OOC: You know there a few nation who wouldn't like you doing that. And technically it's not trolling.

Lets see, 3500 elite soildiers, vs several million people, all wanting to defend there homes....

IC: The people of COL had been to war before, first to defeat the French colonists who had taken there land, then against the Americans who had tried to enforce capitalism upon them and last for there independence from the infernal Vietnamese.

The land was a battleground, covered in jungle with just one major city, Ti’kan and a few scattered towns. Small jungle villages existed but they weren’t mapped and nobody but the tribesmen knew where the where. There where few roads, one airport, a tiny stretch of heavily guarded coast and that was it.

It was estimated that about 150,000 mines lay off that one stretch of coast, relics of the 2nd world war, the French, the Americans and the Vietnamese attempts to subdue the Legionnares, so many that you needed a local to pilot you through that deadly maze.

You could say that aerial assault was impossible to, as the Americans had found out before, miles of forest, strewn with mines, wild animals and angry tribesman are not the most appetizing places to carry out a parachute drop onto, and heavy losses would be taken if you tried to land on the city or the airport.

The airport-the only one in this small country was just a single stripe of cracked and rutted tarmac and a couple of shacks, only two planes flew there, a DC-10 supply plane and the Kings jet.

As for the city, will it was called a city because it had slightly more building than anywhere else and a population of about 10,000, several times the size of anywhere else. Its people could quickly vanish into the surrounding woodland.

A country that size may only have a small military budget, no planes, no ships, the few meger resources it has go into mines for it’s solitary beach, that is now so heavily mined that people can’t go a few feet without stepping on one. And who needs guns where a bow and arrow are quicker, quieter and more effective in dense woodland. Some people had guns of course, taken from the French and Americans with as much arrow as they would muster, and one or two might have a heavier weapon, a bazooka or a Rocket Launcher.

So that was Christs Own Legion, a heavily jungled small strip of land with hundreds of languages spoken and hundreds of tribes of people. Most of these tribes have stopped killing each other now, luckily, and most have small radios so they know there at war. And the ones that don’t have probably lost track who there at war with.

CoL, I STRONGLY advise creating a closed war RP to avoid dogpiles and subsequent angry ignores and so forth.

We cannot comply to this offer, you shall lose countless thousands of men even if you attempt to invade COL. You know what our terrain is like, it would be another Vietnam but worse. Superior weapons are no use when you don't know where the enermy is.

They were Christians, killing Christians, Jews and Muslims. We'll carry out remote strikes via ICBMs. And we have religious tolerance and that was the problem. The Su-76s, launched from their bases in Rovonia, 65, nearly the entire Leafanistani Wasser contingent took off. Armed with their AAM and a MASER pod, they flew toward their target, the protection of the Ankhmet bombers.

The sleek Wolfcat-Plus fighter, the latest incarnation of the venerable F-115 family, sped up as the Wing Commander brought the whole formation up to attack speed at Mach 0.8. behind it, the remaining fighters spread out into pairs, with the StealthHawks super-cruising ahead, placing themselves closer in to the bombers, ready to swarm the outclassed escorts.

A satellite just ahead of the formation unloaded its burden. Shards of Tungsten needles, flew downward, spinning and tumbling at Mach 10, tearing apart the air with many surviving the atmospheric insertion wtih 40cm pieces they fell unto the enemy planes as a surprise strike, Leafanistani 5th Generation planes closed just before the Lone Alliance strikes.

"Watch your fi-!", a voice screams over the radio as a Dropship smashes into a building and is destroyed in an delayed explosion, anime style.

Marines fly from the ship as the shrapnel rained down upon the city, smashing enemy planes apart. A golden beam of light rips through a skyscraper and sends it tumbling downward, as several Marines manage to activate their jump chutes, though three smash into the ground.

*A golden beam shoots upward toward the sattlelight, setting the air around it on fire from the intense heat. The gaus cannons roar asmidst the klaxxons and zooming aircraft, sending a Leafistani fighter spiraling into another, the sky lights up with fire as the Titan unleashes it's fury, missles dancing amidst the sky.*

On it were identified more than twenty large rocket launches. Fifteen had been identified as ICBMs, the others must have been replacements for the tungsten rod launching satellites.

