The Kingdom of Italy

Italy was united.
Sardinians danced on thier shores, Sicillians threw parades, Romans hugged each other with joy, and Venetians cried out of happiness. King Victor Emanuele III had marched his Squadristi to Rome and all other weak republics, uniting them. His pictures were being distributed around Italy, so that even poor farmers in Messina could gaze at thier new king.

But it wasn't all celebrations. It would take some time for the Italian army to organize itself, a cenus needed to be taken, the Pope needed to bless the monarchy, and Italy needed to prove her might. But she had one thing for sure: her flag.

This piece of cloth held the hopes of a nation. Only time would tell if it could hold up the nation as well....
