The Unveiling of a Revolution in Naval Power

The Camden Bay skies and facility sat characteristically quietly in the mid afternoon sun, Work had temporarily been suspeded for the unveiling so even the dull noises normally heard muted fromt he shipyards themselves was gone. Camden bay was a nice area, the workers were specially chosen, all married, many with children, the area was beutiful, with pristine beaches untouched by development for the enjoyment of workers on their time off or the workers families. Today though was a resting day, not many knew why the entire complex was shut down for the weekend, or why inflatable buildings had been brought in and erected in the images of fancy upscale hotels. Even some of the workers who had helped build the MCVs were ignorant of the unveiling to take place.

Soon the peace would be shattered as the aircraft roared in from all corners bringing visitors and observers to see the next generation of naval warfare.

(Guests are still welcome although complimentary transportation and housing is no longer available, there is plenty of room for guests and more hotels can be inflated if necesary. Feel free to post your own arrival but tommorrow I will be posting a unified 'arrival/introduction for the event.)

Two men and a women approach wearing the very identafiable colors of crimson and white, the colors of the Holy Empire of Ninhursag. There were two men and a woman. The woman was about 6 feet tall with flowing blond hair, and royal blue eyes. The men that followed look like Friar Tuck, except in white and crimson instead of brown and the other gentelmen looks like and normal military man. The woman said, "I am Sister Mary Angelise, this is brother Samuel Creedence, and this is Colonel O'Conner with ONNI(offiice of Ninhursagian naval intelligence). We are here for the unveiling of some sort of machine. Would you please tell them we are here."

as soon as the plane landed the 5 ambassadors in a orderly line exited the plane and boarded a watiting limosine, The limosine then departed the airport its destination the hotel to check in. The limosine then pulled into the front of the hotel and the passengers began getting out. Then stepped out a extermly attractive woman in her late 20's she had long blond hair neatly pulled back and wore a light blue dress shirt and a short blue skirt, her eyes were a light brown and her face was a light tan. Followed by a naval intelligence expert wearing a black coat with a black tie and black pants his hair was a dark bron and neatly combed, he wore a pair of glasses and carried a small briefcase. The three men then followed a naval general wearing full decorations wearing a standard dark blue dress with a dark blue dress hat with his four stars on his sholders gleaming in the bright sunlight. the other two were wearing dark grey suits with black briecases. The group then becan walking to the front entrance lead by the beautiful woman and the men following closely behind. They then walked to the man at the front desk and the woman began talking to the man "hello, I am Emily Sanchez head of the Tokera naval research and intelligence, and we are the representatives from the Tokera to attend the Unveiling. I believe they are expecting us"

The Airport at Camden Bay had never seen so much traffic, aircraft landed in an almost continuous stream and if the arrivals hadn’t been carefully planned and timed the few terminals would have been overwhelmed within an hour. The terminals had received a massive work over, reversible wall panels had been installed in various colors and styles matched to the culture and history of the nation from which the guests were arriving. Between arrivals there was often less than ten minutes to rearrange the decoration so the decorators had to move very quickly, despite that everything went off without a hitch. Guests were greeted in their native tongue by guides that spoke it fluently, escorting the various military contingents to their vehicles, fully accommodating of any security measures the visitors saw fit. Mondothian security was little in evidence, a man in dark clothing might be caught running from one concealed doorway to another or the ‘workers’ on the control tower might stop what they’re doing long enough for a trained observer to pick out a sniper rifle amidst the clusters of antennae.

The guests were chauffeured to hotels that had been erected in hours by dedicated crews working the high pressure air compressors and ensuring the structures inflated properly (A technology soon to be available through The Nine Military Storefront). The Structures were inflated wit high pressure air and didn’t so much as twitch, a V-22 could land on the roof and the buildings would take no more notice than if they had been made of the native stone the pretended to be, inside it had taken weeks for the decorations and furnishings to be arranged correctly, tile, hard wood, lush carpets, every room was tailored to the nations from which its occupants were from. Every room had an ocean view, but none had a view of the harbor area and its accordant shipyard facilities.

