PNN Update: Sepritist Movement Granted Atonamy

PNN Update: Only five hours ago the sepritist group that had been plauging the council for the last few years has finaly been granted atonamy from the Shadow Realm of Phalanix. The area in question is the Western province of Destiny that has been made up of millions that wish the leave the Shadow Realm and begin anew as a fresh nation.
However this wish came at a brutal price. Only one hour ago the brand new GFAS-X1 Destroy (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=437740) was sent out to the province escorted by several new units and proceded to obliterate the cities on the outskirts and is currently moving inwards to the capital city of the nation to reclaim it as a Phalanixian territory
More on this story at 11 O'Clock.

City of Edelbrock, New Nation of Destiny
The GFAS-X1 had already begun its assault on the city firing off it's "Aufprall Dreizehn" positron cannons obliterating the once bustling population center. Gathering at the feat of this hulking beast of a mobile suit a single infantry regiment waited their turn to enter the population center under the cover of the new assault units.
It only took five minutes of concentrated fire before the first waves of aged VF-14 Pulsar fighters were launched from what remained of the airbase in the city while soldier that were stationed there attempted to regroup and mount a counter-attack.
However once the VF-14 fighters reached the GFAS-X1 some attempted to fly over it only to meet face to face with the positron deflector as their fighters impacted and exploded adding to the already brutal battlefeild. At the same time Destiny soldiers began an attempt to destory the GFAS-X1 only to meet with the regiment of infantry waiting for something to do.

Destiny City, New Nation of Destiny
In the hastily selected council building the leading officals of each area had gathered in an attempt to define a course of action.
The ministers were each in a diffrent degree of shock at the footage of the X1 Destroy in action obliterating staic defense stations in seconds that would have taken hours of fighting to claim.
"They're monsters..."
"That thing is a monster..."
"We have to call for help and rally allies to us."
"Yes and swiftly. At the rate it's making progress we're going to be the tenth city hit in the next day."
"Alright I'll put out a call for aid."

Subject: Requesting Military Aid
Message: We the ministers of the nation of Destiny are in need of any assistance in efforts of repelling our invading mother country.
Just only seven hours ago we were granted atonamy from the Shadow Realm of Phalanix and only four hours after we were granted atonamy they proceded to begin an attempt to annex our new nation. As it stands they have employed a military juggernaught and we have been unable to stop this beast from decimating our cities. Already millions have died in the attacks and our forces are worthless against it. Since we lack anyform of a weapon powerful to defeat it we are calling out to the international comunity to hear our plea and come to our aid.
Included is footage of this beast in action.

Destiny
The X1 Destroy had already obliterated any true challenge permiting the Advanced Combat Infantry regiment to enter the battle ravaged city so as to remove the remaining infantry and tank threat. The urban combat however wouldn't be anything to massive as the moral of enemy troopers withering with each passing second at the sight of that beast hovering in the middel of the city.

The threats you utter have no meaning as we view them as hollow. It will be interesting and rather enjoyable to remove the threat of your existance from this world. This is your last warning and as it stands and for the sake of your people we suggest you retract your threat or we will enjoy crushing you like all the others that have stood before us.

Paladin City, Phalanix
Already the Military Council building had brought the Dragon anti-missile grid online to 100% activness. At the same time forces were being mobilized ranging from the simple rifleman to the most advanced Elite. Outposts in the Northern Wasteland were brought to a level ten status alert and all forces were being equiped with heavy type assault gear.
"Finaly something enjoyable to do other than that ever so dull peace."
"Yes and we can finnaly have something to test the X1 Destroy serries on."
"Yes. At last we can also begin the deployment of the Destiny unit."

Phoenix, Phalanix
Under the massive remains of the mega city several secret military instalations had been built or repaired to house the most advanced and expensive projects the Phalanixian military was building. Inside hanger number fourty a small group of armored Elite troopers escorted one pilot hidden inside a flight suit hiding any features. They led this person to a relativly new unit code named Destiny so as to ensure that no unauthorized personel wintessed it's launch or attempted to steal it.

Destiny City, Destiny
Already VBR-5 variable fighters had begun a bombing campaign on the city depositing several bombs while firing off rounds from their 67mm auto-cannon's into the city.
Even before the assault force would come the city would become Earth's link with hell.

The sound of chairs scraping on polished floors filled the large hall. As in unison the most powerful men and women in Rotovia arose to honour the President's entry.

"LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC..." The affirmation the President had heard a hundred times that day, and again every day sinc ehe entered office.

"...take you seats..." With a simple gesture he indicated they should sit both promptly and with more care then when they arose.

"Thank you Mr President..."

"Have they withdrawn...?"

"No, your Eminency..." A woman in Naval Uniform beat her superiors to the punch.

"And the state of our Navy?"

"Ready..." Began an Admiral od significant rank and even more significant weight in medals.

"...however if matters in Rebeland come to head, or the Cretian revolt again, or the situation in VSI becomes more crucial. We may find our home defences stretched..."

"That doesn't of course, mean we shouldn't settle this matter..."

"...would the Senate even aggree to pass Supply on this? We're talking about a naval deployment on a massive scale... the Treasury would be significantly drained and we promised a surplus this year..."

All eyes turned to the President, who appeared more intrested in a dossier then the arguements that were about to break out accross the imposing table.

"Inform the Speaker I will be addressing the Senate, if they want war they will have it. Ready the Navy..."

"LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC!"

