Operation Xenocide
A simple, ugly code, for what was about to happen. The small, innocent, peaceloving creatures on the planet below, had refused time and time again to surrender their planet to the miners, for the millions upon billions of megatons of valuable, strong minerals, which lay below the surface.
Tarriski Corp was angry. They had covertly pulled the government forces out of the area, bought their own small army, and were now approaching the planet of Baryta. Two sleek, smooth, grey cruisers moved swiftly through the void, along with seven frigates. Just behind them, was a fleet of mining craft.
Behind that, was a huge, mammoth ship. Perhaps a kilometre cubed, probably more, it was originally designed as a cargo transport, and was now fitted with millions of deadly biological agents, each designed to slaughter the pacifist creatures on the planet below. Exarch Emperor Thyreaoth himself had given them leave to do this, although it was doubtful that any would know.
The ships arrived, floating over the planet.
Kariss was not worried. As the informal leader of his people, he knew that, from time to time, Realm forces floated above his planet, generally having minor battles, with other forces who sought to dominate them. This was a significantly larger force than normal, but, in his innocence, he could not comprehend what was about to happen.
He saw many, many small cubes fly down from the sky. One landed on a building, and crushed through the roof. Now, he was worried. He saw one of his friends crushed, and dying, from the impact, and he ran, ran towards the communicator the Realm Minister had given him, to use in an emergency.
He picked it up, and pressed the single, large, red button. "Emergencee! We air beung attacked by forcees! Pleese help uss!"
He heard only static. He could not think of what could've happened to it, perhaps it was broken, or perhaps... No... They could be jamming him. He had gone to a conference last year, to learn how to counter jamming, but had been preoccupied with the pretty female of his race who had come with him.
Now, he bitterly regretted it. He saw the box...dissolve... Green liquid spilled out, and began evaporating, throughout the air. He saw the green cloud, no, clouds, for there were many, far more than he had learned to count, seeping into the skins of his people.
He hid in a 'scooter', a sealed, two-wheeled transport, and screamed. The people outside were coughing, at first. A few hours later, their skin was a pale blue... A few hours after that, he was dying, dying because there was no air, but he dared not open the door. Outside, there were thousands of festering bodies, each with dark-blue skins, and scabrous wounds. His hand faltered, as he reached for the handle. No! He could not! But... He would die! But if he left it closed, he would suffocate!
He wept, tears streaming down his eyes, as he made his choice. He was about to open the door, when the cabinet clattered open. Inside, there was a small, but sharp knife. He looked at it, terrified, and, gulping his breath back, stabbed himself in the throat. It hurt! Oh, it hurt!
He couldn't stop now, though. He didn't wish to die horribly, so he stabbed again. And again. And again. Blood rushed from his throat, as he collapsed on the floor, the small knife still clutched in his three-fingered hand. His ragged throat gave one last, despairing sigh, and then he died, his face twisted in a grimace of pain...
Two hours later, the Margarita
"Are all those damned xenos dead?"
The Captain, a short, swarthy man, hated aliens, and was only too glad to begin mining their precious planet.
"Yessir. We will commence mining operations at once. All mechanized units are prepared to commence operations, as we don't want to risk men down there, until the disease has evaporated."
Millions of large vehicles sped towards the surface, each containing mining gear, and a re-exit pack. This would be enough to strip-mine the planet, within a matter of weeks...
However, unbeknowst to the xenocidal captain and his fleet, a single distress beacon was active..

The captain snarled as he heard the message. "Shut it off"
"Yes sir!"
A single, pure white blast travelled down to the surface... The building was obliterated, and the transmitter also... However, would it be enough to stop anyone finding out...
OOC: Anyone can join, maybe with a passing non-national crew, a patrol frigate, or the like. Anyone warping in with TEH UBZORFLEETZ, because of a beacon, will be summarily ignored. Let me state that again, for emphasis:
You warp in a huge fleet straight off (If things get to hostilities, and war breaks out, that's different), I ignore you.
Other than that, feel free to find out, send threatening messages, declare war against me, give me a flower, anything!
OOC: For you, i bake a cake. brb.

The small ship did not come in answer to the distress call. In fact, she would be sending out one of her own if all communications weren't down. No, the Stellar Queen was a ship in distress of her own, moving rapidly towards the planet's surface.
The vessel, a smoothly streamlined and unarmed civilian pleasure ship, sunk at a controlled but hardly pleasant pace and landed about a mile from one of the mining teams. As it came in from space, the rapidly approaching ship was clearly visible to the mining teams before it hit the ground within easy, if not casual, walking distance. The impact tossed up a great cloud of dust and vaporized vegetation. There was no blast, not great burst of flame as a ship was incinerated or smashed or vaporized on impact. No. There was a crash site over there, one which might very easily contain survivors who might or might not be human. All of the vessel's identification signals had been as disabled as the communications and there was no way to tell whose it was short of taking a little walk.
The Kadell
21-08-2005, 11:26
On the small azure planet of The Kadell a desperate plea had been relayed all the way to the Commonwealth Intelligence Office, the CIO was the peak intelligence office and operated an extensive information network that webbed both The Kadell and its associate territories but also radiated outwards into the former void of space. Almost paranoid in their desire for seclusion from the great space powers the CIO frequently intercepted foreign, alien, messages but never an emergency call from a planet, a planet it was discovered to be nervously close to The Kadell.
Jevell had been the Operating Administrator of the CIO and while he was often teased for having softened in his old age he remained firmly conservative on the issue of alien relations, particularly intervention.
“It’s quite clear in my opinion that this message doesn’t warrant the danger of exposing ourselves to an unknown hostile force.”
Younger by another two decades the Elected Administrator for the Defence Department, Gannah Meimso jumped on the end Jevell’s sentence.
“Look, no body is talking about exposing ourselves, that is the point of a reconnaissance mission. We haven’t had a real-life opportunity to use our new long range vessels in a real life situation like this, the training we give our teams is going to waste and this is exactly the sort of thing they’ve been trained for an I shouldn’t have to mention the new laws…!”
“Yes, I’ve already discussed the government’s new law with the Speaker of the Assembly.” Although sitting Kanvan Tellos’s tall thin figure still rose like a pono-stalk from beneath the table to the chairs specifically raised head rest. He interrupted the rapidly speaking E.A. and seemed to draw in an invisible aura of sensibility about himself. “I’ve also already spoken to the Prime Leader, he seems to have been jolted out of his general intellectual slumber to support such a mission.” Tello paused for attention; it was one of the characteristics he had developed from a lifetime’s service in the public arena.
“I’m going to commission the expedition as you’ve just explained it to me Gannah, but! I’ve included a list of amendments which I’ve already discussed with Jevell before you arrived.”
Gannah cringed, he hated being invited to these kinds of meetings, they were more like taking dictation then anything else. The Secretary General dismissed them and they exited the modestly furnished room. Gannah returned to his own office inside the palatial Commonwealth Building. The details of the amendments had been automatically posted to his private files. Cancelling his appointments and taking a few bureaucratic essentials he departed to personally oversee the preparations at The Kadell Aerospace Defence Corps centre on the Ise Carpa.