That night a formal diner was served by chefs specializing in the cuisine of over a hundred nations, the chefs would be on hand for the entire three day long event. The next day would consist of guided tours of the non sensitive and commercial portions of the shipyard, beach time for any who wished to unwind and swim in the warm seas of Mondoth’s south east coast, and various martial expositions, from sword fights to demonstrations involving Mondothian special forces and an air show featuring the ‘Gold Hawks’ The Mondothian Air force’s show and demonstration squadron. That night would be the unveiling, a multi hour show was planned involving the entire first production run of ‘MCVs’ and afterwards a formal presentation followed by a question and answer session. On the last day limited tours would be given of the ships themselves followed by a farewell lunch and the various representatives would either depart or stay behind and discuss the purchase of the shipyards at Wuller and Farthing’s newest creations.

Ninhursag:The man at the check in desk reacted with a face obviously gifted with excessive expression. "Ah yes, the MCV, very exciting. Your luggage will be taken to your room, It's still early so while we wait for the other arrivals you may inspect your room, go relax on the beach or one of the many recreational spa's erected for this occasion or just look around the area."

The Tokera: "Yes, Your plane was one of the first so while we wait for the other guests you may look around the area, feel free to enjoy the private secure beach, any of the many spas or just wander for a while, you will be notified when we are ready to begin. Your room is ready as well if you wish to rest there. Your luggage should already be there."

The Gulfstream V landed with the squeeking of her wheels at the Tarmac, and taxied to the free gate. the Grand Duke was able to get out as first, even before some of his military advisors. when he saw the screens with the Van Luxemburgian flag, he got almost hysteric. "finally someone who recognises our country!" he said to one of his advisors in Letzebuergisch.

The Aircraft carrying the Ambassadors from DAKKADAKKA42 fianlly touched down and the stairs were rolled toward it. A few moments later 4 men and a woman in full dress uniform appeard and steped down the steps to the waiting limosine.

After a few minutes drive they arrived at the hotel they would be staying at. They strolled to the desk and a man in the uniform of an admairal of DAKKADAKKA42's fleet said "Good afternoon, I am Admiral Sterling, This is General May, he is Vice Admiral Stoner and those two are mine and the General's aids Lieutenants Cluggan and Hammond. We are here for the unveiling of the 'MCVs'."

Commander Pierce sat in his reclining seat, trying to relax. Many troubles weighed heavily on his mind. He had been against going to war, but in the end, he and other members of his staff were overruled. "Uh, sir..." He opened his eyes quickly. "Yeah?" "5 Minutes till landing sir, I suggest you buckle up," the co-pilot spoke quietly. "Yeah, OK," Commander Pierce said, rubbing his forehead. He was nervous. The plane touched down, and the door opened, revealing a set of stairs built in. He got up, walked to the doorway, and put on his sunglasses, blocking the glare of the sun. He shrugged off his nervousness, his worries, and stepped off the plane. He got inside the terminal, and was startled by the SkyCapt designs on the walls. "Wow," was all he could think of to say. Decorators came up, and switched the walls as another group of passengers walked in...

The airliner didn't have its wheels down, and landed, skidding off the runway into a nearby field. The plane promptly turned on its side and exploded. Soon another plane landed and as the Leafanistani Observers stepped out they wondered why the automated 707 felt the urge to crash. Of course the Tactical N.I. unit would soon be recovered from the unmanned airliner to determine why the craft that Sierra Visions Inc. had sent crashed. They were glad that all it carried were a bunch of Sierra Visions Inc. monitoring crap and industrial espionage equipment.

Admiral Sandra O'Toole and Captain William Dietz were the most prominent. Their armoured dress uniform's tungsten fibers gave off a glint in the sun, contrasting with the pure white of the uniform. Their hammer and sickle's shined in the sunlight, and their campaign medals also glowed. The bodyguard's sunglasses became very useful as they nearly blinded someone extending a stairwell to the plane. Captain Dietz quickly apologized as the Admrial eyed his uniform. Dietz was immediately nervous and walked up to a large screen with the Leafanistani Flag on it, and to the person standing there waiting for them.

Dietz: "Sorry about the other plane, it is a piece of junk marketing tool, we'll pay for any damages to that uh...empty field...."

O'Toole: "I'm sure we get a hotel room together right?"

Dietz: "Two beds, *nervous laugh*"

O'Toole: "Wouldn't want to have an awkward situation right?"

Comander Pierce had watched the incident with awe from a terminal window, and wondered who and how many people had died... A man walked up, looked at his curious and pale face and said, "Uh, that plane was empty, you know." "Oh." Commander Pierce looked at the spectacle with a curious look, then walked away. "Interesting," He remarked...