(( OCC: Ok a quick lesson on Phalanix geography since you're using a navy to attack.
To the North of Phalanix is a 300 kilometer wasteland that has several highly radioactive areas as well as twenty five foreward defense outposts in the first 200 kilometers and five outposts ever 50km after that.
To the East and West of Phalanix are mountain ranges that cut off almost all trade through them with the exception of those crazy tourists. The Eastern range houses a large variety of military bases as well as two special forces training centers (Angels and Legend Division). To the West several nearly empty AE bases currently sit and are being renovated for use by the Legend Division and the Angels.
To the South almost all of it is covered with cliffs, artilery stations, and airbases with thee exception of the exact center where the only port in Phalanix exists. It is protected by thirty small outposts with MAC-II G Monster units and VBR-3 Shadow Hawk VLOT fighters. The inner most islands are armed with anti-ship missile systems and have direct links to the three military bases in the Port city of Paradise.
The nation is made up of five provinces. Hell's Gate (North), Destiny (East), Paradise (South), Shadow Knight (West), and Paladin (the center).
Hope that helps ya
IC:
Paradise Island Defensive Line
The main command island was in the center of the last row was the nerve center for the defenive forces stationed on each of the 30 islands.
Already with threats of war the outposts were being brought up to a level eight alert status. MAC-II pilots had already been woken up, breifed on the situation and set on stand by alert.
Each island had a cover of trees around them so as to help hide their deadly inhabitants that awaited the coming enemy.

Destiny
The prototype unit for project Destiny had already made it's way to the province it was named after with several other units that were to help resuply the Destroy and the infantry regiment attached to it.
Only after meeting with the X1 Destroy it already had to deal with minor pockets of resistance geting their hands on old artilery and mobile assault units that had been left in the hands of Civil Defense Forces.
The GFAS-X1 Destroy and it's infantry regiment had stopped at the Infernal military base. It was already abandoned and still fully stocked with supplies though the needed personel were in short supply.

The ministers were still in shock at the toll that te X1 had taken on anyone and anything that got in it's way. The video footage from the VF-14 Pulsar that had been used as a survalence fighter had shown the hocking firepower of the Destroy and gave a good reason why it was being called the Destroy.
"This is a joke...we can't hold that thing off while only one other nation comes to our aid," the Defense minister said as he placed his glass of whisky down.
The latest footage had left the entire group of ministers pale and in fear. As the display changed to the real time map of Destiny showing the desimation of the GFAS-X1 and it's forces with the current military lines and small surviving squads making attempts to return to the front lines.
"I'm gonna officaly state it. We're doomed," the minister of health said as he got up and started walking out of the room, "I'm escaping and I'd advise you all do the same."

-President Leto Raelthorne

Winterfell, Menoth
The debate in the senate had been long and fierce, but Leto had finally won the full support of the senate in taking action against the tyranny of Phalanix. Now, he was going through the long, painful process of figuring out exactly how that was going to be done.

He was sitting in a small meeting room, deep in the bowels of the governmental building. Also sitting at the table were the Ministers Foreign Affairs, Hajjaj Zuwayza, and of Defense, Arhan Durandal; the latter accompanied by the Lord Commanders, the most heads of the military.

"I have just gotten the approval of the senate for a military move against Phalanix if they refuse to back down. From what we've seen they've no intention of doing that, so we need a plan of action. Ideas, gentlemen?" Leto asked, starting the meeting.

"Sir, Phalanix is heavily defended, so any full-scale invasion or the like is out of the question. This means that our best bet is to simply do our best to fortify Destiny and perhaps push them back from their current positions," Durandal started. Leto nodded for him to continue. "To that end I advise mobilizing First Army division and the First Armada. In addition we should mobilize the several units of the Rapid Response Division as Destiny's situation is deteriorating quickly," Durandal finished, stern and direct as always.

"It sounds like a good plan, and it's certainly the best we've got at the moment," Leto agreed, "Alright, put things in motion, I want things ready to move as soon as Phalanix declines our ultimatum. Get going," he finished. Durandal left the room, giving orders to the Lord Commanders as he did so.

"Hajjaj, I want you to prepare for any international backlash that our actions could cause. I also need you to set up further dialogue with Destiny, we especially need an appraisal of how we will be able to get our troops in there and their own military situation, such as it is. Also be prepared, just in case, for the Phalanix to accept our ultimatum," Leto instructed the minister, "Now get to it."

Hajjaj left, leaving Leto musing over his decisions.

The actions of tyranny will not stand unopposed and the voice of justice will be heard.

Furthermore, forces shall be drawn from the Rebeland blockade to ensure a speedy victory in this matter"

As the President switched of the telivision, the Minister for Defence disappaering he hoped to God she was right. For soon they were to be drawn in a war with The Parthians, the colonies were revolting in Crete and Western Carthage. Forces in Rebeland were spread thin as it was from the nine year blockade, the Navy was needed in so many campaigns many in the government secretly moved assests offshore in fear of result an invasion of a near defenceless nation...

We will not remove our forces or bend to your pressure. As it stands if you wish to help build more islands in the defensive line with the bodies of your soldiers then by all means travel to our nation and we will willingly supply the bullets in wich to end your forces lives.
If you want to know why we are not removing it is due to inteligence gathered about an attempted strike against Phalanix.
In the past Phalanix originaly annexed it's mother nation after the five states recived atonamy to grow to it's current size and thanks to inteligence gathered we have learned of Destiny peparing for such an attempt. So as a result this is a premptive strike to remove such a threat and to reclaim the territory as our in as a sign not to abuse our trust.