Ditto. And Hyperspital Travel, we might be taking you to the Courts.
OOC: How, precisely, do you plan to 'take me to the courts'? I'm a sovereign nation, independant of all laws, except my own, and those of the ESUS. And I doubt the ESUS would care if I decided to exterminate the innocent creatures on one of my planets, indeed, half of them would applaud it.
IC: "Sir, a vessel has landed on the surface, it may interfere with our operation. Should we fire?"
The captain looked up, angered. "No, you idiot! If they're another nation, that could be construed as a hostile action! Pfeh. Evacuate them, put them in cryosleep, and wipe their minds of the last two weeks worth of memories. Then, we can send them back, and say it was a mild poison that did it. We don't want our company shut down for screwing up the government..."
"Yessir!"
A small series of transport shuttles flew out of various, strangely-shaped bays in the ship, flying down, towards the luxury cruiser. Each one contained cryosleep bays, and various antidotes, as having another nation's... creatures killed by diseases only meant to strike creatures of Baryta would be disastrous.
"Faster, faster! Get them down there on the double, goddamnit!", the captain yelled, his voice hoarse with excitement.
Each shuttle landed near the ship, broadcasting a message in hundreds of known language, and forms of communications, hoping to contact the beings immediately, before they were infected.
This is a quarantined planet. Please, enter the shuttles, or you will not be allowed to leave the planet. This is a quarantined planet...
Each and every shuttle was broadcasting the messages, aware of the fact that they would have to fire upon the luxury cruiser, if the creatures were not extracted within an hour...

OOC: Irrelevantly of how it got there, you ignored my first cardinal rule. Secondly, you posted my losses. After you ignored my requests, and posted my losses, to boot, I am forced put you on the list of those I have IGNORED. Naturally, if you cease your godmodding ways afterwards, I will carefully reconsider taking you off that list.
Edit: Please, don't post any more in this thread.

would a group of 3 ships be ok ?
OOC: Depends. Two gunships and a frigate, yes. Three dreadnoughts, no. If you be reasonable with your fleet, and only send a small one, its fine.
Millions of miles away, a lone Velkyan Insurrection Destroyer, the Winter Column, sped towards the planet in qestion. They had followed a disabled ship, which did not respond to multiple hailing attempts and had crashed landed on the surface on the planet.
The Captain, a stout man named Will Harken, gave the order to make planetfall with a dropship to the crash site to check fro survivors.
"Sir, sensors are picking up unknown ships, cruiser-sized, in orbit around the planet!"
"Hail them, see if we can find what happened here!"

"Bah. We may have to pull out. I'll answer them myself, idiot!"
The captain's aide whimpered, and ran off, as the captain approached the viewscreen.
He cleared his throat, and began speaking. "Greetings, gentleraces. We are extracting the crew of a luxury liner at present, but will require to put them in cryosleep, and administer antidotes, as a virulent disease has swept this planet, and this planet is now under complete quarantine. After this disease ran its course, the impoverished race who lived on the planet, who are now all nearly dead, required an antidote to this disease, but could not afford the gouging cost that the only company with the antidote charges."
He drew a deep breath, and felt a little nervous, and then continued.
"In return for a new, uncontaminated planet, and the antidote, these people sold us their planet, which is abundant in valuable minerals, which should easily cover both costs, as well as a profit for my company."
He smiled, nervously, and spoke, for the last time, before he shut the viewscreen off.
"However, this system is quarantined, and classified YX5, or restricted to all non-authorized personnel. Please leave the system, as we have everything well in hand."
The captain narrowed his brow.
"Our sensors aren't picking up any Xenos left on the planet..."
"What are you talking about? And how does a company like yours have it's own military?"
"One more thing, how does a plague wipe out everything on an entire planet in days? We have had tabs on this planet for years, and have never encountered any sort of virulent diseases."
"Better start answering, buddy..."

