The Louisianan Directive

Aztec National League
16-08-2005, 00:40
A creeping yellow glow took over the night and shined new life and energy amongst the land. However, in Tenochitilán, the government officials and national leaders scurried about, hurriedly and with nothing to say to the gathering press. It wasn’t unknown to the people that their ally had just ceased to exist. However, what was unknown was how Aztlán would respond. Little did the people and the rest of the world know that Aztlán was now on a road, a road to empire.

Outside the Grand Union Hall, the office of the Administrative Branch of the government, a crowd gathered around a red 1971 Camero SS. Everyone knew this car and who was in it. Quietly, Quetzalcoatl Nochtli (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y50/Spectrechris/randy_castillo.jpg) stepped out of the car, walking towards the building. With concern in their eyes, the people looked towards the Premier, the man who was younger than most of them but brought them liberty to see what his mood was like. Yet, in the heat of the afternoon, the Premier looked on, without distress in his face. Apparently, whatever happened at the Tlatocayotl Tlactli was good. As he walked into the hall, the door closed behind him, the people anxiously waiting to hear about Aztlán’s next step.

Inside the Premier’s office, the ministers of the Aztec National League gathered around a table. By the Premier’s request, everyone was there. It was unusual that the Premier would meet with every Minister at the same time. Usually, he met with them individually or in small groups. However, this was different.

The Premier walked into the office, and the Vice Premier, Coyotepec Xoxoctic (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y50/Spectrechris/Zedillo.jpg) walked up to him and shook his hand. “So, what’s the news?” The Vice Premier asked.

“The Tlatocayotl Tlactli has voted to honor our treaty with Louisiana. The agreement was that should one of our two nations collapse, the survivor is to take over all lands of the dissolved nation. Now, that responsibility falls on to us.”

The Ministers were silent and stunned. The Aztec National League hadn’t expanded its lands for years, being locked in by South America and North America. Aztlán, although militaristic, was never imperialistic, and now, it seemed that the Aztecs would have an empire far more vast than the deserts, jungles and mountains of México and Central America.

Chief Warrior-General Tlanextic Zazanilli (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y50/Spectrechris/Che_Best.jpg), the Minister of War, was delighted by this turn of events. “When do we begin.”

The Premier said, “Immediately.”

He continued on, “Dr. Wellington, I want you to make sure that the other nations over look this…”

Dr. Darius Wellington (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y50/Spectrechris/george.jpg) interrupted and said, “I don’t think many of our enemies would take kindly to this, nor will some of our allies.”

The Premier than said, “We’re just honoring a treaty, besides the politics involved is too great to ignore.”

Raquel Rodriguez (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y50/Spectrechris/Raquel.jpg), the Environmental Minister said “What do you mean.”

Dr. Wellington responded, “With the disillusion of Communist Louisiana, we’re one of the few socialist superpowers left in the world.”

Victor Tonhuac, the Intelligence Minister (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y50/Spectrechris/timothydalton.jpg), said, “Well, we can expect a separatist movement; we’ll place a majority of our AIA agents in the Louisianan territories.”

“Good,” the Premier sighed. “Alright, Raquel, I want you to work with Dario on establishing human services. We need to see if there’s any environmental damage and how to reverse it, John, you are in charge of economics, we need to make sure that our new territories are as healthy as we are. We begin this now.”

The Premier stepped out of the Grand Union Hall, looking over the people still gathered there. They were waiting to hear the news, what the ANL was going to do next. Unlike his characteristic cheerful self, the Premier cleared his throat and said,

“I only have a few words to say. As you know, our ally, Communist Louisiana has been dissolved. In accordance to our treaty with Communist Louisiana, we are to take all of their lands should their government collapse. We are committing both military and civilian forces to the Louisianan territories to secure them and ultimately, incorporate them into Aztlán. Socialism will not fall, and if we have to be the lone flag bearer in this region, then let it be so.”

(OOC: I’ll post forces and destinations in about an hour. This involves the land west of the Mississippi River, Louisiana and probably CL's colonial territories.)
