It was a normal day at the base. Atleast as normal gets for a goverment hidden base. one the topside it looked like a normal military place. It even held tours for teenagers or people wanting to sign up for the Zackarothian army. But below the surface there was very interesting things happening underneath. Development of new weapons,cars,and other stuff were being researched. Go deeper and things get stranger. Theres talk about "A huge portal" found underneath and the the first test is about to take place. No one know were this supposed "portal" came from. Hell only a few in the underground knew about it. But at times...things were shipped in highly classfied boxes. The last person who opened a box was never seen. Sciencdetists from serveal other nations have also helped Zackaroth in its research yet only a select few only know about the portal. A forgien sciencetist relased from the base told the press about it only to be found murdered a few days later. Ever since there has been wandering eyes at the base.

On the day of the testing thats when it went to hell. The base is connected to the catacombs that run all under Zackaroth. Big mistake. There was a huge boom that was felt but yet nothing was seen. The military leaders investgated but not even the underground base was harmed but there was no answer. Not for long though. When they tried to get a response gunfire and screaming was heard. Something had gone wrong...

People were in fear and the High-leader had to make up a lie about it being an under-ground missle silo and ther had been an accdient. A military team was sent in but never heard from again. This time there assmebling another team but are asking for the nations that helped send and fund sciencetists to help. Things were only getting a alot worse...

OOC: If you want to be one of thenations that sent sciencetists and funded the " Portal Project" or the PP just say it in here or TG me.Either way it doesn't matter but I will make an OOC thread nesscary. Other nations can interfer but a reasonable excuse has to be put in as in spies or satelites.

After hearing of the explosion in Zackaroth, Duke Paul called up his Foreign Minister.
"Brennan, it's Paul."
"Oh, your highness, how may I help you?"
"Have you heard about that explosion in Zackaroth?"
"Yeah. Supposed to be some sort of missile silo explosion. The funny thing is, they're asking for troops.
"Troops?"
"Yeah."
"That's kinda strange...by the way, didn't we have a couple scientists down there?"
"Yeah, two engineers from Riker University, as well as a total of five from private research institutions that tagged along."
"Have they been heard from yet?
"Not at all. I'll have their institutions contact them."
"Yeah. There's some pretty strange stuff going on down there. Oh, and in response to their recall for troops, I'll talk to General Gambreo about that. We should have something ready, just in case."
"In case of what?"
"I dunno, just in case. Oh, Brennan?"
"Yeah?"
"Does anyone know what thoes scientists were working on?"
"Not a single clue."

If possible, I'd like to be a nation who had scientists there. This sounds like something from The Cave, or some horror/sci-fi movie.

The second group was already moving. They got the trucks but this group was much smaller. they needed those forgien troops. Supplies were running low since the team before them tokk most of them. Private Rick jones was nervous. He felt something was not right. It was getting near night. They were near the base. Only 5 miles. Rick thought he heard an inhumane screech. The hair on the back of his neck rose...

OOC: I know. Just remined me of some movie for some reason, and the thing that popped into my mind was the Cave. King Kong, that's what I was thinking about... Or was it? Anyways... Oh and can I send in some security teams?

OOC: yeah you can. just be sure to meet up with the Zackaroth forces in there little camp near the base.

A B-94 packed with two 15 man security teams, decked out with the latest in SkyCapt military tech, circled the base's landing strip*, awaiting clearance to land after requesting permission to do so.

*Assuming you have an airstrip

Clearence was given. It was a medium sized landing strip. The zackarothian military were used to setting up airstrips and did it quite nicely. Night was slowlying falling over the desert nation. This year had been an uneventfull one at most since Zackaroths second civil war and most military men were happy to get into action.

The men hopped out of the idling transport, and were met by 2 SkyCapt scientists and a few Zackarothian men. "Where's the other scientists," A team leader asked. "We don't know," A scientist replied quietly. A nervous tone could be detected. "Where do you need us," the other team leader asked a Zackarothian officer...

" There are transport cars ready to be driven. It might take awhile. Were waiting another hour for another nation that may help us. If they dont show we might have to leave some men behind to wait for them. We pray we dont" said the officer.

The security men looked around, and spread out, trying to get some rest. The team leaders were talking with the Zackarothian men, telling them that another transport was on the way, with 2 more security teams like this one. They were scheduled to arrive 2 days from then, and hoped to meet up with these teams - or whatever remained of them.

An hour later top officers annouced one team would stay behind while the others would go on. The cars started and they drove. It was 8:00 and the soilders were getting ancy. Some held M-16 or other sub-machine guns while other held pistols. This was due to the supply shortage.

The security teams were tense. All gripped their AR-20's tightly. The support guys were lugging around their huge LMG's, while everyone was helping unload supplies from the recently arrived second transport...

Colonel John Cantalin sat back in the helicopter as it sped towards the country of Zackaroth. His was at the front of a small group of aircraft that included two other helicopters and three C-130s. He hoped it wouldn't be too late for the Rikerians to get involved.

Sudenly the convey stopped. They had gotten word that the other nation was coming. They 3 miles away from the base. They could wait.