The target information was relayed to STRATCOM, who immediately scrambled the alert Lancers and Dragons that would protect the country from ICBM strike, and also activated the most secretive squadron in the RAF. Four black painted highly-modified OSR-71 Blackbirds aceleratd down the runway, refuelled, and headed upwards, heading for LEO.

*Brother Jero kicked the door of the Administration building open and opened fire on the secuirty desk, sending officers flailing backwards as mass-reactive shells piecred them. Right now, my forces are speeding toward them at their supercruise and will arrive in about 1 minute into strike range. And thank you Lame Bums for making these planes out of carbon buckyballs, heat resistant and EMP hardened.

*A collassal laser blast sears the top of the city, slicing many buildings clean in two, the chaingunners open fire on the city, the two massive arms roaring with gunshots, skyscrapers exploding and toppling into the streets, missles slamming into the city. A Legionary fortress is hit by several guass rounds, igniting fuel and blasting the HQ off of the main complex.*

Well, prepare to lose your entire military budget in one strike, since making those planes from buckyballs would cost trillions, as would making them perfectly heat resistant. Problem is, every plane has a weakness, the cockpit.

IC:

The incoming swarm of Leafanistani missiles suddenly lost their targets as everything in front of them shut down completely. Seconds later, thousands of targets presented themselves, all heading in different directions, all of differing sizes, and all looking very much hostile.

This mass of targets all started to bear down on the bombers and the Leafanistani escorts, overwhelming target radars, and masking the very faint returns from the Dragons. The only hope for the Su-96s would be to close in and use infra-red. So began phase two.

Having already launched their Screamer decoy missiles, creating the maelstrom of false targets, the Dragons began the real mission. Their nose turrets swivelled slightly, adjusting to line up on the cockpits of the Su-96s. In the cockpit of Dragon Nine-One, the lead aircraft, the commander finished his prayer, lifted a plastic cover, and pressed the LSR ENG button. At the very rear of the aircraft the firing sequence started, and milliseconds later the most powerful air-to-air weapon possessed by the RAF fired.

On the cockpit, the was no noise, nothing. But a two second long, 2 megawatt pulse of pure laser energy shot towards the Leafanistani fighter at the speed of light, tracking it as it moved relative to the Dragon. The remaining fifty-nine ABL aircraft also fired, each targetting a different fighter.

It was estimated that about 150,000 mines lay off that one stretch of coast, relics of the 2nd world war, the French, the Americans and the Vietnamese attempts to subdue the Legionnares, so many that you needed a local to pilot you through that deadly maze.
You could say that aerial assault was impossible to, as the Americans had found out before, miles of forest, strewn with mines, wild animals and angry tribesman are not the most appetizing places to carry out a parachute drop onto, and heavy losses would be taken if you tried to land on the city or the airport.
The airport-the only one in this small country was just a single stripe of cracked and rutted tarmac and a couple of shacks, only two planes flew there, a DC-10 supply plane and the Kings jet.
As for the city, will it was called a city because it had slightly more building than anywhere else and a population of about 10,000, several times the size of anywhere else. Its people could quickly vanish into the surrounding woodland.
A country that size may only have a small military budget, no planes, no ships, the few meger resources it has go into mines for it’s solitary beach, that is now so heavily mined that people can’t go a few feet without stepping on one. Laser cannons are PMT not FT. It's possible (If you really really had the dough) To put those sort of weapons out right now. I agree that "Giant Dropships" and Space marines is overdoing it. And I already have my Anti Mine weapon ready.

OOC: Problem with that, we have developed High Energy LASER weapons, we are just too cheap and congressy to deploy them. However, if you really spent the time and the money, a High Energy LASER weapon is possible.

The planes started taking damage, fuel detonated, missiles exploded, 45 of the planes weren't lucky enough to dodge the beams long enough before they exploded. Only 12 parachutes floated downward toward the oceans. The remaining planes kicked into afterburners, strapped themselves in and started engaging in dangerous manuvuers. The few left flew around like insane darts, trying to get closer to their targets.

Tanks are usless in a heavly jungled place suh as COL, they get bogged down, and mined to shit as well, walkers would be blons to peices as well, they step on a mine, they lose a leg.

TLI, and the fact that I have no population centres excapt for one small (read Tiny) city, and that most of the place is jungle full of dangerious animals ect. Your basically facing the same problem as the US did in Vietnam, except worse because Vietnam wasn't as mined as COL.
