OOC: Modern Tech Azaha? Help me decide.

Azaha

Right then.

School has almost started again, and around that time more MT nations start to pop up, while the FT subsides, barely. To prepare for the MT'ness of the forums, I will be dualing Azaha in the MT earth, and also FT galaxy, but their pasts and histories will be completely opposite... as right now I am a ravenouse swarm of bugs bent on the death and destruction of anything in their path.

I would like to direct you to http://nseconomy.thirdgeek.com/nseconomy.php?nation=Azaha. This has all the income budgets and where money goes etc etc. Based on these facts, I would like some help deciding what MT Azaha would be, since I sort of suck at these things, and there ares some of you out there that can make great sense of information like that.

Is Azaha a rick or poor country?

How big would it's military be?

How would I RP a 42% budget in police force? Huge police force?

Those kinds of things. How much money is at my disposal.

I already know that eventually, with almost no budget in anything else, I would perhaps get a revolt on my hands. I know this much, but how would things start out?

Please help me out, anything you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

From what I see... you might get the lower rumblings of Communist revolution. High unemployment, no welfare programs. It might get incorporated into a freedoms revolution platform, however. They'd have a tough time fighting a military with 4.6 trillion dollars at their disposal - you'd have at least half a million soldiers who'll fight the front lines. Pretty well funded, but with over 15 million unemployed and possibly homeless, any charismatic leader could whip them up to fight to the death - your soldiers will have a hell of a fight. I'm sensing an epic revolution RP.

I ignore thirdgeek for the most part, I just RP Krieg as a poor state with a huge military budget (for a third world state) and a method of government that suits me (as written in my guide to my government which is in my signature).

In short, do what you want.

Well, lets see...

First off, you have to realize that MT players will hound yo ass if you get even a single detail of your army or infrastructure wrong. It makes for a major headache.

If, however, you do decide to do it, you need to figure out if you are a US nation or a Russian nation - high tech, low numbers vs low tech, high numbers. In my experience, there is no viable middle ground.

Every other descision you make has to be based around the core concept of your nation type. For example, you will need your entire police force to be paramilitary in a Russian nation, where you would need only a small unit of paramilitaries if you go US.

Different philosophies also govern your descisions. Communism goes well with Russia, Capatalism goes well with US (although with a few modifications it could be Facist), and so on.