Emergency crews were on the scene in seconds. Quickly using a variety of techniques and equipment they discovered that nobody had been injured, as infact there was nobody aboard (Mondoth AIrport EMergency response crews use a variety of methods including simple human/dog searches, EMsystems tuned to the electromagnetic field produced by all animals (espscially the frequencies which Human Produce, but don't worry about this one showing up in war or anti terrorism, its big and expensive and only works sometimes) and IR systems. The fire was extinguished with a variety of flame retardant foams and designed to preserve the crash scene (No water or corrosive elements to cause rusting or shortage of electronics) And a small security team was dispatched to secure the wreckage. In less than ten minutes one of the tents that had been meant for errection over the parking and vehicle loading area incase of rain at the hotel was instead erected over as much of the crasg site as it could cover to avoid spooking foreign delegates.

Van Luxemburg: A guide stepped up to the Van Luxemburg Delegation smiling and said in fluent Letzebuergisch
"Indeed sir, We have made a special effort to make every delegation at home for this event. Now, if you will please follow me your Luggage will be taken to the Hotel ahead of us."

DAKKADAKKA42: The representive smiled diplomatically. "Of course, if you would please follow me, your luggage will be taken care of."

Leafanistan: The representative was not exactly smiling but he was obviously trying. "Of course, Accomadations have been made, if you find them not satisfactory there is plenty of time and space for making changes. No need to appologise about the crash, It will be Taken care of I'm sure. Now if You'll follow me we can chck on your rooms and you can recover from the flight."

SkyCapt: The Representative had a downright serious look on his face.

Captain Dietz was most pleased how everything turned out, and walked to his hotel room. He laid down his bags when he spotted Admiral O'Toole removing her clothing. He turned out of politeness and felt something on his back. Sandra shoved Dietz onto the bed, he quickly scrambled onto the floor and was pushed up against the wall, he was shocked at how strong she was.

O'Toole: "Don't you want to play?"

Dietz: "Eh...euh.....urrrr...."

Sandra released him and he fell 1 ft down to the floor.

O'Toole: "I have my needs..."

Dietz: "And we are supposed to be professionals witnessing an unveiling of a ship on behalf of the Glorious Republic! Now I may not be as progressive..."

O'Toole: "Everyone is that progressive! Its the Glorious Republic, we have public sex permits for crying out loud! You're just a prude..."

Dietz: "Look, find someone else, I know of your reputation..."

O'Toole: "That is classified! Besides...I served the Republic on those missions. You are not a target of ONI."

Dietz: "Still scares me, is it true what you can do with just your legs..."

O'Toole: "How about you find out just what I can do."

Dietz blushed, he backed into the door.

O'Toole: "Fine...I'm sure someone around here is man enough."

Dietz: "HEY! I may be a bookworm Captain but..."

Dietz stopped talking, O'Toole had redonned a service uniform, and walked out, she stuck her tounge out at Dietz. Dietz blew a raspberry, an attendent walked by and made a passing comment about them acting like a married couple.

The FN-P90 os a bull pup configured SMG. I'm not familiar with the FN-303 but calling something less lethal usually denotes a chemical (such as tranquilizers), Electrical (such as Tasers) or Kinetic (such as rubber bullets) round. Any of which are designated for non lethal self defense and croud control but under adverse circumstances (such as firing blindly into a rioting crowd or reflexively firing in self defense) can cause permanent injury or death.

IC:
A 737 landed at the airport it's F-133 escorts asked for permission to land and refuel before heading back to The Silver Sky.

Admiral Steven Peterson of the 2nd Fleet and Admiral Caitlyn Anderson who was head of the SEALs training stepped out they we're followed by 3 un-armed guards, the guards were trained in 20 kinds of martial arts and genetically(sp?) modified from birth to be nearly 3 times as strong as the average man, they belonged to the Helljumpers, an elite group of SEALs, trained to do anything and everything, thier M1 combat suits increased thier strength by nearly 2x, but even though they were trained from birth they could party like no other and known for thier jokes and pranks on each other and regular servicemen.

Both the Admirals were dressed in standard officer uniform, a white shirt with their medals and awards, both had three stars on thier sleeves and hats to denote their rank, Admiral Peterson had white pants while Admiral Anderson wore a standard white knee length skirt. He was about 6'3" and she was 5'11" both were well built and athletic. He had Short spiky black hair and she had upper back length strawberry blond hair. Her eyes were blue and his were brown.

They loaded into a cab and headed for the hotel where the other reps were.

After arriving they walked up to the hotel desk and asked fo 2 rooms, one for the guards and one for the reps.

