Location and Geography:
Arabanistan is located in the Middle East. It is made up of the former nations of Syria, Cyprus, Lebanon, Isreal/Palestine and Jordan. The capital city is Damascus. Other main cities are Tripoli, Dohar and Amman.
The climate is moderate along the coastline with ample vegetation. However the interior of the nation is made up of desert.
Politics:
President: Hafez al Assad
Parliament: People's Assembly. 300 seats, all BASP held.
Ruling party: Ba'ath Arab Socialist Party (BASP)
The BASP is the ruling party of Arabanistan, a position it has held ever since the creation of Arabanistan, during the unification of the old Arab nations.
The BASP ideology is Arab nationalism, anti imperialism, non-Marxist socialism, support for a mixed economy, but with the state having a monopoly of all major industries and trade sectors. The BASP also aims to unify ALL Arab nations under a single, united Arab nation under the total control of the BASP, which is the vanguard of Arab unity.
The BASP has it's own militia, the Popular Army (PA), which is seperate from the armed forces and is under the DIRECT command of the President. The President holds the rank of General within the PA.
The General-Secetary of the BASP is President Hafez al Assad.
The BASP membership is 1.3 million strong.
The PA is 80,000 strong.

Geopolitical objectives: The first and dominant aim of Arabanistan with it's dealings in the international community is the unification of all Arab nations into one united nation under BASP rule. To achieve this aim, the BASP and Arabanistan will make alliances with ANY nation to further Arabanistan's own interests. Arabanistan does NOT oppose any political system in other nations, as long as those nations are of use to Arabanistan's own national interests and the aims of the BASP.
In most wars, Arabanistan will either take the side of the winner or work for a diplomatic solution. However, Arabanistan will take the side of an ally if it is attacked, even if the odds are against a Arabanistani victory.
Arabanistan preferes nations with dicatorial governments from the point of view that they are more stable and their government will last longer than a democracy. Democratic governments may be on good terms with Arabanistan, but that could change overnight due to the election of a hostile regime in the said nation.

Arabanistan is made up of Arabs (81%), Jews (11%), Kurds (6%) and Blacks (2%).
The dominant religion is Sunni Islam, but ALL branches of Islam are tolerated, as is Christianity and Judaism.
