Hi, there are some facts about my country:

The People's Republic of The Four Serpants is a small, environmentally stunning nation, renowned for its burgeoning Seaserpant population. Its quiet, industrious population of 12 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.
Voting is voluntary, cars are banned, nudity is frowned upon, and it is illegal to make racist remarks in public. Crime is relatively low, thanks to a well-funded police force. The Four Serpants's national animal is the Seaserpant, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the tuki.

Why hello welcome first things first you must decide to be FT (Future Tech and use spaceships) MT (Modern Tech with AK-47's and Tanks) or PT (past Tech with swords) FT is arguablly most fun MT is easy and PT is easiest. PT dosen't have many threads tho I would encourage you to join FT

Hello, and welcome to the fantastic world(s) of NationStates! While you are perfectly free to do just about whatever the heck you want to do with your nation, I would humbly suggest that you read some of the stickies we have here. Among others, Euroslavia's Series of Helpful Hints (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=408855). This sticky has a lot of helpful hints and links to threads with more tips, among others a informative guide in how to Roleplay (RP for short) and other good hints and tips. Good luck!

Oh I disagree, going the low tech way , a mixture of both past tech and madern tech can be great fun!
(Especially if you get a region of nations with higher tech levels that are willing to take you on for your uniqueness and 'specialities')

hallo welcome to the game........FT is fun but expect alot of lasers from space and lightspeed ship popin out of nowhere.....i perfer MT because when someone talks about a weapon and its capabilities i get what they are talken about.plus i love the timeline also what most people do is to make more then one nation so they can do MT and FT.

Hallo to all. Thanks for such a warm welcome. I think I'm a Modern Tech state, though FT suonds quite impressive. I try to simulate the real world as close as i can so MT is my choice. Cotland thank's for the tip, I already read it.

Welcome to NationStates. I reccomend going MT, as it's not so technical and you don't have to sit there for 5 hours trying to think of a name for new tech your making up. Besides, AK-47's vs. G36's is fun. If you need help setting up a military quickly, check out the storefronts around the forums. Leafanistan's storefront is very good, and if you need cheap equipment, try the Pudite storefront. If you need stuff in between, try mine, Asgarnieu's, or other ones you might find. We hope your enjoy your stay, which hopefully will last longer than 1 week. :p

Wow, greetings you all :) I'll accept every help i can get "immoral and corrupr" :) I think it is too early for my to go to war, but my police and Department of the Interior would be very glad to update armoury, besides, I have yet to overcome very hard challanges of everyday life. That would probably mean that your nation is not updating properly. You should probably request help with that in the Technical forum.