Mean while a few sectors away a patrol group was on the border of the Union, 3 ships 2 defiant 1 galaxy class, the ships were rumbling slowly along In the dark void of space seemingly protecting nothing, the light of a near by star gleamed on the hulls of the federal ship, white light shining off of the sturdy martial used to build the ships, the lettering and numbering on the ships were illuminated even more by there own hull lights blinking off and on as they cut through the night, mean while on the bridge of the USS odyssey captain Robert McNamara (LOLOL I though id through that in as a joke), was sitting on his chair looking around the galaxy class ships bridge, it was rather slow and quiet his officers were working slowly in the back round , they had 4 days to go to patrol this area it was pretty dull, Robert McNamara sighed as his XO Bester Tobarn, got up and walked out of the bridge on to a turbo lift, Captain McNamara was addressing his chair computer looking at the list of ships he had with them.
Witch was:
The USS Odyssey NCC - 8200
The USS San Andréa’s NCC-5001
And last but not least the USS Abraham Lincoln NCC – 8100
The Sensors on the Odyssey, were scanning the area when the distress call came zipping by immediately the communications console beeped loudly, the con officer rushed his hand over swiftly and smoothly and pressed the play back button, the message was played Robert McNamara looked over to the console, then the officer asking in some what of a shock “when was that recorded?”
The con officer responded looking back up to him “approximately 30 minutes ago”
Robert McNamara sighed and said “what direction and location”
The con responded with “ several sectors away about 5 minutes maxim warp”
McNamara stood up and flung his hand saying “engage!” after that he looked over tactical saying “order the other ships to fallow us go to red alert arm phasers and torpedoes”
Moments later the ships jumped to warp in a flash of white blue light whooshing out to warp
5 minutes passed when suddenly the ships just warped in to the system, the lead ship the odyssey opened a frequency to all vassals
“This is captain Robert McNamara of the USS odyssey, we are responding to a distress call all hostile ships withdraw immediately, or state your reasons for presence”

"Mmmm."
The captain, incensed, began talking, quickly now.
"Perhaps we should be asking you what you are doing here. You are in direct violation of our laws, and I would be well within my rights to have you shot down where you are. Either you are mistaken, or you are lying, with an ulterior motive. This planet has been quarantined for six years now, not days. A vast atmospherical change brought this about. If you would not care to leave, then perhaps you would care, if you decided to bring about a state of war between our two countries, by foolishly remaining in our space, which, as I have mentioned, is quarantined. I have legal documents stating I have permission to be here, as well as signed documents from the populace of this planet, so, unless you care to give some reason to your being here, you should leave. Now."
He abruptly cut off the viewscreen, and set it to audio-only. If those damned do-gooders stayed in here for another... seventy-four units (1.5 seconds), he would be well within his rights to fire on the enemy craft, especially considering the fact that they were invading sovereign space...

"Fools. Bring them on-screen."
The Captain, speaking in a loud, angry tone, gesturing wildly with his hands, began speaking, although his throat was already a little hoarse.
Perhaps you would care to state why, you, members of the Fedral Union, are in a Realm territory, after you fired upon our craft, a few days back. After that open act of war, we are prepared to openly obliterate your nation, and now you come into our territory again, in defiance of your kind's laws, as, I can only assume, to attack us. This has gone past mere border skirmishes now, it seems you are willing to declare open war. You have twenty seconds to depart, or otherwise this will be construed as a hostile act, and we will be forced to summon the military, and dispose of you."

If your actions are seen as audacious enough, a state of war will exist between our two nations. I highly advise that you turn back now, before we are forced to declare such a state."
"Also, every citizen on this planet is in cryosleep, apart from those who are dead, on the planet Irrilus. If you wish to ask permission to conduct an investigation there, it will most certainly be granted. The distress call transmiited was from a crazed citizen, who, realizing he was not being picked up, due to the disease being unstoppable in his system, began transmitting a call, in hope of being rescued."
The Captain, in all his years on space-faring, was never so sure of the another captains greed until now.
He stared long and hard into the eyes of his would-be adversary. A single word, more powerful than an entire speech, escaped his lips.
"Liar."

Most of the minerals were gone anyway, the captain had essentially delayed the other nations for the exceedingly efficient mining crews to extract the valuable materials, and use the warp function to put it back on the freighters. Within another twelve hours, the overstressed miners would finish the job, despite the extreme damage that was likely to occur, due to the immense speeding-up on the gear, but the current cargo would cover costs a hundred times, so, even if they had to leave now, it would be no problem..

as the craft spun to the odyssey the odyssey went to evasive maneuvers the massive ships trying to maneuver out of the way, and firing its phasers several beams of phasers fired one after another trying to destroy the craft it was trying to avoid
"Hey, looks like we are in for a fight, huh?"
"Sir, slipspace ruture off port bow, it's the Vigilant!
A massive, 2 KM long battlecruiser emerged from the slipspace hole. The Vigilant had arrived.
"Roger that, Vigilant, engage hostile warship, we are heading after the two enemy cruisers!"
"You greedy bastard. You've killed millions, but now that you are threatened, you cower behind your government and allies. Die now!"
The MAC gun on the bow of the ship fired, it's rocket assisted shell flying at the back corparation ship.
OOC: Ah, sorry, missed that before I warped out.
Treat this as though it was before my last post.
IC: "Well, send in the Tarnish
A small, boxy craft sped towards the Odyssey. Shielded multiple times, and full of antimatter implosives, originally designed for destroying the core of a planet, it should easily reach the Union craft, and possible, just possibly, rip it to pieces.
OOC: Ok, if this turns into a war, it has to go into another thread, mmkay? We can have a Chronos/Me vs TFU/Velkyan teamset, and just blast the hell out of each other, mindlessly. But, if that is going to happen, can we keep it out of this thread?
OOC: Actually, this is all just mindless fun to me, the only real conflict is the NSWWI that Velkya has commited hundreds of ships to.

OOC: Oh, I'm not gone...
The Admiral smiled. Those damned unionists had destroyed his frigate, and now, they were going to pay. This fleet had been in transit even since the distress beacon was activated, and now, they would fall upon the pathetic excuses for nations, and purge them from Realm space.
"Helmsman, take us in."
"Yessir"
The fleet of twenty ships, sleek and black, as were most Realm craft, not one a dreadnought or warcruiser, mostly small, compact craft, were all prepared to destroy the enemy invaders, who had no respect for sovreignity.
"Shielding systems online! Weaponry online!"
A computer beeped confirmation, and the fleet dropped out of Truespace, their shapes bending slightly as they dropped in, and, before they had even congealed into a proper shape, they fired.
Hundreds of missiles, guided torpedoes, multicoloured fire, all ripped through the void towards the Velkyan ship, but, for some reason, no fire was directed at the TFU fleet...
"This is Liberation Fleet Iyogni. We are prepared to destroy the xeno invaders! For the glory of the Realm!"
As he spoke, he felt a cold chill at the back of his neck... Something was disturbing his sense of balance...