OOC: Skipping right to the unveiling, if anyone wants to RP the shipyard tour and airshow I'd be happy to right it up but right now I want to actually unveil these things.

IC: The Unveiling took place in the Sea Trial Observation center which, besides featuring enough seating for the delegates and some powerful presentation equipment (usually used to wring some extra budget out of the Government) also featured a very large panoramic window that covered the entire wall facing the ocean just outside the ship yards where ships built at the extensive facility took their first hours of completion to ensure that all the systems worked. Currently the view was empty but for a beutiful red/purple sunset refecting off the water and smearing the sky with vivid color.
The delegates filed in quickly and took their (comfortable) seats while the Wuller and Farthing 'Lights And Magic' crew finalized the sound and lighting set up on a low stage infront of the huge window. as the crew finished up and left the stage the window dimmed as if it were some giant blinking eye and the lights were dimmed in the room. After almost a minute of nothing happening the lights suddenly snapped back on and a youngish man was standing on the stage infront of what could only be a MIthril class MCV Battleship. The SHip floated in the water just outside the window which in addition to having electropores which alloud the transparency to be regualted, was also speciallly shaped to make things look larger from inside. and this was now small ship, roughly the size of a Nimits class carrier MIthril bristled with sleek looking gun turrets. the ship itself had an odd look as if an F-117 stealth fighter had some how swallowed a ship. The superstructure arched over the mid rear deck like some sort of weird pyramid, sweeping down into a pair of large outriggers contributing to the oddly sleek look of the ship.
The MC began to speak, his voice unobtusively amplified.
"This ladies and Gentlemen is the Mondothian Naval SHhip: Mithril, A technological acheivement like no other, sporting nine 18 in. guns in three triple mount turrets, eight eight in. guns in four double mounts, eight six in. guns in double mounts and a single triple mount of 12 in. guns this ship is one of the most powerfully conventionally armed ships in its class. Its other armaments include 16 anti ship quads and four CIWS point defense guns. It has hangar and deck space for multiple VTOL fighters or transport craft an runs on Sea Water, yes you heard me, The Mithril utilizes a brand new revolution in Hydrogen fuel cells which allows it to electrolyse sea water directly to hydrogen and oxygen. power for this is supplied initially by a pair of ten gallon H2 tanks to start the fuel cells producing power for electrolysis, once that it underway, the ships fuel cells can produce enough electricity to both power the ship and continue to supply it with Hydrogen and oxygen from sea water.

The Mithril class, as with all of the Family of MCVs features a unique shape which reduces visual and radar signature while providing the maximum space (external and Internal) for equipment. this allows the Mithril to feature larger guns than other ships in its class while retaining a much lower racdar cross signature.
Speaking of guns. Does anyone know how many people it takes to effectively utilise a Battleships main guns? We the Iowa class's 16 in. took 172 men for ONE turret, to aim, reload, elevate, check load, check for problem, issue orders, all kinds of tasks that took a total of 172 men to fulfil. and some of todays superdreadnaugnts feature guns as large af 30 inches which requires even more turret personell. However, the FMCV Naval Gun turrets are not the turrets of one of those SD's, or even of the aging Iowa. instead the FMCV Gun turrets feature a revolutinary new set of systems including a powerful, efficient and reliable auto loader and point and shoot capable targetting/control software. The upshot of these and other systems incorporated into the turrets" Not only do these ship retain an enviable rate of fire, a set of truly powerful shells and the ability to sea and shoot oponents through battlefield obscurants such as smoke screens and radar jamming that give these turrets both extraordinary versatility, but a crew of 2, not a hundred and two, not sevebty two, not forty two even, just two, a gunner and a turret commander to oversea gun operation and status.

OOC: Will post more later, A lot more stuff to do than I planned for today. Please leave questions to the end.