Paradise Defensive Line
Anyone looking at the thirty islands could see the massive influx of additional forces and the fact that small portable platforms were being dragged in to help add more MAC-IIG Monster Destroids and other defensive systems to the line. Even futher back the last remaining carrier's were sitting in the port being loaded with fighters and ammunition to help supply the line.
Around the port warehouses were being emptied and bunkers built to help increase the defensive level of the troopers stationed there.
Recon planes were flying almost 24/7 just outside the territorial waters waiting to pick up any enemy ships to report them in, tagg them and provide firing locations for the artilery to rain down on them.

Western Mountains, Destiny Boarder City of Hudson
It had been a long stressful day as the few troopers that had seen combat were busy training the reservists on how to deal with the Phalanixian forces even though they had over four generations of more advanced weaponry and more numbers.
Inside the bunker that protected the city from the forces in the Western Mountains it was boring and cold.
"Hey pass me some of that whisky," one of the troopers said to his partner as he sat leaning against a old couch that they had dragged in to make it more comfertable when on watch.
"Ya hang on," the other replied as he tossed him a half empty bottle of brownish liquid.
The first man took a swig and shuddered slightly as he felt the fluid burn all the way down warming his shivering body up.
"Hey we got someone aproching from the pass," a third trooper said as the other two sets of eyes turned on to the figure dressed in black heading their direction.
"Hey you..," was all that the first trooper could get out as the three stepped out of ghe bunker before the figure pulled a new model XM "Raider" pistol and shot the man in the head. The other two who were still fresh out of basic training were shocked at the speed of the figure though it gave the figure enough time to kill them in the same mannor.
"This is Agent Nox. The boarder is clear for moving in the 'evidence'," he said into a small communications unit he wore on his head.
Behind him several vehicles drove past the boarder and into the city. They looked like any other kind of military vehicle unless one looked inside and they could easily see the "evidence" that would help prove Destiny's "guilt".

"The First Armada is moving into position as we speak, the First Army Division on board, and I have already mobilized several more units for a supporting action should we need it," Durandal, the Defense Minister, stated simply.

"And what of the Rapid Response Force?" Leto asked, diving quickly towards more pressing matters.

"They should already be making their way across the western border into Destiny. I managed to secure two regiments to be airlifted across the mountainous, and undefended, border. They also will have full areial support from one of our carriers in the area," Durandal answered, slightly proud at his effictivness.

"Very good," Leto agreed, "but we will need more troops to mount a truely effective defense. Get as many Rapid Response units in there as soon as possible."

"Yes sir. I should be able to get several units of supported paratroopers in, enough to hold out until the main force arrives," Durandal replied. Taking note of a nonverbal signal from Leto, he rose and left.

Airborne, to the west of Phalanix, approaching the borders of Destiny
"We're almost there, boys," said the sergeant, as he prepped his men for landing. They were just this side of the Destiny border, almost there.

The sergeant finished looking over his men, most of them combat veterans, and, once satisfied, made is way up towards the cockpit. "How much longer?" he asked.

"We'll be at the border in a few minutes. We're expecting some direction from Destiny's military command after that. We barely notified them we were coming before we lifted off. So, I have no idea how long till we land, but it'll have to be within the hour, fuels getting a little low," the pilot answered.

"Alright, thanks for the info," said the sergeant, grateful.

"One last thing," the pilot added.

"I'm listening,"

"We're not expecting any trouble, and we do have an escort, but make sure everyones strapped in, just in case,"

"Thanks,"
As the sergeant left the pilot turned his full attention back to the controls, glancing over at the radar and seeing their formation of dropships and interceptors. He glanced back up at the window and flew them onward.

Western Mountain Range
The bases that made up the Western Line were still active though they had a diminished capacity for dealing with internal attacks their external defensive systems were still active.
Inside one such base the defensive systems roared to life as unauthorized heat signitures that lacked a Phalanix ID code.
On the ground under small mounds of snow pinpricks of heat could be detected before missiles and accelerated slugs tore out through them with ease towards the heat signitures.
The further they would get the denser the defenses would become.

Destiny, Infernal Base
The X1 had aready started to move once more as anti-air support was deployed with it in the form of a single AA landship.
They had already started moving after establishing a military force in the base to help set it up as a fall back point and a launch pad for futher attacks.

New Destiny City
The bombing raids had turned the Eastern section of the city into a radar void where the DDF had no radar. As a result a single relativly new Sparrow stealth dropship had been sent into that area. In it's belly it carried atleast seven people in what looked like a new moddel of armor. Their weapons were also relativly new borrowing from the XM serries that was still in testing but was cleared for feild use.
As the dropship decended on the top of a short building and the rear hatch dropped. The troopers mached out and let the dropship take off for the base it launched from.

In the meeting room the remaining four ministers (defense, finance, transport, education) had stayed behind finialy had cleared through the messages to recive the one from Menoth.
"At this rate I doubt any help will do...," the education minister said as she slumped over onto the table suffering slightly from a lack of any rest since the bombing began.
"The more damage we can inflict on those bastards the better. We have to make them pay for this," the defense minister responded as he covered his glass while the roof of the room quaked sending down a small cloud of dust.
"Great looks like if things go to hell we'll have at least some place to live out our days" the finance minister said as he tired to lean back in his chair and watch the situation reports on the map.

This is unfortunate. We had hoped for a peaceful resolution to this conflict, but that seems to be out of the question now. You have forced us to resort to more painful means.