The Pleasure opened fire; warp cannons roaring with concentrated energy; funneled from the Empyrian itself to cleanse its enemies; torpedoes and missles roared through the void, as the flagship of Lucian unleashed its deadly waves of high explosives, armor penetrating rounds; followed immediately by another barrage of armor piercing weaponry; interlaced with chemical and biological weapons.
The seething ship opened fire again; a true and terrifying warship of the Imperium; worthy to be called a flagship. Boarding pods, boarding torpedoes and teleporters engaged; and Plague Marines readied to flood the enemy defences; chainaxes roaring; bolters howling...
Lucian himself readied for combat; spinning Manreaper, his great Daemon Scythe, blade sharp and sickly with the blessings of Lord Nurgle.
The traveller had come once again to the realm of men....And battle was to be joined.

Shields holding for the most part; energy deflected in all directions; hull scorched and tarnished, mauled by a rogue burst of Fedral fire; the Pleasure spun upon the Unionist vessels. Weapons crackled with a raw and carnal heat; the blasts of sundering warp energy forced forth. Fighters slipped from bays to plunge against the enemies; assaulting with all weapons fire; even plunging in suicidal glee towards key areas and detonating.
Missles; bombs; torpedoes; any weapon the vessel had was deployed against the Union; as signals were sent forth. "Immediate reinforcements required."
A further 15 medium to heavy vessels tore through the void; the small battlegroup from which the Pleasure had deviated to obtain this sample. Their weapons primed; they focussed on the TFU fleet with blasts of raw energy; even as a blast rocked the Pleasure; sending debris out into the void. It was hurt; but by no means dead....
And so; with coordinated bombardment; the war began...

"Excellent. Most very, very good. Soon, operation "Unioncide" will begin."
OOC: TFU. Would you mind if I made a few covert biological attacks on some of your planets?
IC: Sir! The Valkyrie has taken heavy damage.
"Hmph. Pull it back, and use the drones to repair it. We don't want to lose our medical frigate this early in the battle. The rest of the ships are all right, I assume?"
"Yessir!".
"Very good. Continue the attack."
The ships opened fire, making what they had fired before look like children's toys. Bright beams of red light, crackling with power, huge, dreadnought-destroying missiles, and globes of black antimatter, all swiftly swept their way towards the Union ships.
This was an obviously planned attack, they had waited for the Union to attack them, and now released their full arsenal of weaponry upon the Union, hoping to obliterate their ships, so all could go ahead as planned...

Corrina Reeve was the first to peak forth from the ship and make her way towards the shuttles. She was a short woman with a finely curved body, looking to be in her late teens. She had a pair of tufted, wallaby ears and a firm, golden-brown tail but otherwise appeared like a very attractive human girl. Her skin was a light olive color and her hair was raven black. She was dressed smartly in a black short skirt, white blouse, and black high heels. She walked towards the shuttle with a grin. "Hey there! Their Excellencies sent me to check out here because there were supposed to be a million shuttles. What's the situation exactly?"
After her, a number of other women appeared in the ship, heading towards the shuttles. Most of them appeared to be upper-class or even noble women, dressed for a relaxing vacation. Some of them looked human. Others had the animalistic features of Pooka. Some were towering, blue Trollesses, though the Amazonian features of Danaan Trolls could not be confused with the traditional warty creatures. Some were Sidhe, beautiful and elegant beyond the telling. There was a smattering of other races.

IC: "Sir, multiple inbounds! They seem to be of ISF origin!"
The Admiral, smiling grimly, pressed a button. A single ray of light emitted from the ship, diffusing throughout the ISF ships. A relatively harmless beam, it was taken from the concept of the Taledonian Crystal Angels, it would easily pass through any shielding, due to the many interesting factors of the light itself, and should cause severe nausea to any onboard. Of course, this was a minor factor, but, it did give them a severe advantage in the terms of control, and close combat, especially considering the fact they planned to board the enemy ships, within minutes.
"Sir, we are taking minor damage from the ISF Fleet. Nothing severe, and certainly not as damaging as the Unionists or the Velkyans, but they could become a minor annoyance."
The Admiral grinned, a hearty, happy sort of grin. "Hah! Those ISF idiots can't figure out which way to point their own guns, let alone defeat an elite battlegroup such as this one. Just ignore them. They're not worth attacking."
He didn't even bother to call for backups, considering that this dead, unfortified bit of space was only worth a moral victory, and, after all, once they began winning, they would retreat, leaving the enemy fleets bewildered, and confused.
He ordered the firing to begin anew, while the fleet slowly began moving backwards, to a nearby asteroid field, which could quite easily be used for superior defense. Considering the huge Union Fleet that had just arrived, that would be a wise move, even though his ships were superior, he was, of course, outnumbered, and didn't see dying in this godforsaken xeno system as a viable career option...
He checked his status, and swore. The Medical Frigate was disabled, and a destroyer's shields were nearly down, it was definitely time to retreat to the asteroid field...

