: A little bit of housekeeping. I have changed the way I count votes, you can still use the poll, however it will be taken as a NewsPoll only. To vote please go here (http://www.freewebs.com/rotovia). By following one of the links, a pageload will be placed on the hit counter and recorded as a vote. There is also an option to make a postal vote on the page. For those curious about how I can garuantee I won't just make up the election results, the truth is just like in a real election you can't. I have however created a number of features to prevent vote whoring, the site will only count one vote per half hour per unique IP address. Postal votes will be manually counted. At the end of the election I will post a link to the page that display my stat results. That's all for now.

IC: The Magistrate of Athens ventured to the tiny costal town of Geothebus to declare the first polls open. President Dionysus Baccheus had called early elections to celibrate the first time that outer provinces, namely former colonies holding large percentages of mainland citizens will be allowed to elect their own officials to government.

It is expected however, that the western provinces will punish the coalition government for rising taxes and the governments undenied leftward shift in policy.

I'm Julia DeArmour for RNN: Special Election Report and we'll be bringing you the hours by hour account of these very unique federal elections...

OOC: It's come to my attention that the security code for the postal voting system is occasionally blurry. Click your refresh button if you have trouble reading the code.

The Liberal Party is made of new-school Catholics, but forms coalition with the atheists dominated Republican Party.

The Conservative Party is made up of your more right of centre Protestants.

The Reformists are a breakaway of the Conservatives and could be best desribed as R.I.N.O.

A suprising turn of events today as voters rapidly turn on the major parties. The recent Conservative breakaway party, The National Reformists have stormed the public opinion polls, and are expected to destroy both Government and Opposition in the primaries.

A recent radio capmaign "Vote early and vote often" was this morning pulled form the air by the Deputy Commissioner for Elections, citing extreme violations of the Electoral Fairness Act.

There has been no response from The Palace of Athens, with the President enjoying the ritual established by his prediscessor of speeding in on election on.

Polls moving further north-east have begun to open and a large storm to the polls by Catholics form the northern townships and farmers eager to preserve the President's Hiatus on Farming Loan Payments.

but where is the Green Party comrade?
Virtually non-excistant, major parties with strong enviromental policy and a distinct multi-party system tends to render such parties obscelite.

OOC: Go go REFORM PAR-TY! I was going to pick conservative....but do you really want a bunch of crazy people when you want to break away from it? Conservative tends to stay conservative. Bad choice for stepping towards new government types, like left wing utopia.

As polls begin opening in the South-Western provinces, it is becoming more and more apparent the West is still Conservative Country, with polls swinging decively in favour of the traditional Conservative Candidates.

In these elctorates, the new National Reformist Party appears to have lost steam.

A number of Western Provinces are not even being opposed by the Liberal Government.

The seat of Geothebus looks to be regained by Liberal Senator Jaylene Hastings, with a reduced majority. With only 52% of the vote counted, punters are already calling it the first victory for the government.

Booths continue to open further Northward in the Western Provinces...
