The Mondothian Military is a Unique one, consisting of three 'Combat Services' (Navy, Airforce and Marine Corp.), and three 'Token Services' (Coast Guard, Diplomatic Defense Corp. and Official Honor Guard). The COmbat services are focused on mobility, the Mondothian COmbat Services pride themselves on the capability to be fully mission ready in three days while the Airforce and Marine corp. can be in combat anywhere in the world in less than twelve hours.
Military Doctrine is an objective driven one. Operations primarily focus on thin corridors to deliver the maximum force to trouble spots and enemy weaknesses. Training is tough and consits of two months until a man or woman is sent to a combat unit in any service. Comprehensive physical, psycological and knowledge tests are administered every year and failure to pass is cause for a dismissal in most cases. Even generals and admirals must pass these tests although the Physical test passing grade is lowered.
Men and Women are trained in the same fashion and the qualifying tests are the same. Despite its otherwise progressive female policies (The SUbmarine force is almost exclusively female), men and Women are not allowed too serve in the same unit except in special forces or non combatant roles. While this practice has been criticized, we have found that it gives Mondothian forces a sligth psycological edge over tottally integrated units as in studues we have found that males in the same unit as female soldiers often feel protective of the fmeale soldiers which can lead to dangerous and reckless behaviour endagering entire units.
Nuclear policy is a simple one of measured proportional response, If tactical weapons are used against us, we will use them right back, is strategic weapons are used, we will engage similiarly.
Despite the policy of porportional response, Mondoth maintains only a small mainly detterant strategic weapon force and only One dedicated ICBM silo.
Most strategic Mondothian weapons are infact small city busters, capable only of destroying a single small city.
Other WMDs however are treated differently, Due to Mondothian history, Mondothians suffer an institutional fear of disease and chemical poisons. While our healthcasre system has bloomed in this climate leaving mondothians immune too many weaponized strains (The cheaper ones) and chemical/biological watch systems grace every urban corne, Any nation that uses Chemical or biological weapons against Mondoth or its Allies is immediatley a nuclear target. Biological attacks are in fact the one military reason why the single Mondothian ICBM would be launched.