Also, we are still not convinced of your "evidence". As soon as you recognized Destiny as a soveirgn nation they ceased to be an "internal" matter and thus became an international issue. If your foreign affairs department failed to realize this then they are more blatantly incompetent than the average two year old. And I'd like to add my personal thanks to that "damn news station" for bringing such injustice to the wider international community.

Above the Western border of Destiny
"Okay, just another few minutes till Destiny City," muttered the pilot to himself as he rechecked the insturments for the thousandth time. As he looked over the heat sensor screen it burst to life. "Holy shit, it's lighting up like a christmass tree!" He keyed the radio, breaking the silence they'd been ordered to maintain, "The grounds hot down there, I've got multiple contacts, we're flying right into a shitstorm," the pilot shouted into the mic and as he drove the aircraft down and to the left, taking evasive action.

All over the sky aircraft darted about wildly, doing everything they could to outguess the AA guns on the ground. As slugs left barrels, target locks pinged, and rockets ignited; flares burst and chaff drifted towards the ground. The countermeasures were very effective, a number missiles missed their targets completely and some of the AA cannons tracked completely irrelevant targets.

Unfortunately not all the aircraft were so lucky. Some exploded even as they rolled and dove. Some evaded one missile only to be torn apart by a fusillade of AA slugs.

The aircraft weren't entirely defensless however. Some of the escorting interceptors broke downward to strafe the emplacements with cannon fire, constantly viffing about to avoid return fire. Some were armed with heavier weapons and bombarded the ground emplacements with flights of rockets.

By the time the night was over the troops were through and ready to begin landing in Destiny City. But there were many dropships that would not be landing.

It already seems that your force has started to suffer losses even before they reached the little trouble spot. And if we wished this to become a international problem we could ahve simply removed the threat via our large collection of "probelm solvers".
As for the comment about our forign affairs department. They've heard worse coming from a government who sent perfectly good men and woman to their deaths and some to suffer a fate worse than death.
And about PNN. Already that little news station has had the problem "rooted out and removed" so I doubt you'll have anyone to thank there.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Though several mountain AA systems were totaled the Phalanix forces had far more surprises than that little light show for the mountains wouldn't be the only problem for the troops attempting to assist in the defense of Destiny.
Only seconds after the first missile had left it's tube airflight had been alerted and pilots that were waiting for the moment to come were ordered to their planes and permited to take off from the captured airstrips.
The flights were small in numbers though a massive amount of fighter weren't needed as the AA defense system did it's job nicely. Though another reason was due to the fighter's weapons. A pair of tri-barrel 45mm smooth bore auto-cannons moutned on their backs, ten small seakers, and a nasty loadout of ECM systems designed specificly for making enemy pilot's lives hell.

In the city however thigns were going to hell ever more each passing moment. The latest bombing run emplyed the use of naplm over the more troublesome areas of the city litteraly cleansing the areas by fire.
In the central district of the city fear had spred to new levels as rummors of Legend shock troops infiltrating the city began to circulate. The citizens had seen what happened before with the rebels on the Crystal collony when Legend forces were deployed. A small squad had litteraly brought the defenses to it's knees before ODP's were rained down from the PSN-S Earned In Blood II and the stronghold city was razed by the elite troops who showed no mercy at all.
Thanks to such fear and panick riots were starting all over the city and troops were being called back to deal with the rising threat from the rioters to turn into "freedom fighters".

Having finally made it out of that storm of AA fire he had thought he was in the clear. But things were about to get a whole lot worse. "All aircraft, I have multiple enemy interceptors heading our way," came the report from one of the forward escort craft, "Things are gonna get worse before they get better."

As the first of the enemies planes made contact with the vangaurd aircraft the remaining escorts dropped in the afterburners and shot into combat. The dropships on the other hand burned upward, attempting to make their way over the combat, still with a few escorts in tow.

The dogfighting was fierce with planes all over the place and explosions lighting the sky. With their missiles made semi-useless by what seemed to be an exstensive suite of EMCs the Menothian pilots soon dropped back to their nosecannon, which proved more than enough against many of the enemies craft. Their own EMCs, though not as effective as the enemies, still saved a number of planes and their high manuverability saved even more, the new "viffing" system proving quite effective.

With the dogfight raging the dropships attempted to hop past it. Though some of the enemy fighters noticed and were able to disengage to follow the dropships most were stuck in the dogfight. The dropships continued onward, drawing closer and closer to Destiny City.

The first of the Rotovian Battleships appeared on the horizon. They filed the air with smokes as they launched a barrage of sparkle shells, a naval tradition of lore.

On the first of these ships Fleet Admiral Helena Baccheus stould firmled on the ships mighty deck.

Sea breeze brushed her hair, straw like and course from a sailor life. Her jackets whimpered in the breeze. The traditional black leather coat of the Rotovian Navy ended just above the ankle, where the wind forced droplets of water to gather.

"Full Stop!!!" Her skrill cry echoed off the barreled guns to her rear. Though the intent was more than the headpeice mounded to her cap would deliver the order to the armada that she commanded.

And here they would sit. Just tens of meters from a the border of Phalanix.

The fighters came in low and litteraly shot up from below with their 50mm auto-cannon's roaring aimed directly at the dropships. Missiles were released before they shot over the dropship as jet black blurs
The other fighters were fairing not so bad as the flight had mostly been mad eup of novice pilots. Counter measures were being sprayed across the skies as the fighting intensfied.
The few planes that went after the dropships had saved missiles for the task at hand as they let lose what few salvos they had left before switching to the dwindling auto-cannon ammunition.