The Speaker looked pleased.
"Yes, it is quite an achievement but that is not all. Ina ddition to much lower crew sizes and a revolutionary power supply there are many more, more subtle systems at work in all of the FMCV ships. For example, all ships in a fleet of MCV's can communicate without fear of interception or detection by means of a new broadband data tranception system using extremely low intensity radio transmissions that cannot be inercepted or even detected by conventional means. this system allows uninterupted communication during covert operations, battlefield jamming and high radio intercept risk situations with out fear of an enemy listening in. A new sensor package incorporating state of the art low intensity radar (based on similiar technology to the commo system) that offers much the same advantages as the radio communication network, the FMCVS (Family of Modular Combat Vessels Senors) also includes multiple thermal sensors, LIDAR/LADAR arrays and a highly advanced passive/active sonar system which affords MCVs with unmatched situational awareness in combat and, in the case of the Mithril and similiarly armed gun ships, yields a targetting capability similiar to such gun systems as the M1A2 Abrams tank main gun. simply designate a target and utilising the array of available sensors the targets position and the corrections necesary to hit it are computed at lightning speeds by the ship powerful computer network and the turret is electronically (Mechanical backups are available in case of breakdown) Provide one shot/one hit capability un available in most modern gun armed war ships.. The Outer hull construction allows easy modification of armor packages up to and including ERA and composite armor systems giving MCV's the ability to become some of the most heavily armored ships at sea.
WHile the gunships and espescially one as impressive as the Mithril are spectacular and imensely useful in modern naval war fare, they are only the tip of the iceberg of the FMCV whcih spans the full gamut from mine warfare corvettes to full blown super carriers (based on a Mithril class hull) and including guided missile ships, amphibious assault ships and fleet defense ships. The various types of ships can even be mixed and matched do to the MCVs namesake modular build. Main hulls and superstructure/secondary hulls can be mixed and matched for any occasion, a heavy gun ship with a full load of VLS missile cells. or a carrier with an organic naval defense system. (As he was speacking more ships motored in to view, including what appeared to be a Mithril class Carrier type ship with the superstructure/secondary hulls of a Mithril class Battleship type vessel and several ships obviously sporting copius numbers of missiles.)
"I will now be taking questions followed bya more detailed explanation of other ships in the FMCV."

The cheif engineer form the Ninhursagian delegates raises his hand, and upon being called issues forth the following statment:
"Sir, I have three questions. The first is how does this ship utilize the salt water of the ocean, without sustaining corrosion damage to the engine? Secondly when you break the hydrogen bonds keeping the hydrogens and oxygen bonded, how do you avoid the risk of an explosion? What I mean is, there is a point where there would be H2, a very explosive gas, how do you contain it? And finally, how does the engine take in enough water to fuel the engine? A car needs .25lbs per mile, I cannot even begin to speculate the amount of water needed to fuel the ship.

OOC: ERA on ships is worthless just so you know...
Leafanistan
23-08-2005, 15:23
OOC: As evidenced by the Hindenburgh, hydrogen is not such an explosive gas, hydrogen burns with a nearly transparent fire, during the accident in New Jersey, the ship burned a bright orange, impossible if the hydrogen was burning, when the great Zepplin finally touched down, it bounced, showing that most of its Hydrogen had survived the fire caused by dangerous compounds used to waterproof the airship. In fact German engineers realized that the waterproofing compounds used on its skin were the same ingredients used in rocket fuel. I'd worry about so much pure oxygen on board more.

As for ERA on ships, its dubious, I believe angled sides would do much better, the ERA would have to be very powerful to stop some of the shells flying around. And a simple tandem-HEAT round or somethign similar could penetrate it.

OOC: I know that ERA on a ship is useles but there are SOME people on NS not so informed, I'm not above unscrupulously taking advantage of ignorance for personal profit.

IC:

Ah. The Engines keep corrosion free the same way any other blue water ship does, a combination of special maritime paint and in some of the more modern ships composite outer hulls. Our engines are particularly well protected against corrosion, The very nature of Magneto HydroDynamic thrusters neutralizes the electrical charge of salt water while it is in the thrust tube itself and keeps the water continuosl moving, in effect creating a self cleaning system. Obviously the thrusters must be replaced eventually, the wiring wears out and despite all the composite construction and corrosion resistant paint eventually vital parts will corrode, thats part and parcel of operating in salt water. To minimise this problem MHDs are easily replaceable, they are constructed and installed in short segments and the thrusters can operate at no signifigant reduction in capacity wtioh multiple sections shut down or removed completely.
As for your other questions. The water in the electrolys tanks is continuously cycled to keep production at a peak capacity. The excess salt produced by electrolysing the water to H2 and oxygen is cycled as wellt okeep the tanks from corroding and to maintain a peak capacity, so comparitively little salt water is stored, the ocean itself does that. As for the explosive properties of Hydrogen and Oxygen. It is true that these two elements are explosive in certain circumstances (such as high pressures assosciated with stroing any large volume in not a lot of space) The continuous availability of these two elements through continuous electrolys means that very little hydrogen or oxygen is actually stored at any time, just enough to restart the system incase of an emergency shut down, these tanks are very secure and it is likely that even were the rest of the hip destroyed, these tanks might still be recoverable, We've taken every precaution. But, just incase you don't want to take our word for it, MCV's are available in Nuclear and Conventional Diesel power as well. Any more questions?

