Dawn of the first day....
Danish troops of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th div. poured out from transports. They where swiftly cut down but the sheer audacity and bravery of the men forced the Swedish defenders back from thier entrenched positions. As the booming thunder of the battleship Mars hammered the inland positions all around Oslo while the majority of the other ships where at Narvik.
While the slow fighting continued on the outskirts of the two cities the majority of the port facilities had been taken so the fully loaded transports came in bearing tons of food stores and ammo.
While the transports where un-loading another strong push was made in Oslo by the new troops brought in by the transports helped fuel the new attack. (For it would be 6 more hours until the Narvik transports would complete the voyage that far north.)
By the end of the second week the Danes had finished with the suburbs of both cities and where working thier way closer and closer towards the industrial center. The Swedish civilians and troops put up a heavy resistance but with no real plan of action nor commanders they where finally encircled and overwhelmed.
By the end of the first month most of the residential and commercial buildings had been taken and Swedish resistance was drying up in the hearts of the civialians and soilders. When the troops at Narvik finally reached the center of the city most of the soilders where fleeing east and north hoping to catch a ride on the escaping carriges and wagons.
Also by this time the Danish in-direct guns where showing how better they where in urban combat than the direct firing guns of the swedish. OOC: This is based of the fact that Sweden would take after England with thier artillery. IC:
So when Narvik was taken fully by the end of the third month Danish causualties where reported at 47,000 and Swedish at 32,000. These figures where added by the susecfull invasion of Oslo too.