Within the boarders planes could be seen flying and waiting for them to cross into Phalanix territory to begin to deposit the lethal cargo they carried. Though recon flights they still were armed with the standard 45mm auto-cannon that could easily tear through just about anything thrown at them.

OCC: Sadly I lack a map of Phalanix but it's been on my to do list as soon as I can spare the time from my projects. Though I did post the geography of Phalanix alittle before and I'll repost it again for you.

Ok a quick lesson on Phalanix geography since you're using a navy to attack.

The few escorts left with the dropships intercepted the new threat as they began their climb upward. With the advantage of height and some surprise, being partially hidden by the dropships, they faired well against the few fighters sent against them.

OCC: Some quick clarifications on numbers and such like.
The current air landing consists of two regiments of rapid response troops, about 4000 men in 100 dropships. Their escort consists of a carrier's worth of aircraft, approximately 40 MST-46 Stormblade Fighter Bombers, 40
MG-84 Gunmage Small Attack Planes, and 40 RF-11D Archangels

Also the first armada is in position, just outside your waters. It consists of:

2 Severius Class Aircraft Carrier
4 Menoth Class Battleships
6 Paladin Class Destroyers
8 Crusader Class Frigates
6 Redeemer Class Missile Support Ships
200 Revenger Class Small Attack Vessels
100 Repenter Class Small Attack Subs

The appearance of the VBR-4 fighters resulted in a higher level of oppostion as auto-cannon slugs roared out the three barrels on each side of the fighters as sme fighters peeled off for more ammo and repairs.
The VBR-4's began another attack run as they released more ordanance

The city was in pure chaos as the bombing runs continued. Overhead bright lights could be seen dropping into the city. Some would dismiss it as lightning or fighters being shotdown. Around the sites where these lights hit any person could see that they wern't remains of fighters but ODPs. Anyone that actualy saw the pods were already dead as the seven troopers that landed only hours before had taken postions as to cove the impact zone an provide cover for the ODP troopers.
Only three hundred kilometers away the X1 Destroy slowly trudged across the small city firing off it's positron cannons into a skyscraper obliterating it and causing the people below to scatter and flee for their lives.

OCC:
Just to clear up the VBR-4's that just appeared are super sonic transformable interceptors (think the fighers from Macross/Robotech). And the VBR-3's are msotly made up of mass produced fighters as well as several varriable fighters used by veteran pilots (totaling at about 45 fighters)[The vetran ones have a third belly auto-cannon for use in the other modes].
If you're wondering about how I got this I'm FT (an no I'm not gonna go orbital or ruin the RP with one of my super weapons. Only thing coming from orbit would be a few salvos of Orbital Drop Pods)

The dropships, having finally broken through to Destiny City*, began landing, jets flaring as they settled to the ground amid the streets and buildings of the city. They immediately began disgorging their deadly cargo.

Two regiments worth Rapid Response shocktroopers, in full battle armor, stormed from the dropships and began securing the surrounding area and linking up with other landing groups. They also began setting up temporary bases around the dropships, which unveiled numerous peices of support weaponry to help defend the bases. The troops dragged out peices of heavy weaponry from the bowels of the ships and set up a powerful defensive line.

Some squads were sent ranging ahead, trying to find any Destiny troopers or contact with the Destiny government.

As the escort drove off the last of the interceptors they dropped in and landed around the new bases, ready to provide air cover for the new positions.

Though they had met extreme resistance on the way in the landings had still been succesful, if with extreme casualties.

OOC:*I'm assuming this as you didn't RP any more plane attacks or defences.

Extreme casualties means that there are currently 3600 troops on the ground, along with 50 MK-66 Katana Class Mechs. There are also 30 MST-46 Stormblade Fighter Bombers, 25 MG-84 Gunmage Small Attack Planes, and 30 RF-11D Archangels left from the escort. Most still have ordinance left though many are battle damaged.

On the subject of tech level, I'm PMT but not quite at the point of FT so your stuff may be more advanced, but not by a whole lot (I'd assume). Also I want to make sure you realize that bullets kill just as dead as lasers.

The fighters after a point seeing that the fighting was geting pointless as their weapons and fuel were dropping rapidly began to depart from the combat zone to one fo the airbases nearby for resuply, repairs, and refueling.

Inside the city in the Eastern district all contact was lost only thirty minutes after the first pods impacted. ODP troopers had already captured the distric command center and were still engaged in heated fire fights through out the complex.
"Hit the deck!" one of the ODPS trooper's screamed over the com as he lumbered out of the door way with a XR-50 auto-cannon held in his hands. Down the hallway a small group of Destiny soldiers that were dug in behind a thick wall over cover opened fire through the gun ports they made. The 8.5mm rounds mostly pinged off the jet black armor's torso sheild* as the trooper opened fire cutting a line through the wall with the 15mm slugs and tearing the defenders apart.
It only took a swift kick to the barracade for it to fall to the floor before ODPS troopers that carried XR-45**'s rushed in to the small room shooting the last remaining threats.
"This is team alpha all noted threats are exterminated," the trooper that carried in the auto-cannon said into the com to the trooper in comand of the situation.
"Alright return to the CnC room and bring the rest of the squads. We are getting reports that enemy forces have landed in the Western distric. We're supposedly going to recive more forces within the next three hours

A small squad of troopers from Destiny had been watching the dazzling display of combat in the sky when dropships and interceptors began to land. Fear took hold as they saw hundreds of troops pouring out of the dropships that landed. They clutched their weapons and did their best to hide in the burned out building they were in hoping and praying they didn't have another enemy to contend with.