IC:
If there's no more questions. It is now time to describe the unique blend of weaponry and accessories available for the new ships, starting with the MCVs naval main guns.
These weapons are marvels of modern military technology, finally incorporating the lessons learned by tank manufacturers into the very similiar naval main guns, the MCV gun system incorporates a state of the art autoloader, utilizing blow out armor pannels to restrict the damage of a turret penetration and enabling even a severely damaged gun to continue firing, the system also incorporates a variety of LIDAR and thermal imaging systems coupled with a powerful computer aiming system to end the nesecity to fire multiple shots at loinger ranges to gain a single hit. This system works similiar to that of many tanks starting with the M1A2 Abrams, just center the targetting reticule on your target (using a variety of video sights, including thermal imaging sights), pull the auto target trigger (finds range to target and automatically adjusts elevation) and pull the fire trigger. the rounds are true caseless single piece rounds (no need to load the shell and then the powder or any of that nonsense, the rounds are encased in proppellant, reducing size and weight of unfired round while retaining killing capacity) the round's propellant 'charge' has been carefully selected for each round type to yield a maximum flexibility. In addition to this easier to use and much more effective system of firing, the MCV gun systems feature a variety of new rounds, starting at the classic armor killer APFSDS penetrator, for use as a precision weapon against heavily armored targets (like super dreadnaughts and bunkers) these rounds have massive penetration capability, The next new round is a GOS guided shell, using a newly developed system of shock absorbers and hardened electronics, as well as a 'sabot' type system for securing moving parts, this round has increased range and accuracy compared to any other round, however it pays for this increased capability with a much reduced payload. Another new round takes a page from classic artillery, shells capable of delivering a variety of submunitions, from BAT type guided top attack munitions to cluster mines and anti-personnel flechettes this rounds is particularly deadly. And the adaptability of the MCV gu system doesn't stop at multiple rounds, again taking a page from modern tanks, the turrets themselves are easily interchangeable, a triple mount 18 in. gun turret can be replaced with anything from an octuple mount six inch gun turret, to a quadruple mount 12 in gun turret, all the way up to a double mount 22 or 24 in. gun turret and even a single mount 30in. gun turret, to take advantage of whatever ammunition you already have for naval guns and for the particular mission your ship will undertake.
This brings us to the next 'big stick' in the FMCV's arsenal, the guided missile. MCV guided missile systems come in a variety of flavors, startign small at the missile quad, this is a fast response, light attack and defense system, capable of firing, small fast and deadly RAM point defense missiles, the larger all altitude air defense missiles (like the patriot) or close anti air SAMs (like the stinger) as well as a variety of anti shipping missiles (like the harpoon). These agile little missile turrets fire up to four missiles of the loaded type before needing a manual reload, utilizing a turn-back-retractable turret system reloads can take place without crew ever leaving the protection of the ships armor. This system can be made to easily fit any nations standard set of missiles or can be sold to utilize the Mondothian Nautilaus (harpoon remake with bigger warhead and better pentration), Swallow (Sea Sparrow remake (SAM) can be used as ranged point defense missile, standard anti air missile or light anti ship missile), and Kamador (RAM type point defense missile).
The next step up is the anti-missile missile defense system, utilizing a large internal magazine, this small turret can swiftly aim and fire a variety of defense missiles and reloads itself until its magazine is empty, then the ship must be taken to a shipyard or fleet replenishment vessel to reload, this system aswell can easily be made compatible with a nations own standards or can use the standard Mondothian missile set.
After that is the AMLS (Angled missile launch systm) Mounted on the angled sides of FMCVs super structures, these missile systems fire a variety of anti shipping, standof and cruise missiles. such as the shrike (Sunburn knock off, longer range, higher speed), Thror (Even longer ranged shrike, with a larger payload, is slightly slower) and other, similiar missiles (such as the exocet, tomahawk, and SLSM)
The big daddy of all these missile systems is the VLS, capable of loading much larer and longer ranged missiles this system is highly versatile, capable again of incorporating a nations standard missile set, or firing Mondothian standard missiles, such as the Kitsfear type cruise missile (tomahawk clone with longer range, better guidance and is faster), or a variety of smaller missiles (such as the Thror, or Sea Sparrow in air defense mode).

