In a press Release, the Velkyan President (FT Velkyan Union) announced that the Colony of New Velkya has gained full independence from the Earth-borne Velkyan Union. Details are sketchy, but rumors of a military build-up on the colony (located on the world of New Velkya in the Authlian System), including a 200 ship fleet partially donated by it's mother-country, and 100,000 personnal.