Military Council Building, Paladin, Phalanix
"Hmm. I want a small task force deploid in the Eastern distric of Destiny city and bombing runs using plasma warheads to be used on the Western distric. Be sure to use stealth systems in the Shadow Hawks when bombing as the interceptors wern't able to remove most of the threats though they did inflict heavy losses, so they won't be to large a problem," one of the council members said to the others.
Of the ones there simple responses of agreement were said as an aid headed off to issue the orders.

OCC:
Oh I know that. Bullets can kill just as good as rocks and lasers.
My primary infantry projectile is still bullets (but far more effective than current ones) though every now and then a energy weapon (plasma almost 95% of the time) is used with infantry though they are mounted on my vehicles mostly.
* Personal sheilds are only given out to officers who are actualy worth the equipment
** XR-45's are the latest generation of multi-rifle that incorperates standard projectiles and energy projectiles in one weapon. It has two modes. With the mode that fires off 13.8mm slugs a rifle barrel is extended out of the main body of the gun. With plasma projectiles the rifle barrel is retracted and two points extend and generate the plasma. Often underneat the rifle is a mini-morter that fires off plasma packs that will turn a 4m spot into a superheated glass hole.

As the temporary bases began to take form the com officers began cycling through com frequencies, trying to get a message to the Destiny soldiers. Each broadcast was as follows: "Soldiers of Destiny! This is a broadcast from the forces of Menoth. We have just landed and are here to help you. We need to set up communications with you so that we may better fight the forces of Phalanix. Please respond."

The scouts continued to range ahead, looking for soldiers from Destiny and getting the general layout of the city.

Transmissions were also sent back to the main command center in Menoth and to the armada assembled outside of Phalanix. These reported that the landings had succeeded, though with casualties, and that they were ready for reinforcement.

Hundreds of kilometers away, plans began to move.

-------------------

Winterfell, Menoth
"How did the landings go?" asked Leto.

"We met far more resistance than expected on the way in, but the landings have been made, albeit with casualties," Durandal answered.

"What about the rest of the Rapid Response troops, and the First Armada?"

"We are about to land another regiment of Rapid Response, along with more supplies and air cover. In addition, the armada is ready to begin trying to fly in more troops and supplies to the troops already there," came Durandal's response.

"Good, get on it,"

-----------------

Once more dropships flew towards Phalanix. They were flying at almost their operational cieling and running as stealthily as possible, the same went for their escorts.

They were taking the same path as the last force, hoping to use the weakened point in the line of AA defences to their advantage.

The fleet of ships blasted through the night, straight towards Destiny.

OOC: This force is the same size as the last one in terms of aircraft, however it is only delivering one regiment of Rapid Response, the excess ships are carrying supplies and machinery.

A few nasty surprises had been hastily set in place waiting for any new ships that attempted to enter Phalanix airspace. Directly on the moutnian top overlooking the valley below a set of five terra type plasma cannon's sat waiting for their sensors to pick up unidentified targets and fire on the largest ones.
Below in the valley a summer storm was extracting it's vengeful wrath upon any of the occupants rendering almost all ways of navigating it useless. Along with being a navigational hazzard the ground level AA was unable to opperate thus leaving the mountain based AA systems up to the task.
As the storm reached it's peak generating all kinds of havoc for anything not high enough the furthest radar station picked up the dropships faint signal. It relayed the information down the defensive line letting the targeting AI take over and fire when they felt it was time.
On the mountain top the five plasma guns were being cooled further to permit their existance to remain hidden before the plasma was pumped into the barrel and the magnetic feild took over.
The smaller auto-cannon's chambered with stnadard VBR-5 50mm slugs were up to the task of removing the fighters.

((When you first passed through the AA based higher up were unable to gain a firing solution due to poor angles of attack and the storm that was brewing around them before it moved in the the valley. And I'll leave when the plasma guns open fire up to you))

In Destiny since almost all lines of communication with the main base were severed, with the exception of command posts and operatinal bases, the troopers were paranoid. They knew of the ploys that Phalanix had used in the past were warry of the fact that they could be members of the PAF using the cover as a ploy. Most still hid from the new force hoping and praying that they wouldn't be found.
((Feel free to find em at your will and yes you can rp their reactions [mostly just fear]))
In the central district the ministers had relocated in a bunker under the city hall. Though outdated by Phalanix standards it provided some measure of protection.
"We're fucked. We're bloody fucked!!" one of them screamed as he paced back and forth while the others were ether laying on one of the many couchs in the large room or pacing themselves.
"Calm down damnit. We arn't fucked! Before the black out occured we recived word of assistance coming and all we can do now is hope for it," the defense minister responded. The whisky's efects had worn off after a few seditives were injected into himself and the minister of finance who was passed out on a couch.

In the air outside of Phalanix
"Here we go," the pilot murmered to himself as the fleet approached the are where the first landing force had started getting hit by AA. He checked the screens fervently for any sign of resistance. He could get no readings at all from the ground to to the storm under them and got back only the normal readings from the mountains just under them.

Then the IR screen lit up and warning lights flashed. Instinctively the pilot heaved the craft left, trying to dodge. He heard a number of curses from the troops in back as anyone not buckled in flew about the room. As he saw a blazing ball of plasma race past the cockpit he knew there was going to be a lot more cursing before the night was over.