Below the surface, is the vighly capable torpedo tubes, aain utilizing autoloaders these tubes can fire a ery large array of torpedoes, from small noisemaker decoys to large super cavitating and ADCAP wire guided torpedoes, this system recquires no modification to fire a nations standard torpedo set due to a variable diameter barrel and complex autoloader.

Are there any questions on weapon systems before we move on to defensive weapons and sensors.

Mondoth

The exact number of tubes depends on vessel class and type but all ships will have at least two front facing tubes and at least one rear facing tube, Mondothian torpedoes (and most ADCAP and wire guided as well) are maeneuverable enough to nott need port and starboard facing tubes but the larger FMCV classes and BARRIER equipped ships also have super cavitating torpedo 'turrets' which will be explained more in the 'Defensinve weapons' presentation.

If there are no further quetstions... The it is time to present the defensive systems for the FMCV.
"The Family of Modular Combat Vessels incorporates a number of stealthy design features including internally accessed systems, a design method that eliminates extraneuos hatches by making systems such as weapons turrets and radar arrays accessible via internal passageways, the reduction of external hatches vastly decreases radar signature, other stealthy features include the shape and design of the ship and superstructure itself and the inclusion of RAM and RAS in the ships construction. FMCV ships also feature a series of air and water ducts to reduce infrared signatures such as from launching missiles or from firing naval guns (the ducts run through the structure of the gun barrels). Under water the ships use a bleeding air bubble system similar to the old american 'Prarie/Masker' system to mask the acoustic signature of FMCV ships, coupled with the inherent quietness of the MHD thrusters, these ships are seriously quiet. FMCV ships also feature a state of the art towed decoy system, utilizing sound synthesizers, and powerful electro magnets to mirror the signature of the ship towing the decoy.

In Active defenses the FMCV make full use of the new 'Black Widow' Metal Storm CIWS short range point defense system. the 'Black Widow' uses its own radar, lidar and thermal imaging targeting systems to identify and prosecute enemy aircraft, missiles and even artillery even under heavy jamming and battlefield obscurents such as chaff and smoke screens. the 'Black Widow' fires 25mm fragmenting shells capable of shredding enemy missiles and aircraft or knocking enemy artillery off target (Can destroy many HE rounds but this is not guaranteed) the rounds are fired from a multi barrel metal storm ammunition canister, the canister can be automatically reloaded fromt the ships armory and can fire at any rof upto 1,000,000 RPM, the rof is automatically selected acording to the targets size, proximity and type as well as the over tactical situation and the amount of available ammo.
other systems include a suite of active electronics warfare equipment capable of detecting, identifying, locating and jamming most types of radar and a powerful LIDAR detection and jamming array. Barrier type ships also include a powerful laser sattelite blinding array to hide your ships movement from enemy sattelites.
Many FMCV ships also have the point defense missile system, utilizing RAF point defense missile for medium range interceptions this system is fully capable of defeating most missiles (including sea skimming missiles) and aircraft threats as well as enemy artillery (at medium ranges, not advisable in short or close range combat).
Under the surface, the FMC features a Supercavitation gun, firing 40mm light weight supercavitating projectiles this system is capable of intercepting and defeating a high percentage of torpedoes. the system utilizes a blue/green submarine LIDAR array as well as passive and active sonar systems to locate and prosecute enemy torpedoes.

For an additional cost, any 'Black Widow' CIWS system can be replaced with the new 'Avenger' type free electron laser, while the system is highly effective against all manner of threats (including missiles upto medium range) the systems suffers from high power draw (full speed may not be sustainable from engines, radar intensity and range might suffer) and is highly susceptible to smoke and chaff obscurants.
Are there any question on the FMCVs defensive systems and capabilities?