Was it ironic or fitting that Gannah had to fly to the Aerospace centre? He couldn’t decide. It had probably been the most interesting part of whole experience; at least he had nice scenery to look at. Since arriving at Ise Carpa the general excitement of the staff about the mission seemed to have given way to the administrative and technical aspects of it all. The modestly sized Citizen Class adapted surveillance vessel had been launched over 10 hours ago, its progress tracked along the outstretched deep-space satellite system.
Millions of kilometres out in space the Tagandro began to decelerate as it descended upon the lonely solar system in stealth. Locating a near-by asteroid it drifted articulately before attaching itself and releasing a smaller surveillance satellite to scope out the little blue-white world in the distance. Gracing over the planets’ atmosphere it began to collect high-density resolution images of the planet and transmitting them intermittently on a tight-band and encrypted frequency. At a far-off Command Centre on Ise Carpa the relayed information was decrypted and enthusiastically analysed. Gannah had made a call to the Secretary General:
“…Well judging from the random nature of the damage to their buildings and farmland it could have been an emergency landing but on higher resolution you can see something else… yes, that’s what they are… at least in the hundreds of thousands but we calculate more like the millions. Perhaps as high as 5 million but that’s only based on a statistical calculation…
No, they’re armed but not heavily enough for that… it’s hard to tell but we’ve seen worse… We think it’s for probably for mining, there’s some types of equipment being moved about the planet has a significant amount of some key elements… Yes, that’s what we’ll keep doing. I call you when we receive more. Bye.”
At the stage the Secretary General’s order had been clear. Keep watching but be careful. ‘Wasn’t that our motto?’ Gannah thought as he sat at the table.

Dariansavordrandast was one of several crew members of the ‘TT capsule’ that happened, as part of a relatively routine research mission, to be passing through, or rather, into, the ‘area’ occupied by the dying, and soon dead, planet. The communications panel of the vessel lit up with chatter.
The TARDIS’ translation matrix processed the signals, and Darian began sorting the transmissions.
[SOS. Please Help. (Co-ordinates transmitted)]
This is a quarantined planet. Please, enter the shuttles, or you will not be allowed to leave the planet. This is a quarantined planet...
The young Time Lord leaned forwards on the panel, and twitched a finger laid on the playback control, glancing at his other, equally novice, compatriots. “Let’s see if we can get more?”
The navigator nodded, “Transferring space-time coordinates to helm,” she said, watching the control console’s central column slow its rate of movement considerably, “entering temporal orbit.”
They played on, and listened to the escalation of the situation. Darian continued leaning on the console, and listened. “This is sounding less and less like a disease and more like an attack,” he said, after a while. As the plague ship’s transmission was intercepted, he shuddered a little inside his robes, though the powerful anti-telepathic systems of the TARDIS were not likely to be confounded by warp-spawned sorcery, the repulsive voice of the chaos-worshipper was enough to make the Time Lord cringe in distaste.
“Visual,” called the sensor operator, and the control room, barring the console and the platform it and its operators stood on, disappeared, replaced with a perfect view of space in three dimensions. Darian ducked instinctively as the image of a box full of ‘antimatter implosives’ almost hit them, and other weapons began firing past.
“I say we see about investigating the planet’s inhabitants, hunt for survivors or some such,” the Navigator, a short haired woman called Serafagistandvortrad
Darian nodded at Serafa, “Sounds fair, let’s see about life signs,” he glanced meaningfully at their sensor officer, who worked for a moment, dismissing the space scene surrounding them, and replacing it with an inverted view of the planet, as if they were inside a hollow, inward facing world. “Scanning the surface for organic respiration and higher level neural activity,” the sensor controller said…
(OOC: So, in other words, any intelligent, organic (machines aren’t of interest to them, as they’re unlikely to affected by disease) life left on the planet, excluding TRD’s people that I can go and talk to?)

Both Frigates pulled into posistion near the Chronosian Fleet. Turrets loaded, Beam Arrays charged and ready, and Missile Tubes primed, both Frigates targetted the nearest TFU Union.

"Union Vessels, this is the OHLF Death's Head. You have attacked two of our allies, and we aren't happy. Stand down IMMEDIATELY, and we will not open fire. Repeat, stand down!"
Ravona nodded and the channel closed.

"We have four Gunships on their way, ETA six minutes. We have confirmation that another two Frigates can make their way here in ten minutes, and we have two Destroyers that are inbound. Time for them is estimated at twelve minutes."
Ravona nodded.
"Well then people, lets hope that TFU is either slow to respond, or that we can stall him. Chances are he won't back down, and I don't want to enter the conflict unless we have reinfocements closeby. Understood?"
All the crew nodded.
"Very well, Tactical, escolate Ship Status level to Crimson Alpha!"

"Ma'am, the Let's Talk Amway! reports her drives have finished cycling; the fleet's ready to jump."
"Alright; take us to tactical alert," Captain Alaska Jennings, KCV Baked Alaska, replied with a small nod; the vixen's avatar turning to her helmsman, "Jump when ready."
Not that Alaska needed her crew, she mused as ascents echoed - the hospital cruiser was little different than any one of the Distributed Sentient's dozen bodies in that respect, including the one that now sat on her bridge - but it was always nice to have company on long cruises, and saved her from splitting her focus quite as broad.
----------------------
With a flicker of chance, an exagerated uncertainty between moments in time, dozens of small, basketball-sized probes apeared in space five million kilometers out from the planet; eight vessels following seconds later - a mix of craft, most unique.
Sensor emmisions blossemed as more drones launched, the new arrivals attempting to ascertain the situation, and the root of the distress call that brought them here; the firefight was a most unplesant suprise - shields already raised, however, their guns remained on warm standby; fire control likewise. It wouldn't do for someone to belive them their enemy's reinforcments and open fire.
"This is the Kanuckistani civilian medical cruiser Baked Alaska with escort; we are responding to a distress call having originated in this system. We would apreciate a situation brief, if you're not too busy amending each other's ships. Baked Alaska out."
The message was broadcast unencoded and analog across most common channels; audio-only and in lightly accented english - short of flooding the airwaves with multilingual repititions, such was the most likly tactic to find understanding ears.