As soon as the plasma cannons had activated the escort fighters had dove towards them, hoping to both distract their aim and get close enough to do some damage. Then the conventional AA opened up. Many fighters were destroyed before the pilots even knew what was happening. Some rained fire upon the plasma cannons before pulling out of their dive straight into the sights of the AA cannons. However many of the fighters managed to dodge out of the way, surviving the AA barrage and coming out of the dive low, to strafe the positions.

The undamaged plasma cannons continued to fire and did some severe damage to the dropships. The dropships didn't want to wait around in this any longer than they had to and kicked in their afterburners, rocketing forward, away from the plasma cannons

The Menothian Command Center, inside Destiny City
"Sir, the reinforcements are on their way, they just crossed into Destiny," reported the com officer.

"Good, those extra troops and supplies would be most welcome," the Colonel replied, a rare smile on his face.

"Wait, repeat that," the com officer said into the mic. "Yes, sir."

"What is it?" the Colonel asked.

"They've come under fire sir and the drop commander thinks Phalanix might have some interceptors for them, once they clear the mountains. He's asking if we could provide them with some extra air cover," the com officer said, relaying the information.

"Alright, tell them that I'll have some cover for them when they get out of there," the colonel answered, after a pause for thought.

As the com officer relayed the response the colonel called over one of his aides and sent him off to make sure that the planes were ready for launch. He planned to have them up in time to greet anything that Phalanix had prepared for the reinforcements.

----------------------

In Destiny City
He rushed over to the next building and drew up against the wall, beside the door. The rest of his squad followed quickly across the street and into the alley where they surrounded a side door to what appeared to have been an office building. They were pretty far out from bases by now and were being very wary of an enemy presence.

Sergeant Luther turned from his position and faced the door. "Ready men, we're going in quiet and quick, we don't want any Destiny soldiers surprised into firing on us. Keep at ease and don't fire unless fired upon. Stay watchful though," Luther told his men.

He tried the door and found it locked. He backed up a pace and delivered a solid kick to the lock. The door easily gave way and he burst in. He quickly scanned the room and saw what looked like bedrolls and packs splayed out on the ground in a semi-organized fashion. The equipment looked old and beaten and he guessed that it belonged to soldiers of Detiny.

As his men followed him into the room he removed his all encompassing helmet, wanting to seem as human as possible if he was to encounter any allied troops. He walked though the next doorway with his gun held loosely in his hand, not leveled at chest hight; though his men followed completely combat ready.

The next room was empty, but he thought he heard movement in the adjoining room. "Hello?" he called out. A helmeted head poked around the corner and, seeing the heavily armed squad of unfamiliar troops, popped back. "Hello?" Luther tried again,"Soldiers of Destiny, we are from Menoth and have been sent to help you hold your city. Please do not veiw us as enemies, we are here to help." There was no response, but Luther did hear fervent talking from the other side of the wall.He slowly approached the doorway, placed his gun on the ground, and walked through.

The Destiny soldiers were startled and turned their guns on him immediately."No," Luther said, his hands out in a gesture of peace, "we're here to help."

The soldiers looked far from believing any such thing, but one of them lowered his weapon and gestured the others to do the same. He then came up to Luther and stuck out his hand, which Luther took, and greeted him. They conversed for a while before their two squads both stood in the room completely at ease. Luther got down to the important buisness of finding out how to contact the other soldiers and the Destiny government. The first seeds of a true alliance were being sown.

They were right and wrong at the same time. Only a single flight of interceptors were waiting. Though they had orders to "bug out" once the fighting became to frenzied.
Realy they were there to draw any airsupport away from the base in Destiny. A dirty ploy ment to made the already hard earned territory even more costly. It was almost ironic calling the opperation Earned In Blood.

Just a short five minute flight away from the city five VBR-4 Shadow Wraith's sat waiting for the green light to take off. Outside the planes ground crew members were rushing to afix the Mk. 4 plasma bombs. After all of five minutes the bombs were afixed and timers were quickly linked up with the type D AI* in the bomb and a quick test of it's sensors was done.
About five seconds after the test a message scrolled across the fighter's screens reading "Upon comfermation of the interceptors from Destiny renforcing the coming forces you will launch and use your afterburners to reach the city deploy your payloads and leave. You'll have fifteen minutes to get in and out."

Inside the city the small group of soldiers had started to explain how all communication with the front lines had been lost as well as with the Eastern district. The fact that the city was in such disaray that any compitent offensive would be crushed before it even was attempted. It would probably be a better choice to just turn tail and run than stay and fight due to the horrible moral and the looming threat of a nuclear strike**

OCC:
Sorry for crappy post need sleep (had no sleep night before)
* A type D AI is about the dumbest they come. No talking and no personality. Just the will to complete the objective of detonating the bomb when it can do the most damage. They'll impact like duds then go off ranging from under a second after impact to a max of five minutes.
And the bombs can only turn a roughly 30 meter area into a little hell (about 15 meters is turned into a glass hole and the other 15 is where extreme heat and a heavy dose of radiation will occure. Further back the less extreme it is.
** No I'm not nuking the city or nation just a threat from Phalanix to help devistate the moral.

In the air, between Destiny City and the mountains
"We should rondevous in two minutes, we're almost out of the mountians," came the call over the radio, "We seem to be past the worst of the AA and we're expecting the interceptors any minute now."

"What a surprise they have in store, when we fly right up their ass," replied Stryker, laughing.

"Yeah," the dropship pilot laughed back, "See you soon."

