The construction of the Galaxy-Dreadnought Re required such massive amounts of resources that the Ankhmeti Offensive Navy had to be dissassembled iin order to provide sufficient resources to build the massive cruiser. In order to reconstruct the fleet in as short a time ass possible, the fleet ship design office had to do some creative thinking. The result is the ship designated the 'Earthling' class light cruiser. Made out of surplus parts nuclear weapons, the 'Earthling' class is small and has a tiny crew requirement. The ease of control means that drafted civilian crews can be tought to use the simplistic control systems within two months of being drafted. As such, 50 of these ships are expected to be completed within the next month, and will be stored until the crews (30 men strong) can be trained.
SPECIFICATIONS
Weaponry:Each ship carries 50 MX warheads, and has 4 powerful point defense lasers.
Engines:4 Ankhmeti Proton Boosters propel the 'Earthling' class at a respectable speed, enough to keep up with most comparable alien ships. Due to the need for a ship that could be quickly produced, these are situated in nacelles, in a somewhat exposed position, and as a result are more armoured.
Shielding:Instead of energy shielding, old solid armour is used, but is augmented with new technology that makes it just as good as energy shielding.
Supplies:The 'Earthling' class is designed to work from the huge hangars of the 'Re', and as a result carry only two weeks supplies.