Big does not mean that i'm afraid of them. Big simply means someone can put numbers behind their RPing, wether that RPing is good, bad or indifferent.
I'm not scared of hollow threats, either. Battle Plates can be destroyed, and I do belive i hae ships capable of doing so. I don't use them, becasue, honestly, who would send 20 kilometer or larger ships into what is a minor warzone? It's overkill.
IC: These sheilds were new. They had taken new technology discovered from the Shipbuilder cities and shipyards, and put them into sheilds that could stop almost anything. Crystal Angels, supposedly unsoppable, could be stopped.
and so could these derivitives of them.
The sheilds flered blue, then phased back to transparency, the ships continuing unaffected.
Fighters pored from the ships, mearly a thousand of them, probably 1500. They swarmed around the Hyperspatial Travel fleets, firing their inboard weapons after their missiles had been depeeted.
The Main fleet took up a half-sphere formation, pouring concentrated fire on any enemy ships that got into the bowl part of teh sphere. Their aft guns and missiles targeted anything that came behind them, or got through the bowl.

Hellfire Daemonships roared as though they were living things; Doomfire bombers and Swiftdeath fighters lunged forward by the hundreds; even as dozens fell in the bombardment of the enemy.

The Comms. Officer meanwhile was warning the small squad of Gunships that there were Union ships just outside the system, waiting for them. Not that the Gunships could be stopped, seeing as they were in Subspace, but it'd be useful if the Gunships knew that the enemy was behind them...

They impacted the ship's sheilds, sending the ships rocking. A few destroyers were destroyed outright, but the rest of the shi survived, though they had taken varying degrees of damage.

Several capital ships tore apart under the enemy assault; their killer torpedoes doing their job with efficiency while Lucian let a yawn slip from his lips. He smirked softly; initiating two things; the first, was the unfolding of the main front part of the ship, and initiation of the Primary Warp Cannon; the second was the order that all restraints be released.
A barrage of graviton warheads hurtled towards the bulk of the TFU fleet; fighters with inbuilt bombs hurtled towards their foes; detonating in immense gravitational explosions, or huge and searign blasts of warp energy...
The Cannon fired; tearing the debris asunder; vaporising Chronosian fighters caught in its path as the immense and terrible energy discharge; crackling with the seething energies of Warp Space; hurtled towards the mainstay of the TFU fleet. The Chronosians broke formation, reassembling as they advanced; more spread out; all weapons blazing as more missles and bombs rained upon the enemy; a ship burst apart under the onslaught, tumbling in debris beside the Pleasure. Lucian chuckled.
"Onwards; more! More for the ruinous powers!"
The Capital ships that had stayed behind now pushed forward and engaged with their mighty weapons arrays. This battle would be won by the Imperium and its allies; and if not....None would be allowed to live.

Thank fully most of the ships were pretty maneuverable, so a lot of them rushed out of the way maneuvering from the beam several disabled ships were no so lucky and 2 fleeing ships were caught, over all 9 ships were lost 4 smaller 3 medium 2 large ships, how ever 2 ships warped in to the system to replace most of the ships lost, these ships were made war ships there primary mission was to deal with any significant combat threat. There 18 Phaser arrays immoderately blared away powerful enough to slice through even the thickest hulls the phasers were targeted on the ship with the huge warp cannon , massive amounts of photon, quantum, Gravimetric, and hell fire torpedoes, over 150 torpedoes rushed out both ships each, heading towards multiple ships and the flag ship as there phasers blazed a crimson trial of death in the dark sky.

"We've got to do something!"
Alaska sighed inwardly at the destroyer captain's sudden outburst over the entanglment-based command net; it was a typical Guild reaction.
"We all feel that way; the question is what."
"I should think that obvious," the KAGV Friendly's commander continued, "The Dominion's allies are under attack; fighting and dying - we're obligated to help them!"
The vixen glared at the officer - would have, atleast, if the conversation wasn't audio-only - a sharp reply forstalled only by the Savage Chicken's own.
"We're obligated to do nothing, Dave; we're not the government, and we don't know what happened here - not yet atleast; we should know soon enough. What we do know is that we have a hospital ship loaded with medical staff sitting next to a war zone - a ship which, I might remind you, we are contractually obligated to protect."
When the only reply from the destroyer's captain was a muted growl, the Sensor Ghost piped in, "So, what do we do? It seems to me that, what with this big ol' medical cruiser..."
"Are you calling me fat?!" Alaska snaped, then laughed; "But yeah; we ought to start rescue operations, all around - it's why we're here, afterall."
"True," Captain Jackson piped in, from the bridge of his 'Sweet Ride', "But you might want to make a general offer, otherwise someone might think we're trying to kidnap survivors, or otherwise missinterpret our actions."
---------------------
The small fleet had scarcly moved in the minutes sense it's arrival, it's original hail thusfar unanswered, when a second transmission was broadcast likewise to the first;
"This is the KCV Baked Alaska; we are preparing to launch search and rescue operations, and recive casualties. Due to the risk that missinterpreted motives or 'cultural conflicts' pose to our staff, however, we will only be moving to assist those factions which specificly accept this offer. Be advised that we are a neutral civilian and hospital vessel - firing upon us, our escorts, or our smallcraft will constitute an act of war against the Dominion of Kanuckistan. Baked Alaska out."

A small Kazeci civilian transport entered the sector at the distress call. It's captain, who’s name was different to everyone he meet, felt it was his time to act. He wanted to 'fulfill his purpose', a chance he lost when his crew mutinied and took power. You see, once, a long time ago, he had been the captain of one of Kazecistan's mighty super cruisers. He found that a race far stronger than his own was to commit genocide. But his time to shine was then from him when his crew took power and removed the ship from conflict. The Kazeci military had him discharged for his actions and revoked his captain’s license.
What's going on? said the message in a harsh voice.

"Sir!"
The Admiral, by now, annoyed, openly slapped the aide with the palm of his hand, and then snarled "WHAT!?"
The aide, shaken, spoke, in a moderated, slow tone. "Sir, we have temporal activity in the area. We only have basic nullifers, and I doubt they'd stop whatever being is using temporal technology watching us, but it may stop them interfering!"
The Admiral thought quickly. Nullifers were energy-consuming, and throwing one up, over the entire system, or at least the planet, would certainly hurt his reserves a great deal.
"No. We'll cut our losses, and retreat further back into the asteroid field. This fleet may be advanced, but we're badly outnumbered, and the nearest warcruiser is almost a day away, even by Glimmer Drive. We really do need a few extra ships, and we don't have them. We'll consider retreating to Zegenia if things get any worse.."
His face was plastered with a scowl, and, as he saw another two ships explode in fiery balls of death, it grew larger. Although he was partially protected by the asteroid field, it was doubtful he could hold out for much more, considering the age and size of this fleet...

