In an unprecedented act, Defense Minister Fen i Remen today ordered the 1st Naval Fleet to conduct a training exercise a scant 200 kilometers off the coast of Moses Land. When questioned about the order, he responded:
"In my view our navy, well trained as it is for maneuvers within Aysheaian waters, is not experienced in this type of mission. Therefore we are staging a mock preparation to invasion as a way of evaluating our readiness, and to see where we need to focus more training."
When questioned about conducting this mission so close to a nation we are openly hostile to, he assured the press that Moses Land was chosen merely because of the ideal littoral conditions.
"In any event, I can assure you that this is only an exercise. We shall not come into their territorial waters at all, staying in international waters at all time."
The fleet, which left early this morning, is apparently traveling at high speed. It is unknown when they will reach Moses Land and begin the exercise.