Back at the camp they hurridly set up the last of the men and perpared for the copter to come.

The men were waiting. The team leaders were once again in discussion with Zackarothian officers, asking what they were doing now that 4 Heavy Security teams were here, and that another nations men were coming. They had more men, which could mean bigger exploration teams into what the SkyCapt men had nicknamed 'The Pit'. Suddenly 2 soldiers said they could have sworn they heard screeches from down below. "Ok, what exactly are we getting into," Team Leader Nelson asked...

The men wait anxiously. Over the hills torwards the base they heard small brusts of gunfire. The officers wanted to go but they were stuck waiting. One cart though at the front went ahead to scout the area.

Colonel Cantalin viewed the troops as they exited the aircraft. There were only 184 combat troops, but they were all the government could sneak away without too many people actually knowing. Parliament didn't even know about the operation. In addition there were a number of support staff on board, such as physicians, as well as plenty of ammunition. He didn't even know what to expect. He just hoped that 184 of the nation's finest soldiers was enough for now.

I'm sure 184 is enough... ;D

The men stared at the 184 troops, the supplies, the medical personnel, and other stuff get unloaded. "You think we have enough to go," Asked a team sergeant as he stood next to some Zackarothian officials...

The officer nodded as the carven started moving again. The base was insight. There was many hangar type buildings and barracks. As they got closer they suddenly stopped. Infront of them was the car they sent but it was flipped over. Two men were sent to investgate. They looked under the car. Bullets were spread on the ground but inside the car was a bloody mess.

The two men returned shaking there heads. Soon the car was moved away and they kept moving.

Some of the Rikerian troops started to get nervous. As they passed the flipped car, a few started murmuring among themselves. Cantalin turned around and stared at them, and they quieted down and proceeded towards the base.

The men were riding in the Zackarothian vehicles when an inhuman wail was unmistakably heard by all. Even the toughest men turned pale, and the greenhorns nearly fainted. "What the h*ll was that?!" "..." "That sounded like it was underground!" "Think it cam from 'The Pit'?" The men continued to converse while other nation's men were doing the same...

" It was probly the machines down there!!. If there was a explsion then some maybe still running but broken." said a person as they entered the base. It was dark. The base was illumanted only by the building lights and some lights on the outside. Suddenly there were bullets sprated in there direction. Infront of them there were bullets unmistakeably from sub-machine guns. The Zackarothian men were taken by surpise and some fell but they quickly fired back at the unseen enemy.

Even Colonel Cantalin was starting to get a bit scared. As soon as the enemy had begun firing his soldiers, however, he immediately toughened up and ordered for them to fire back. Luckily, only about two Rikerians had been hit in the first volley. However, with the enemy pretty much unseen, the colonel was getting starting to wonder just what was going on.

Suddenly the fired stopped. The men turned on there flash lights. There were about thirty dead enemey soilders. They looked human but there skin was dark and pale. The men slavaged whatever ammunation they could. They traveled to the entrance to the facilty.

"What the..." "*quick, rapid breathing* Wha-what the heck are we doign here?" "We have to find those scientists!" "Well, count me out!" "Chicken..." "Well I'm a smart chicken," said one of the soldiers wit ha weak and nervous smile. "Come on, follow the Zacks." "I'm going topside. See ya later." "We'll be sure to bring you a souveneir! Will a rock do?" "Very funny..." The 2 soldiers went up top, while the rest continued on into the dark. As they went farther, strange sounds could be heard. "This is like some Indiana Jones movie..." "Got that right." The team switched on their flashlights when they reached a pitch-black room, and all gasped. Human skeletons were on the ground. "What the?!" "This isn't good." "I knew somethign was going on!"

Topside....

Suddenly all the lights in the base go off. Theres a sudden loud screech and a red fireball comes out of nowhere and and is trown at them. Behind them to gates to the underground base is locked.


Underground. " Its nothing... maybe they go burned or ahah!!" said the man as something grabbed hhim from the cieling. There was screech and blood poured on some of the men. They started firing franticlly at the cieling.

"Ahh! Oh my gosh!" The men, screaming, fired into the ceiling, bullets tunneling deep into the rock. "Stop! Stop, hold fire! You'll cause a cave-in," ordered an officer, who had somehow regained control. The scene was traumatizing. A huge explosion had gone off topside, and now something had grabbed one of the party. It was a nightmare.

" CALM DOWN YOU IDIOTS!!" said the sarge. " Ok we need to move ahead. Then we spilt to up because there are two paths. were still on a mission. no mater how dangerous. We need to get to the Delta labs" he said firmly as the groups moved out.

"Which one do we take?" "The... Um... Left one." "Su-sure." "Let's move out." The trudged on into the darkness, their flashlights playing beams all over the tunnel. A skeleton was on the groudn to the right, and there was dried blood on the ground nearby. "What the?" They said a group of soldiers were sent down not even a month ago!" How would this be dried up? There should at least be some rotting flesh - Unless..." "You mean something else iis down here?" "I don't know..." The men moved on, this time a tinge of primal fear touched...