OOC: I would say that 'Temporal Orbit' is not really time travel, but I haven't much of a clue what it is. In any case, as soon as a TARDIS materialises, it's part of events, and no right thinking 'Time Lord' would then try to change the past or future of an event, for fear of a paradox. In any case, are there any other life signs? It's a fairly small civillian vessel anyway, so withdrawing to the asteroid belts isn't really necessery, at least, not if you're considering my impending appearance a motivating factor...

I think it's more a case of them only detecting temporal activity; it doesn't apear that they've spotted the actual ship.
Oh, and you'll probally notice some rather... interesting phenomena around my ships; their ASPEW fields, which stop shortly beyond the shields, do many things, including fundimentally altering the nature of time, such that it is more a property of matter and energy, representing "rate of change"-potential(kinda-sorta; I'm still trying to figure out how to explain this comcept more clearly after more than a year), rather than a tangible dimention - intangible, immalleable. Things effected are not part of the temporal continuum; indeed, you can only speed up or slow this form of time down, for the past and future are not places with respect to it. And the Time-Flow regulators I started incorperating a few months back inhibit even this.
The volume within the field also doesn't exist relative to all other non-threespace dimentions; a spiffy FTLi system with a number of unforseen side-effects.
From what little I can tell of your nation, that ought to make my lil fleet rather interesting.

From what little I can tell of your nation, that ought to make my lil fleet rather interesting.
OOC: Not all that interesting. The TARDIS would just consider it a navigational anomoly. If they wanted to land inside that area, the TARDIS would take them to a point in spacetime that is unaffected and which corresponds with your future location - where you're going to go, pause there until you arrive, and then materialise.
Exceedingly twinky, I know, but I'm not planning on going inside your ships anyway, so I shouldn't need to write that twink up IC anyway.

Ah; I figured someone tweaking fundimental reality like that might have raised an eyebrow.
Tho, if your 'dematerialise' tech is extradimentional or temporal based, it would almost asuredly stop working at the point where the corresponding volume of space entered the ASPEW field's area of effect. If it's in 3-space, the standing barrier fields - my shields - would almost asuredly stop it unless it punched through brute-force style - and the quantum skew-field probally wouldn't be very healthy, either.

"Kanucki crew, this is a restricted warzone. In light of your status as our allies, you should leave the warzone immediately. If you wish to conduct any operations within this warzone, please wait until we are victorious"
An automated message, sent by a diplomacy computer, was all the Kanucks would get, considering the fact that this was the middle of a battle, and a cursing Admiral would probably not endear the Kanucks to them...
The Admiral, more than a little worried now, considering the fact that half the universe had appeared to pop in, to take a squiz at his little battle, made his decision. A single, near-invisible glob of energy headed to the remains of the planet, and would impact it, leaving the core cooled to nothing, making the planet a mere uninhabited, freezing rock, orbiting the small red sun of this system.
He then sent out a communication, to the Chronosians, and all others who appeared to be allied to their cause. He encoded it, using one of the most undivulged codes of his time, one that would only be translated by his allies, he had made well sure of that. No enemy fleet would translate this message today...
"Allied Fleet. I fully advise you to retreat to the nearby system of Zegenia. We've set up a little surprise for our friends here, and I'm sure they like surprises..."

[817 Armed Space Superiority Units in Zegenia]
[Two Full Battlegroups Armed in Zegenia]
[Fully Operational System-Wide FTLi system prepared to active in Zegenia]
[End Node]
OOC: A battlestation is essentially a dreadnought, except for the fact they have no FTL engines, and therefore don't have to be constructed to take the strain that FTL travel inflicts, and so are much cheaper. And, of course, the fact that they don't have to make planetfall, etc, etc...
He smiled, grimly. The enemy fleets could either choose to follow him into what was, quite literally, a deathtrap, or stay in this soon-to-be dead system, and claim victory, when they had lost much more than the allied fleets had, mainly because they were attacking prepared fleets. Either way, he would easily claim victory.
"Disengage from combat. Prepare to engage Glimmer Drives on my mark. See if the Chronosians attempt to disengage, if so, cover them, if not, disengage slowly, and give them plenty of chance to get away. We'll be able to use a proper Truespace Path, and so we'll easily get there before them, even if they warp out before us..."
The fleet, already hidden in the asteroid field, began to slowly move away, as they required to drop their shields to 50% before leaping into Truespace, which, if happened when they were surprised, would not be good...
Already, the fleet was looking battered. The proud, sleek, black ships were bumped, and dinted, and burnt, and blasted. They looked less like a conquering fleet, and more like a mercenary fleet, without the money to pay attention to detail. Even now, the fourth frigate exploded, in a mass of bluegreen fire, which was quickly extinguished by the vacuum, and the Admiral sighed. His friend, Juritii, was aboard that ship... He wiped a tear from his eye, and strengthened his resolve. As much as he would love to stay here, and fight a war of mutual extinction, he admitted to himself, that's what it would be, he would much rather rip the bastards apart as soon as they arrived in-system, and laugh, a long, bitter laugh, as he saw them clawing at their ship portholes, gasping for the life-giving air that he would deny them...