The Avenger is a chemically (Xenon/Oxygen) excited free lectron laser, each system has its own chemical supply, enough for multiple encounters. utilising the same acquisition/targeting array as the 'Black Widow' CIWS the laser is aimed and controlled by a triple series of self deforming mirrors and lenses for superbly controlable beams that maintain their strength over greater distances in a wider variety of atmospheric conditions than most lasers currently available. the system can be used in three modes of fire, denoting three wavelenths, the first is long range/eye safe (effective range: 2.8 km average) this mode utilizes a long wave IR beam that is inefficient at short ranges but increases capability over longer ranges. At ranges beyond the effective combat range, the beam is rated to be non eye damaging. The second mode is visible Blue/green rated to be most effective at medium ranges (1.8-2.4km) this mode of fire is not eye safe at any range. The final mode of fireis UltraViolet, highly efficient at short ranges, this mode is eye safe at ranges far beyond combat ranges but not eye safe for ranges simply beyond combat range.
The modes of fire are selected automatcally by the system based on the same criteria as the rate of fire in the 'Black Widow' but can also be selected to maintain 'eye safe conditions' if civilians or friendly forces are in danger of eye damage.
While his system is highly effective against most threats, it suffers fro losing efficiency in combat situations where certain types of smoke screens are used, or if the target is obscured by chaff. The IR and Blue/Green bands are also negatively affected by rain and other natural conditions.
The other main problem is that under high load situations (all units operating simultanuosly in high output modes) the available radar intensity and available engine power may be compromised. (not always in larger classes or where auxilliary power is available)

OOC: Last one, then you can ask anything about any of the other portions of the presentation and after that I'll put up the specifics of buying the things

IC: And Finally we come to the reason for the FMCVs revolutionism, The fuly modular build! As was stated the FMCV ships are essentially built in two pieces: The hull portion which houses some defensive systems, the larger weapons (16+ in guns large VLS cell 'farms) and most of the vital ship systems such as the powerplant, fuel tanks, and supply storage, as well as some type specific systems like the carriers flight deck and some hangar space, and the amphibious ships well deck and vehicle space. The other section is the out riggers and superstructure, this module contains most of the crew quarters, its own power supply(batteries, diesel or hydrogen never nuclear) and engines (in addittion to the engines in the hull section) the superstructure also houses defenses (such as the RAM point defense missile system) and smaller guns and weapons (<12in guns, AMLS missile launchers) and the bridge and CIC.

Both modules are fully independent and can even function as stand alone units (not recommended) with their own power, thrust and weapons. However, in a suitably equipped dock, or with the help of a Crocatoa class fleet support vessel (in up to sea state 4) the two modules (any two modules of the same class) can be conected in less than an hour (weather and crew experience dependant) allowing any group of FMCV vessles to undergo a swift change of roles to better meet future mission challenges. or to change roles in port before deployment to better anticipate possible challenges.
And the modular construction doesnot stop at the two base units, every aspect of all FMCV ships is designed and built to be easliy interchangeable or replaceable. From main guns to radars and even power plants and engines everythng is fully modular including all electronics. this means that not only is it very easy to use your own standard weapons and systems in an FMCV ship (to ease logistics strain) but also to allow for easy upgrading meaning that one hull (and superstructure) can serve for much longer than equivalent ships, so the need to replace or refit is drastically reduced. These ships are not only cutting edge NOW, but will remain so far into the future.

Are there any final questions before sales are discussed?

Will you be able to sell production rights to the modules?

We are not now anticipating the sale of production rights for the core modules but individual weapon systems and most of the other systems will be available for production rights.

The 16in. Naval gun has been the symbol of Naval power for over a hundred years, since the first dreadnaughts were constructed these massive firearms have dealt devastating blows to enemy ships and land forces alike, The Shipyards at Wuller and Farthing, in cooperation with Mondoth Arms Limited has recreated this classic weapon of destruction into a modern work of martial art. The Mondoth Arms 16 in. naval gun features a state of the art bezzle mounted autoloader, two 3,000 pound ordnance lifts and a comprehensive electronics set including a pair of independent thermal imaging sights with integral laser rangefinder/target designators and a powerful magnifying component that can be used in day mode as well, similar to the sights on modern battle tanks, this system allows the gunner to select and prosecute a target while the turret commander acquires and designates the next target, leading to an incredibly short engagement time. The turrets fully automated tracking and elevation also reflect modern advances in tank construction, utilizing lightning fast computers coupled with the ships own sensor system, the gun automatically corrects for target speed, windage and distance and is even capable of time on target style repeated firings, placing as many as six rounds on a single target within fractions of a second of each other. And the rounds themselves are no less revolutionary, firing the standard array of HE rounds, armor piercing and concrete filled KE rounds as well as smoke and illuminating rounds, the real genius is in the guided rounds, utilizing a ‘soft launch’ propellant to reduce stresses on electronics components and a thin walled discarding sabot to protect the control surfaces, these rounds carry slightly less bang for the buck but the ability to put the first round on any target down to the size of a single window through the magic of GPS guidance is worth it.
The autoloader features blow out armor plates to prevent even a direct hit from taking the gun completely out of action.