A minute or so later the radio barked again: "We've found the interceptors," the dropship pilot called out, not sounding the slightest bit tense. As Stryker prepared to kick in the afterburners the dropship pilot cut in again: "It's wierd, there are a lot less than you guys had to deal with, we should be able to take care of them. You guys might want to head back to base, conserve fuel and such. Besides by the time your here it may even be over."

Stryker pondered for a moment, stuck on indesicion.

------------------------

Destiny City
"Sir," called the intel officer,"I think we might have incoming."

"What?!" the Colonel said, rounding on him, "What's going on out there?" He practically raced over to the radar screen.

"I'm not sure sir, it doesn't look like much, but the signatures bigger than anything else that should be up there. If I had to guess, I'd say they're probably stealth bomber," the officer answered, becoming a little nervous as he thought of what was coming.

"Shit!" the Colonel exclaimed. "Almost all our interceptors are out flying cover for the next landing. Get me Captain Stryker on the line!" he veritably shouted at the comm officer. A microphone was placed in his hand and he barked into it: "Stryker, turn around! We've got incoming back here and need air cover."

"Yes sir, we're already on our way back."

----------------------

The bombers arrived, shooting over the city, and began to release their deadly cargo. Many released on precisely the right targets, cratering a few of the landed dropships. Others seemed to be confused as to where to drop their bombs, as they hit completely irrelevant buildings. Some never got the chance.

Going full speed, afterburners on, Strykers interceptors came screaming in. Only a few of his craft had had the speed and the fuel necessary for the afterburner powered trip back, but what came was more than enough to wreak a terrible havoc on the assualting bombers.

----------------------

Despite the fact that they had managed to scramble some interceptors back to take on the bombers the ground forces had sustained damage nonetheless. Several command positions had been completely wiped out and the troops assigned to them temporarily without command.

However the boon to this was that the small fighter force sent to stop the dropships had folded on gone home after doing a minimum of damage and the second landing had arrived with both the reinforcements and supplies that would be even more useful now, after the bomber attack.

----------------------

OCC: An update on numbers and such. I now have three regiments of Rapid Response in the city, approximately 7000 men. I also now have much more serious vehichle support than before, as a portion of the new landing were carrying tanks and such. So for vehichles I've go: 75 MK-66 Katana class mechs, 15 T-7 Gilgamesh Heavy battle tanks, 10 ML-90 Light Fire Support Vehichles, along with some light artillery. I also still have the armada just off your waters. If you take issue with any of my numbers please tell me and I'll adjust accordingly.

Over the Menoth Base
The bombers had only begun to return when the interceptors had attempted to stop them.
"Ah hell I think one took out my tail rudder's logo. Why the hell do they always hit me there?" one pilot complained over the com system.
He got a few chuckles as a response before the flight leader came on, "Oh shut up. If it wasn't for your horrible bombing we'd have managed to level the main centers of that base. Now we have to resort to using the bigger weapons. Besides others also took hits back there so quit bitching!"
"Well my flight controlls are shot so I'm shifting to hybrid to help regain some stability."
With that the bomber on the furthest left of the formation dropped altitude and its thrusters moved as the body of the varriable bomber shifted and arms sprouted out of the main body and the thrusters started to become legs. It hovered for a moment before speeding up in an attempt to catch up with its flight.
Below the minsters that were attempting to escape were scampering like rats towards the city's emergency hanger. "Damnit! I knew this was a bad idea one of them complained as he sat on some rubble as the escorts were rnning ahead to check if the building was clear. Over the com system they heard the signal and ran into the building and towards the elivators.
"You'd beter have not forgotten the code to get down there," one of them snarled at the leader of the group.
"Hang on," he responded before typing in a code in the key pad just below the buttons for the floors, "Got it."
The elivator they were in began to decend into the darkness of the shaft below them towards the emergency hanger.
"We should have brought the escorts," one muttered as she leaned against the back wall of the elivator and closed her eyes waiting for their decent to finish.
When the elivator finaly stopped the doors opened and the ministers could see a young girl that looked not a day older than twenty sitting on a cargo container.
"Hey you, what the hell are you doing here?" a minster cried out to her as he exited the elivator followed by the others.
The girl started to laugh quietly as the elivator doors closed and the elivator could be heard acending. It was only then that they realized escape would be impossible. She was an agent and they were dead.

Ever since he had reported finding the one destiny army squad, Luther's squad had been tasked with using their contact to find even more Destiny soldiers. If they were lucky they might even find some sort of command element. Luther doubted it though, the soldiers were extremely disorganized.

In any case they were still looking around for more soldiers. Every now and then they'd find a squad and with the help of the squads they'd already found convince them they were friendly and the force surrounding them would swell.

They'd found about four or five squads when HQ called.
"Luther?" came the Colonel's voice.

"Yes sir?" Luther answered, halting his squad so that he could continue the call.

"We need you and all the squads you've found so far start making your way towards the eastern district, that's where we think the enemies main strength lies and we're making a major offensive. Keep looking for more troops as you go and meet up with us here," the colonel ordered, sending a set of coordinates to Luther's helmet, indicating the assembly point.

"Yes sir," Luther answered.

"Get going."

Luther explained the situation to his men and they started off towards the rendevous point.

In any case, the assualt on the Eastern sector looks as follows:
4000 troops, of which 200 are scouting ahead, and 500 are my elite.
50 MK-66 Katana class mechs
15 T-7 Gilgamesh Class Heavy Tanks
10 ML-90 Light Fire Support Vehichles
and however many Destiny troops I can get to join.