The display showed various clusters of life, and after a moments hesitation, Darian picked one, “Okay, let’s go there,” he suggested, to which Serafa nodded,
“Materialisation coordinates set,” she said, leaning down to examine the nav monitor, which showed a map of the area at the time of their destination. “I think it might be worth investing time getting dressed suitably,” she said.
Darian nodded, “Serafa and I will go out, anyone else?” he said, looking around the faces of the four remaining crew.
The systems operator nodded, “Defences online, if we need them. I could set up a perimeter force field too,” he said. Darian stepped down from the pedestal on which the console and its operators stood.
“I don’t think we’ll need that,” he said, slipping out of the ship’s control room with Serafa.
Inside the ship, minutes passed, as Serafa and Darian hunted around in the near endless wardrobes of the TARDIS, finally returning dressed in outfits resembling those common among the civilians of the official owners of this planet, the Interstellar Realm of Hyperspatial Travel. While they did so, the systems controller worked on his defences anyway.
“Keys?” Darian said, checking his own, and receiving a curt nod from his compatriot. “Right, re-materialise at leisure,” he said, and Serafa leaned over the railings around the elevated platform to pull the materialisation levers into the positive position. The central column of the time ship stopped its motion, Turning a knob next to it, she disabled the TARDIS’ engines, and the column slid down into its deactivated position, locking itself into the console’s recesses.
On the planet, dust stirred near one of the larger groups of surviving natives. With a grating, grinding sound, accompanied by a diffuse light, an object appeared, resembling something local, a tree perhaps, or a boulder, or even a construct designed by a sentient being, the time ship materialised disguised as something appropriate, away from the natives line of sight.
Two doors, either worked into the object, or concealed on its outer surface opened, revealing its impossibly spacious interior. Darian and Serafa stepped out, closing the doors behind them. “This way,” she said, and they moved off towards survivors…

IC:"We are preparing for a siege here. I have no doubt they want that dead system, perhaps as an advance base, either for observation, or a preliminary invasion unit, but it matters little. Zegenthis is the only system near their 'new colony', and, as you can see, the entire place is a deathtrap. The AI is predicting that they have a 73% chance of fortifying the system, in order to gain a foothold in our territory. I advise repeated raids on their new construction, let's make it unviable for them to build there, eh?"
The Admiral, his face stony, continued.
"I advise that we launch a full-scale invasion of the Union. The move is strategically unsound, but tactically, it's pure genius. They'll be expecting us to retake a dead and useless system, and, if we launch continued raids there, they won't expect an invasion of their homeworlds. It's been too long that the Union has sat safe and sound in its little personal zone, interfering with others. Perhaps we should interfere with them..."
He activated his computer console, and began transmitting a series of tactical info to the fleet around him, as well as the allied fleets..
[Chronosian Fleet most suited to ground campaigns. Invade multiple border worlds, and take them in the name of Chaos. Union troops are generally untested, due to their mammoth space fleet doing much of the work. Chaos Marines will easily slaughter the populace, and dedicate their work to the Gods of Chaos.]
[Realm Ships, being the most maneuverable of the two main nations here, albeit at an armour and shielding cost, can jump from world to world, obliterating defenses, and making the way clear for Chronosian Marines to conquer the world. Union troops will not be able to counter these invasions, due to the constant movement of the fleet.]
[The Jacta Alea Est has enough power to spearhead the attack on the Union homeworld, after we carefully draw their fleets away from their protection, after ravaging their less-defended worlds.]
[The Unionists will either have the choice of letting their outer worlds burn, or having their homeworld obliterated. They will learn not to interfere with other, more powerful nation's affairs.]
[Realm Worlds have been fortified for years after the ascension of the Exarch Emperor, we hope that Chronosian and Otagian worlds are equally fortified, as we wish to provoke the Union into a counter-invasion]
After transmitting the information, the Admiral smiled, a thin smile, a smile that spoke volumes, a smile, that, if you saw, you would know you were about to die...

OOC: Oh, sorry, I misread. TFU set up a base there, remember? I can only say about my stuff, and that's it..
IC: The floating debris of spaceships sank through the void, the dead crew aboard equally silent. A battle had taken place here, it was obvious. A collapsed, dying planet, one that was being drawn inexorably towards the sun, hundreds of shipwrecks, and... Well, nothing, really. This was a place of death, for the most part.
However, in a ruined Ragnarok-class frigate, two men sat in an emergency compartment, and hoped for rescue. Although they knew the hope was a slim one, they had not given it up, as it was all they had.
T'shharaka, a Mahazin, a tall, spindly race, and Matthew, a simple janitor, brought aboard every frigate to perform basic repairs and maitenance. One was a captain, the other a lowly cleaner, but both were equal now, made so by circumstance. The only hope they had left now was maybe, just maybe, another nation's search and rescue crews would find them, which was, undoubtably, a very "fat chance". Matthew sighed, and went to sleep, his tongue peacefull lolling out the side of his mouth. T'shharaka quickly went into hibernation, trying to conserve air, while pulsating a strong life-signal...

IC:
It was a long, low whistle that punctuated the converted assault shuttle's cabin as the mangled hulk came into view; the white, angular craft nudging closer on reactionless drives, as her crew surveyed what lay befor them.
"Poor bastards," Annya muttered, befor glancing back from the pilot's couch, "What 'cha got for us Tim?"
"A few candidate IR traces," the sensor tech responded after a minute, "Nothing obvious; nothing aparently hazardous, either, but I wouldn't take that bet. I'm bringing the laser-microphone up now, but it's not like we can rule anything out without going in; she's too big for that."
Annya nodded, "Right; you hear that sergeant?"
"Aye, ma'am," the youthful sounding voice called back, "We'll be ready in five."
OOC:
If TFU wants to try and screw with a civilian search and rescue operation, well, let's just say he'll deeply regret it.
And you're the only one who even responded to my offer, so I won't be trying to recover their people.
Oh, and suprise! My tech may be super-advanced in alot of ways, but we do lag in others; 'life signs' to civilian sensors consist of differences in hull temperature and hull vibrations caused by sounds(voices, breathing, heartbeat, etc), usually picked up with a laser-microphone and run through computerised filters. No 'scan for lifeforms and beam them directly to sickbay' here! ;)
